I walk into the house and my mom is waiting with a smile.
"Hi Dal! Who's this?" She asks.
"This is my friend Brendon." I mumble.
"Hi Brendon, I'm Dallon's mom. Nice to meet you." She smiles wider and holds her hand out for Brendon to shake.
Brendon shakes her hand and we sit down.
"I thought Dallon only had two friends." She laughs. "He's always hanging out with Tyler and Patrick. He's never home."
♡Brendon♡
Dallon looked like he wanted to scream at her. He looked like he was about to break down right then and there but he bit his tongue and tried to stay quiet.
"Those two are bad influences on my boy. He only hangs out with gay people. You're not like that, are you?" She asks.
"I'd rather not answer that right now ma'am." I say quietly.
"No. If you're going to hang out with Dallon I want to know everything about you." She says almost harshly.
I look down at my lap.
"I have a girlfriend." I lie.
I look to Dallon to see a few tears leave his eyes.
"See Dal! You should be more like this young man instead of spending all of your time with those other boys." She says as she looks proudly at me.
I keep my eyes trained on the ground.
"Come home more often son. I miss you." She says and Dallon explodes.
"I need to come home more often! You are NEVER home! I get beat by dad because I have no one to protect me and when you come home I get yelled at for not being home enough! Also, do you know why are you complaining that my only friends are gay?!? They love me for who I am and don't judge me! I have known them for my whole life! AND I'M GAY! ITS SO FUCKING OBVIOUS!" He finishes off.
His mother stares at him in disbelief as he breathes heavily and tears fall down his face.
Dallon runs up to what I assume to be his room and I follow him.
He is sitting in the corner sobbing and I sit down beside him and hug him.
He hugs me back and begins to cry into my shirt.
Seeing him this emotionally distraught makes me hurt for him.
"It's okay Dal, everything is gonna be okay." I coo as he pulls away and sniffle.
"I'm getting kicked out. She's going to tell my dad and I'm going to get beat up and kicked out." He cries as he begins to pull at his hair.
"Let's talk to your parents and if they kick you out I'll make sure that your dad doesn't hurt you and I'll help you pack your things." I tell him and he nods and sniffles quietly.
"I'm sorry you had to see that. Don't tell anyone about this. Please." He says as he wipes his eyes.
I nod and press a gentle kiss onto his forehead and he smiles lightly.
"You don't really have a girlfriend, right?" He asks and I chuckle.
"No. I thought it would get your mom off your back." I say and he smiles.
"Even if it didn't work, it's the thought that counts." He shrugs.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for that." I say as I scratch the back of my neck.
I still know nothing about Dallon. I know that he plays an instrument, he has family problems and that his eyes are literally the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
"I should probably talk to them. If you hear yelling, please leave as fast as you can. I don't want you to get hurt because of me." He sighs as he pushes himself off the floor.
I nod slowly before he exits the room.
I sit on his bed and wait nervously.
This is a weird day.
I never expected Dallon to have this many troubles.
He always seemed okay except for crying after being beat up.
I hear yelling from downstairs and my leg nervously bounces at a rapid pace.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE I RAISED A FAG!" I hear his mother yell.
I can't take not knowing what's going on so I quietly leave the room and sit at the top of the stairs.
"I can't change who I am mom!" I hear Dallon cry.
He's crying again. Fuck.
"Sure you can't! Wait 'till your father hears about this!" She yells.
"NO! He is going to hurt me if he's drunk! If you ever loved me at all you wouldn't tell!" He sobs.
"You deserve it. Get out." His mother says as I hear a deafening slap.
She hit him.
The room is silent and I run down the stairs to help Dallon.
♡Dallon♡
She just hit me.
She has never hit me.
My hand flew up to my face as I stare at her in disbelief and her face is riddled with regret.
Brendon runs down the stairs and his panicked expression softens to one of pity and he opens his arms for me.
I walk over to him and hug him as my mother begins to cry about either hitting me or about the fact that I'm gay.
We separate from each other and Brendon's hand finds the small of my back as we walk up the stairs together.
"I'm going to call Patrick." I sniffle and he nods.
The phone rings two times before Tyler answers.
"How was your date with forehead boy?" He asks and I chuckle lightly before sniffling.
"Wait, why have you been crying!?!" Tyler panics.
"I might need somewhere to stay for a few days before I can save up enough for an apartment." I say as I wipe away the tears that were left on my face.
"Ok, I'm just gonna tell Patrick." He says and there's a short pause before Patrick is on the phone.
"My mom is coming to pick you up. Pack as much stuff as fast as you can." He says calmly.
"Ok." I mutter quietly.
Patrick and I exchange our goodbye as and Brendon helps me pack.
"I'm sorry you had to see that." I mumble.
"It's fine Dal. You had no control over it." He says with a small smile as I fold another shirt and put it into my suit case.
I blush at the nickname before getting a text from Patrick.
"He's here." I mumble.
"Okay. Let's take all of this stuff out to the car.
I nod as we both take a suitcase and head down the stairs.
My mom is sobbing as she watches me leave and Patrick is waiting outside with open arms.
I run up to him and hug him.
"It's okay Dal it's gonna be fine." He says as he soothingly rubs my back.
I nod in response and Brendon and I say goodbye before he goes home and I go to Patrick's.
