eleven

"Henry Frederick, wilt thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God's law in the Holy Estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health and forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?"

Henry smiled down at Y/N, it looked so innocent, so genuine, that the auburn haired woman thought she would vomit. She did not smile. She decided to make it clear that she was not entering this marriage willingly, unlike what she had planned before. Before Henry had raped her.

"I will," Henry spoke, the loving tone making Y/Ns stomach churn.

"Y/N Hamilton, wilt thou have this man to thy wedded husband, to live together according to God's law in the Holy Estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health and forsaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?"

For only a short moment, her eyes widened at the mention of the last name. She had never heard her own last name before, so this was new to her, but the name was the one of the man she had been confused with on American soil. But then, maybe her name and his matching was just a coincidence.

"I will," Y/N then said, her voice evident of no emotion. Something glimpsed in Henry's eyes, telling her to act like she enjoyed this or face the consequences later on, but Y/N didn't even blink.

Then Henry took her hands in his and began his vows.

"I, Henry Frederick, take thee, Y/N Hamilton, to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish till death us do part, according to God's holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth."

"I, Y/N Hamilton, take thee, Henry Frederick, to my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish till death us do part, according to God's holy law and thereto I give thee my troth."

Henrys grip on Y/Ns hands tightened a little as he smiled down at her, a warning that she should finally do it like him - smile.

"Bless, O Lord, this ring, and grant that he who gives it and she who shall wear it may remain faithful to each other, and abide in thy peace and favour, and live together in love until their lives' end. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen."

"With this ring I thee wed; with my body I thee honour; and all my worldly goods with thee I share: in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen," Henry now spoke as he gently slipped the ring onto her finger.

The archbishop repeated the words he had just said to Henry with change of pronouns and mentioned for Y/N to proceed. Her fingers were shaking ever so slightly as she grasped the ring and began her vows.

"With this ring I thee wed; with my body I thee honour; and all my worldly goods with thee I share: in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen."

She slipped the ring onto Henrys finger, hoping he wouldn't notice the trembling of her fingers.

"I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Henry did not have to be told twice, as he then leaned down and kissed Y/N lovingly. Once again her stomach churned and not did it take her everything not to vomit right then and there, but also to not shove him away.

The selected humans participating, random high ranked soldiers or aristocracy, as well of George of course, began to applaud.

Word of the royal wedding of Prince Henry Frederick and Princess Y/N Hamilton spread fast throughout the continents.

John was out and about in a bar with a couple of soldiers and Alexander, who had joined them because he had coincidentally been nearby. They had just entered the bar, laughing together, John being overly glad to spend time with his best friend again, when some guy outside the bar had begun yelling about a royal wedding.

Out of pure curiosity John stepped back out again to listen.

Some priest stood on a parapet and announced "The royal wedding of Prince Henry Frederick, Duke of Cumberland and Strathearn, and Princess Y/N Hamilton has finally taken place! The couple has married on the 7th of January this year and it is already said an heir is on the way!"

7th of January. Three weeks ago. John had no idea it had been so long already since Y/N and Mulligan had left camp and went to the British side.

The people began to shout - either if it was out of joy, or out of hate towards the royal family of Britain.

That is when two things hit John. One, it's said that Y/N is pregnant, which somehow made his heart ache, knowing what she would have endured by now. Two, they announced her last name had been Hamilton. Hamilton. That meant she had to be related to Alexander, the similarities and their names, all of it matched up.

"Y/N..." a voice breathed, pulling John out of his thoughts. He turned to see Alexander standing there with wide eyes as he stared at the priest, shock clearly seen in his eyes. Something else glimmered in his eyes, was it relief?

Alexander turned to John and looked like he didn't know whether he should cry or laugh.

"Y/N, that's my twin sister, she's...I thought she was dead, but she's over there, what is she doing over there? Why is she married to a royal? To a Brit? She's alive? Oh my god, she is alive?", Alex began to ramble and quickly John laid his hands on his friends' shoulders and shook him slightly "Alex, stop, you're rambling."

Alex paused and looked up at John, tears glimmering in his eyes and the faintest of smiles on his lips.

"My sister is alive," he only whispered.
