Copia is dead. There is no one next in line to be Papa...but there is someone in line to be Mama...

"Y/n!" Sister Imperator yells into the practice room. You jump in surprise. Sodo asked you to help replace one of his strings so you were. You quickly set the instrument down, "Yes Sister?" You bow slightly. She smiles at your professionalism, "Copia has been retired. Your time has come." Your jaw drops, "But sister I'm a girl, I thought I couldn't be Papa?" She walks over to you, "Yes. You will be Mama Emeritus the First. I'll call the ghouls in, you need to start practicing." You bow in response, she leaves. You quickly pick up your phone and text the ghouls,

Y/n; Guys....I have some good and or bad news can you get to the practice room ASAP

Aether; Yah is everything okay?

Sodo; Are you okay?

Swiss; Do I have to?

Y/n; Yeah you asshole

Rain; I'm on my way!

Sunshine; I got the ghoulettes we'll be there in a few!

You put your phone down and start pacing the floor, nervously fidgeting with your rings. How do you tell them? They know Copia...retired, but they just thought they would have a break. After all, they've been here for two Papas and now one Mama. Sodo ran into the practice room, it was clear that you two had something going on, but there was never a label put on it. He saw you pacing back and forth, and ran to hold you in his arms, "Satan y/n you scared me. I thought you were hurt or dying or-" You cut off his rambling with a quick kiss, his body instantly relaxed, "I'm sorry for scaring you, but it is very, very important and I need to have everyone here." Sodo nods understandingly, he leads you over to the couch. You lean over your knees, your leg bouncing quickly, shaking the entire couch. Normally you would do that all the time, you did have a hard time staying still, but Sodo realizes this time it's different, "Hey baby, its okay, its okay" He wraps his arms around you, causing you to lean back onto his shoulder, "Whatever you have to say you will always have my full support and love you know that." He places a gentle kiss on your forehead, "I know. It's just. This...this is different" He didn't pry.

Rain and Mountain walked in next and sat quietly on the couch, Aether and Swiss walked in chatting together next, and finally the ghoulettes sat down on the carpet, making one big circle, "Okay. Thank you all for coming." You said awkwardly, "Is this an intervention?" Aether asked as a joke, to relieve some of the tension. Everyone laughed, "No, but it is important. I've been keeping a secret from you all." They all leaned forward in confusion and curiosity, "You know how when I first came down here I said I was a new sister and was lost?" They nodded, "I'm actually related to the brothers." "Like. THE brothers?" Rian asked clarifying, "Yes, Primo, Secundo, Terzo, and I are all siblings." The room fell silent. Sodo started radiating heat. You turn to him and hold his hand, he calmed down slightly, "So, with no more male heirs, I am now Mama Emeritus the First." Gasps, 'no's, and curses fell from everyone's hung heads. The ghouls loved you more than anyone, you were their rock. You were there for them during Terzo's death and the rise of Copia without them even having a clue that you were grieving your brother,

"Sister has instructed me that you will be my ghouls, and for a long, long time because I need to have a child to carry on the name and that will not happen." Sodo squeezed your hand and held his forehead with the other. A ghoul could never take over the role as Papa, so if you did have children with Sodo, they would be illegitimate, "You all know that I love you, and that this will be a change, but if anything happens to me" Sodo squeezes your hand tighter, "Know that I won't go down without a fight and that hiding my title from you was not my choice." You start to cry. You just revealed your biggest secret to the people you trusted the most, what if they didn't like you anymore? What if they hated you now? You let go of Sodo's hand and bury your face in your hands to try and cover the waterfall of tears now flooding your face.

Sodo and you had been good at hiding your relationship, but he instinctively pulled you to his chest and rubbed circles on your back, "It's okay baby," he gently laid a few kisses to the top of your head, "We are here for you." You calmed your breathing and hugged him back. Swiss chimed in, "I'm more shocked you got with Mr. Firecracker here than you being related to the Papa's" Everyone laughs, the tension fading, "Yeah, sorry y/n, I guess that secret got out too." Sodo says still hugging you, "it's okay," You squeeze him back so he knows you are being serious about not knowing, "besides, I already told the ghoulettes" Sunshine, Cumulus, and Cirrus start laughing while the guys start yelling, "Hey that's not fair!" Aether complains, "Yeah what the hell dude" Swiss chimes in, "Y'all are blind if you didn't know" Rain said calmly, "You knew?" Mountain asked, "Duh. They're always with each other. You guys are dumb." Rain responds smirking at how offended the other guys were acting, "Back to the issue at hand," you interrupt, "We need to perform for the clergy in three days because I need to do all the ceremonial shit, so we need to practice because although I am an alto, some of the songs are too low for me to sing." Everyone nodded and walked over to their instruments

You take the mic in your hand and turn around to face everyone, "Start with Griftwood, we'll do Elizabeth, and Sister will be coming in here we'll do Mary on a Cross. Sunshine, can you sing the normal Papa harmony? I'm going to take over the highest notes." She nodded. Aether plays the starting riff, and you're off, "Yes." You growl, everyone tenses and kinda messes up on the notes, you turn around and they stop playing, "When did you learn how to do that?" Rain asks wide eyed, "I just did. Now let's go." You say slightly annoyed. Aether starts again, "Suffering for the lord is not an easy thing" You sing stiff, "Be it a conjuring so ordained and adored so immaculate, is it worth the debt?" the song goes off without a hitch,

"Elizabeth?" You turn and ask, "Give us one second to figure out chords, we haven't done it in a long time." Aether replies as you nod and watch as Sodo, Swiss, Aether, and Rain whisper about notes. They separate and begin to play, "Underneath the moonlight of old Hungarian skies, buried in the blood drenched Earth, these barren lands of ice" Goes off without a hitch again.

You take a longer break this time trying to sing Mary on a Cross in a treble key, but keeping the harmonies the same took some of your music theory education to figure it out, "Okay, so" You say into the mic, "Do not listen to me, I'm singing it in a higher key, Sunshine take over the old Papa part, Swiss take your notes up a half step, and just go for it okay?" Right when you finished, Sister and Nihil walked in, "Hi mom, hi dad" you waved Nihil ran, well, tried to, up on stage and hugged you, "Oh I'm so proud of you my precious child, you'll make your papa so proud!" "Thanks dad" You say pulling back, "Go sit with mom, we're doing Mary on a Cross" He smiles and sits on the couch facing the practice stage, "Are you ready?" You turn and ask the ghouls, they all nod. The keyboards come in, and you start to perform. You definitely take after Terzo's sexual conduct on stage, but all the hard hitting, hip thrusting Copia did was stolen from you, so you try to mix in all of those aspects, "We were speeding together down the dark avenues" Sister raised her eyebrows at the new key, "But besides all the stardom all we got was bruised, But through all the sorrow we were riding high, and the truth of the matter is I never let you go, let you go" Papa started smiling bigger and swaying back and forth to the music, while Sister kept her stare until you get to the chorus, "You go down just like holy mary, mary on a, mary on a cross. Not just another bloody mary. Mary on a Mary on a cross. If you choose to run away with me, I will tickle you internally," Yes you do the finger movements, "And I see nothing wrong with that." The guitar solo goes off without a hitch, and here comes the money note, "Nothing wrong with that" The backing vocals kick in, you take a big breath, ready to belt out this last harmony, "Nothing wrong with that" As you hold out the notes, Sister smiles, and Nihil is already standing and clapping, "Mary on a Cross".

You step back from the mic stand exhausted. You PERFORMED like it was the last time you would be able to do it. The ghouls and your parents clapped and cheered as you bowed, "My dearest daughter. You are ready." Sister walked over and gently placed her hand on the side of your cheek, "You will be Mama Emeritus the First, I am so proud of you." You start to tear up. Normally, Sister was distant to you because you were a girl. 'Only boys could be papa' She'd say every day, but now you feel validated, "It's great to hear you say so mother." With that, they left you and your ghouls.

You sigh in relief when the door closes. You squeal when you feel a pair of arms lift you up and spin you around, "Oh my Satan baby, that was amazing!" Sodo shouted, "SODO! Put me down!" you laugh. He listens, but then kisses you deeply in front of everyone. You pull back and blush, "AWWWWWW LOVE BIRDS" Swiss teases.

Everyone joins in and you hide in Sodo's chest that vibrates with his laugh, "I get to choose one song for us to do at my ritual" You announce leaning back from Sodo's chest, "I want to sing Hunter's Moon. Sister is going to bitch about it, but ignore her." Aether looked confused, "Y/n? Why do all the Papas sing the same song?" Hunter's Moon was Primo's song, but it wasn't released by the other Papas because of the song being about us, the siblings. Copia was able to use it, but your brothers sang it at their initiations too as a promise, or a goodbye to the other siblings, "It's uh," You didn't know how to explain it without being sappy, "It's a song that Primo wrote. We found it and created it. Sister didn't like it because as you know it promises us being reunited and she...doesn't let that happen." Everyone looked more confused, "Copia isn't related to me, he found the song but thought of it as a song, that's why he could release it." They nod, but still look like they have questions, "We sign it as a sign of respect for eachother and as a goodbye, but we try to have faith knowing that we'll reunite in Hell. It's like a promise." Now everyone understood, "We'll make it the best one yet y/n, I promise" Sodo said hugging you tight again, "We better get practicing" Cumulus warned, always being the mom. You separate from Sodo and start, "It's been a long time coming. I'm coming back for you my friend." You focus on the fond memories of your brothers and wish they were here to see you shine.
