Two suitcases, one was the large standard sized suitcase, matte black with four wheels on the bottom with the handles, one on the side of the case by the zipper and another that extended from the top. It was laid, open on the floor in the living room on the big white, fluffy carpet with another laid next to it. The other one was the next size down from yours, despite Vitali's want for a brightly coloured one that matched his dog themed onesie pyjamas, you compromised by letting him pack whatever he wanted.

You even had to shove some of his toys into your own to accommodate for him and he couldn't stop grinning, finding the packing to be so exciting that he forgot why you were doing it. You had moved from your bedroom and then to the living room, Vitya following you in and out as you carried clothes with you, watching as you also sped to his room to grab clothes and pack them as well. You had packed enough for a while, you weren't really sure how long you'd be out of the country but you didn't want to leave anything behind, "You have anymore toys you want to take?"

He looked at you and you almost smiled when you knew he was forgetting something but then he gasped loudly, almost losing his breath and ran straight back to his bedroom and grabbed something off of the bed. He made noises as he ran his way back to you, diving straight into your open arms and you laughed, he giggled and you held hi close to you, "Good boy, Vitya!" He shook the plush dog in his hands, squeezing it into his chest and you pecked his forehead, brushing his wild hair comfortingly when he made himself comfortable.

"You have to get everything you want we're going on a trip tomorrow morning!"

"A trip! Weally!?" His teeth showed when he grinned, one of his front teeth were missing and you adored his chubby cheeks that grew bigger as he smiled at you from your lap, "Uh huh, we're gonna go on a bi~g airplane tomorrow and we're going to go to Russia, it's a long way away from here."

The sound of the word airplane excited him beyond words and you revelled in it, "Waaah a airplane! That's so cool!" His voice was loud, he was almost screaming but you didn't quiet him down, you adored him too much and you stop him from doing anything that made him happy, "But you have to promise Mama something, okay Vitali? I want you to listen."

He was nodding rapidly, big and round turquoise eyes that met yours and one of his tiny hands grabbed yours as the other was holding his toy, he urged you to go on, "Anything for you Mama!"

"You have to always stay with me, okay? I'm taking you with me everywhere so you can't leave me." He watched the look in your eyes and he was already nodding as you spoke softly in a voice that could put him to sleep yet it was still serious, "Of course Mama.." He blinked and you could see a yawn coming, "I'll always be with you Mama, I'll always protect you!!"

Holding his fist, he puffed his chest out and you couldn't help the laughter bubbling from your mouth, a smile grew on his small lips from the laugh of his mother and then the front door was heard being opened, Vitali almost managing to hit you across the face as he flailed about to stand up and run as fast as he could, his two arms out behind him as he screamed out for Piero.

"Pie~ro~ hurry! Hurry! You need to pack yo-your stuff we going on plane tomorrow!" Piero smiled as he came into view, he grabbed the three-year-old and picked him up when he rested on Piero's hip. The two smiled together and the scene was beautiful, "Hello baby." He gave you a half smile, his eyes were mostly concentrated on the opened suit cases on the floor and he couldn't help sighing, his lips turning grin, "I'm sorry honey," He turned to Vitya, who was looking at all of his toys and clothes in excitement, "I.. I'm not going with you this time. That's why you gotta take extra care of your mummy, okay?"

The fluent Italian travelled from one mouth to the other and you loved the language, it was beautiful and you'd have to start rekindling Vitali's Russian from now on because of your parents. The accommodation was part of the package that Yakov presented to you but you didn't want to oppose. You were fortunate enough to have a wealthy bank account and two parents. The thought of them not allowing you to come home always lingered in your mind though.

A sad look crossed Vitya's face, confused but his eyes were still bright, glowing in the room, "I'm staying here, you and Mama are going for her work and you're going to meet your grandparents, aren't you excited!?"

"Gr-.. grandparents?"

Piero raised a hesitant brow and his eyes made it to yours when he caught the hard look in your eyes. You were going to tell your son later, that he'd get to meet them and not so sudden like your boyfriend had as the three-year-old didn't really know what that was, "Uh huh," You recovered with a smile when Piero placed the child back on the ground to make his way to you, Piero walked to the bedroom to his bag away, "Vitya, you know I'm your Mama, yes?"

"Uh huh." He answered as if he didn't know if it was a trick question, he was reassured by your smile, "Well, I have a Mama as well, and a Papa, they live in Russia. That's where I was born. Do you understand?"

He nodded after a few seconds and another look swept upon his face, he looked as if he wasn't allowed to say anything about what he was thinking but you urged him on, saying that it was okay, "Why.. why don't I call Pir, Papa?"

"Baby..."

He walked into your chest as you sat on the floor, the fluffy carpet had engulfed your feet and your baby fell into you, cuddling into your torso for warmth and so that he could feel your heartbeat, "I-.. Your Papa, he lives in Russia and Mama had to leave so that she could work. Wh.." He perked up again at your words, "Papa's in Russia?!"

"Wait, Vitya, please, can I ask you something?" He replied 'Yeah,' slowly but his eyes were wide and previous features that showed he was tired were gone, "What do you think of Piero being your Papa, is that bad?"

It was silent.

You were a little worried that the man you were speaking about would come in and stop Vitali from speaking but he didn't, perhaps he wasn't hungry. Vitya's eyes were low, looking around at the clothes in the baggages and he couldn't help feeling excited again, thinking about the fact that his real Papa was actually in Russia, where they were going.

"I don't know.. I guess it's okay.." He wasn't sure what the right answer was, once again, "Vitya, never be shy or hesitant to talk to me, okay, you can tell me anything."

"I want to meet Papa first!"

A sleeping child laid in his bed and he slept soundly while you walked a few more steps to reach your bedroom. It wasn't that long ago that Vitya surprised you by saying he wanted to meet his Dad. It was something you'd have to allow though because he was obviously worried about saying it in the first place.

The way his eyes lit up and how he smiled so wild and carefree, it reminded you of him so much. The man you watched on the television as he skated with so many people watching, the world's greatest figure skater. His eyes and his smile, it was like an exact replica and you knew you were going to meet him again. It frightened you but you were only going for work. You knew it and Piero knew it too. But Piero didn't know that you'd be seeing your ex-boyfriend again after three years apart.

Piero laid in the queen bed, underneath the covers as he laid on his side while you walked around to make yourself comfortable, you had lifted the covers and breathed out in relief when finally being able to do nothing but lay down, thinking about tomorrow, only a few hours from now actually. When Valentina would be picking you up to take you to the airport with a sleeping Vitya in your arms.

"I'm sorry, honey.."

The voice startled you and Piero turned around so he could face you despite not being able to see his face through the darkness, "What's wrong?"

"I can't take you to the airport and I'm not going with you, are you sure you'll be okay?"

His voice was raspy but it was still in a hurtful tone as if he was disappointed in himself, you breathed slowly and scooted over, closer to him and he wrapped his arms around you when he pulled you down into the bed when he let you be embraced by his warmth, his shirtless torso, "It's alright, baby.. I'm going home, I think it'll be nice. I've missed St. Petersburg for a while now, I wanna see my Mama and my Papa. I'll make sure Vitya is happy too and I'll do what I love."

He felt the smile grow on your lips as the side of your face was slightly muffled when you rested on his naked chest, he tightened his hold around you and almost smirked as he left the shirt lifting a bit from your waist, "Hm.. I want to do what I love too, what do you say?"

You couldn't help smiling, almost snorting when he began peppering your entire face, neck and chest with wet, smothering kisses.

'(Name), thank you for replying.

I'm pleased to know you'll be coming, there are five skaters in the Russian team,

I look forward to your work very soon.

It'll be nice to see you again

- Yakov'
