1972 - 2nd Year

Libby's POV

"Hey Remmy! Have a good holiday. See you next year. You too James, Sirius." I tell the boys, skipping over to them and giving them awkward, adolescent hugs. All 4 of our faces were red afterwards.

"Yeah, er, you too Libby." Remus says, nodding and looking down.

"Why won't we see you until next year Liberty?" James asks, cocking his brow. Sirius elbows him in the ribs and he winces.

"Ahem, well it's summer holidays." Sirius says, pretending to examine a nail.

"But we'll see each other befo..." James's sentence drowned out by Sirius shoving him over.

"HEY! Get back here!" James yells at Sirius before chasing after him. I chuckle but look at Remus.

"Those boys. But what did James mean that you guys see each other before next term? Did you guys hang out over summer holidays without me or something?" I ask, trying to be casual, laughing but feeling slightly hurt inside.

"Umm, yeah. Just a few times at James's place. Sirius's is off-limits and mine is just small. We would've invited you but we don't know your address or your house situation or anything." Remus says, shrugging.

"Oh. You guys could've asked me. But it doesn't matter since I'm not allowed to hang out with guys, until, er, 5th year. Yeah, 5th year." I snap, knowing that I didn't have any rules about who or when I could hang out with but at the time, it seemed like a decent idea. 5th year seemed so far away.

James and Sirius had ran back just as I said I couldn't hang out with guys until 5th year.

"Oh, cool. We'll just invite you over during the Christmas holidays and stuff in 5th year." James shrugged. Sirius nodded, as did Remus.

"Fine." I said, shrugging too.

"And I live with my brother, sister and Grandpa." I say, looking at my nails.

"Okay. Who's your sister? Is she cute?" Sirius said, smirking and wiggling his brows. I fake throw-up and roll my eyes.

"Ew, no you pig. She's only 7." I say, shoving his shoulder playfully.

"Oh, well whenever she starts here I'm sure she'll be as cute as you." Sirius said, turning red when he realized what had slipped out.

"Well, my Gpa is here to pick-up my brother and I so, I'll see you next year then." I say, waving as I ran away.

They all waved back and Libby noticed when James and Remus proceeded to tease Sirius.

1973 - 3rd year

Libby's POV

Liberty had spent all summer holiday thinking about a certain grey-eyed boy. She spent countless hours trying to style her untamed, wavy chestnut hair and thrift shopping for cute shoes and sweaters.

She fancied Sirius and was giddy to finally see him again. She woke up early and managed to tame her waves back into a half-up. She put on high-top black Chucks, skinny ripped black jeans, a purple and grey striped sweater, and a touch of lip gloss. She was feeling confident.

At the station, Libby had nervously chew her lip while waiting for the boys to show up. She spotted Remus through the crowd and ran over to him.

"Hey Remmy! How was your summer holiday? Where's James and Sirius?" She asked, looking behind him to spot the other two boys.

"They're sitting with their girlfriends." Remus said, shrugging.

"What do you mean, girlfriends?" Libby said, freezing.

"Well Sirius started dating Emmeline Vance and James started dating Hestia Jones over the summer." Remus said, unbothered.

"Oh." Libby said, her shoulder sinking. "Should we find a train compartment?" Remus asked. Libby nodded, crestfallen, and walked with Remus towards the train.

Libby was quite bitter towards Emmeline Vance for the remainder of the year and Sirius for the first few weeks.

That is when she decided that love, fancies, and what not only ended in heartbreak. Every. Single. Time. So She decided to not ever bother with it again.
