CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE, karate games
Kate walks out of Falafel Phil's, sending Jack a thankful smile when he held the door open for her. Her face flushes when he smiled back at her and leaned over to kiss her cheek when she walked by him. The couple was planning on heading out to the courtyard to eat with their friends, who sat at one of the tables in the courtyard. But a sudden commotion caught their attention. Kate's eyes widen at seeing Milton standing on top of his chair, pointing at a guy. She was confused at seeing a helicopter in the air too, but then remembered the news about the police that had been trying to search for an escape prisoner.
"Don't you dare move, mister!" Milton calls out to a guy, who was holding a newspaper. Kate didn't understand why Milton was pointing him out, but then she noticed the orange pants and what the pants read and realized he was the person the police were looking for. And she had noticed a police officer had just walked out of Falafel Phills before she and Jack did. How did he not notice the guy? "Don't you move!"
"Wow, he's a horrible listener." Ashton commented, eyes widening when the man suddenly got up as he glared at Milton. He quickly got up and helped Kim with getting everyone out of the way to safety when the guy ran towards them. Ashton and Kim shared an annoyed look when Jerry, Milton, and Eddie hid behind three old ladies who stood near Falafel Phills. They could've helped out but instead they were too scared.
"Jackie, come on." Kate set her tray on a nearby table down, knowing that they should help get this guy.
"On it, babe." Jack set his tray down just as the prisoner reached them. He kicked the guy in the stomach, causing him to stumble back. Yelling angrily, he threw a punch at Jack, who ducked and stepped out of the way. Kate joined in the fight, kicking him in the side and hitting his arm when he went to throw another punch. Kate managed to grab ahold of his arm, sending a nod to Jack, who nodded back at her and grabbed the guy's other arm. Together they both flipped the guy onto a nearby table.
Kate smirks, high fiving Jack. "Heck yeah, we got him! Now I can cross off fighting an escaped prisoner off my bucket list."
Jack raises his eyebrows, amusement shining in his eyes. "You had that on your bucket list?" He asked with a laugh, wrapping his arm around her waist to pull her to his side.
"Okay, well, no. I was kidding." Kate admits, shrugging. "But still that was cool that we just stopped an escaped prisoner from running free."
"You did good, baby." Jack grinned, leaning down to kiss the top of her head. Kate smiled fondly at him, her cheeks flushing as she snuggled into his side. They watch as two police officer come over to take the escaped prisoner away.
Jerry then steps forward. "Okay, the show's over. Remain calm, people. We got him."
"We?" Kate scoffs, sharing a look with Jack before they both sent a look to Jerry. "We weren't the ones hiding behind those sweet older ladies over there." She retorted, gesturing to herself and Jack and their friends.
"You're lucky you didn't have to deal with me." Milton told the escaped prisoner. "Because then you would have met Laverne and Shirley!" He raised his fists, glaring at the man. The man wasn't threatened at all and in fact it only seemed to anger him. He yelled at Milton, lunging forward, but was held back by the two officers who was handcuffing him now.
"Mommy!" Milton screamed, running off with Jerry and Eddie, who both were screaming as well.
Kate chuckles, sharing an amused look with Jack, Ashton, and Kim. Ashton scoffs, crossing his arms. "Can you believe those guys were scared of him?"
Kim looks at him with amusement. "If you're not scared then why are you hiding behind me?" Ashton had quickly moved to hide behind her, not liking the angry look on the prisoner's face.
Ashton grins sheepishly from behind Kim, clearly embarrassed by the moment of cowardice. "I didn't want to take any chances. That guy looked pretty intense."

"Guys, we've been on the news all day." Jack announced while he and Kate walked inside the dojo the next day, his hand intertwined with hers. Ever since the chaotic moment that happened in the courtyard yesterday, the couple had gotten quite popular after being on the news. Kate was surprised to see how much attention they had garnered. The news coverage had highlighted their bravery in capturing the escaped prisoner, making them local heroes. It was both exciting and overwhelming.
"Yeah," Kate agrees with a grin. She then added how they were given a nickname based on the fact they're a couple. "They even nicknamed us 'The Kack Attack.' Pretty cool, right? So they used the surveillance footage that they got from the security camera in the mall and we look so cool! It was so cool to see us on TV." She gushed. She was really excited about their newfound fame. She didn't think she would be this excited about this newfound fame since she was usually more reserved about these types of things, but she was happy with how things were going.
Jack watches her with a fond smile. She was beaming with happiness and excitement and he couldn't help but feel warm and fuzzy inside. She was just too adorable for her own good. She had been like this since she found out about the news coverage, and Jack had to admit that it was pretty cute. Plus he was proud of her, usually she wouldn't like attention like this, but she was embracing it and Jack was glad she was happy. He loved seeing her smile, and he was happy that she was getting the recognition she deserved.
He wraps his arm around her shoulders, leaning over to kiss the top of her head. "You're really enjoying this, huh?" He asked, chuckling.
Kate blushes when she realized she might've been bragging about it. "Sorry, I didn't mean to talk about it so much." She apologized, embarrassed.
"No, it's cute." Jack grinned, pressing a kiss to her temple. Kate smiled at him, relieved that he wasn't annoyed with her.
"Hey, you guys aren't the only ones on the news." Jerry speaks up, earning a confused look from the couple. "Yeah, on Spanish TV, they mentioned me, Eddie, and Milton. They called us 'Los tres gusanos sin espinas'."
"Wow, what does that mean?" Jack asked curiously.
Jerry frowns. "Three spineless worms." Eddie's and Milton's face fell at that revelation.
Kate sends them a sympathetic look, frowning. "Aw, that's not cool, guys. Sorry."
"There they are. Guys, look who's here!" Rudy called out while he walks out of his office with a man following him. Everyone immediately grew excited and starstruck.
"I don't believe it. It's Dolph Gruber!" Milton gasped.
"I've seen all your movies. You're the best action star ever." Jack commented, grinning at Dolph.
"Aw, you're too kind." Dolph replies, his Austrian accent thick. He walks over to Jack, shaking his hand. "I saw you on the news last night, Kack Attack. What you do is incredible." Both Jack and Kate act cool, trying not to show their excitement, but the fact that they were talking to an action movie star was just too cool. Kate was a huge fan and she knew Jack was too. "Hello, spineless worms." He greeted Jerry, Eddie, and Milton and they all frown.
"Uh, what brings you to our dojo?" Eddie questioned.
"I want you two in my movie I what I'm wanting." Dolph reveals, glancing back at the couple with a smile. Jack and Kate look at each other with surprise and disbelief as Dolph explains his movie. "I'm directing what will be the greatest martial arts movie ever. An epic battle for survival. It's called 'The Karate Games'. Do you lub it?" He dramatically explained.
"Of course we lub it!" Kate grins at him. "But, uh, we're clearly not actors." She told him.
"That's why you're perfect. Actors are fake. You are real. You're fresh, you're gutsy, you have great hair." Dolph commented.
Kate looks at him with surprise but then smiles widely at him. "Oh, thank you."
"I was talking to the boy." Dolph admitted.
"Ha!" Jack grinned, nudging Kate playfully. Kate chuckled and rolled her eyes.
The next thing Dolph says with his Austrian accent he pronounces the couple's name in a funny way. "What do you say, Yak and Kaht?"
"Heck yeah, let's do this!" Kate cheered. She couldn't believe this. They could be in a movie directed by Dolph Gruber. This was a dream come true.
Jack grins. "Watch out Hollywood. Here comes Yak and Kaht!"
****
Kate had to pinch herself to make sure this was real. She was in Hollywood on a movie set for a movie directed by one of the best directors, Dolph Gruber. It was unbelievable. She was still shocked by it all, but she couldn't deny how cool this all was. Jack was the same way, his eyes shining with awe as they looked around. The two were practically bouncing in excitement, they couldn't wait to get started. Dolph had led them to a set that looked similar to a underground bunker that had a ladder on the wall.
"We shoot the first scene right here. This is your underground bunker." Dolph pointed out.
"Oh, cool!" Rudy excitedly runs towards the bunk beds and tries to jump on the top one. Rudy had gone with the couple since they needed and adult to go with them. Kate giggles, covering her mouth to stifle the giggle as she watches her cousin miserably fail to jump on the top bunk. He then finally ends up sitting on the bottom bunk with a sheepish look. "It's good."
Kate giggled as she watches Rudy's antics. The sight of her cousin trying to climb up to the top bunk, only to fail spectacularly, lightened the mood even more. She then glanced back at Dolph, who continued to explain the movie.
Dolph turns to Jack and Kate. "Your characters are enemies. But you're brought together by the most powerful thing in the universe. A kiss."
"This is an enemies to lovers movie? Heck yeah, I'm so on board with it." Kate excitedly says, smiling widely. Enemies to lovers was one of her favorite tropes. She loved the idea of the main characters who were once enemies and were forced to spend time together and fall in love. And now she and Jack got to live out one of her favorite tropes. She was a hopeless romantic and she couldn't wait to get into her role. But then her face fell as she realized something. "How are we gonna act like we hate each other? I couldn't hate you, I love you." Kate's excitement turned to mild concern as she pondered the challenge of portraying enemies on screen. Jack chuckled, noticing her expression.
"I love you too, Rina. But hey, don't worry," He said, giving her a reassuring smile, squeezing her hand that was intertwined with his. "It's all just acting. We can make it work. Plus you've read so many books with enemies to lovers in it — you know exactly how it's supposed to go. We can channel that into our performances."
Kate smiles and nods, feeling more confident with Jack's encouragement. "You're right. Let's do this."
Dolph, overhearing their conversation, nods enthusiastically and smiles widely at the couple. "Exactly! The chemistry you two have is perfect for this. Just focus on that tension and the eventual romance. It will come across naturally."
Jack gave Kate a playful nudge. "See? Even Dolph Gruber thinks we can do it. We're going to be awesome."
Kate laughs, her worries melting away. "Okay, let's do this. I'm ready to bring this enemies-to-lovers story to life."
With their spirits lifted and excitement renewed, Jack and Kate eagerly prepared for their roles. Dolph's vision for the movie was clear, and the chance to work on such a project was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Even if it meant acting like they hated each other, they were determined to do their best and give it their all.
****
Jack and Kate soon enough went over their script and got into wardrobe. Kate was giddy the whole time she was in wardrobe and she kept grinning to herself in the mirror. She never thought she would actually like being an actor but so far she loved it even though she hadn't actually acted yet. But she could definitely get used to getting pampered like this. The movie's makeup and hair stylist made sure to make her look just right for her role, enhancing her features and giving her a look that perfectly matched her character's edgy style. Kate admired herself in the mirror, feeling a rush of excitement as she took in her new look. She could hardly believe she was really in Hollywood, about to film a movie with her boyfriend.
The stylists then began to help her get into costume. As they dressed her, she couldn't help but feel nervous. Would she be able to pull off the character she was playing? She never acted before. How would she do? She hoped she wouldn't disappoint everyone, especially Dolph. He seemed so enthusiastic about the couple and his vision for the movie. She didn't want to let him down.
As they helped her finish her costume, the stylist compliments her. "You look amazing, sweetheart."
"Really? You think so?" Kate asked, smiling sheepishly.
The stylist nods, returning her smile. "Of course! You're going to be a star. Don't worry, honey. You've got this."
Kate blushed, feeling her nerves dissipate slightly. Her words were reassuring, and Kate felt more confident. But there was still a twinge of doubt. Would she really be a good actress? Only time would tell. She thanked the stylist and headed out, hoping to find Jack and see his reaction to her outfit. As she stepped out of the trailer, she heard a wolf whistle and turned to see Jack looking her over with an appreciative grin. Jack's eyes were wide as he took in Kate's new look. She was dressed in a sleek, edgy outfit that perfectly suited her character — a sharp contrast to her usual style but still totally captivating. Her hair and makeup were done impeccably, giving her a fierce and confident appearance.
"Well, hello, gorgeous. You're certainly rocking the bada** girl look." Jack complimented, smiling as he walked over to her.
Kate blushes, but the grin never left her face. "Really? You like it?" She asked, glancing down at herself. She was wearing black denim shorts with a leather jacket, a white tank top, and combat boots. Her makeup was smokey and her hair was in a pony tail. She felt more confident in her appearance, and the praise from Jack only boosted her confidence even further. But despite all the positive reactions she was receiving, she couldn't help but be a bit worried. Was it too much? Was it not enough? Worry and doubt filled her mind, but she pushed it aside, trying to focus on the positives.
A hand gently grips her chin, bringing her gaze back up. She meets Jack's brown eyes, noticing the sincerity and fondness shining in his eyes. She blushes when she notices the loving smile on his lips. "Baby, you're always gorgeous. But right now? You look absolutely stunning," Jack said softly, his eyes filled with admiration. "And don't worry, you'll kill it out there. I have no doubt."
Kate's cheeks flushed a deeper red at the compliment. His words were so sincere and genuine that it made her heart swell with joy and affection. She felt the remaining traces of doubt and worry melt away, and she leaned into his touch, basking in the comfort and warmth that radiated from his body. She was truly blessed to have a boyfriend as supportive and loving as Jack. And despite his own worries, he was always there to reassure and encourage her, lifting her spirits and giving her strength.
"Thanks, baby. That means a lot," She murmurs, smiling warmly. "You look pretty handsome yourself." Her eyes trail over his outfit, admiring how the tight-fitting clothes accentuated his muscular physique. He wore camo pants, a grey long sleeve shirt, a black leather jacket, and black combat boots. He looked like a total bada** and Kate couldn't help but appreciate the view. Kate couldn't keep her eyes off him. She always thought he looked amazing, but right now he was looking exceptionally hot.
"Really?" Jack smirks, feeling his face grow warm at seeing her checking him out. She nods, her face turning pink as she shyly meets his gaze. "I'm glad you approve." He teased, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her close. Kate giggled, leaning up to press a kiss to his lips. He smiled against her lips as they shared a tender moment, their worries and doubts temporarily fading away. The passion and affection between them were palpable, and for a brief moment, it was just the two of them, caught up in their own little world.
As they pulled back, Jack grins at her. "Ready to show Hollywood what we've got?" he asked, his voice full of excitement.
Kate's eyes sparkles with determination. "Absolutely."
**THE SCENE**
"But I hate you. You're from Zone Five. You vaporized my father." Viella snarled, anger flashing in her eyes as she pushed the boy in front of her back. She hated the boy with his cocky and arrogant attitude, and his tendency to get under her skin. Why couldn't he leave her alone? She didn't need anyone. Especially not some boy from Zone Five.
The boy glares at her, his own anger simmering below the surface. "I had to vaporize him." Malachi retorts, pushing her back. "He was implanted with the evil egg and smelled of elderberries." He spoke with disgust, his face contorting in a grimace. He hated that Viella was being so difficult, she was always so difficult. He didn't understand why she was being like this, why did she insist on making things difficult for him? All he wanted to do was help her. But every time he tried, she pushed him away. He only vaporized her father because he would've hurt them all. He wouldn't have been the same person. So Malachi had killed him before Viella's dad could kill everyone and possibly infect them too.
These type of aliens that had suddenly overtook the Earth used elderberries to spread their evil eggs into humans. Once the humans were infected they were easily manipulated into doing their bidding and killing others. It was a dangerous time, and the people of the world had to band together to defeat them. The evil eggs were implanted in elderberries, which was the only way the aliens could control the humans and have them do their bidding. If a human ate an elderberry, they would be infected and controlled. But luckily the two were immune. They were the only ones immune. There had been a legend that one day two immune people from different Zones would come together and save the world, but with Viella and Malachi being enemies, that didn't seem possible.
Viella rolls her eyes at him. "That's not the point. You didn't have to be so...Cruel about it." She muttered, walking to the other side of the bunker. She just needed to get away from him. She hated his guts. Why couldn't he leave her alone? He just killed her father, she lost the only family she had left. He had no idea how hard this was for her, he hadn't lost anyone he cared about to the aliens. He was just a self-absorbed jerk who only thought about himself.
"Don't walk away from me, I'm not done talking, Viella. He was going to kill us. I had to protect us." Malachi argues, following her. "If I didn't vaporize him, then he could've infect others, and then we would all be doomed."
Viella sighs and turns to face him. "I know that, but it's just-"
"You're being a child." Malachi cuts her off. "We have a job to do. And that job is to save the world from these aliens and stop them from taking over the entire planet. Now, are you going to help me or not?"
Viella narrows her eyes at him, crossing her arms. "Do you know how hard this is for me? I just lost my dad! And you're treating me like some child! I hate it when people treat me like I'm stupid and weak because I'm not. Just 'cause I'm younger than you, doesn't mean that I'm weak or less of a fighter than you."
"That's not what I'm saying." Malachi sighs, clearly frustrated. "I just meant that-"
"I don't care what you meant." Viella snaps. "You think you know what's best because you're older or whatever, but you don't. I need you to understand that I'm hurting, that I'm grieving. My father was everything to me, and now he's gone because of you. So forgive me if I can't just put my emotions aside and jump into saving the world like it's no big deal like you can. We aren't all cold-hearted like you, Malachi. Some of us actually have feelings." Viella's voice cracked and her eyes water as she spoke. She can't believe he can be so insensitive and callous, like her father's death didn't matter. Like her pain doesn't matter. Like her feelings don't matter. Like nothing matters but this stupid mission.
Malachi's jaw clenches, his frustration and guilt mingling. "I do know what it's like to lose people. My own family—" He stops abruptly, realizing he's about to open wounds he's not ready to share. "Look, I didn't want to be the one to tell you. I didn't want to be the one to make these decisions. But I did what I had to do to keep us all safe. I'm not saying it was easy or that it's fair." Malachi sighs, running a hand through his hair. "I know you're hurting, and I'm sorry for your loss. But we have to move forward. The world needs us. The fate of humanity rests in our hands. So stop being a selfish brat and get over yourself! Just because you're one of the best hunters in Zone Nine, doesn't mean you get to act like you're the only one who's suffering. You aren't the only one who's lost people. We've all lost people, but we have a job to do and if you can't pull yourself together and do your part, then you might as well stay behind and I'll save the world without you." Malachi's tone is harsh, and he regrets his words almost instantly. But it's too late, the damage is done.
Viella stares at him, her eyes wide with shock and hurt. The harshness of his words cuts through her, and for a moment, she is speechless, her breath catching in her throat. Her face flushes with a mix of anger and sadness, her emotions threatening to overwhelm her.
"Selfish brat?" She repeats, her voice shaking. "You have no idea what you're talking about. You think I'm being selfish? I'm just trying to cope with the loss of my father, and you're here belittling my pain. I'm not asking for sympathy or for you to fix anything. I'm just asking for a little understanding." She takes a deep breath, her heart pounding. "I didn't ask for this, this responsibility to save the world. I never wanted any of this. I'm just trying to do the best I can. I don't need you to make it harder by dismissing my feelings. I don't expect you to understand what I'm going through, but the least you could do is respect that it's a difficult time for me."
Viella scoffs. "I mean, that's real nice coming from you...Mr. High and Mighty, I'm better than everyone else because I'm from Zone Five and the son of the great leader, Malkor, I have great hair, and all the girls love me." She mocked him, her voice taking on a deeper, sarcastic tone as she pretended to dramatically run her hand through her hair, being more dramatic on what he did with his hair.
Malachi glares at her, his hands forming into fists at his sides. "I don't sound like that."
Viella ignores his comment and speaks in her normal voice as she continues to rant. "You think you're so special just because you're dad's the leader of the resistance. You think you're so superior because of your background and your privileges, but guess what? That doesn't make you any more of a human than me. It doesn't make your pain any more significant. We're all suffering. We all lost people. We're all just trying to survive in this messed up world. So don't go around acting like you're above it all just because you're from Zone Five. Stop making everything about you."
Malachi sighs. "I never said I was above it all or making everything about me, Viella. I just—"
"You just what?" Viella interrupts Malachi, her eyes blazing with fury. "You think you're better than me, don't you?"
"I didn't say that." Malachi argued.
"But you're thinking it. I can see it in your eyes. You look at me like I'm some lowly peasant from Zone Nine, like I'm beneath you. Most people think that. But I'm not. I'm a human being just like you, and I deserve to be treated with respect." Viella's voice was laced with venom, her anger and resentment boiling over. She was sick and tired of being treated like she was lesser because of where she was born and her social standing. She was just as important as anyone else, and she was done being pushed around. "I don't want to work with you, you're nothing but an arrogant, self-absorbed, jerk. You may be the son of the great Malkor, and have all the privileges and opportunities that comes with it, but it doesn't make you any better than the rest of us. Just because you have a fancy title and a pretty face doesn't mean you get to treat the rest of us like dirt. Get out. I don't want to see your stupid, smug face anymore."
The two stared at each other, their eyes locked in a heated gaze. The tension in the room was palpable, the air heavy with animosity and hostility. They both were stubborn and refused to back down, neither wanting to give in. They were both too proud and strong-willed to admit defeat. But deep down, beneath the layers of anger and resentment, there was something else — a spark of something deeper, more powerful, something neither of them could fully comprehend. Neither of them realized it or maybe they did and didn't want to admit it, that along their journey they had, in fact, developed feelings for each other. And that was why they were fighting so much.
"Fine, you know what, if you're so independent then save the world by yourself." Malachi growled, turning and heading to the ladder.
Viella furrows her eyebrows, feeling a tinge of panic. What was she doing? She was losing her only ally in the fight against the aliens. But she had her pride, and she was stubborn and didn't want to give in. "Good. Go. I don't need you anyway."
"Gladly." Malachi snapped, climbing up the ladder.
Viella watched him, feeling the tiniest bit of regret. She was about to call after him, but the words died on her lips. No, she wouldn't give in. She could handle herself just fine. She didn't need him. She had done well on her own before he came into her life. She didn't need him. But then why did she feel so sad? A lump formed in her throat, tears brimming her eyes. No, she couldn't cry. Not in front of him. Not in front of anyone. She was strong. She had to be. The fate of the world depended on her. But as she watched him leave, a part of her broke. Maybe this wasn't good. He shouldn't leave. They had a job to do, and they had to work together to save the world. But her stubborn pride wouldn't let her admit that.
Her feet moved before her brain could register what she was doing. She rushes towards the ladder, words stumbling out of her mouth. "Malachi, wait! Don't go." She pleaded, reaching the ladder as she got ready to climb it in case she needed to go after him. She couldn't believe she was doing this. She wasn't good with emotions and she was terrible at apologizing. But she knew that if she let him go, then she'd be losing her last chance to save the world and her last chance to have him in her life.
Malachi pauses, his hand gripping the hatch. He turned his head slightly, glancing back at her. His expression was unreadable, a mix of anger and sadness. "Why should I stay?"
Viella swallows thickly, feeling a rush of emotion. "Because...We need each other. The fate of the world depends on us." She didn't want to admit that she needed him. That she wanted him to stay. She had a tough exterior and was always the independent girl who could handle anything. But now, with everything changing and the world crumbling around her, she couldn't do this alone. She needed him.
Malachi turns and looks at her. His expression was softer, the anger in his eyes dissipating. "Is that the only reason why?"
Viella chews her lip, feeling her face heat up. Her heart was racing, her nerves getting the better of her. "No...There's another reason why." She mumbled, looking down. She couldn't meet his eyes, she was too embarrassed.
"Tell me." Malachi gently urged, his voice soft as he began climbing back down the ladder.
"I..." Viella falters, taking a deep breath. She had never been good with expressing her feelings, and right now was no exception. "I don't want you to leave. Because...I...I care about you." She confessed, her voice barely above a whisper.
A small smile formed on Malachi's lips. He had always suspected that she cared for him, but he had never been sure. Hearing her say those words out loud made his heart skip a beat, and he felt his own feelings for her grow stronger. He moves to stand front of her. "Yeah?" He asks, a teasing tone in his voice. "You care about me? Who knew the Zone Nine rebel could be so sweet."
Viella sighs heavily, rolling her eyes. "And then you say something like that and remind me how annoying you can be. I can't believe you would actually think that I could have any sort of feelings for you. That would be ridiculous. I mean, look at you, you're just some cocky, arrogant, Zone Five boy with great hair and a pretty face who thinks he's better than everyone else. Well, guess what, I don't care. And just so you know, I would rather kiss a toad than ever even entertain the thought of kissing yo-"
Her rambling is cut off by Malachi pressing his lips against hers. Her eyes widen in surprise, her heart beating rapidly in her chest. His lips were soft and warm, his hands gripped her waist, pulling her closer to him. He kissed her with such passion and intensity that it made her knees weak, and her head spin. She felt the butterflies fluttering in her stomach, the heat spreading across her cheeks, and the goosebumps prickling her skin. She was completely caught off guard by his actions, but she couldn't deny how much she loved it. She hated that she liked it, this was supposed to be the boy she hated, but he was making her question everything she thought she knew about him. She felt conflicted, but right now all she could think about was kissing him. And how good his lips felt on hers. And that she honestly liked feeling his body against hers and his hands on her. She didn't want him to let go.
As they pulled back, Malachi smirks, feeling proud at seeing the shocked expression on her face. Her lips were swollen and red, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes wide. She was a sight to behold. "You were saying? Something about me having great hair and having a pretty face?"
"Oh, shut up." Viella grabbed the collar of his jacket and pulled him down for another kiss. She couldn't believe she was kissing the boy she supposedly hated, but right now, in this moment, all she could think about was his lips on hers. She didn't care about anything else, not the war, not the aliens, not even her now dead father. All that mattered was him and the way he made her feel. She had never felt like this before, so alive and happy. And she couldn't get enough. She knew this was dangerous, that she could get hurt, but in this moment, she didn't care. All she cared about was him and the way he made her feel.
They kissed each other, their lips moving in sync as their bodies pressed against each other. They were both lost in the moment, forgetting about the world around them. His hands slid up to cup her face, while her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. They were completely enraptured by each other, lost in their own little world. The chemistry between them was electric, their passion and attraction for each other was palpable, and the connection between them was undeniable. He had never felt this way about anyone before, and neither had she. It was like they were made for each other, and nothing could tear them apart.
**END SCENE**
"Cut! That was perfect, you guys!" Dolph calls out, but the couple was still entangled in each other's arms, continuing their make-out session. "Guys! We're done!" He shouted, clapping his hands together to get their attention as amusement shined in his eyes.
Kate pulls back finally after finally hearing him, giggling as Jack gives her a final peck on the lips. They both were blushing, their cheeks flushed, and their eyes bright with happiness. They were both clearly high on their affection for each other, and it was cute to see. Dolph laughs as he walks over to them. "Well, I have to say, that was the best acting I've ever seen. I think you two really nailed it." He praised, clapping his hands.
"Thank you, sir. We appreciate it." Kate said, giving him a grateful smile. "I'm really glad you liked our scene. I was worried we wouldn't be able to pull it off."
"Are you kidding? It was perfect! The emotion, the chemistry, the passion. It was all there. You guys did amazing." Dolph replied, beaming with pride.
Jack smirks, his arm around Kate's shoulders. "Well, you have my girl to thank for that. I just followed her lead." He winked, causing her face to heat up.
Dolph chuckles. "You guys are adorable. Alright, go take a break. Be back in five minutes." He said, dismissing them.
Jack nods and leads Kate off the set. "Let's go get some water and snacks, yeah?"
Kate nods. "Yeah, I could use a snack. I'm starving." She admitted, smiling as he led her to the food table. She was glad the first scene was done, and she was even more excited about the next one. The kiss had been intense and passionate, and she was still trying to process what had happened. She couldn't believe how quickly things had progressed, her face was still red and butterflies fluttered in her stomach. She was feeling giddy, a grin spread across her face. "Can you believe that just happened?" She asked, unable to stop herself from smiling.
Jack laughs, shaking his head. "Not at all. It's insane." He admits, handing her a bottle of water and a bag of chips. "But, it was fun. I always love kissing you." He grinned, nudging her with his elbow as he got his own water and snacks.
Kate giggles, feeling her face heat up. She had to admit, she enjoyed kissing him too. He was a good kisser and he knew exactly what to do to drive her crazy. "I know what you mean. I can't get enough of you." She smirked as she ate some chips from the bag she held.
Jack grins, wiggling his eyebrows. "Yeah, you can't get enough of these lips." He teased, leaning in and kissing her cheek. She giggled and smiled at him, her heart skipping a beat. He was so charming and sweet, and he always knew how to make her laugh.
"You're so cheesy." She rolls her eyes, nudging him with her elbow. "But seriously, that was fun. I can't believe we just kissed like that in front of everyone. I was nervous about that, but when we kissed it was like...I don't know. It was like nothing else mattered."
"Yeah, it was like we were the only two people in the world." Jack agrees, his eyes full of adoration as he gazed at her. "It was amazing."
"Yeah, it was." Kate smiled softly.
They stood there, enjoying the moment and each other's company. There was a comfortable silence between them, neither needing to say anything. They leaned against the wall as they ate their snacks and drank their water, their arms brushing against each other. The break was nice, and it gave them time to recover and relax. They needed to rest and recharge before the next scene.
