Dating Rain has been nothing but amazing. He is so kind, accepting, loving, and sometimes slightly clingy. All of the ghouls notice how his anxiety has been reduced since you've arrived at the church, and even more so now that you were dating. However, sometimes at night his anxiety would get the best of him and he'd have slight panic attacks, but they were manageable. You would never want to leave his side at night in case he woke up in the middle of the night from a nightmare due to his past trauma before he was summoned, but it was your best friend's birthday tonight and Rain promised that he'd be okay for one night, so you go.

The club was packed. People were packed into the small building like sardines. Your friend rented out the VIP room in the corner and you guys were living it up. Music was blasting through the speakers, multi-colored lights painted the ceiling and walls, and the drinks were flowing. You tend to not like getting wasted so you were only on your third cocktail of the night. Your best friend, however, was pretty drunk since it was their birthday. Some of their other friends were making out with people on the leather couches that decorated the VIP lounge, some were dancing on the floor, and some were drunk at the bar. You stood off to the side of the lounge, not really wanting to partake in the soft porn happening in front of you. The DJ makes an announcement, "YO YO PARTY PEOPLE WE GOT A BIRTHDAY IN THE HOUSE!" Everyone in the club cheers, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BSF/N! THIS ONE'S FOR YOU!" In Da Club by 50 Cent starts playing, "OMG Y/N COME ON!" they slur, grabbing your arm and dragging you to the floor. You laugh at their antics and decide to loosen up a little. You chug the rest of your drink, set the glass down onto a table, and run out to the middle of the floor. You're just swaying to the music, laughing at the drunk dances everyone was doing. Once the song ends, WAP by Cardi B and Megan the Stallion starts playing. You can't leave the floor now, so you start to dance the night away.

Back at the church, Rain, Sodo, Swiss, and Aether were rehearsing Griftwood, since for some odd reason none of them could play it right, "No. Sodo. I play the solo in the beginning. You take the second one." Aether said, clearly getting annoyed, "No I play all the solos. I LITERALLY RECORDED THE SONG DOING ALL THE SOLOS" Sodo yelled, heat radiating off of him. Rain jumped, getting overwhelmed by his friends fighting. Back in Hell his parents would yell at him over every miniscule thing that happened, he didn't do well around arguments. Swiss held his head in his hands, tired of his friend's bickering, "I don't give a fuck Sodo." Aether said back, still calm, "When we perform, I take the opening solo, so sit there and listen for once IN YOUR SATAN DAMNED LIFE" Aether yelled at the end, his anger getting the best of him. Rain closed his eyes, trying to focus on his breathing. He ran his finger down the frets of his bass, trying to just focus on grounding himself. Swiss noticed Rain starting to freak out, "Guys, stop." He says sternly. Aether and Sodo both look at him in anger, he tilts his head towards a clearly breaking down Rain.

Their faces soften, and both take a deep breath to calm themselves down. Rain feels the tension ease, he starts to calm down. Swiss breaks the silence, "Come on. Let's just run through something easy. How about Mary on a Cross?" They all nod and start playing. Rain's heart was still racing. Hearing Aether yell scared him more than anything. Usually Aether was the calm and collected one, but not this time. He could see it in his friend's face, the scowl permanently etched into his skin. He gulps and tries to focus back on the song, he misses a few notes. Sodo can't handle anymore, "DAMMIT RAIN YOU MESSED ME UP." He yelled, slamming his guitar down onto the couch. Tears immediately filled Rain's eyes as he stared at his clearly pissed off friend, "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST PLAY THE RIGHT FUCKING PART YOU ONLY HAVE FOUR DAMN STRINGS TO WORRY ABOUT AND YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THAT RIGHT." Sodo continued to berate him, now wildly swinging his arms, getting closer to the water ghoul. It was too much for Rain, the memories of abuse came back, he threw his bass on the floor and curled into a ball on the couch,

"DON'T FUCKING YELL AT HIM LIKE THAT YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" Swiss stood in front of Rain, blocking Sodo from him, "OH EXCUSE ME MISTER SPECIAL! SORRY THAT SOME OF US CAN'T JUST DANCE AROUND LIKE A FUCKING IDIOT ON OUR OWN LITTLE STAGE." Sodo responds in Swiss's face, the room heating up more and more, "Sodo. Sit the fuck down." Aether says, trying to diffuse the situation. He grabs Sodo's arm to try and drag his friend back to the couch. Sodo moves away from Aether's grasp, "NO. All you do is play the same goddamn chord the whole fucking song. IT'S THE EASIEST SHIT EVER." He points his finger in Aether's face as he says this. Aether had enough of Sodo's cocky attitude, "Oh yeah? My job is easy huh? How many times a show do I have to pick your ass up AND LITERALLY COVER FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO BUSY FLIRTING WITH SOME WHORE IN THE FRONT ROW" Aether spat out into his face. Sodo pushed him back. The two started to fight. Fighting was normal amongst the ghouls, but this time it was a little more serious. Mountain heard the commotion and rushed in. Swiss held back Sodo while Mountain held back Aether. Rain was still curled into the couch, his breathing irregular, eyes squeezed shut, and trauma resurfacing. It was too much seeing his friends fight, yell at him, and then get hurt defending him. He ran into your shared room and locked the door. He staggers over to the bed, trying to calm himself. He sits on the edge, his hands grabbing his hair as sobs and whimpers keep flowing out of him. He starts to feel lightheaded.

"Where the hell did Rain go?" Mountain demands. Everyone stops struggling and fighting and looks around the room. No one says anything, "What the hell did you do to that poor boy." Mountain scolds. Sodo looks at him in shame, "I yelled at him." He whispers. Mountain lets go of Aether and walks over to Sodo, anger in his eyes, "You did WHAT?" He says through gritted teeth, lifting the small ghoul by the collar to look him in his eyes. Sodo's hands flew to Mountain's wrists and his legs kicked under him, "I was angry, okay it was an accident." Mountain threw Sodo to the floor, "None of you stopped him?" He says looking back to a now guilty and scared looking Swiss and Aether. They look to the floor, "Some fucking men you guys are." He mumbles, hurriedly walking to you and Rain's room.

Mountain knocks on the door, "Rain, it's Mountain can you open the door?" There's no answer, "Rain? Are you in there?" Mountain asks, more panic filling his voice than he'd like to admit. He goes to turn the door knob, but it's locked, "Rain if you don't respond I'm opening this door one way or another." Again, no response. He uses his ghoul strength and snaps the door knob off, he hurriedly opens the door. Rain laid on the bed, his legs dangling off, arm above his head, shallowly breathing. His eyes were closed. Mountain hurried over to his friend, "Rain? Rain are you awake?" He shook his body, no response. Mountain started to panic now, he felt for a pulse and there was one, weakened, but definitely there. He breathes a sigh of relief. He picks his friend up and moves him so he's laying on the pillows. He fills the room with calming energy, hoping that that could aid his friend in his unconscious state.

Aether, Sodo, and Swiss stood at the doorway, all feeling more than shitty that they caused a panic attack for Rain. He cried so hard he literally passed out from the lack of oxygen, "Good job fuckers." Mountain says, finally acknowledging the group behind him, Rain stirs and opens his eyes, he starts to hyperventilate again. He immediately starts trying to attack the group, he charges at Sodo, laying a right hook. Mountain picks him up and throws him on the bed. He pins down Rain's arms, trying to flood more calming energy into him, it's not working, Rain is too unconsolable, "Call y/n." Aether takes his phone and dialed your number.

"YOU CAN DANCE YOU CAN JIVE HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!!" You and your best friend scream at each other, the alcohol finally hitting you. You were tipsy, but not drunk. You feel your phone vibrate and look at who's calling you. Your face pales when you see it's Aether. They promised they wouldn't call you unless it was an emergency. Your friend looks at your phone, "GO HANDLE IT THEY NEED YOU." They scream over the music, "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE YOU ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY" You yell back. They check the time on your phone, "IT'S ONE IN THE MORNING MY BIRTHDAY WAS YESTERDAY YOU'RE FINE I LOVE YOU!" They say, "I LOVE YOU TOO." You respond. You hug them and hurry out of the club and answer the phone,

"Aether? What's wrong?" you say, already walking out of the club in a hurry to get back, "Y/n, it's Rain, he's having a panic attack, it's really bad. How quickly can you get here?" You already start running to the church when he says Rain's name, "I'm almost there. Five minutes." You inform, already out of breath. You hang up and continue running back to the church. The building sat on top of a hill, overlooking the city. The run was exhausting, but you finally pushed open the doors. You catch your breath for a second, then sprint to you and Rain's room.

You notice that the doorknob was on the floor, and in a panic you slam open the door. Mountain is pinning his legs down to the bed, Swiss was holding his left arm, Aether his right. His eyes were slits, fangs bared. Sodo was in the corner holding tissues to his bleeding nose. You quickly run to Rain's side shooing Swiss. You hold his hand, "Rain, Rain it's me, it's Y/n." He still kept trying to push everyone away. He was using his ghoul strength, a sign that he felt threatened, "Let him go." You tell Aether and Mountain, "Y/n. He'll attack you we can't" Mountain says, still straining to hold down Rain, "Let him go." You demand. They let go of him and backed up quickly. You move to be on the bed and straddle his hips, then wrap your arms around Rain's waist, he immediately clings to you, sobbing and wailing into the side of your neck, "It's okay now, it's okay I'm here, I'm here Rain." You soothe into his ear, his grip loosens slightly, his screams and cries dwindling, "Good job, good job Raindrop you're doing great," You coo into his ear, he starts to shake less and less. He moves one hand to play with your hair, the other still on your waist, holding you impossibly close to him.

After another minute he starts to breathe normally, "There you go Rainy, I'm so proud of you, I love you so much." You say now peppering kisses along his neck. Rain moaned softly, his body completely worn out from the emotion. His eyes returning to normal, you sit up slightly to look at his face. He has a blank stare. You move your hands and cup his face in them, placing gentle kisses all over his face. His arms move to your hips, he kisses you back, "Y/n? I'm sorry, I-I don't know what came over me." He says into your neck, not wanting to let you go, "No, no Raindrop it's okay, it's okay, I'm here for you." You whisper into his ear. The other ghouls walk out of the room, starting to take care of Sodo's broken nose. Rain takes a few deep breaths with you, then finally pulls back, "You look nice." He says, blush forming across his cheeks, "I'm not fucking you tonight if that's what you're asking for." You tell him. He laughs softly, you can't help but smile at his joy, "Okay, sorry." You held him some more for a while in silence, "I'm sorry for making you leave your party," He said into your hair, "Don't be. Everyone was drunk and making out anyway." You assure him, "Thank you y/n." he says. You pull back and hold his face in your hands again, forcing him to look into your eyes, "I love you Rain. I'll always be here for you, never doubt that." You place a gentle kiss on his lips, he smiles into it. You both stay intertwined with each other for the whole next day.
