ALEXIS' POV

A while had passed since I've been in this time period. Sasuke has been visiting me on some nights to check up on me and the other warlords have been kind to me as well. I know I'll only be here for another two months but, I can't help but get close to the warlords they're almost like big brothers to me. I didn't feel as homesick as I did before thanks to Mitsunari's help and some people have begun to call me the Songbird of Azuchi because of how beautiful my singing voice sounds and how talented I am with my musician skills.

Right now, I was helping the maids with the usual duties until we got word that one of the Oda forces' lords was coming to visit along with his fiance. Why they were coming we don't know, but, the maids were guessing that Nobunaga was going to get invited or they probably wanted to ask Hideyoshi to be the one to lead his fiance down the aisle. I got to the audience chamber in time and then Masamune said to me.

"There you are, Lass, what took you so long?"

"Sorry about that, I had to make a last-minute delivery for the seamstress."

Sora barked in response as we sat down next to him. Nobunaga sat down at his dais and then the Lord, Yoshimoto and his soon-to-be-wife Yuzuki, came into the audience hall. Lord Yoshimoto looked at Nobunaga and he said to him.

"Lord Nobunaga, thank you so much for taking the time to meet us."

"It's always a pleasure to meet you Yoshimoto, but, if I may ask why you've come here today?"

"Actually, it was my wife who wanted to speak to you."

"Oh?"

Nobunaga looked at Yuzuki and I couldn't help but admire that kind look in her eyes and her beauty. 

"Lord Nobunaga, as you already know, we're due to get married soon. Our ceremony is tomorrow but, I'm afraid we've got a problem. One of the entertainers we asked for were not able to come because of the flood in one of the neighbouring domains."

"Ugh, I knew that storm we had a month ago was bad but, I didn't realise it had taken its toll on one of the domains. I am so sorry," Hideyoshi spoke with his head bowed.

"It's not your fault, Lord Hideyoshi, in fact, the reason why we're here is to ask Lady Alexis to help us."

I was surprised by this and I asked them.

"You want me to be one of your entertainers at your wedding? why?"

"Well, from what I've heard from the rumours about you, you're very talented, you have a beautiful singing voice and you have an interesting foreign instrument that you play as well. Why do you think everyone has been calling you the Songbird of Azuchi?"

"Seriously? that's what everyone has been calling me? that's news to me."

Yuzuki held both of my hands and she gave me that begging puppy eye look on his face.

"Please Lady Alexis! we're begging you, our ceremony is tomorrow and without your help, my wedding won't be so perfect and some of your guests would be disappointed if you don't show up. Please help us."

"All right! all right! I'll help, besides, it's been a while since I've sung in front of an audience aside from the warlords."

I glanced at Nobunaga and I said to him.

"Well, if that's all right with you Lord Nobunaga."

"It's fine, do what you can to help them and make sure to put your talents to good use."

"You got it."

Sora barked in response after I said this with a smile.

THE NEXT DAY...

Hideyoshi escorted to Lord Yoshimoto's mansion and once we got there, the servants were getting everything ready for the wedding ceremony. Once we got there, Lady Yuzuki came over to us and she smiled at me.

"Lady Alexis, you made it!"

"Of course, you didn't think I'd miss this now, did you? I also hope you don't mind me bringing Sora, he hates it when I'm gone for way too long, he tends to get very anxious."

Sora wagged his tail and he barked response. 

"Oh no, it's fine just as long as he doesn't mark the floor or on the table cloths."

"He won't, he'll be on his best behaviour, won't you boy?"

Sora barked happily and then Hideyoshi said to me.

"Make sure you don't stay out too long and don't get drunk either."

"Yeah, yeah, I heard it all before. Stop worrying about me so much will ya."

"I can't help it, besides, you know how dangerous it can get at night."

"I'll be fine, now get going, I have a performance to attend to."

"All right, I'll see you later", Hideyoshi said to me before walking away.

I sighed a little and then Lady Yuzuki said to me.

"Well, isn't he the overprotective type."

"Tell me about it, anyway, mind showing me where I'm supposed to perform?"

"Sure, follow me."

I followed Lady Yuzuki to the gardens where the ceremony was taking place and where the entertainment was taking place. 

"So here's where my soon to be husband and I will be saying our vows, etc and then afterwards you and the other entertainers will start your performances for us to celebrate our marriage."

"Sounds good to me," I spoke with a smile.

Just then, a little girl along with her two friends ran over to Lady Yuzuki and then she smiled at Sora.

"Mommy look! A doggy!!"

"Oh, Ami! please be careful."

I smiled at Lady Yuzuki and I told her.

"It's all right, Lady Yuzuki, Sora won't hurt her, he loves kids."

Sora wagged his tail and then he sat down while he let Ami petted him along with her two friends. Sora then rolled onto his back so that the kids were giving him a belly rub. Lady Yuzuki sighed in relief and then she said to me.

"Looks like you're right, sorry. Looks like Lord Hideyoshi isn't the only one who has an overprotective trait."

"Hehe, it's fine."

"Allow me to show you where you're getting changed."

Lady Yuzuki showed me where I was going to get changed and then a few of the maids came into my room and then Lady Yuzuki said to me.

"Well, I'm off to get ready, I'll see you later."

"Before you go, Lord Nobunaga asked me to give you this."

I handed her over a bottle of sake and I told her.

"It's called the Local Legendary Brew, I have to warn you though, it's a bit strong for my taste but, it's still good though."

"Thank you, Lady Alexis. Be sure to tell Nobunaga I said thanks the next time you see him."

"Of course."

I said to her before she left the room. Once she was gone, I got the kimono that I was planning to wear tonight along with the hairpin that Mitsuhide got for me. The kimono that I was wearing is white and it has a cherry blossom pattern on it. The maids helped me with my hair and make and now I was ready to go. The maids tied some of my hair back and left the rest of it down while they pinned the hair comb into the bun that tied some of my hair back. The maids looked at me up and down and they smiled at me.

"Wow, Lady Alexis you look beautiful."

"Thanks, ladies, anyway, let's get going."

I told them before heading into the garden. I sat with the rest of the entertainers and some of them were either geisha or other musicians like me. Once the ceremony was over, it was now our turn to shine. I watched some of the entertainers dance, play different instruments etc until it was now my turn. 

"Lady Yuzuki and Lord Yoshimoto, for your entertainment I will be singing for you tonight. I hope you and the guests enjoy it."

I told them before adjusting the strings on my guitar and then I began to sing.

There was a moment of silence and then everyone clapped and cheered for her. Lord Yoshimoto and Lady Yuzuki stood up and they clapped and cheered for her as well while some of them had tears in the corner of their eyes. Alexis took a bow and then she sat back down with the rest of the entertainers.

TIME SKIP...

After the entertainment was done, I got changed back into my usual kimono and I tied my hair back into a ponytail. I got back to Lord Yuzuki and I sat next to her.

"What did you think of my performance?"

"You were amazing, I knew you had an amazing singing voice but, wow."

"Hehe, thank you Lady Yuzuki, but, have you seen Sora?"

"He's over there with Yuzuki and her friends."

I watched Sora sit still as Yuzuki and her friends petted Sora's fur and they made a flower crown for him. I giggled a little and then Lady Yuzuki said to me.

"Looks like Sora is popular with the kids, I'm surprised he's not annoyed yet."

"Sora knows when to keep his snappy attitude down to a minimum, the only time when he's angry is only when he sees someone he doesn't know. When he does, he goes into the defensive mode and starts glaring and growling but, the only thing he doesn't hurt is little kids."

"I see, he's one loyal dog."

Lady Yuzuki commented before she poured a cup of sake for me. I did the same for her and I said to her.

"Lady Yuzuki, thank you for inviting me and congratulations on your wedding day."

"And thank you, for helping us and making this day perfect for us."

We toasted to that and then we took a sip of the sake and it was a bit strong and I realised this drink was the Legendary Local Brew. 

"This drink is..."

"It sure is, I figured the others would like it as well and they seem to be enjoying it."

"Good to hear," I spoke with a smile before taking another sip of the sake.

We had a few drinks of sake for a while until it was time for me to go. I stood at the entrance with Sora, Yoshimoto and Yuzuki.

"Thanks again for your entertainment, Lady Alexis," Yuzuki spoke with a smile.

"It was nothing, I just enjoy seeing everyone's smiles on their faces, if you ever need me again or if there's someone else who needs me for entertainment you know where to find me."

"Of course, Lady Alexis, but, are you sure you'll be all right by yourself? I mean it's gotten really dark tonight."

"I'll be fine, besides, I've got Sora with me, he'll scare off anything that lurks in the shadows, right boy?"

Sora barked in response and then Yoshimoto gave me a pouch of gold coins and he said to him.

"Here you go, for your services."

I looked inside and there was a lot.

"Whoa! this is twice the amount than I'm usually paid, I can't accept this!"

"You have to, besides, you deserve it."

"Well, since you put it like that, how can I say no?"

I said as I put away the money pouch and then Ami came out of the mansion.

"*Yawn* are you leaving already?"

"Yes, I am."

Sora whimpered at Ami and then she smiled at him before patting his face.

"I hope I get yo see you again, pretty dog."

Sora wagged his tail before he licks her face. Ami giggled and then Yuzuki picks her up.

"Okay, little lady, it's way past your bedtime."

"All right, bye, Lady Alexis."

I waved bye to her and then Yoshimoto said to me.

"Please feel free to come again and be sure to bring your dog with you, Ami seems to like him."

"Hehe, I will and thanks again for letting me perform. I'll see you around, Lord Yoshimoto."

I said to him before heading back to the castle.
