ALEX'S POV

The sun rose that morning and my body felt nice and warm right now especially since lying in bed felt nice right about now.

'Ugh...I don't wanna get up, lying here feels so nice right now...'

I thought to myself as I smiled in my sleep and then I opened my eyes to find Nobunaga asleep next to me. I sat up a little and he was sleeping like a log. I smiled at him and I admired his handsome features right now and then I ran the back of my fingers on his cheek and then he groaned a little. I giggled a little and I laid back down on his chest.

"He's so cute and handsome right now!"

"Isn't he? but still..."

I looked at the faded claw marks on Nobunaga's shoulders and I felt a bit bad.

"I feel bad for nearly letting you get out of control, I thought for sure you would have hurt him."

"Sorry, I tried to hold back but, it's hard to resist that man's charms and-"

"Shut up!"

I shouted at Shadow which silenced her. However, it did make me wonder though, what would Nobunaga be like if he did turn into a werewolf?

I glanced at Nobunaga and he was still asleep. I quietly moved his arm off me and I got changed into my kimono. Once I was ready, I tied my hair into a ponytail and then I heard Nobunaga stirring but, it sounded like he was having a nightmare.

"...No...no...! don't!" Nobunaga shouted.

"Nobunaga, Nobunaga! wake up!" I said as I shook him a little.

Nobunaga shot his eyes open and he looked around and he looked...scared. When he looked at me, he seemed relieved before laying back down on the futon. I placed my hand on his chest and I smiled at him.

"Are you all right? bad dream?"

"Yeah..."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"It's about...*sighs* that night when that assassin came to my room and...it's also another reason why I don't like sleeping alone," Nobunaga looked away from me.

"I see, that explains it but, you don't have to worry though..." I gently stroked his cheek with a smile.

"You won't be sleeping alone again because I'm here and aside from the nightmares, is it still a good morning?"

"*Chuckles* it's perfect," Nobunaga said as he stroked my cheek.

We smiled at each other before I gently pressed my forehead against his before he spoke up.

"Hmpf, I didn't think I'd feel this happy and I don't deserve it."

"What are you talking about? you may be a Devil and some people may fear you but, I'm a werewolf and that's what we have in common. Some people fearing us because we're monsters but, deep down, we have hearts."

"You're right...as I said, I don't deserve your love."

"But you do, why else did I hand over my heart, body and soul to you, Devil King?"

"Point taken, I love you."

"I love you too," I spoke with a smile on my face.

We leaned closer and then we kissed with passion. Nobunaga wrapped his arms around me and he held me close to deepen the kiss. Nobunaga pulled away from me and then he starts to kiss and suck on my neck. I giggled a little and I told him.

"Nobunaga, I've got work to do."

"Take the day off, I like it when we're lying in bed together."

"You've got an army to prepare, remember?"

"Let Hideyoshi handle it."

"Hehe, you're so helplessly in love with me aren't you?"

"I can't help myself, besides, I liked it when you were feisty last night," Nobunaga said with a smirk against my skin.

I squeaked when Nobunaga rolled and he got on top of me. I giggled at him as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Nobunaga, I just got changed into this kimono!"

"Then you shouldn't have bothered changing, it would have saved me the bother."

I smiled as Nobunaga kissed my neck and he opened the collar of my kimono. 

"Lord Nobunaga?"

My eyes widen in shock when I heard Hideyoshi's voice and Nobunaga stopped what he doing when the sliding door opened. 

"Are you awake? I wanted to check with- ah!! Alex?!"

Hideyoshi shouted in shock when he saw us. I frowned at Hideyoshi and I shouted.

"Hideyoshi! get the hell out of here!!"

I threw a pillow at him but it ended up hitting the door after he left in a rush. I groaned and I hid my face in my hands.

"Well, that was embarrassing," Nobunaga commented with a frown.

"Is that all you have to say?! I think we just traumatised him and now, he and the other warlords are gonna gossip about us!"

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people finding out about us but, not like this."

"Fair enough, anyway, now that the moment is ruined," Nobunaga got off me and he went to get changed into his kimono. "We've got work to do."

"*Sighs* so it would seem," I mumbled disappointedly.

After I made myself look decent, I left the Tenshu and Hideyoshi stood there with a red face. I leaned close to his face before he could say anything.

"You say one word about what you saw, you'll meet every wolf I know in Azuchi and they will tear you limb from limb, are we clear?"

"*Gulp* clear as crystal."

"Good."

I left the traumatised Hideyoshi alone as I went back to work. 

A FEW DAYS LATER...

After a couple of days of preparing and gathering supplies, we were now ready to go to war. Right now, we were walking through the fields and I was sitting behind Nobunaga while he was riding his horse. Nobunaga's horse was nervous at first but, after a while, it got used to me. I glanced up at the sky and then Nobunaga said to me.

"Worried about the full moon?"

"Not really, the full moon has passed already, it's not coming again in another month or so."

"I see, you're not going to use your werewolf powers against Uesugi Kenshin?"

"No way, not unless it's necessary."

"Tell me something, are you werewolves immortal?"

I giggled a little and when Nobunaga looked over his shoulder I told him.

"You know something, I asked Dominic the same thing, he did say we are immortal and he also once told me about a legend."

"What's this legend about?"

"This legend is about the original werewolf race. It is said this particular race was said to have lived 800 years of being in captivity with no food or water, apparently, this werewolf was said to have been in a state of hibernation before the second breed of werewolves, which are the Lycans were born."

"Interesting, what are the Lycans?"

"They're also a breed of werewolves but, they're known as the second breed. The Lycans are also known as the first blood of the werewolf race, a very ancient breed in my opinion."

Nobunaga looked impressed when I told him this. He looked straight ahead and he asked me.

"Alex, if something were to happen to me and if I were on the brink of death, would you turn me into a werewolf?"

I looked at Nobunaga with a shocked look on my face.

"What?! why would ask me something like that? I already told you, I can't turn a human into a werewolf without their permission and my Alpha's consent. As I told you, there are rules and traditions that we have to follow, Lady Selene will curse me if I did that."

"Except you're not with your pack anymore, you've made a choice to stay with me."

I looked at Nobunaga with a surprised look on my face and he continued.

"Alex, if something were to happen to me, don't be afraid of me dying, it's up to you whether to save my life or not. In other words, my life is in your hands."

"Nobunaga..." I was surprised by his comment and I then smiled afterwards. "All right, it's a promise."

I spoke with a smile as I wrapped my arms around his waist. Masamune heard us and he smirked at us before riding next to us.

"You two seem friendly with each other, is there something going on there, lass?"

"None of your bee's wax, Masamune!" I spoke harshly and then he backed off.

"Whoa, okay jeez fine, no need to bite my head off."

Masamune told me as he went ahead. I looked at Nobunaga and I asked him.

"Was I too harsh there?"

"A little bit, however, they're gonna find out about us sooner or later."

"We might let them know, after the war."

I spoke with a smirk. Nobunaga shook his head at me and I asked him.

"Hey Nobunaga, is it all right for me to go for a little run in my wolf form?"

"No."

"Aw, why not? I'm bored out of my mind."

"With Kennyo running about, I can't have you leaving my side."

"Well, it's too bad I never listen to men."

Nobunaga looked at me shocked before I leapt off his horse and running into the bushes.

"Hey! Alex! get back here!" Masamune shouted at me before he tried to chase after me.

However, by the time he found me, I had taken off my kimono and shifted into my wolf form. I emerged from the bushes with my folded kimono in my mouth. Masamune sighed annoyingly and he asked me.

"How did you transform so quickly?"

"Dirty one-eyed Dragon, trying to get a sneak-a-peak at Alex, are we?" Shadow spoke up in my mind.

I walked over to Masamune and he took my clothes in his hand before I ran off to stretch my legs. The other vassals watched me run through the field in my wolf form and I chased after small animals like hares and baby deer. 

NOBUNAGA'S POV

I shook my head while watching Alex in her wolf form. She continued to chase after small animals until we reached the village that we were gonna spend the night. I dismounted my horse and I looked at Alex.

"Transform back into a human."

"Not in front of the others! now give me back my kimono!"

Alex shouted in my head while I had a hold of her clothes in my arm. I smirked at her and while the others were busy settling into their rooms for the night, I walked over to the bushes where Alex planned to transform, however, I wasn't giving her clothes back.

"Nobunaga! give me back my clothes!"

"Turn back into your human form and I might consider it."

Alex growled at me and then she nipped my leg a little. I chuckled when she missed me and then she leapt into the air and she tried to grab her clothes back from me but, I continued to dodge her attacks. Suddenly, Alex got behind me and then she pounced on top of me. She growled at me and then she wags her tail before licking my face.

"Ah! all right! all right! stop it!!" I shouted as I shoved her away from me only for Alex to snatch her clothes from me and hides behind a bush.

I sat up and then Alex came back and she was wearing her kimono and she had a smirk plastered onto her face.

"Hehe, a clever plan to see my naked body Nobunaga but, not clever enough to dodge my attacks."

"Dammit!" I shouted with a frown while Alex laughed at me.

ALEX'S POV

Nobunaga stood up from the ground and I said to him.

"Hey don't worry about it, you'll get see my body..." I leaned closer to his ear and whispered. "When we're alone and in a dark room."

"That offer I can definitely accept," Nobunaga spoke with a grin on his before throwing me over his shoulder.

"Kya! hey! put me down!"

"Not until we get back to the inn."

I giggled quietly as Nobunaga carried me over his shoulder. We got back to the inn and then Nobunaga puts me back down on the ground. The Daiymo is an old friend and ally of Nobunaga's and he was kind enough to let us stay at his guesthouse and we've got a feast waiting for us. As the Daiymo showed us to the dining room, he stopped for a moment and then he started to sneeze.

"*Achoo!!*"

"Bless you," I told him and then he smiled at me.

"Thank you, lady Alex but, if I may ask, have you been near any dogs recently?"

"No, not really, why? don't tell me you're allergic to dogs."

"I'm afraid I am, *Achoo!*"

I stepped away from him before he sneezed and then Nobunaga told him.

"Uh...we'll make our own way to the dining room, excuse us."

Nobunaga and I walked away from him and then I started laughing.

"Did you see the look on his face?! hahahaha!"

"It's not funny, Alex. What do you think would happen if he found out that you're a werewolf?"

I stopped laughing and then I said to him.

"You're right, He would have killed me and used my pelt as a trophy like any hunter would."

"Exactly, try and be more careful when you're around other people."

"Not my fault that I stink like a dog," I spoke with a smirk on my face.

Nobunaga smirked back at me and he then whispered.

"The only way to make sure that you don't smell like one is to give you a bath, how about I wash you after dinner?"

I blushed bright red when he said this and I then scooted away from him.

"No! I hate baths!"

"Don't run away from me," Nobunaga held me close before we approached the dining room.

Once we got there the vassals along with Masamune and Ieyasu were there. I sat next to Nobunaga and the food smells nice. I couldn't wait to try the food and I was starving, even though I had some prey for lunch earlier. However, before I could taste the peasant, I took another sniff at the food and I noticed there was a funny smell. It smelled as if it was...poisonous?!

I grabbed Nobunaga's wrist and I told him.

"Nobunaga! don't eat that!"

"What? what's wrong?"

Before I could tell him what was wrong some of the vassals had already collapsed onto the floor. Ieyasu immediately checked them over and he told us.

"They've been poisoned!"

Nobunaga and I were shocked by this and then I knew immediately who could have done this. I stormed out of the dining hall and I went to search for the innkeeper. The moment I found him, I saw red. He looked at me nervously and he asked me.

"I-Is something the matter, Lady Alexander?"

"Something is wrong all right, you tried to kill me and my mate...that's unacceptable."

Rage took over me and then I shifted into my wolf form. The Daiymo and the people who aided him looked at me in fear. I snarled and growled at them and then I attacked them all. The Daiymo's soldier tried to attack me but, I grabbed him by the neck and I snapped it in half with my jaws. The Daiymo tried to make a run for it but, by the time I was done with his men, I chased after him and I pinned him down. 

"Please! Please don't kill me!" He begged and pleaded but, Shadow was having none of it.

"Let me kill him! I'm gonna send this guy to hell!"

"Don't Shadow! we need him alive so he can tell us why he did it and who asked him to poison us!"

"But that's no excuse to keep him alive! let me kill him for trying to kill our mate!!"

Before Shadow could finish him off, Nobunaga got to us in time and he shouted.

"That's enough, Shadow!"

Shadow stopped mid-way before her fangs could pierce the Daiymo's neck. She pulled away from him but, she kept the man pinned down. Nobunaga stood next to us and he glared at the Daiymo.

"Yorimasa, you've been an ally and a friend to the Oda forces, so why betray us now? who paid you to kill us?"

"I'm not telling you a damn thing!"

"Very well, Shadow..."

Shadow nodded her head and then she snarled and growled before she started to crush his chest with her large paw. Yorimasa screamed in pain and he tapped on Shadow's paw and he shouted.

"All right! all right! I'll tell you! it was the monk from Hogan-ji! he paid me to poison all of you! he knew you and your men were arriving at Echigo!! ahh!! he paid me in good money to get rid of you once and for all!!"

Shadow's anger got worse and then Nobunaga frowned.

"I see..." Nobunaga turned his back towards us and he then told Shadow. "Shadow, kill him."

"With pleasure!" Shadow shouted in victory.

"You've got a monster on your side! Devi King! this woman is cursed!!"

"I was not cursed, I was blessed to have this gift. Shadow, do it."

I told her and then she didn't waste any time by biting into the daimyo's neck and spraying blood on the wall and floors. By the time the Daiymo was dead, I shifted back to my human form and changed back into my kimono. I wiped the blood from my mouth as I headed back into the manor. Masamune spotted the blood around my mouth and he asked me.

"Alex...did you-"

"So what if I was the one who killed him off? he tried to kill my mate and I won't let anything like that happen again."

Masamune spotted the anger in my eyes as I walked past him and I headed to mine's and Nobunaga's room. Once I got there, he was already there sitting on the tatami mat waiting for me. He looked at me and he noticed the smudges of the blood I had wiped from my mouth earlier.

"Is he gone?"

"Yeah..." I told him before I sat on his lap and wrapping my arms around his neck. 

"Talk to me..." Nobunaga spoke to me calmly while stroking my hair and hugging me close. "What happened back there? I've never seen you kill someone in rage before, it wasn't like you."

"I don't know myself...but, since I found my mate or rather you...I felt some kind of protective instinct take over and then I saw red...I'm so sorry you had to see that, I don't know what came over me."

"Shh...it's okay, it's over now."

"But is it though?" I asked him while gripping the shoulder of his kimono. "What if Kennyo is still out there waiting for the right moment to take us down while being recovered from the poison's effects?"

"Don't worry, if that were to happen I'll protect you no matter what."

I pulled away a little to look at Nobunaga's face and he looked so calm when he said those words and when he soothed me. I held his face in my hands and with my right hand, I ran my fingers through his hair and I couldn't hold back the urge to kiss him. Nobunaga was surprised at first but, he kissed me back. I opened my mouth a little and I let Nobunaga's tongue explore my mouth.

I wasn't sure what came over me but, after tonight's events, I felt like I needed to be near him, to feel him and to touch him. My mate, my lover. I wanted him, all of him. I gently pushed Nobunaga onto the floor with me on top of him without breaking the kiss. I straddled his waist and I started to kiss his neck and jawline. Nobunaga gasped a little and he moaned a little. However, before I could help him out of his armour, Nobunaga grabbed my hand and he stopped me.

"Wait, Alex."

I looked at him with a confused and shocked look.

"What? what's the matter?"

"As much as I want to bring you pleasure, but, I've got to check up on my men."

"Fair enough...I'm sorry..." I said as I got off him. "I should have known better...I guess a part of me wanted to know that you're still alive and well..."

Nobunaga sat up and he had a smirk on his face.

"It's all right, but, once I get back, we'll pick up where we left off and maybe I might give you that bath later."

"Hey! don't bring that up again!" I scolded him making him chuckle.

Nobunaga stood up after I got off his lap and he told me.

"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere."

"All right..."

I said as he left the room. Once he was gone, I could feel Shadow's uneasiness and she said to me.

"I'm glad to know that he's all right but, you were right about one thing, Kennyo is still out there. I can sense it."

"Yeah, me too. I don't think I'm able to sit still and wait for Nobunaga. I don't want to leave him but, somehow I get the feeling this nightmare isn't over, I gotta go and check something."

I told Shadow before I headed to the forest. I looked around a little and that was when a familiar scent hit my nose. It was the scent of death and the scent of that same poison that was used on the vassals. I frowned a little and when I found Kennyo, he was talking to one of his men.

"Well?"

"His vassals have been poisoned but, their healer, Tokugawa Ieyasu, is treating them as we speak but, they're still weakened from the poison."

"And what about Yorimasa?" Kennyo asked his brother but, I knew what he was gonna answer if he saw me.

"...Yorimasa didn't make it, I saw what happened. The Devil King's woman, Alexander...I'm not sure what it was but...she turned into some kind of wolf..."

"A wolf? that's impossible unless...it's witchcraft!"

"It must be, I'm not so sure how she did it but, she turned into this large black wolf with sharp blue eyes."

"A black wolf...wait, no it can't be..."

"Abbot? is something wrong?"

I smirked at Kennyo before emerging from the bushes.

"So you've finally figured it out have you?"

Kennyo and his men looked at me with a shocked look on their faces. Kennyo frowned at me but, he smirked at me afterwards.

"Aren't you brave, coming out here on your own without the help of your Devil King."

"Unlike the Devil King, I'm stronger and braver than him. It would seem I was right about one thing about you, you were there that night when you tried to kill him at Honno-Ji.

"And I was very close to murdering him as well if you hadn't interfered!" Kennyo shouted angrily.

"Hmpf, if you want to kill him, you're gonna have to get through me first."

3RD PERSON POV

Alex spoke with a smirk on her face before the half-moon appeared in the night sky. Alex shifted into her wolf form which scared Kennyo and his men. Alex snarled and growled at the monks and then she started to attack them. Alex swiped the monks with her right paw and she sent them flying and then she bites and snaps the necks of the monks. Kennyo couldn't believe what he was witnessing and he didn't know what to do as he watched this demon take down his men.

Alex glared at Kennyo and then she stood on her hind legs and she was ready to kill Kennyo. He quickly took out his blade from his staff and he tried to attack her but, Alex dodge his attack and she bites his blade with her mouth. Kennyo tried to shake Alex off his blade but she was too strong for him. Kennyo looked at his men and he shouted.

"Men! go to the manor and takedown Nobunaga!"

"What about that demon?!"

"If you want to help me then be careful! we're dealing with witchcraft!"

Alex released Kennyo's blade and then some of Kennyo's men tried to attack Alex but she growled at them before howled at them loudly. Some of the monks stood there in fear when they heard Alex's howl. Kennyo frowned and he shouted.

"What are you waiting for?! attack her!"

The monks were nervous and terrified when they heard Alex's howl and then she used her claws on them. The monks screamed in pain before landing harshly onto the ground and they died instantly with the rest of them. Alex turned her attention towards Kennyo but, he had escaped to the battlefield with his men.

"Dammit! time to call for help and a warning!" Alex told Shadow.

"I know!"

Shadow shouted before she howled loudly. The oda forces heard Alex's howl and Nobunaga knew what that meant when he saw the incoming monks charging towards them.

"For those who are not affected by the poison! stand ready!"

"A night raid?! about time!" Masamune spoke with a smile on his face before charging towards the monks.

Back in the woods, Shadow was able to call for help and Zion joined her on the battlefield along with his pack.
