~Ryan's POV~
Beep...beep...beep...
Everything hurts. That was my first thought after the droning beep began to fill my ears. I felt like someone had lit me on fire and tried to kill the flames with gasoline...
I took in a breath of air and began to cough. The air had caught somewhere, making me choke. I gasped on my air for a moment after before I cracked open my eyes.
I was in, what I could immediately recognize as, a white hospital room. Oh fuck...what happened..?
"Ry!" I turned my head slightly to see Jack and Alex rising from some chairs next to me.
"Guys?.." I coughed again and let out a slight cry of pain. I tried to move my hand to cover my mouth, but it wouldn't move. It was too heavy. I turned my head again and saw my entire arm restricted by a white cast. I looked at what I could see from the rest of my body, that wasn't covered by a blanket, but couldn't see another casting... Damn did it hurt though...
"Holy shit you're okay!" Jack pushed his hands through his hair and let out a relieved sigh.
"Define okay?.." I asked weakly.
Jack was just walking in a small circle, his hands tangled in his hair, while Alex stood by my bed.
"Dude, we were all on our way and we saw it happen right in front of us..." There was a fear behind his eyes as he spoke.
"On our way?.." After I said it, I noticed their clothing. Alex was in an open blue suit with a purple tie to match his hair. Jack's matching suit jacket was sitting on the chair where he had been. His tie was red and loose around his neck.
"On our way..."
"To the venue." Alex said lowly.
My eyes grew wide. I could remember now. I looked around the room, but I was the only occupied bed.
"Where's Brendon?!" I asked, feeling panic in my chest. We were on our way. I could remember our conversation in the car before the bright lights overtook us.

"C'mon, baby, let me fix it." Brendon laughed, sliding over in his seat and climbing onto my lap. I had been attempting to fix my tie, but to no avail. Brendon only had a simple snap together bow tie.
"We're in a moving vehicle!" I argued. Right as I said it, the car hit a bump, sending Brendon's head to bump against the roof.
He simply let out an "ow" and scooted further up on my lap.
"Yea, but we're not driving." He shrugged. He began looping my tie around in a way that didn't make sense to me, but got the job done. He smiled with accomplishment looking at his work before his eyes trailed up to mine.
"Hey..." I said a bit breathlessly. We had been together years, but he could still do this to me...
His smile morphed into a toothy grin. "Hi." He laughed. He leaned in close, so our noses were just brushing against each other. "Is it still me that makes you sweat?" He asked, the grin still on his face before he started giggling.
"Oh my god." I laughed, pushing him away slightly. "You can't just quote lyrics we were writing!" I was laughing, but I could feel sadness nagging at the back of my mind.
We were well on our way to starting a band. I mean, we were sounding pretty decent; me, John, Brendon, and Spencer... Before he was killed. It had just been over a year after we lost our other friend, Pete... Which had really been my fault...
"Hey...Baby boy, none of that." Brendon's soft voice lulled me from my thoughts. He wore a slight frown as one of his hands slid up to my cheek. When he saw me looking at him, he smiled again. "There you are. No sad thoughts. This is a happy day. Night? Whatever!"
I laughed at his slight rambling at the end, and he let out a laugh too. He leaned in and pressed a kiss against my lips.
"I just wish they were here..." I breathed when he pulled away.
"I know, baby..." Brendon's hand trailed down my cheek and continued down until it stopped above my heart. "We made it through senior year...and the year after...and we're still here. Alive and about to start our life." He looked up at me and smiled again.
I smiled back. I brought my own hand up and held it against his.
"I love you." I whispered.
"I love you more." Brendon grinned. He leaned in again, pressing our lips together. His hand pressed against my chest just a bit...

"Alex, where is he!?" I tried to prop myself up, but it hurt too much. I cried out and scrunched my eyes shut.
"Ryan! Jus-just calm down..." His tone was nervous.
I opened my eyes and noticed that Jack had stopped walking around behind him. The nerves were starting to hit me.
Something bad had happened.
Something really bad had happened.
"Guys. Please." I begged.
They wouldn't speak. They only exchanged worried glances.
"Ryan..." Alex trailed off.
"We're not supposed to give him any stressors..." Jack mumbled, looking down.
"YOU'RE STRESSING ME BY NOT TELLING ME!" I yelled, leaning back against the pillow behind me. I felt like letting the tears on the edge of my vision spill. Not just from my physical pain, but from not having him here...Not knowing where he was.
"Ryan...it was a bad accident..." Alex continued, "Brendon...Brendon was dead on arrival to the hospital... I'm sorry..."
"No..." I looked at him, letting my tears fall freely, "No, no, no...please..."
Jack wouldn't look up from the floor. Alex kept glancing from the bed to me. It couldn't be real... That couldn't of happened...
"I can't loose him too!.." I cried out, completely breaking down. As much as it hurt to shake, I couldn't stop. It hurt so much, but I didn't know what pain was worse.
