After a lot of teasing, freaking out, and pillow fighting, the two young adults managed to end up in the conference room. Even Airi wasn't entirely sure how she had managed to get cleaned up and ready so fast, but there was no time to dwell on that.
Not when she was face to face with her father, her partner, and the superior she accidentally spilled her guts to last night.
"Airi, Kaito, this is Jurou Saito. He currently works in America, though I'm sure you vaguely recall seeing him around here when he was still climbing the ranks. Jurou, this is my daughter, Airi, and her partner, Kaito," Rin introduced with a small smile, gesturing to the man.
Airi smiled up at Jurou politely, praying that her cheeks weren't as red as she felt they were. She wouldn't have done anything with any of her superiors on any other day, why had she even agreed to dance with him in the first place?
More than that, why had her superior asked her to dance, even when knowing she worked under him?
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Saito," Kaito said politely, stepping forwards and extending his hand for Jurou to shake, ever the perfect gentleman. He really could turn on the charm when he wanted to, which was usually around everyone except for Airi.
Not to be outdone, Airi stepped forwards to shake Jurou's hand as well, though Jurou didn't even give her the chance, giving her a charming smile instead. "Oh, President, I've already met your daughter. We happened to bump into each other yesterday, when I was bringing my things up to my room. She's a lovely woman, and I'm sure her partner is as well," he said innocently.
If Airi could have disappeared on the spot, she would have. It wasn't that Jurou had even really said anything bad, she just wished that he hadn't bothered mentioning it at all. She didn't need her father questioning her about the kind of impression she had made on Jurou. Not only that, but she could feel Kaito silently laughing at her as well, especially since he thought they had really fucked. She was really in for it now, from both of them.
Rin raised an eyebrow when he heard Jurou, his eyes narrowing slightly as he glanced over to his daughter, before he looked back at the Board member. "Well, she and Kaito are two of our most promising Angeli Mortis members. Their abilities are quite useful. Kaito works in more of our day to day operations and Airi works mainly in our IT Department," he said, and that snapped Airi out of her thoughts quickly, her dark eyes narrowing.
The IT Department of the Angeli Mortis was unlike most other IT Departments, starting with the fact that it had a double meaning entirely. Yes, they did have an Information Technology Department, but they also had an Information Torture Department. And while most people came out of IT Departments alive, Airi couldn't guarantee the same kind of customer service in her department.
Jurou raised an eyebrow when he heard that, glancing over at the female with a somewhat impressed look on his face. Killing people was easy, but the torture that the Angeli Mortis required of their employees could make even the most burly of men squeamish. Let alone a pretty, fashionable woman who was barely five feet tall.
"Well I can't say I'm too surprised, you were pretty good back in IT back in your day. It only makes sense that your daughter would follow in your footsteps," he said, locking eyes with Airi for a brief moment.
It was at that moment that Airi felt an unfamiliar chill go through her body, one that made her visibly shiver before she tensed up, breaking off eye contact with Jurou as she glanced to one of the walls instead. "Sorry, I just thought I felt something, you know how drafty these old conference rooms get," she said apologetically, plastering a sweet smile on her red lips as she glanced between the three men.
Rin opened his mouth to say something to that, before he was interrupted by the sound of a rather raunchy song playing on his phone. "That's my wife, this will only take a minute," he said, clearing his throat as he grabbed his phone from his pocket. "How's everything going, beautiful?" He asked, a smile already forming on his lips as he listened to the voice on the other end of the phone.
Airi and Kaito weren't phased in the slightest by this entire exchange, they knew more than anyone just how much her parents loved each other. If there was anyone that the Co-President of one of the world's largest companies was whipped for, it was his lovely wife.
The three adults awkwardly looked at each other, the tension in the air thick enough to cut through, especially between Airi and Jurou. She had assumed that having Kaito there would make things better, but all it was doing was making things even more uncomfortable for her.
After what felt like an eternity, but was probably only two minutes at most, Rin finally said goodbye to his wife and turned back to his subordinates.
"Well, I have to run, but Jurou will be here for the next three months in preparation for the annual Board meeting. I've already told him that he's allowed to have you guys go on any other assignments that he deems necessary, and that you two will help him out if he needs anything," Rin instructed, putting his phone away as he glanced between the three of them. He was met with nods, and he adjusted his tie as he made his way towards the door. "I'll see you three later then," he said dismissively, before he walked out of the conference room.
Kaito watched Rin leave, feeling the tension in the air as he glanced between his partner and their superior, and wanting to get out of there. "I have to run too, I have to go pick up some files for an assignment. Nice meeting you, Jurou, see you later, Ai," he said politely, before he quickly add his way out of the room as well.
Airi wanted to punch her partner in the face for leaving her alone, but that was a problem for later. Right now, she had to deal with Jurou, who she had not so ceremoniously abandoned this morning. But before she could even get an apologetic word in, he decided to speak first.
"Before you say anything, it's okay. I totally get why you ran this morning, I probably would have done the same, if I'm honest," Jurou said with a sheepish chuckle, slipping his hands into the pockets of his dress pants.
The petite female let out a somewhat shy laugh at that, shifting her weight somewhat uncomfortably under his gaze. "Sorry, I just didn't really know what else to do. But I'm sure that we'll be seeing a bit more of each other these next few months, so maybe we could just forget last night happened?" She suggested, trying to play it off as nonchalant as she watched him closely.
The teal haired male nodded when he heard her, as polite and charming as ever as he smiled down at her. "Sure, whatever makes you feel comfortable. We can start completely from scratch, if you want. And with that, maybe I could get to know you a little better over drinks sometime? I would recommend a place, but I don't know what's good anymore," he said honestly.
Airi usually didn't say yes to people asking her out, not to lower ranking members, and definitely not to her superiors. But something was telling her to say yes, even as hard as she was trying to fight it.
And who was she to say no to fate?
"I know a few good sake places that we could check out. Just let me know when you're free, my schedule is pretty flexible," She said with a small smile, before she glanced down at her watch. "Speaking of schedules, I have to run because I have an appointment to get to. But I'm pretty easy to find, if you need anything in the meantime," she said with a pretty smile, giving him a small wave before she stepped out of the conference room as well.
Jurou gave her a small wave in return as he leaned against the table of the conference room, taking a casual look around before he closed the door behind Airi. An appointment for her was a murder, and with the kind of work she did, it could be well assumed that it would be a long and painful one for whoever was involved.
What a disgusting excuse of a woman.
Jurou pulled a sleek smartphone out of his pocket, which was missing the notable angel wings that adorned the back of every Angeli Mortis product. His smile had disappeared by now, replaced by a small frown as he dialed a phone number, waiting for a certain woman to answer him.
Only when she answered did a familiar smirk form on his lips, the look of a man who was confident in everything that he was doing, and perfectly content with how his life was going.
"How are you doing, my love? Do you miss me yet?"
"Of course I miss you, master," was the immediate response, from a voice as gentle and sweet as a songbird, though there was a slight tremor in her words as she spoke.
"Good. I think I'll be spending a bit more time here than I originally anticipated, but it's all for you, darling. I'm finding that your family has more crimes than I anticipated, but your family should pay for all they've done, shouldn't they?" He purred, tracing idle patterns into the wood of the table.
"Of course they should. No mere man should call themselves judge, jury, and executor and expect to get away with it, regardless of who they are," the female murmured in reply, her own gaze flickering over the scene that surrounded her.
Jurou hummed softly in acknowledgement when he heard his lover, feeling calmer just listening to her sweet voice. "I love you, you know that? I can't wait to come back and touch you, and make you squirm underneath me," he said quietly, his emerald eyes lighting up at the very thought of her submission to him.
"I love you too," she said softly, slowly standing up from the puddle of blood she had been seated in. Blood had soaked into her clothes, her skin, her hair, her very being, but for once, it wasn't hers.
No, it was the blood of the thirty men she had killed after breaking out of her own chains and trying to free herself of the prison she had been locked in for over twenty years.
If Jurou was going to kill the Nakahara family for their sins, someone had to hold him accountable for his own.
"I have to go now, but I'll talk to you as soon as I can. I can't wait to see you again," Jurou said softly, before he hung up the phone, completely unaware of the crime that his beloved had just committed.
The female let out a dry laugh once the call had ended, the first time she had dared to do so in many years. Oh, how surprised he would be to see her again.
Elephants forget their strength when raised in captivity, but she hadn't. No, she had just let all of her rage and hate simmer inside of her, knowing that one day she would break free and unleash hell onto her tormentor.
He had created a monster, and now she was out of her cage and ready to make him pay for what he had done to her.
"I can't wait to see you either, darling."
