twenty-three

George was enraged.

First, Y/N ran off. Then Henry was stupid enough to follow. And now Henry was dead.

Of course it had been almost a year now since the news of his brother's death had reached him, but his wrath never seemed to cease. And it was all because of her. All because of Y/N.

George was pacing up and down in the ginormous room in which his throne stood, searching for something that could help calm his thoughts.

"Your Highness, Lieutenant Blurrish, as you have requested," a servant announced, pulling George's attention towards the servant and the soldier behind him.

George nodded and called "Everyone is to leave this room. Now."

His subjects didn't need to be told twice as they immediately scurried out of the room. Lieutenant Blurrish stared at George with fear in his eyes. Of course he was uncertain as to what would happen to him.

"Lieutenant Blurrish, I assume you do not know what I have called you here for," George began, stepping towards the soldier, agonizingly slow, as if to torment the poor soldier before him.

"No, my lord, I was not informed of the reason," the soldier spoke up with a shaky voice, not daring to meet the eyes of the king.

"That is good. For I wish to discuss these matters with just you and without an errand boy in between. This is very confidential, I trust you to not tell anyone. Am I understood?", George said and was immediately met with a "Yes, my lord."

"Good. Now, Lieutenant, tell me, what do you think of Princess Y/N?", George asked, beginning to circle Blurrish, to which the soldier began to feel anxious.

"Don't worry, there is no wrong answer," George pushed. Blurrish gulped and said "I do not think very fondly of her, my lord."

"Is that so?", George asked and paused, standing before Blurrish with a raised brow. Blurrish looked up at George and seemed to hesitate with his next words, before he finally spoke up "Yes, that is what I think of her, my lord."

"And how not-fondly is your way of thinking towards this woman?", George continued.

"I disapprove of her existence. She is of no meaning to the royal family and she has no political competence in such way. She is merely a corpse held alive by a tainted soul."

"So you disapprove of her existence?", George asked, making Blurrish freeze, but then say "Yes."

"Does that mean you would like to see her dead?"

Hesitation.

"Yes, my lord."

"Would you take the burden upon yourself to kill Princess Y/N?"

Blurrish gasped and with wide eyes he stared at George, his skin fully drained of color. George merely smiled coldly at the soldier and, after a while of silence, asked once more "Would you take the burden upon yourself to kill Princess Y/N?"

"I doubt that I would be-" "You doubt you would be what? Unable to kill a woman? A corpse held alive by a tainted soul?" "That is not-" "Then tell me what it is, soldier," George snarled and watched Blurrish shrink slightly.

"I would be able to terminate the Princess if I was told to," Blurrish finally said, making George smile satisfied.

"What a pleasure to hear, because I have an order for you, soldier."

Philip laughed as he ran around the living room. He would be three years old in a month and a half. Time really did fly.

Y/N giggled slightly as she watched John chase after Philip, the freckled soldier laughing and growling at the same time, trying, and failing, to act menacing. Philips laughter echoed through the house, the small child lighting up the dim lit room.

Actually, Philip was supposed to sleep now, but that kid was so full of energy that he didn't want to sleep just yet. So John had come up with the idea to chase the child until he would be weary. Y/N had told him right away that it was a bad idea, because little Philip's stamina was unbelievably big. But John would not listen.

So it was Y/N's turn to fill the house with her laughter as John plopped down onto the couch beside her, panting and sweating, while Philip was still running and squealing.

"I told you that it was a stupid idea," Y/N giggled and pushed herself to her feet.

Immediately John stopped breathing so heavily and went to stand so he could help Y/N, but an evil glare from her made him stay put and watch as Y/N carefully and with wobbly steps went to Philip, taking his hand and taking him back to the couch with her.

Y/N let out a relieved sigh as she sat down on the couch again, but her face did not move a muscle. She was too proud to show John that she was still in pain at times.

Philip climbed onto the couch and sat down in Y/N's lap, smiling brightly.

"Will you tell me a story, auntie?", Philip asked, making Y/N smile at him and say "Of course. If you get to your room before me then I will allow you to choose what story you want to hear, but then you also have to go to sleep. Do we have a deal?"

Philip beamed at her and yelled "Horay!" Then he jumped off of her lap and ran to his room.

Y/n chuckled softly and pushed herself to her feet again, beginning to head towards Philip's room, carefully slow so she wouldn't overwork herself. But nevertheless did her legs give out before she even reached the door.

John was already by her side and caught her just in time, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her close.

"You just can't get enough of me, huh?", John teased, to which Y/N hit his chest, making John laugh.

"I can very well function without you. When are Alex and Eliza coming back again?," Y/N asked and wrapped her arm around John's shoulder, making her way towards her nephew's room as she held onto him.

"Next week or so. Peggy wanted to take that little beam of sunshine from us tomorrow, Angelica the day after and then he's ours again until your brother and Eliza are back," John spoke.

"Auntie, I won!", Philip called excitedly from his room. Y/N chuckled as the duo entered and said "I can see that. And hey, you're even already lying in bed!"

Philip giggled and then asked "Auntie Y/N, when are you marrying Uncle John?"

John almost dropped Y/N, that was how surprised he was by that question.

"Now where does that nonsense come?", Y/N smiled softly and sat down on the edge of Philip's bed. Philip only beamed back happily and said "Because you are like mom and dad!"

"I doubt I am like good ol' Alex," John said, to which Philip said "Auntie is more like dad. Uncle, you are more like mom."

Y/N almost fell off of Philip's bed with laughter.

John's face was just priceless.
