"In the summer months of 2004, a crazed serial killer named Ignis stalked the streets of the small town of Crestfront. He claimed many lives and his identity was never discovered, now a full year later he's returned to the town of Crestfront to claim more victims! Last week, two college girls were found burned at 1212 Olive Street, at the crime scene the name Ignis was burned into the wall, the victims have been identified as 21-year-old, Ruby Willow, and 22-year-old Maddy Cooper. Authorities strongly advise walking in groups and to stay indoors after sunset." The newscaster announces,
A man grabs the remote and flicks the TV off, sighing and walking outside to his bonfire—the crickets mixing with the crackle of fire.
"Ah," The man sighs, "They don't know what they're talking about. The crackle of flames. The orange glow of fire embracing me. The warm heat covering my body, and the smell. Oh yes, the smell. This is exactly why killing...never gets old" Ignis laughs and looks down at his latest victim in the fire.
"Ah, Crestfront...It's good to be back. I think last time I topped out at 19 victims so maybe this time I'll shoot for twenty?" Ignis taps his chin and nods, putting his gas mask on and walking back through the house passing family photos and dropping a match on a puddle of gasoline, watching the house set ablaze.
"That makes three in total. Goodbye, whatever your name was." Ignis walks into the darkness of the night the house collapsing in the inferno behind him.
