twenty-six
Blood.
There was blood everywhere.
With wide eyes, Y/N walked further into the living room, shaking, barely able to hold herself upright. Blood coated the floor, the seatings, the walls, everything. Nothing was left untainted.
Y/N froze when she finally came face to face with the horrific sight.
Eliza laid on the ground, Philip cuddled close to her chest, bullet holes in both of their chests. It looked like there were tear stains on Eliza's cheeks.
Alexander sat propped against a wall, multiple stab wounds covering his torso, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
And then there was John.
John knelt on the ground, leaning backwards. The only thing that held him up was the spear that was thrust right through his heart and now stuck in the ground, John still impaled by the wooden shaft.
Y/N felt like throwing up. Her family - gone. Just like that. What did she do to deserve this?
Just before her legs were about to give out, an arm wrapped itself around her waist and pulled her back against their chest.
"What a shame," a British voice said close to her ear. Y/N could feel his breath as it brushed past her skin, sending shivers down her spine.
"How do they say these days? An eye for an eye," George said. Y/N did not have to turn around to know that he was smirking.
"I only killed Henry," Y/N said, her voice barely over a whisper. George behind her chuckled "Oh no, my beloved sister-in-law." The way he pronounced those last words sent more shivers down her spine.
"Do you believe me to be stupid?", George asked, a threat in his voice which just dared her to tell him that she thought him to be stupid.
"Did you think that I would not find out who killed my beloved brother Edward?", George then added, his grip on her waist tightening a little.
"You care about your family? That is indeed something I never thought of you being capable of," Y/N said, giving her best to not start trembling in fear.
George remained silent, Y/N knew he was just contemplating on what painful truth he should now reveal to her.
"Your lover," George spat "What an enjoyment it was to witness him die. He kept whimpering, begging, pleading that you remain unharmed. He was crying, even. How pathetic." George chuckled.
Y/N thought her heart stopped for a moment.
"It was a delight, my dear. How he prayed for you, how he pleaded for you to be kept unharmed, how he begged you be let alone. But how could I let you alone when you were the reason I even came over the sea?", George asked, a taunting tone lacing his voice.
Y/N felt her eyes starting to burn. "No," she whispered "That's not true. Stop lying to me George."
"Oh but if I only were my dear. If I only were," George sighed. Y/N winced as she felt the back of his hand caress her cheek.
"My wife is carrying our fifteenth child...but I fear she will not last much longer," George said and sighed once more "Women, always get so worn out after such short time."
"I assure you that your point of view considering women is not correct," Y/N spoke up, inwardly she knew though that she should be careful to choose her words wisely.
"You know, dearest Y/N, I am more than willing to give you a third chance. I give you the chance of ... upgrading. From the title of my step-sister to my wife. Just say yes and I can have any dirt on your name removed in an instant. Everybody will look up to you, the most feared and most beautiful queen they have ever had," George softly spoke into Y/N's ear.
"You have nowhere else to go, nowhere else to turn to. All you have to do to begin a new life without any worries, with the love of everyone along with their fear, all you have to do is say yes."
Y/N gulped and began to think.
"Come on my sweet darling Y/N," George cooed "It is not so much of a mouthful to say 'Yes'. You can do it. Imagine all the things you can do as a queen, all the opportunities you get. You can become the mightiest woman of this day and age and all it takes for you to say is a simple word. Don't be shy, my love."
Y/N held her breath as George trailed the hand that laid around her waist began to caress her curves in a somewhat seductive manner, as if to coax her in some way. It sent even more shivers down her spine.
"I will not treat you like Henry did, that, you do not have to fear. I would never ask for you to abort the child you carry, neither would I kill it if you would have born it alive. I am not like my youngest brother who intended to use you for the bodily pleasures you could give him," George continued.
Just the name made Y/N's heart stop for a second.
"I will treat every child with love and care, just like I will treat you. I will carry you on my hands if need to. You have always been a queen to me. All you need is the title being officially bestowed on you by your marriage to me."
Y/N slowly breathed in and out again, trying to calm her now racing heart. She couldn't think straight. Everything that was happening just now was going on too fast for her brain to proceed.
"What do you choose, my beloved?", George asked softly, his breath brushing against her earlobe. She felt his nose nudging against the skin just behind her ear and before her hairline, before she then felt his lips brushing against her skin.
Y/N gulped and closed her eyes, concentrating even harder on keeping her breathing as calm as she could. She didn't want to show him how scared she was.
In truth, fear was nagging on every bone in her body, but if she would show it to him, he would get exactly what he wanted.
"What do you say, my beloved?", George softly asked, placing a kiss on the side of her neck. He wasn't wearing his wig, instead only had his brown hair pulled back into a ponytail. Some of the smaller hairs tickled her skin.
"What I say?", Y/N whispered.
George laid his palm on her cheek and turned her face so she would look at him.
"Just one word, my love," George whispered.
Y/N was done thinking.
"Yes."
George smirked, before connecting their lips in a passionate kiss.
George x Y/N
