ALEX'S POV

I ran and ran through the woods in my wolf form. After Selene's visit last night, I knew that I had a future here in the Sengoku and it was with my mate, Nobunaga. However, I needed to get back to his side and help him win this fight. Suddenly, the smell of gunpowder and fire hit my nose and that was when I realised the fight had begun.

"Oh no, the fight has already started!"

"Don't stop running now! keep going! we're almost there!"

Shadow encouraged me before I continued to run through the woods. We eventually got to the battlefield and I was shocked when I saw the fight between the Oda and the Uesugi army. 

"Oh God, I thought the fights back home were bad but, this is worse!"

"Don't start now! let's go and find Nobunaga!"

"Right but, where is he? it's hard to tell from the scent of smoke and gunpowder."

I said as I looked for him frantically. I darted my head back and forth to spot Nobunaga amongst this chaos but so far, I couldn't see him. I couldn't stay hidden in the edge of the forest any longer so I had to run through the battlefield to find Nobunaga. As I ran through the battlefield, I watched some of our soldiers getting stabbed and shot by the Uesugi soldiers. I couldn't let that distract me because I had to keep looking for Nobunaga.

"Dammit! where is he?!"

"Wait a second, maybe he's at the frontlines! try there!"

"Are you crazy Shadow?! it's like pandamonium over there! we'll be killed!"

"And so will Nobunaga if we don't help him!"

"Ugh, I hate it when you're always right!"

I said as I sprinted through the battlefield. As I ran through the field, some of the soldiers were a bit surprised to see a wolf running through the field but, some of the Oda soldiers recognised me but, they didn't have time to stop me from getting to Nobunaga. Just then, that familiar scent of sweet candy and roses hit my nose. I wagged my tail and then I followed the scent. However, when I got there, Nobunaga was surrounded by several Uesugi soldiers.

"He's surrounded!"

"Not for much longer! fight them Shadow!!"

"You don't need to tell me twice!"

Shadow told me before she howled loudly which stopped the Uesugi's soldiers from coming closer to Nobunaga. They looked in my direction and then I let Shadow take over.

SHADOW'S POV

I charged towards the soldiers and then I growled loudly before leaping into the air and biting the soldier's neck. Blood spurted out of his neck and when I released the soldier's neck, I glared at the other soldiers and they looked at me in fear. 

"W-What is that thing?!"

"Is that a wolf?!"

"That can't be a wolf! it looks too big!"

I growled as I got in front of Nobunaga protectively and then one of the soldiers snapped out of it and he shouted.

"Forget that mutt! get the Devil King!!"

The soldiers shouted their battle cry but, I was too fast and agile for them. I swiped them with my claws and I bite their limbs with my fangs. One of the soldiers charged at me with his sword at the ready but I pounced on him and held him down. The soldier looked at me in fear before I bit down on his neck and it killed him instantly. I looked up and then the remaining soldiers scrambled away from me and they ran away from me. I smirked a little and I mumbled.

"Victory!"

"It's not over yet!"

Alex shouted in my head and then we saw reinforcements. I growled loudly and then Nobunaga stood next to me.

"Don't worry Alex, he will be coming soon."

"He?"

Alex and I asked him in unison until we saw dust approaching and once it had cleared, Mitsuhide led the reinforcements. Mitsuhide was at the head of a large force of men, their flag bearing the Oda crest.

"Take aim!"

At Mitsuhide's signal, his horse back-mounted riflemen aimed their matchlocks at the enemy.

"Fire!"

The first row of men fired, followed by the second. The battlefield was a thunderstorm of sound.

'I knew guns had a big impact in this period. Now I can see why!'

The enemy's ranks broke apart like tissue paper. The panicked men fled every which way. In an instant, Nobunaga's forces took the initiative and drove off the rest of Uesugi's troop. The Oda cheered at their victory and I howled in victory as well.

TIME SKIP...

ALEX'S POV

We found a village that was affiliated with the Oda and right now, I was looking for Nobunaga and I found him with Masamune, Hideyoshi and Mitushide. I wagged my tail and then I ran towards him.

"Nobunaga!"

Nobunaga looked at me and then I pounced onto him which knocked him off his feet. I licked his face excitedly and I shouted through the mind-link.

"Oh Nobunaga! I am so sorry for running away! I am never ever leaving your side again! I love you so much!"

"Hahaha! Alex! stop it! cut it out!!"

"I can't help it! you smell and taste so good right now!!"

"I said stop it! get off!"

Nobunaga gently pushed me away, he sat up fro the ground and he wipes the dog drool off his face. Masamune and the others laughed at him and then Masamune spoke up.

"Looks like someone is happy to see you."

"I know but, I don't like it when she does that, it doesn't wash out and it rusts my armour."

I whined a little when Nobunaga said that. Nobunaga sighed and then patted my head with a small smile on his face. I wagged my tail and then Hideyoshi said to me.

"Honestly, don't ever run away like that ever again, you hear?"

I barked in response and then Mitsuhide asked me.

"Why haven't you transformed back to your human form yet?"

I growled angrily at Mitsuhide and then Nobunaga told him.

"She can't, not when you're watching her. In case if you haven't forgotten, whenever Alex transforms, well..."

Masamune and Mitsuhide understood this and then Mitsunari came back with a change clothes for me.

"Here you go Alex, you can change into these."

I took the kimono from Mitsunari and I went into one of the tents so no one can see me shift into my human form. Once I reverted back to my human form, I got changed into the kimono that Mitsunari gave me which was a light blue kimono and then I emerged from the tent while stretching my aching muscles.

"You okay Lass?" Masamune asked me.

"Honestly, you guys have no idea how happy I am to be back in my human form."

"Why? what's the problem? I thought you like transforming into that wolf form of yours."

"Firstly, it's called shifting and secondly, I do like being in my wolf form but, not for long periods of time. It takes its toll on my human body."

"I see."

I looked at Nobunaga and he told the others to go away so we can talk in private. Once we were alone, I looked at Nobunaga and I told him.

"Nobunaga, I am so sorry for running away. When those guys talked down on me I just freaked out and I didn't feel like I- hmpf?!"

My sentence was cut off when Nobunaga suddenly kissed my lips and he held me close. Nobunaga deepened the kiss and I kissed him back while I wrapped my arms around his neck. Finally, Nobunaga pulled away from my lips and I was left breathless. I looked at Nobunaga and he said to me.

"It's all right, you don't need to explain yourself. My men were afraid of you but, they won't be for much longer, from now on, I'll make sure they respect you and treat you well and if they don't, well let's just say Masamune and Hideyoshi will take care of that."

"Hehe, arigato."

I hugged Nobunaga tightly in my arms and then he whispered in my ear.

"You know, I would've strategised for our next attack against Uesugi but right now, I want to hold you in my arms...in bed."

I blushed a little and then I squeaked a little when he picks me up like a bride. I giggled a little as he carried me to our room. Once we got to our room, I helped Nobunaga out of his armour and when I got his armour off, I couldn't help but, open the collar of his kimono and I started to kiss and suck on his neck while my hands ran over his chest.

"Oy, I thought I was the one who was supposed to pleasure you."

"Shut up!" I spoke in a harsh tone before shoving him onto the futon.

I smirked at him and I said to him.

"I've been away from you for more than a day, I've been desperately searching for you and now that I'm finally back with you and I want to hold you and touch you like this."

I said as I ran my hands over his chest and then I took off my kimono and I tossed it in his face. 

Nobunaga chuckled and he tossed it to the side before I placed my hands on his wrists. I guided them to my chest and I let him touch me. Nobunaga sat up and then he held my hips before I started moving them against his. Nobunaga groaned a little before kissing my lips and then I felt his hand squeezing my behind making me gasp in pleasure. I let Nobunaga's tongue search my mouth while our hands touched each other's bodies. Nobunaga pulled away from my lips and then he starts to attack my neck and chest with those lips.

"*Moan* Nobunaga...my mate..." I spoke in a husky voice while running my fingers through his hair.

"Alex...my love..." Nobunaga whispered in that sexy whisper of his.

Nobunaga pins me down on the bed and then he said to me.

"Prepare yourself, Alex. I'm going to pleasure you until the morning."

"Fine by me," I spoke with a smirk on my face as I let him in between my legs. "You can pleasure me all you want, my little Devil."

Nobunaga smirked back at me and then he kisses me on the lips and that's when our endless night of passion began.
