3RD PERSON POV
Azuna, the eldest of her sisters, was in school practising her free-running skills with her friends and her sister Karou, the middle sister, was watching her from the benches. Azuna ran towards the wall and when her foot touched the wall, she did a back flip and she landed onto her feet. Karou clapped for her and she said to her.
"Onee-chan that was amazing!"
"Arigato!"
Azuna said with a smile and then Belle, one of Azuna's friends came over to her and she said to her.
"Hey Azuna, let's try the jumping exercises."
"OK."
Azuna and Sarah climbed up the wall and they stood on the edge.
"OK, here we go."
Sarah went first, she leapt off from the edge and she did a flip on the way down before landing on her feet onto the crash mat.
"Not bad."
"Not bad? think you can do better?"
"Oh yeah, watch this Sarah!"
Azuna leapt off the edge and she performed the leap of faith from the Assassin's Creed series. Azuna landed onto her back and then Sarah and the rest of Azuna's friend and her sister cheered for her.
"Whoohoo!! nice one!"
"That's a 100 per cent pass from me!"
Hayato, Azuna's boyfriend, said with a grin on his face. Azuna sat up and she fixed herself up and then Karou came over to her.
"That was amazing Onee-chan!"
"Arigato, Karou, anyway, I think that's enough for today, we'll meet up at the park as usual to do some more parkour videos tomorrow."
"Sounds great to me."
Sarah said with a smile. Azuna and Karou along with their younger sister, Nanami, got home only to find it empty and quiet. Azuna switched on the light and she looked around.
"Hello? Okaa-san? Otu-san? are you home?" Azuna called out.
Karou looked at the time and it was getting late.
"That's weird, Okaa-san and Otu-san aren't usually this late, where do you think they are?"
Azuna checked her phone and she looked at the last text message that her mother sent to her.
The meeting is taking longer than usual, please be an angel and make dinner for your sisters?
"Well, they did say their meeting was taking a bit longer than usual, maybe that's why, anyway, let's see what we can have dinner," Azuna said with a smile before checking the fridge.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang and when Karou opened the door, Sasuke, a friend of the family, and two police officers were there.
"Are you three the Takara sisters this young man told us about?" One of the police officers asked them.
Azuna came over to the front door and she said to them.
"We are, why are you here? what did Karou do this time?"
"It's not like that Miss Takara, I think you three better take a seat," The second police officer told them.
Azuna lets the two police officers into the house and then she looked at Sasuke.
"Sasuke, what's going on?"
"You're about to find out," Sasuke as he gently rubbed Azuna's shoulder.
The three sisters sat down on the couch and then the police officer gave them the bad news.
"Girls, there's been an accident, a drunk lorry driver was speeding on the highway and then it crashed into a car, that car belonged to your parents."
The girls were shocked when they heard him say this. Azuna then asked him.
"Oh no! are they all right? how badly hurt are they?!"
"...I'm afraid that's the bad news, by the time the paramedics got to your parents they were already dead."
Karou gasped and she covered her mouth in shock while Nanami started crying. Azuna covered her mouth in shock as well before standing up from the couch.
"Oh no...no, no, no! this can't be happening!" Azuna shouted.
"I'm so sorry for you girls," The police officer told them before leaving the house.
Sasuke, however, stayed with them and then he watched the three Takara sisters hug each other as they cried their eyes out.
5 years later...
AZUNA'S POV
I ran and ran through the streets since I was running late for my night job again and I looked at the time on my watch.
"Shoot! I'm never gonna make it at this rate! time to take a shortcut!"
I ran into an ally and I used my tic tac move to climb on top of the fence and I climbed up the building. I got into the hallway of the building and I leapt through the window and I ran across the rooftops and I leapt across them. I climbed down the building and I shoulder rolled onto the ground to safely land on the ground. I stood up and I ran through the street while vaulting over obstacles and leaping over railings. I finally made it to the restaurant where I work and I made it time.
I panted in exhaustion and then Sarah came over to me.
"There you are Azuna, you were nearly late for your shift again."
"Sorry about that...one of my pupils needed some extra lessons...I lost track of time..."
"Well, you're here now that's all that matters, by the way, did you run all the way here?"
"I took my usual short cut to get here."
Sarah laughed when I told her this and I then got changed into my work clothes.
TIME SKIP...
I wiped up another table and then my boss came over to me and he said to me.
"Azuna, don't you think you're working too hard? I mean it's good to see you're earning money to support your sisters but, aren't you worried that you might be overworking yourself?"
"I don't mind, besides, I need the money to pay the bills and get food for my sisters."
I said as I took the dishes and cups into the kitchen. Once my shift was done for the day, I got changed into my casual wear. The chef came over to me and he said to me.
"Here you go, Azuna, here's some leftover pasta."
"Thanks, Daisuke, you didn't have to do that."
"Not at all, anyway, be careful on your way home."
I nodded my head and I headed home. I got back to the apartment and then Karou greeted me by hugging both of my legs while her stomach growled loudly.
"Azuna!! welcome home!!"
"Karou...are you starving?"
"I am! so is Nanami! what took you so long!?"
"Sorry, anyway, I've brought back some leftover pasta."
Karou smiled brightly when I said this and then I heated up the pasta before serving it. Karou ate the pasta and she smiled happily.
"Yummy!!"
"Hyper as always."
I mumbled as I ate some for the pasta. Nanami giggled a little as she ate little bits of the pasta.
"Well...Karou did finish another exam today... so it's no wonder she worked up an appetite," Nanami spoke softly.
"Exactly!" Karou spoke with enthusiasm. But she frowned afterwards.
"What's the matter?" I asked her and then Karou said to me.
"Azuna, people in school have been talking badly about us, they're feeling sympathy towards us or they're talking badly about us."
I was surprised by this and I looked at Nanami who nodded her head in agreement. I put down my fork and I told them.
"Listen, you two, it doesn't what anyone says about us, don't let it bother you, it's just stupid stories that everyone makes up about us after the death of our parents and if it is sympathy, who cares? don't let them get to you, ignore them and keep your heads held high."
Nanami and Karou smiled at me and then they nodded their heads.
"We will!" Nanami and Karou spoke in harmony making me giggle.
After a while of chatting, the three of us were finished with our dinner.
"Thanks for the food," Karou said before standing up and heading back to her room.
"Excuse me and thanks for the food Onee-chan," Nanami said before she stood up and leaving the table.
I lose the smile on my face and I began to clear up the table. While I cleaned up the dishes, I glanced at the picture of the three of us and our parents when we were on holiday in Greece 7 years ago.
'I can't believe it's been five years since that day...after the funeral, I left school and I found work straight away, I work as a parkour trainer by day and then a waitress at night just to pay for the bills and put food on the table for Nanami and Karou.'
I thought to myself as I dried up the dishes. I sighed a little and I thought about what Karou told me and I knew she was right, people have been talking about us whether it's sympathy or bad talk. However, as the eldest, I vowed that I won't let anything bad happen to my sisters because I will protect them from harm.
