2- Justice

It may had been the red and orange banners, shimmering in the light. Perhaps the room was too warm. Maybe even the feeling of being trapped. But for one reason or another, I wanted to be out.

Don't get me wrong, Layla is my best friend. I met her at the hospital after... it happened. She had been in a car accident and lost her mom and sister. We were two peas in a pod since then.

However, even that couldn't calm me at this moment. I would start hyperventilating if I don't get some fresh air, and quickly.

I pushed my way through the crowd, breathing heavily, and finally opened the back door.

I sighed in relief before realizing someone else was out here.

"Uh, hey?" She said, flashing a peace sign at me, "What's up?"

I tried not to glare, and at last calmed down enough to speak. "Who are you?"

"Names' Justice. Nice to meet you," She smiled.

Justice was very pretty. She had caramel eyes with nearly matching hair, with a blue and white feather in her hair, giving off a "Hippie" vibe.

"I'm Kendra," I said, sitting next to her.

"What brought you here, Kendra?"

"I'm Layla's best friend. You?"

"Her brothers best friends sister."

"Oh."

We sat in silence for a bit. Every so often, Justice would hum a bit, or would try to catch a passing butterfly. I even caught one, once. Soon we were laughing like we had been friends forever.

It was good to have a new friend. I haven't been around people much for two months. It was always too painful. The little traits of others that he had had...

"Excuse me, I'll see you later," I say before rushing inside to wish Layla a happy birthday and head home with my bag. Hopefully she got her present. And hopefully I could make it to the park before having another breakdown.
