Sent Back In Time
AZUNA'S POV
"Remember, when you're using the tic tac move you have to place your foot at the right height before taking the leap."
I said to my pupils as they practised the tic tac move. So far only three of my best students have done well, the others still had a long way to go but, they were getting there. I looked at the other group and they were practising the wall run. I watched a few of the students successfully pass the wall climb. I watched Lily, one of the newcomers run up the wall but she missed the edge and she slid down it.
"Oh man! not again!"
"Don't worry Lily, it got me that way too when I first started free running."
I said as I helped her onto her feet.
"Here, let me show you how it's done."
I demonstrate the wall climb to her and the other students and they were impressed by this. I looked at them and I said to them.
"Remember, speed isn't the only skill you need for this wall climb, it's about timing as well, once you get close to the wall and perform that one small leap, that's the time to quickly grab onto the ledge, now give it another try."
"Hai!!"
The group said to me and the Lily tried again and she got the hang of it.
"Yes! I did it!"
"Well done, Lily, now move onto the next obstacle and keep up with the good work."
"Hai, Sensei."
Lily said before she took off running to the next obstacle. Once my class was finished for the day, I got a message from Karou. I looked at my phone and the message said.
Hey, where r u? my Kendo match is about to start in five minutes, Nanami is already here, waiting for you!
I looked at the time and it was nearly time for the kendo match to start. I quickly gathered my things and I put on my hoodie before dashing out of the gym hall and heading to Karou's kendo match. I managed to get there in time and I stood next to Nanami.
"Sorry I took so long, did I miss it?"
Nanami shook her head for a no and she pointed at Karou. I looked at Karou and she was getting ready for her match. Karou spotted me and she smiled at me. I mouthed 'Good luck' to her before it was her turn now. Karou got her bamboo sword ready and she was ready to face her opponent.
'Good luck, Karou.'
I thought to myself as I got my camera at the ready to record her match. We watched Karou fight against her opponent and then she won her match. The crowd cheered for her and I did the same. I ran over to Karou and I hugged her tightly.
"Hahahaha!! well done little sis!"
"Arigato, Azuna!"
Karou happily said as she hugged me tightly as well. Nanami joined the hug as well and then we left the school. Karou was still feeling cheerful after her victory.
"Oh man! this is the best day ever!! I swung that bamboo sword left and right and I was dodging his attacks but he missed me!!"
"All right! Karou! knock it off! we get the idea you won your match but, that's no reason to get to worked up about it!"
"I can't help it! I just get so hyper after a victory match!"
"*Sighs* I give up, anyway, my bosses from the day and night jobs have told me to take a few weeks off from work along with a large payment, so I went onto the internet last night and..."
I went into my back and I showed the girls the hotel I booked and their eyes lit up.
"I booked us a hotel in Kyoto, it's got a spa, the restaurant's sweets are the best, it's got a swimming pool and get this, there's a festival being held there as well!"
"Sis! you're the best!!"
Karou and Nanami hugged me tightly after telling them this and I laughed at them.
"All right! all right! knock it off! we've got some packing to do!"
I said while trying to hold back my laughs. We got back to the apartment and then Karou and Nanami didn't waste any time packing their stuff after dashing to their rooms. I shook my head a little and I got dinner ready since I've already packed my stuff for Kyoto. I was in the middle of chopping up the ingredients and I then glanced at the family photo on the fridge again. I smiled a little and I thought to myself.
'Don't worry, Otu-san, Okaa-san, I'll look after my sisters.'
TIME SKIP TO KYOTO...
We got to Kyoto and we were enjoying ourselves. We were at one of the temples and Karou got the camera ready.
"All right you ready for this flip?"
"The camera is recording just do it already!"
Karou said as she held her camera at the ready. I stood on the railing and some members of the public were nervous for me until I backflipped off the railing and I landed perfectly on the ground. Nanami and the members of the public cheered for me. I took a bow and I said to them.
"Arigato!"
We then moved onto the next spot which was a river with the stepping stones. Karou and Nanami got to the other side and she got her camera ready.
"Ready Azuna, try not to fall in!"
"You don't need to tell me twice!"
I said with a grin before using my tic tac skill on the stepping stones. Before I reached the other side I decided to do a flip in the end. Karou and Nanami cheered for me along with some of the locals.
"Woohoo!! nice one Onee-chan!"
"Arigato, I think that's enough of my parkour skills for one day," I said as I stretched a little.
"No way! your moves are amazing and Kyoto is a free runners' paradise, well, depending on the environment," Karou spoke with a grin on her face.
"True," I said with a smirk as we moved onto the next spot.
I looked at the map and I said to Karou and Nanami.
"According to this map, we should be near Azuchi castle, we can make a visit there and then we can go to Honno-Ji temple afterwards before dinner."
"Sounds like a plan," Karou said with a smile as we made our way over to Azuchi castle.
We were amazed by the sight and I got my phone out.
"OK, ladies, group photo."
I got my phone ready and I switched it to a selfie camera. We smiled and then I took the picture. We looked at the picture and I noticed Nanami looked happy. I smiled at her and I said to her.
"Finally, someone has a smile on their face."
"I can't help it, this has been the best holiday ever!" Nanami said before running off.
Karou whispered in my ear while Nanami looked at the castle behind us.
"I think this little trip is helping her, Azuna, I haven't seen a smile on her face like that in a while."
"I know, you already told me she wasn't happy at home so, I figured something like this will do besides, my bosses have been nagging at me to take a break from work anyway."
"Good," Karou said before we continued our sightseeing adventure.
We eventually got to our last stop of the night which was Honno-Ji temple, the resting place Nobunaga Oda. Before we headed to the temple, Karou bought a leaflet explaining everything about Kyoto's history including the warlords of the Sengoku period. On the way to the temple, Karou was reading everything out loud to me and Nanami about the warlords.
"Oh! here's my favourite warlord! The one eye dragon Masamune Date! I'm a huge fan of the historical dramas they did about him! I love the name and the eye patch looks so cool on him as well!"
Karou looked like your average high school girl in love with her senior. Karou sighed sadly and she spoke up.
"But, it's a shame he's not from Kyoto."
"Karou, wake up from your dreamlike world, The one eye dragon has been dead for the last 500 years, there's no way he'd be interested in a hyper and sporty woman like you."
Karou glared at me and she said to me.
"Says the woman who got dumped by her boyfriend."
"At least I have the ability to keep my guard up around jerks like Hayato unlike you, Baka!!"
Karou and I butted heads while Nanami looked at us worryingly with a sweat drop running down the side of her head. Nanami got in between us and she told us.
"Hey! stop it! knock it off you two! we're supposed to be taking a break and that means no bickering or fighting whatsoever!"
Kaoru and I sighed in defeat because we knew she was right.
"You're right, Nanami, we shouldn't be at each other's throats right now."
"She's right, come on, let's take a quick visit to Honno-Ji and then we'll head back to the hotel."
I nodded my head in agreement and then we got to the temple. We looked around and then I then spoke up.
"Sheesh, this place is creepy at night."
"Well, you'll never know, Nobunaga Oda's ghost might be haunting this place."
Karou said in a scary tone and then Nanami held my sleeve.
"Ignore her Nanami, she's just being an idiot."
Karou glared at me and then she looked frightened for some reason.
"Azuna! behind you!"
"I'm not falling for that trick Karou," I said with my arms folded and a frown on my face.
"Seriously Azuna! look behind you!"
I looked over my shoulder and I saw a silhouette. I stood at a fighting stance and I charged at the culprit. I grabbed his arm and I threw him over my shoulder and pinned him to the ground.
"Ow! Azuna! what was that for?!"
I looked at the culprit once more and it was Sasuke, a friend of the family.
"What the?! Sasuke?! what the hell are you doing here?!"
I shouted before helping him onto his feet. Sasuke rubbed his shoulder and he glared at me.
"I could ask you the same thing, why'd attack me?"
"Sorry about that," I said with a sweat drop before asking him. "But seriously though, we haven't seen you in what? 4 months?"
"It certainly has been a while, Azuna, how you've been?" Sasuke questioned me.
"Aside from working hard with my day and night jobs and looking after these two, life's been great, what brings you here to Kyoto?" I asked him.
"Same as you, just looking at this temple," Sasuke as he looked around, almost as if he's waiting for something to happen.
We stood next to Sasuke and we stared at him intently.
"What? why are you three staring at me like that?" Sasuke questioned us as we stared at him.
"Sasuke, you've been our friend for the last 5 years since our parents died and we know you're up to something," I said as I continued to glare at him and then Karou spoke up.
"She's right, what are you up to?"
Before Sasuke could tell us I felt something wet land on my nose. We looked up and then it started to rain heavily.
"Oh man! seriously?! I thought it was gonna be dry and warm for the next few weeks!" Nanami shouted as she got her umbrella out and we stood underneath the umbrella.
"Good thinking Nanami, Sasuke do you have one?!" I asked him.
"No, it's back at my hotel."
Suddenly, a bolt of lighting appeared out of nowhere and then it destroyed the stone monument. Nanami hugged Karou in fear and I spoke.
"OK, that wasn't your natural lighting at all!"
"Azuna! let's get outta here!" Karou shouted at me.
Sasuke looked at his watch and his eyes widen.
"The wormhole..."
'Huh? wormhole...?'
I thought to myself before Sasuke held out his hand to us.
"You three! stay close to me before-"
His sentence was cut off when the area around us and Sasuke started to bend and wrap into the darkness, eventually disappearing.
