Hope
Highschool came and went like middle school and elementary. Liliana was left alone for the most part for most of her years in highschool, aside from Akumi's occasional tormenting. He kinda just had good days and bad days, and those bad days were typically spent running into Liliana and making her books fall. Which was MUCH better than how he used to be. Liliana made no real friends who stuck around long, because Akumi would bully them away from her. But now all of that comes to an end. Highschool graduation.
Liliana graduated higher than most of her other students, and thus got a scholarship to go to college. Most people choose their career based off their powers, but Liliana never got hers. 1 in a million chance for someone to not get powers. Her grand parents tried getting her seen by a magi, someone studied and gifted in the art of powers. There seemed to be nothing. She was told her chakras were inactive. Chakras and the chakra system is within the human body, it determines powers, the type, the strength, the depth of all of it. But her seemed to be dead, or unmoving. Much like the electrical current in the brain, the chakra system is ever flowing.
Liliana in turn made her choice in classes based off her desire. Her mother. Since her mother slipped into a coma, neurologists and world class brain surgeons could not revive her. Liliana was determined to find a cure for her mother's coma, so she invested into neurology after highschool graduation. Her grand parents heavily supported this, having high expectations of their grand daughter, however silent she was. Her grand parents offered to pay for her studies and let her stay at home, as long as she committed to her school. Easy trade.
Liliana stood in front of her standing mirror in her room, breathing a sigh of relief. New start, hopefully no more Akumi. There's no way he'd be goin to the same school. She was 18 now, and trying on different outfits for her first day of university. She glanced at her outfit fretfully, before glancing back at her grandmother for approval. Her grandmother, later 60's, with silver hair in a bun, shook her head. "Lily, my flower, be more modest. Why not this?" She pointed a skinny hand towards an outfit hanging in the open closet. A nice white, long sleeve blouse tucked into a pastel pink skirt with white stockings and black shoes.
"It's simple, girly, and modest!" Her grandmother nodded, clapping her hands together. Liliana bowed her head and grabbed the outfit. After changing, her grandmother helped her set up her hair and make up, and go over her list of things in her school bag. Liliana's hair was half up in a pony tail, a light blue bow sitting neatly at the pony tail, her hair falling behind her shoulders. She wore light pink eye shadow, some light pink blush, light mascara and light eyeliner. Her lips were a soft pink as well. Her book bag had one handle she could sling on her shoulder, and was light pink as well.
Liliana was led gingerly through the hallway of her house by her grandmother, who excitedly but briskly walked her to the living room. Her grand father sat on the couch, his greying hair sleeked back with strands of light pink. He wore glasses, and dressed as if he was going on a business trip. He was doing a cross word puzzle as Liliana entered the room and bowed her head to greet her grandfather. He set his green tea and crossword puzzle down and nodded to them. "I see you found an outfit. It looks lovely, don't bring any boys home!" He chuckled, rising up shakily to greet them. Her grandmother swatted his shoulder with a frail hand, and Liliana blushed.
"Enough of that talk, she must be going now." Her grandmother chided, looking at Liliana. Liliana lifted her head to meet their gazes. Her grandfather had the same baby blue eyes as Elaine and Liliana, and her grandmother had grey eyes. They both nodded to her. "Be safe! Remember, we're tracking you on your phone just to be extra careful. Don't forget your pepper spray, and-" Grandfather got interrupted by grandmother, who shushed him. "It will be okay, the University isn't far, Mioya." She sighed, smiling at him. He let out a shaky breath. "You're right, Selene. I just worry." He smiled at Liliana, who smiled back.
"Bye, grandmother, grandfather." She said softly as she opened the front door. A tall man in a suit awaited her, bowing in greeting. He waited for her next to a black car with tinted windows. "Miss Liliana." He said, opened the door for her. She bowed in thanks, and scooted on in. He closed the door gently and got in the driver's seat. He has short black hair, and black sunglasses on, with a wire in his ear. He glanced at Liliana as they began driving. "So, will you tell me this time if someone tries messing with you?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in her direction.
Liliana shuffled nervously, not meeting his purple gaze. "Y-yes Mr.Anusha." She chirped quietly. He sighed, shaking his head and smiling. "Ever since I picked you up in America, you've always been so quiet. I will always protect you, Miss Liliana." He nodded to her. She knew that. But she didn't want to bother him with her troubles. And hopefully, this new University won't have Akumi. This can be a new start. Friends. For once, she felt her chest flutter with hope. She was excited.
