2018 CONTEST [CLOSED]
hiya my loves!! first of all, happy summer and watty season (I'm so soo excited but its my fourth year entering and being a pea I won't win anything aha)!

So I'm excited to announce that I'll be holding yet another graphic contest (I know there are a few going on at the moment, please don't get mad at me).

And before you all go 'ah she's going to ask us to make covers for her books,' I promise I'm not (well only for one of the contests but that's minor) ;)

There are three contests I'll be holding, so you can choose the 1, 2, or 3 contests you're most suited to, and they will all be judged separately, with separate first place winners and runners up.

ALSO MY BIRTHDAY IS ON THE 18TH OF JUNE WOOO AND IM GOING TO BE AN ADULT AND I AM NOT READY FOR THIS RESPONSIBILITY XD (but at least I'll be able to buy alcohol 😂)

TO ENTER
- State your favourite fruit (or if you're lazy like me 'i'm in'), and tag three people

CONTEST ONE
- Choose your favourite book on wattpad, and design a cover for it

- Try and be unique with your design, and try to find a new style as well as branch out and try new techniques. Really stretch yourself, because that it the only way you're going to improve :)

- Take into consideration the genre of the book you have chosen, as well as the cast, and think about what typical covers of the genre have on them and you can decide to either conform or subvert these conventions (e.g. horror books generally have red text, so you could go against this and use orange text)

- Do NOT copy anyone else's work! Plagiarism is illegal and it's not cool

- You can enter up to three covers for one to three different books

- Dimensions should be 512 x 800 or 640 x 1000

- Lacking inspiration? Look up wattpad cover inspiration boards on Pinterest

- Post your entries in a misc book and tag me in the chapter and/or comments, or DM me the link <33

CONTEST TWO
- Create opening credits for either your own book, or for one of your favourite books on wattpad

- This is not restricted to people with Sony Vegas Pro or Final Cut Pro. Anyone with any video editor can enter, and trust me you can create beautiful opening credits even in Windows Live Movie Maker.

- Try and be unique with your opening credits, and experiment with colour and text, as well as adding a distinct soundtrack

- It should be between 25-60 seconds long (however this is a guideline)

- You can create opening credits with just scenery and objects, or with the cast as well. I normally choose one or the other as it makes the opening credits easier to focus on.

- Your music should relate to the genre of the book. Slow or cinematic music typically works well for darker opening credits or music with no lyrics. I'd definitely look at artists such as Mark Diamond and Ruelle when looking for music.

- You can find YouTube clips for your opening credits by searching things such as Forest HD, Timelapse of flower blooming, Rose stock footage, Eiza Gonzalez clips etc (I have a few saved on my liked videos playlist on YT)

- You can  enter up to two opening credits

- You can submit your video however is easiest for you, but I recommend uploading it to YouTube and publishing it in a misc book or sending me the link via DM. You can delete your video after the contest is over if you want to.

CONTEST THREE
- Create a cover for this book, 'Ikea'

- it should state 'graphics by supernovass' on the cover

- Try to be unique and creative with your cover, and branch out by trying new techniques and styles you haven't explored yet

- The cover can be light or dark, depending on what you're most comfortable making (I know the title relates more to a light cover, but dark covers are just as beautiful)

- Preferred colours would be yellow and blue, due to the Ikea logo colours, however I do not mind if you choose a different colour palette

- I'd prefer a POC model/faceclaim (e.g. Sohni Ahmed), and images sourced from pinterest are preferred, however, use any face claim you would like (unless you're doing a text-based cover) - the celebrities I love are Lindsey Morgan, Tom Holland, DJ Cotrona (!!), Eiza Gonzalez, Phoebe Tonkin, Daniel Gillies, Ivana Baquero, Vanessa Morgan, Kiersey Clemons, Sofia Black D'elia, Bob Morley, Emeraude Toubia, Kat Graham (to be honest anyone from TVD, The Originals, and the Marvel Universe)

- Ideas would be to have the model surrounded by PNGs, such as flowers and multiple doodles for a light cover. I love 'collage style' covers, as well as covers that reflect the layout of professional posters/design (as shown below)

- You can enter up to three covers

- Dimension of your cover should be 512 x 800 or 640 x 1000
