Our Very Last Performance
ALEXIS' POV
I woke up this morning with a small hangover and I headed downstairs to get a glass of water and some painkillers.
"*Yawn* Ohayo, Okaa-san, Otu-san."
"Ohayo, honey, you look a little rough."
"Yeah, I had about maybe more than three drinks of beer last night, gomen."
"Don't worry about it here."
Mom gave me some painkillers and a glass of water. I took the painkillers and then Otu-san gently elbowed Okaa-san and eyed at me.
"Um, Alexis."
"What is it, Okaa-san?"
Mom looked a bit worried for some reason and then she said to me.
"Do you remember how we used to tell you about our old home in Kyoto?"
"Of course, you guys talked about that place all the time when I was little, why?"
"Well, your Father's work hasn't been going great here so, his old boss called him and well...he's offered him a place in Kyoto."
"Wait, what?! So does that mean..."
"Yes, we'll be immigrating back to Japan."
My heart felt like it had broke in several places when I heard this and I then said to them.
"But, I was born and raised here and all of my friends and bandmates are here too! We can't leave!"
"I'm sorry Alexis, but, I have to do what's right for the family."
"Then find another job here! I don't want to leave Canada! my friends are here!"
"I'm sorry, Alexis. I've already spoken to my boss and we're gonna move to Kyoto as of next month."
I lowered my head in shock and I stood up from my seat.
"I'm gonna go and get ready for work while I still have a job."
I headed upstairs and I slammed the door shut. I slid down the door and I started to cry my eyes out. Sora walked over to me and he nudged his head while whimpering a little. I hugged Sora tightly as I cried harder.
TIME SKIP...
During band practice, I told the others what was going on and they weren't happy when I told them I was leaving the country for good. Lizzy was even shocked when I told her the news.
"Immigrating to Japan?! Alexis, can your parents really do that?"
"They can and let's not forget, my parents were from Japan but, it doesn't matter if my birthplace was here or not, I'm still Japanese either way."
"But even so, surely there's gotta be some way for you to stay here, the band will end up losing its best singer."
"I know but, there's nothing I can do, I'm sorry guys, it looks like this is the end of the road for the phoenixes
I said as I lowered my head in sadness and then John placed his hand on my shoulder and he said to me.
"That's not true, this is not the end, whether you're here or in Canada, you will always have a place here in the band."
"John, arigato..."
I said as I felt tears in the corner of my eyes. Jessie hugs me tightly and he said to me.
"We'll miss you so much, Alexis!"
"I'm gonna miss you too."
I said as I hugged Jessie back. The rest of the members joined in the hug and that was one of the best memories that I will never forget. An idea popped into my head and I said to the band.
"Hey I've got an idea, why don't we have one last performance together, how about we got back to that concert hall, they loved us there."
"Sounds good to me, I'll let Keith know what's going on and see if he can squeeze us in the schedule."
John said as he left the room to make a phone call.
TIME SKIP TO THE CONCERT HALL...
Our fans were excited to see us but, they're all gonna be disappointed when they find out why we decided to perform one last time. I approached the microphone and I said to them.
"Hey guys, we're the Phoenixes."
Our fans cheered for us and I then said to them.
"Thank you so much for coming tonight but, sadly, this will be the last time you guys will be seeing me."
My fan club was shocked and saddened when they heard me say this and I explained to them.
"Some of you might have already heard that I'll be moving back to Japan, that rumour is true, which is why we've decided to perform for you guys one last time before I leave the country for good, I also wanted to say thank you so much for supporting us over the years and it's been a pleasure performing and singing for all of you."
Our fans cheered for us and then John smiled at me. I nodded my head and I then said to our fans.
"On that note, let us perform for you guys one last time."

~Intro~
"Ready set go!"
We were racing to the goal line not long ago
Even though, there was so much we didn't know yet
Crossing that line
We saw that they would be no going back in time
Even though, there was so much we didn't know yet
We're burning and fighting under the sun
Yeah, my skin is glistening
From sweat dripping down my face
As time will pass, I believe
There are many things that we may forget
Everyone will become a silhouette
But why do we pretend we don't care
All about the things that we hold so dear?
It's so when, it's hurting
We can laugh through the tears
So, here we go!
The little things that I remember from our youth
Above all, I recall, we thought the world ours
But now I understand
I see that destiny is far out of our hands
And the clock can't be stopped
These days keep rolling on
We fight it and fight it
And fight it but
Time will always keep moving on
Farther out of our reach
Yeah, as time will pass, I believe
There are many things that we may forget
Everyone will become a silhouette
But why do we pretend we don't care
All about the things that we really fear?
It's so when, it's hurting
We can laugh through the tears
So gracefully we're fluttering, like dancing leaves
I will live my life
I wanna be free from all the grief here in my memory
And as time will pass, I believe
There are many things that we may forget
But it seems, that some things, they'll never change and
When I close my eyes, it is you
That I see, cause you taught me this truth
Never fade, never fade
This silhouette, yeah
Cherish everything that you love
Hold them closer still in the years to come
Don't let go, even though, time keeps going on
One day soon, I hope we can mend
What we left on that day and start again
So with you, one day soon
We'll laugh through the tears
So gracefully we're fluttering, like dancing leaves
Always dreaming, we'll be flying free
~Outro~
The crowd cheered for us and then I said to them.
"Do you want another one?!"
The crowd cheered when I asked them this and then we began to play one last song.

All that we love and hold so dear
Could disappear one day without warning
Oh, we fear if we get too close to it
We'll lose it all in a heartbeat
Can you reminisce? Can you recall
The last time you felt some joy at all?
Or maybe you are so blessed to a point
Where you can't remember anything
The fact we're alive right here and now
We take it for granted but that's how
We'll find hope when we may need it most
When we realize the miracle
All that we love and hold so dear
Could disappear one day without warning
We fear if we get too close to it
We'll lose it all in a heartbeat
You know the closer you get to something
The tougher it is to see it
And I'll never take it for granted
Let's go
Some people may call the kindest deed
An act of mere hypocrisy
But never mind those who have lost their faith
You shouldn't give in to what they say
As a matter of fact, just hear me out
Even if it was for a selfish cause
A salvageable hypocrisy
Is superior to murderous honesty
Everyone tells you from time to time
To never give up like a scene from a movie
They tell you to stand up for yourself
As if was always that easy
There is a handful of courage in my heart
That is waiting to shine on my darkest day
And I'll never take it for granted
Let's go
All that we love and hold so dear
Could disappear one day without warning
We fear if we get too close to it
We'll lose it all in a heartbeat
You know the closer you get to something
The tougher it is to see it
And I'll never take it for granted
Let's go
Everyone tells you from time to time
To never give up like a scene from a movie
They tell you to stand up for yourself
As if it was always that easy
There is a handful of courage in my heart
That is waiting to shine on my darkest day
And I'll never take it for granted
Let's go
The crowd cheered for us again and then we began to hear our fans screaming for us, including those who are crying after hearing the news about me leaving both Canada and the band.
"We love you, Alexis!"
"We'll miss you, Alexis!!"
"You'll always be our favourite singer!!"
"We won't ever forget you!!"
I was close to crying myself after hearing my fan club but, I managed to hold them back before speaking up again.
"Thank you so much, you guys have been brilliant and thank you for supporting us over the years! have a great night!"
The crowd cheered for us as we walked off the stage. Once we got backstage, the tears that I held back came spilling out. Jessie noticed this and then he shouted.
"Uh oh! comfort her John! hurry!!"
"Me?! why do I have to do it?! shouldn't it be another woman comforting her friend's broken heart?!"
Lizzy hugs me tightly while those two bickered who should comfort me. I giggled a little as I wiped away my tears and I spoke up.
"Guy I'm fine."
I said as I wiped away my tears. Jessie gave me a tissue and I gently wiped away my tears since I was wearing mascara and eye shadow.
"Oh good grief, I must look like a panda right now."
"Hehe, but, if you were, you would look a beautiful panda in our eyes."
"Thanks, Liz."
I spoke with a smile and then we had one last group hug before leaving the building. After greeting our fan club and receiving their gifts, we were on our way home.
"Woo-hoo!! that was so much!"
Lizzy said in a happy tone and then Jessie ruined the moment by dropping the bombshell.
"Even though it was Alexis' last performance with us?"
Lizzy stopped in her tracks and she was about to cry. John whacked Jessie's head and he shouted at him.
"Idiot!"
"What?"
I patted Lizzy's head and I said to her.
"Don't cry Lizzy, we can still face time each other whenever we want, so don't let this bother you."
"But, who's gonna be the one to comfort me when I'm sad? who's gonna join me for a girls' only sleepover? You've been like a big sister to me since I joined the band."
"And you've been like a little sister to me, Lizzy, listen..."
I placed my hand on her shoulders.
"No matter where I am whether it's here or in Japan, I'll always be there for you, if you ever feel the need to talk to me, call me on skype or if you ever feel like a visit, I'll come to you or you guys can visit me."
Lizzy smiled at this and then she hugs me tightly.
"I'll miss you, big sis!!" I giggled a little and I hugged her back.
Jessie and John joined in the hug even though it was the very last time I'll be hanging out with these guys. We got back to our neighbourhood and then we went separate ways back to our homes. I walked along that lonely and quiet pavement until I stopped in my tracks to look at the full moon.
'In a few weeks, I'll be leaving this country to the busy streets of Kyoto...I'm glad that tonight was our last performance because this was a special night that I will never forget...'
