Ignorance 12
“Another murder case has been discovered as the body of a 20-year old female found almost unrecognizable inside a black garbage bag…”
Kang Taehyun pauses from slurping his noodles and lift his head up to watch the current news inside the pub where he is eating. “What in the world…” he whispered and continued eating.
He decided to feed himself first before going back to the city where he’s going to face Soobin again. To be honest, Kang Taehyun never wanted to stay with Soobin, as we all know, he just doesn’t have any choice.
With being a constant absorber of Soobin’s wrath in everything and still being alive because of the same person— Kang Taehyun developed a Stockholm syndrome.
He badly wanted to leave Choi Soobin and yet he can’t take the fact that he needs Soobin and he needs to take care of him.
Kang Taehyun started walking towards the train station when he recognized a familiar face. “Oh! Hueningkai!” he called who he spotted on.
Hueningkai heard his name and look around who called him, and there he saw Taehyun waving his hand at a distant. He smiles back to Taehyun and decided to come forward.
“What the, why are you here?” Kai welcomed him.
“Oh, I visited my parent’s grave. I didn’t know this is also your province?” Taehyun answered.
Kai nods, “Yeah. My dad leaves here and it’s my grandma’s birthday so we celebrated,” he replied to Taehyun.
“Are you going back to the city as well?” Taehyun asked.
“Yes, you two?”
“Yep! Should we ride the train together?” Taehyun suggested.
“Sure, why not? Let’s go,” Kai chuckles and they started walking beside each other.
They buy a ticket that has the same seat, they bought some foods as well before getting on the train. Taehyun’s near the window and Kai’s beside him.
“Why’s Soobin not with you?” Kai started a conversation.
“Do you really think he cares about me?” Taehyun chuckles.
Kai frown a bit, “Then how about you? Why do you care so much about him?”
“It’s my job to be,” Taehyun answered. “Soobin is actually a loner and maybe that’s why he needed someone like your friend, Yeonjun.”
“How lucky he is,” Kai commented. “He found Yeonjun out of all people. That guy gives zero fucks about everything. All he thinks is how he can help others and make them comfortable,” he stated.
“Exactly what Soobin needed…” Taehyun sighs. “Poor Yeonjun.”
“Why?”
“Just…” Taehyun shrugs his shoulder. “Do you really think Yeonjun’s the first guy who showed him kindness?”
“Oh, so there are still people other than Yeonjun who actually wanted to be his friend? Wow,” Kai exclaimed in surprise.
Taehyun laughs at it and face Huening. “There are a lot… But Soobin…” he pauses and rethinks his thoughts. “You know him,” he just chuckle it out. “How about Yeonjun? Can you tell me something about him?” he started.
“That guy? Well aside from his good looks he’s really a good person. He saved me one time from an accident and that’s when I started being with him. He also sacrificed his examination once just to keep me accompanied after the band lost to a competition—”
“Really? He did that?” Taehyun reacted in amusement. “Whoa…”
“He’s also very really so much so slow to anger. His patience is unreachable. Just look at how he handles Choi Soobin,” he chuckles. “I only saw him get mad— like really mad for once and that never happened again.”
“How does a guy like Choi Yeonjun gets mad?”
“He could get worst that Soobin’s normal behavior. He also smashes people out,” Kai smiles. “He’s scary when he’s mad maybe because he knows how to control his emotions and once he let go for once, he really explodes.”
Taehyun nods at Huening’s statement. “At least he just smash people out…” he whispered and look outside the window of the moving train. “I know someone who kills if he just let all his rage out,” he thought and closes his eyes.
“You’re back!” Choi Yeonjun welcomes Hueningkai who stopped by Yeonjun’s parents’ restaurant.
Kai smiles, “Hi auntie!” he greeted Yeonjun’s mom who’s at the cashier. “Hey,” he grabs Yeonjun’s attention and they take a sit. “I’m with Taehyun on the train going back here,” he stated.
“Oh? So what happened?” Yeonjun asks, acting interested.
Kai shrugs his shoulder. “Nothing really, we both sleep on the ride and we just talked about you and Soobin.”
“Hey!” Yeonjun lightly taps Kai’s arm. “I haven’t forgive you yet for selling me out and now you’re gossiping?” he frowns.
The other laugh at Yeonjun’s reaction. “I’m sorry. It’s because he’s persistent! Anyway, we didn’t talk any shits about both of you but… are you really going to be that close to Soobin?”
“What about it?” Yeonjun leans on the wooden chair, extending his arms on the table.
“Well… Aside from his condition and behavior? He could get you hurt…” Kai sounded as a concern friend.
“One of the ways to get to know someone is to let them express all the emotions that they have,” Yeonjun smiles. “Besides, getting hurt is part of everything.”
“But you could get hurt-hurt—in all aspects! And don’t get me with those metaphor lines of yours because people will always hurt you when you keep on letting them. Also, does Soobin have other emotions aside from being fiery?”
Yeonjun purse his lips and look away. He remembered a certain night when he heard Soobin’s voice over the phone. He smiles. “Yes… he does. He still have that emotion that people oversee sometimes because it overshadowed by his anger.”
“You’re insane…”
Yeonjun laughs and even clap twice. “Are you hungry? I’ll cook for you-“
“No! I don’t want you,” Kai raged and stand up. “If anything really goes wrong, just know that I already warned you for a lot of times,” he rolled his eyes and went to his auntie to grab some food.
Yeonjun chuckles and let out a deep sigh. “There are still a lot more to know about Soobin… and I’m willing to dive in to know that incaged child inside him…” he stated to himself.
“Soobin?” Taehyun calls as soon as he opens the door and takes off his shoes but there are no responses.
He went to the kitchen area and put the fresh fruits and meat he bought inside the fridge. His brows knitted when he noticed that Soobin’s medicine for two days hasn’t been taken.
“Soobin? Are you sleeping? I’m home. Why haven’t you drink your pills yet?” he asked, voice a bit louder so Soobin can hear it in his room.
There’s still silence. “Where is he?” he wondered and went in front of the door to knock before twisting the door knob and it’s open but he didn’t open it wide. “He’s not here…” he concluded since Soobin locks his door if he’s inside.
He gets his phone and started calling him but it just keep on ringing. “No way… did he went to the mansion?” he assumed and cover his mouth with his hand. “Argh, what should I do? Why did he go home without me? Ah, so annoying!”
He quickly went to the main door and was about to open it when the door opened first and there’s Soobin standing. “Why are you so shock?” Soobin asks and passed by him.
“Did you come from the mansion?” Taehyun asks, following him.
“You told me to visit the grave,” he just answered.
“You should have told me so I went with you,” Taehyun’s face screams concern and wary. “D-did something happen in there? I’m sorry—”
“You’re out of it,” Soobin replied and grabs apple on the table.
“But still… You could have—”
“Taehyun, you exactly know why I don’t want you to tag along if I go back there,” Soobin cuts him.
“Is that why you let me go home?”
“Yes,” Soobin just confirmed and made his way to his room.
“D-did you… did you went to see him too?” Taehyun was hesitant to ask. Soobin pauses from entering his room.
“I already killed him,” Soobin plainly answered.
“H-how about Y-Yeonjun? A-are you going to d-do the same too?” Taehyun acted tough to ask such bold question. He’s stuttering while fidgeting his fingers but he needed to know the answer. “A-all of them. Y-you killed them— so, i-is Yeonjun…”
Soobin slowly turns around to face him. “Yeonjun’s different. He’s way too different from the others,” he answered.
“In w-what way?”
“In all ways… Actually, Yeonjun and I are just the same,” Soobin stated.
“What do you mean?”
“We both… could kill.”
