Ignorance 14

“Soobin, what’s with you and Beomgyu? If it’s too personal then—”

“Nothing,” Soobin cut Yeonjun off right before he ends his question. “There’s nothing. No particular,” he adds and glances at him.

Yeonjun just nods. He’s accepting the fact that Soobin will not tell anything about the real case and he’s fine with that. He doesn’t need to force someone to speak up.

“So, what’s your plan for the Art day?” Yeonjun asks instead.

“I’ll still probably paint or draw…” Soobin replied. “But you know what?”

“Hmm?” Yeonjun hum and reply as they reach Studio 3 and open the door.

They both enter and that’s when Soobin speaks. “The first time I saw you act was a year ago.”

“Really?” Yeonjun smiles in surprise. “I didn’t know I’ll catch your attention.”

“Your acting was good… maybe that’s why,” Soobin comments. “You were so immersed with your role. I won’t argue with those who are casting you to be an actor,” he added and takes a seat on the couch.

“Oh Soobin,” Yeonjun grins and sit beside him. “You know how to acknowledge people’s talent now?” he teases him.

Soobin just stare, “I’m just saying the truth.”

“Thank you,” Yeonjun chuckles. “I have class in 15 minutes so I won’t stay here for long.”

Soobin nods, “Okay,” he simply agrees. “I might not be here tomorrow.”

“Why? Do you have plans?”

“I’m going home,” Soobin answered. “In our family house,” he clarified.

“Oh right, you’re living in apartment with Taehyun,” Yeonjun nods. “Take care then,” Yeonjun smiles, gently patting Soobin’s head.

“Yeonjun,” Soobin calls him and Yeonjun pays attention to him. “My mom… once told me I am a monster…”

Yeonjun’s eyes widen for a bit but stayed focus to the other. Soobin continued, “I think it’s true…”

“Why do you think?” Yeonjun asks in worry.

Soobin leans on the couch and stares at the ceiling. “Because I really am…” he confirms. “Do you also believe that?”

“No…” Yeonjun disagreed. “Yes, we have our own monster residing in us but we are much powerful than it. Maybe, there was only a trigger than made that monster in you broke the cage,” he pauses and sighs. “I hate it sometimes when you get crazy for a moment and people assume that’s the real you… When it’s just the side of you, you always never wanted to let others see.”

Soobin kept silent for seconds. “This monster in me… is untamable…” he pauses and moves his head sideways to stare at Yeonjun’s eyes. “Can you do it?”

Yeonjun smiles, held Soobin’s cheek, he lean forward, and kisses Soobin’s lips for seconds. He gently caresses Soobin’s skin and continues smiling.

“Think about this,” he pauses. “Others despise you so bad and so I should as well. But look, I’m here with you, holding you, kissing you, and doing everything I could just to help you,” he chuckles. “I don’t even know how or when did this start or maybe because I got caught with how persistent you are but Soobin… The monster they are pertaining, the monster you said you can’t tame, is also the monster I would love to make me insane.”

Yeonjun continue, “You’re the monster I would love to serve and help just to turn you into something beautiful. That’s why,” he holds Soobin’s hand, intertwining in with his fingers. “Worry not because you are going to be loved…”

Soobin was out of words. He’s feeling something he never felt before. What is this? He’s confused. He’s trying to grasp the idea that Yeonjun made him feel something new. He’s trying to comprehend what he just heard.

But one thing for sure, Choi Yeonjun is eager to tame him.

Why? Why Yeonjun’s making so much effort to a mentally-ill person? Why Yeonjun wants to hang out with a person like Choi Soobin?

Choi Soobin’s thoughts are all over his head. It’s messed up. Everything’s unfamiliar. It’s making him mad. He’s mad that he cannot understand. There are a lot of whys and how. So much new emotion for him to take in.

Soobin retracted his hand away from Yeonjun and he stand up. He walks away and Yeonjun got alarmed. “I’m sorry. Did I say something bad? I’m sorry. Did I make you feel uncomfortable?” Yeonjun is quick to apologize.

“N-no…” Soobin is confused. “It’s just…”

“I’m sorry, Soobin,” Yeonjun apologizes as well. “I’ll just stay here. Don’t worry, I won’t come near you if it’s making you uncomfortable,” Yeonjun repeats his apologies and stay with his sit in worry.

“I’m getting mad… You should go,” Soobin’s voice is low, suppressing his anger as much as he can.

Yeonjun stood up in panic. “I will… I will, okay? But first you need to calm down—”

“Go…”

“Soobin—”

“I said go away! Leave this room!”

Yeonjun pauses after Soobin shouted at him. He witness how mad Soobin’s eyes are. It’s throwing him daggers. Yeonjun can feel how much Soobin wanted to cast out all of his anger on him but trying to stop it so bad.

What should he do? Should he leave this madman alone or calm him down?

Maybe the latter… but how?

Yeonjun walk towards him and Soobin frowns in rage. “What are you doing? I said go—”

Soobin stops from talking when Yeonjun hugs him tight, leaning his head on Soobin’s shoulder. His hands at Soobin’s back are gently tapping. There are no words coming out from their mouth.

It’s a moment of silence between the two.

Soobin can actually feel Yeonjun’s heartbeat. It’s calm. How come Yeonjun’s heart still beating at a normal pace after witnessing Soobin’s madness?

Soobin is confused again. Did he really come to the right guy? Since then, Yeonjun is different from his past men but he didn’t know Yeonjun could be this different.

Maybe he can actually be… the right guy for him.

Yeonjun noticed how Soobin’s stiff body went calmer. His shoulders loosen up as Yeonjun’s continue his soft tapping at his back. His breathing also went slower and Yeonjun’s glad that he made the right thing to do.

“It’s okay… It’s fine not to figure out things for now…” Yeonjun whispered. “We’ll take time.”

How can Yeonjun be this kind?

Soobin’s hands slowly lifts up, wanting to hug the other back but he stops and just keep his hands beside him. He’s still confused by the sudden shifting of emotions.

“Let go… I’m fine,” Soobin said in his calm and deep voice.

Yeonjun nods in little and lift his gaze up to look at Soobin’s eyes while slowly letting go of him. “I’m sorry for invading your space… I hope you’re calm now. Call me if you needed me, okay? I’ll get going now,” he smiles and politely walks away from Soobin and closes the door.

After Yeonjun closes the door, he releases a deep breath and let go of the door’s handle before completely walking away. “I hope he’ll feel well…” he whispered to himself as he walks.

Inside the studio, Soobin is still standing still. He’s still lost after what happened. Everything is all over the place. He decided to grab a brush, put an empty canvas on easel and decided to stroke some lines.

Another way of Soobin’s figuring things out until he’s totally calm. As he keeps his hand in motion, it’s getting faster, the way he soak the brush is a bit hasty. The way he damp his brush on the canvas is aggressive. He can’t be calm.

“Fuck!” he shouted and throws the brush on the canvas that actually rips the part where the handle hit it.

A soft knocks was heard on the door, although he heard it, he didn’t bother to open it. He’s just blankly staring on the messed up canvas that has no other color than shades of black and gray.

The door opens but Soobin doesn’t seem to care. The one who entered is a man— that he surely knows. The man stopped in front of him and he meet Soobin’s empty yet confused eyes. He smirks.

“Why do you look like a trash?” he chuckles and slowly removes the ripped canvas and change to a new one. “Why? Yeonjun’s now stirring you up?”

Soobin didn’t reply anything. His mouth is shut and just see this guy pick up a brush, soak it in water and into the colored pallet he never uses.

“Yeonjun must be doing great, right?” the guy asks and went behind Soobin. He lean forward, his face is near Soobin’s, and he extended his hand to stroke on an empty canvas.

“Get lost,” Soobin demanded.

The guy just chuckles. “Why? I thought Yeonjun could calm you down? Why are you shaking right now?” he even teases him and glances at Soobin’s fist.

Soobin stand up, grab the guy by his collar and aim his fist but he stopped right before he hit the guy’s face. Soobin grins, “I hate it when we’re just the same.”

The other chuckles and gently places the brush on the table. He put his hand on Soobin’s cheeks. “I heard you killed someone…”

“Was it me? I thought it was you,” Soobin grin.

“Well if you said we’re just the same then maybe… It was also me?” he smirks.

“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure I kill you without anyone knowing,” Soobin stated with his dead smile.

The guy laughs, took a few steps away from Soobin and covers his mouth so he couldn’t go all out with his laughter. Then in split seconds, he stares at Soobin in his coldest eyes. “How? Just like how you killed your mom?”

“Son of bitch,” Soobin cursed. He come at the guy, put all his force on his fist with the goal to throw a hand on him but the other swifts his hand off.

Soobin loses balance, he felt his hand caught and put behind him then he got slammed on the wall with the guy behind him, pressing him against and his arm behind.

The man leans closer to him to whisper. “Let’s see how you will use Yeonjun against me, Soobin. I’m excited.”

“I see you’re provoking me,” Soobin laughs and gritted his teeth. “I will not use Yeonjun against you because I will kill you myself. You fucking bastard.”

Soobin resisted so he let go of him but still caught him off guard on the wall and cornered. He smirks. “Have you blown your steams off now?”

Soobin got taken aback. Right. This is how this guy can make him calm down. He will push Soobin on edge of anger, he will make Soobin focus on one thing, until Soobin will stop thinking on what’s actually messing up his head.

Clever yet deadly. Too risky and sinful.

Soobin’s frustrated body eventually loosens up. “I hate you so much,” Soobin almost whispered.

“Me too…” the other smiles. “You always made me feel like a sinner.”

The next thing that happened in there was Soobin being kissed by the man. It’s like their unspoken rule that only both of them knew. Soobin felt him getting pulled to deepen the kiss.

Who is this guy? How can he tame Soobin as if he knows him well? How long does they know about each other? What are their connections to each other?

The day ended without Soobin meeting Yeonjun back. He’s not in the mood to do so. Not when his pride got stepped on by someone he despises a lot.

Taehyun notice how Soobin is quiet. He keep on glancing at him from time to time while he’s driving. “D-did something bad happen?”

“Was it you?” Soobin asks.

“H-huh? What?” Taehyun stuttered. “I-I’m sorry… I n-needed to…” he apologizes.

“Drive home… to the mansion,” he ordered.

Taehyun stiffened. He gulps in and purses his lips. “Y-yes…” he answered.

“I don’t want any unnecessary danger. You get that, Kang Taehyun?”

“Yes… I get it.”
