CHAPTER TWELVE, reality fights
Everyone was currently in the dojo, practicing for upcoming tournaments. Kate was sparring with Jack in the dojo when she heard a thud that was followed by a groan of pain. She and Jack stopped sparring, sharing an amused look after finding out Kim had knocked Jerry to the ground.
Rudy quickly walks over, looking at Jerry with a glare. "Hey, hey, hey, hey! You kids are getting sweat all over my mats."
"That for sure shows your concern for Jerry." Kate sarcastically commented, walking over to offer a hand to help Jerry up. He sent her a smile and took her hand. She let go of his hand when he was standing, patting his shoulder to comfort him before she glanced at Rudy with annoyance at what he said next.
"This is why we can't have nice things!" Rudy whined, kneeling on the mat and began cleaning the sweat with a towel he held.
Jack walks over to Rudy. "Rudy, calm down." He looks at Rudy with confusion. "Why are you getting so worked up?"
"Bobby Wasabi is on his way here right now and he's got big news!" Rudy responded.
Eddie smiles. "I love his entrances. His last one was so cool."
Kate grimaces upon remembering that entrance. "Oh, great, thanks for reminding me about that." She sarcastically spoke.
Jack glances at Eddie with disbelief. "It was not cool. If you're going to wear a kimono and fly on a jetpack, dude, put on some underpants."
Rudy stands up. "Well, this time he promised his entrance isn't going to be a big deal. He wants everything quiet and lowkey."
Kate raises her eyebrows in disbelief. "Bobby, quiet, and lowkey in the same sentence? Never thought I would hear that." She shares a look with Jack when a fanfare horn is heard. "That didn't sound quiet or lowkey to me." She commented and he nodded in agreement.
The group looks over at the doors to see ninjas pulling Bobby inside the dojo on a hot tub on wheels. "Quiet and lowkey, huh?" Milton teased.
"I would've been here sooner, but we hit a pothole and blew out a ninja." Bobby explained. He got out of the hot tub, wearing a cheetah print swimsuit and he put on some slippers as one ninja got a towel and another ninja got a robe for him.
"That is an awesome ride." Eddie complimented.
Jerry's eyes widen, looking at the hot tub on wheels in awe. "I wonder if it's street legal."
"It's part hot tub, part rickshaw, and all partay!" Bobby grinned as one of his ninjas wiped off the soap that was on him with a towel. The other ninja then put the robe on him.
"So, Bobby, what's the big news?" Eddie questioned.
"I just signed a deal to produce a brand new martial arts reality show called..." Bobby pauses for dramatic effect as he ties the robe. He smirks and dramatically exclaims "Wasabi Warrior!" He furrows his eyebrows when he didn't get the response from everyone he expected. Everyone stared at him with an unamused look. "And it's going to take place in a dojo!" He adds. When everyone continues to stay quiet, he quickly adds, "Your dojo!" Now that got everyone's attention and caused them to be excited. Everyone started talking over each other out of excitement, but they grow quiet as Bobby explained the show.
"Six karate students living together in a world where they must out play, out fight, and out wit one another. You'll be playing for a brand new Kamasaki water rider!"
Everyone exclaimed words of surprise and excitement as Bobby's ninjas brought in a water rider. Kate couldn't believe she could actually get a chance to win something as cool as that ride. She honestly loved being out on the water and this would give her another reason to spend more time at the beach.
"Hang on a second, guys." Eddie speaks up. "We've all seen those reality shows. Sometimes they bring out the worst in people."
"Yeah, Eddie's right." Rudy agrees. "I mean, this dojo is a place of honor where we come to study martial arts and-"
"All I need is a host." Bobby interjected.
Rudy's eyes widen and he grins excitedly. "Oh! Ooh!" He runs over to him and points at himself. "Please, please, pick me, pick me! I've wanted to be a reality show host my whole life."
"No you haven't." Kate scoffed. She knew Rudy just wanted to be a host to be on TV.
"Alright, you'll do." Bobby shrugged.
"I'm a host!" Rudy cheered.
Bobby grins. "Yeah."
"I'm the host!" Rudy points at himself, continuing to grin. He gasps. "I need a fanfare!" He grabbed a fanfare horn from one of Bobby's ninjas and blows into it. It wasn't as strong sounding or great as when the ninja played it causing everyone to wince or grimace at the awful sound.
Rudy then coughs after he finished playing. He looks at the fanfare with disgust. "This thing is filled with ninja spit."

Bobby stands in front of a red curtain and on the curtain was a sign of a ninja and the sign read 'Wasabi Warrior'. Bobby hits the gong behind him with a mallet, facing the camera in front of him. "Six karate students are about to face the challenge of their lives." On the screen 'Sensei Bobby Wasabi, Martial Arts Legend' shows up, showing people watching the show who Bobby is. Then each of the students were introduced, standing on a circle platform that spun as they did a pose.
"Jack." Jack did a karate move for a pose, smirking at the camera.
"Kate." Kate had her hands on her hips for a pose and was smiling at the camera.
"Kim." Kim also did a karate move for a pose, but she then flipped her hair over her shoulder and smiled at the camera while she waved.
"Eddie." Eddie waved at the camera with a wide smile on his face.
"Milton." Milton tried doing the iconic karate move that Daniel LaRusso did in the Karate Kid movie, almost losing his balance at the last second.
"Jerry." Jerry only did his pose for a few seconds before he lost his balance on the platform, eyes widening and he yelped as he fell off the platform.
The screen then shows Bobby. He smiles at the camera, putting his hands on his hips and dramatically states, "Only one can be the Wasabi Warrior."
****
Kate and the gang were now standing outside of the dojo. The blinds were down which meant Kate and her friends couldn't see what inside looked like. Rudy stood at the front doors, smiling at the camera. "Welcome to Wasabi Warrior."
'Sensei Rudy' appears on screen to show people who Rudy is as he continues to speak. Milton sneaks up behind Rudy, waving and smiling at the camera as he mouths 'hi, mom, I love you'. "I'm your host, Sensei Rudy." Still smiling, Rudy shoves Milton off to the side out of frame. He then looks at the gang and the camera shows all of them as he talks with the six students. "You're about to enter a world of mental and physical challenges. Where you should always expect the unexpected."
Rudy pulls out a small remote and presses a button. An explosion is heard off in the distance, causing the six teens to jump, all startled by the sudden explosion. "Wha-What was that?" Jack asked.
"I just blew up my car!" Rudy shouts. "You didn't expect that did you?"
Jack shakes his head. "No."
"That was stupid to blow up your own car." Kate commented and her friends nodded in agreement.
"Now go on in and choose your living space, and I'll be right back with your first challenge." Rudy continued, ignoring Kate's comment. Each of the teens took off running inside with their bags.
Kate laughs in disbelief upon seeing how different and cool the dojo looked. A rug was placed on the floor in the middle of the room, red couches and chairs were in the middle of the room along with a coffee table. Then there were six room separators with different colored curtains, three on the left side of the room and three on the right side.
"Oh! Check this place out! It's amazing." Jack grinned.
"Purple one is mine!" Kate shouted excitedly, running towards the room with the purple curtains on the right side of the room. Purple was her favorite color so she wanted to get the one with purple curtains.
"Oh, I call that spot!" Kim yelled, running to the one with the pink curtains on the left side of the room which happened to be across from the one Kate picked.
"I got this one!" Jack exclaimed, running to the one green curtains.
Eddie picked the one with orange curtains on the right side of the room as Jerry and Milton went to the one with white curtains in between the one Kate claimed and the one Eddie claimed. Kate set her backpack on the nightstand that was by the bed, rolling her eyes as she overheard the conversation between Milton and Jerry. Jerry said he claimed that one already and Milton being his easygoing self said that was fine and that he would just go with the other one. Jerry panicked, thinking Milton was making him thinks something was wrong with it. In the end Jerry went with the one with the red curtains on the left side and Milton went with the one with the white curtains.

After everyone changed into their gis, they all walked outside, surprised to see the courtyard looked completely different. it looked like a jungle and it had an obstacle course. Rudy stood off to the side with a smile on his face as everyone looked around in awe. "Welcome to the Dragon's Playground. By random draw, Kim, Eddie, and Milton, this challenge is for you." The three teens all glance at each other challenging. "It's a race. The first part consists of the Ball Pit of Despair."
Kate glances at the ball pit, eyes widening when she saw some ninjas pop up. "It might look like fun, but beware of hidden ninjas." Rudy continues. "Then your off to the Bonsai Bounce. Lastly, you have to get through the Path of the Tiger. Whoever hits the buzzer first wins the challenge."
Eddie steps forward, raising his hand. "Uh, I have a question. When you hit the Banzai Bounce, are you allowed to flip over-"
Rudy interrupts him by blowing an air horn. Where he got the air horn? Kate had no idea but she decided not to ask any questions. "Go!" Rudy shouted, causing the three teens to take off running to the ball pit, but Kim pushed the boys to the side which gained her a head start. The three of them jump into the ball bit, but Milton got to the end first, surprising everyone.
Milton got tangled up in the Bonsai Bounce, giving Kim the ability to get ahead of him. Eddie got stuck in the ball bit because a ninja had grabbed onto him. Kim got to the Path of the Tiger which was moving punching bags and a balance beam. Kim did good at the beginning and then was knocked off at the end, screaming as she fell. Milton was on the beam behind her, crawling on it to get to the other side. Kate had to admit that was kind of smart since it was more likely you didn't get hit with the punching bags that way.
Kate's eyes widen, shocked when Milton got to the buzzer first and pressed it. "Holy Christmas nuts!" Milton shouted in disbelief. He raises his arms up in victory. "I did it! I did it! I did it!" As the others walked over to meet up with him, he walked over to meet them half way. But then he grunted in pain, falling on the mat when a punching bag hit him in the head.
"Congratulations, Milton." Rudy comments as Milton stands up. "You won the challenge. Your prize is a gourmet lobster dinner."
Milton gapes at him. "Oh! I can't believe! I love lobster."
"Milton, before you sit down for your lobster feast, you have a choice." Rudy tells him. "If you eat the lobster, everyone else in the house eats gruel." Kate grimaces at the thought of eating gruel, but she perks up at what Rudy said next. "Or, you can eat gruel, while everyone else ate lobster."
Everyone looked at Milton hopefully as they all anxiously waited for his answer.
****
Kate stares at the gruel in the bowl on the fold up table in front of her with a disgusted expression on her face. Yeah, turns out Milton went with eating the gourmet lobster dinner himself. Although Kate couldn't blame him, she probably would've chose that too.
"So, how's the gruel?" Milton inquired.
Jerry picks up his bowl by holding the spoon that was stuck in the gruel. The gruel didn't budge as he flips over the bowl. "A little dry." He then set the bowl on the table in front of him.
"Kate, Jack," Kim speaks to the two teens sitting beside her. "First chance we get, Milton's gotta go."
"For sure." Kate nodded.
"I was thinking the same thing." Jack agreed.
"I think I'm done with this one." Milton threw a claw onto the coffee table, causing everyone else to eye it. Everyone, besides Kate, then launched for the claw and began fighting with each other about who would get it. Kate chuckled lightly, watching with slight amusement as she leaned back against the couch with crossed arms. Even though Kate was hungry, she had enough dignity to not embarrass herself like that on TV.

"Our second challenge is The Emperor's Bridge." Rudy announces. The courtyard looked different now. Instead of the obstacle course, there was a bridge over a mud pit. Jerry stood at the left end of the bridge while Jack was on the right end of the bridge. "Jerry and Jack, you're up." Rudy said and then glances at his cousin. "Kate, you'll go up against the winner." Kate nods and smiles in response. Rudy looks back at the boys. "The object is to try and knock your opponent off the bridge."
"Jerry, you'll be fighting with a pugil stick." Rudy tells him and a ninja hands Jerry a pugil stick. "And Jack, since you're a black belt," Jack had a smug look on his face as he outstretches his arm, expecting something better than the pugil stick, and he falters when he was handed a father. "You'll be fighting with a feather." Kate snickered along with the others.
"Seriously?" Jack asks in disbelief. "A feather?"
Rudy hits the gong, signaling the fight to start. The two boys get on the bridge, beginning to fight. Jack does his best to dodge each swing Jerry throws at him with the pugil stick. At one point when Jerry caught Jack's arm with the pugil stick, but Jack gained the upper hand by making Jerry sneeze because of the feather tickling his nose. As Jerry sneezed, Jack grabbed the pugil stick from him and flipped him off the bridge, landing into the mud pit with a splash. Kate and the others watched with a grimaced expression.
Jack smirks. "Gesundheit." Jerry muttered something in Spanish angrily as he crawled out of the mud pit.
"Great job, Jack!" Rudy complements. "And since you won that fight," He glances at his cousin. "Kate, that means you'll have to go up against Jack."
Kate nods and walks up the steps to the left side of the bridge. "And since you're also a black belt, you will be fighting with a feather as well." Rudy added and a ninja handed Kate a feather.
Kate groans. "Of course."
"I'm not gonna go easy on you just 'cause we're best friends." Jack warned and got into a fighting stance as he smirked at her.
Kate smirks, getting into a fighting stance. "I wasn't planning on going easy on you either."
Rudy hits the gong with the mallet, signaling the fight to start. Jack starts the fight by taking the first swing. The fight continues and the others were having trouble trying to decide who would win since it seemed like neither one were messing up or backing down. That was until Jack remembered Kate was ticklish and so he used that to his advantage. She did her best not to laugh and tried to get her arm out of his grasp since he had twisted it behind her back. But then she yelped when she was suddenly shoved into the mud pit.
"I hate being ticklish." Kate grumbled, crawling over to the edge of the mud pit. Jerry stood near the edge, offering a hand to help her out. Kate smiled thankfully at him, grabbing ahold of his hand and he helped pulled her out of the mud pit. Kate began to wipe the mud off her the best she could.
"Once again, great job, Jack! You won!" Rudy congratulates, walking onto the bridge. Jack exhales and smiles smugly, putting his hands on his hips. "And now you have a choice." Two ninjas bring over an abandoned porta potty and Kate's face scrunches up in disgust. "A traveling carnival abandoned this porta-pooper. Everyone else in the dojo will have to spend five minutes in what we call The Chamber of Horrors." Everyone gasps. "Or you can spare your friends by doing the five minutes yourself."
Kate had to admit she was a bit surprised Jack was thoughtful enough to spend the five minutes in The Chamber of Horrors. She honestly thought he would make everyone else do it like what Milton did, but she was relieved Jack didn't do that. She honestly thought it was sweet he sacrificed himself.
"Oh, sweet mercy! Let me out, let me out!" Jack cries out after he was put in the porta potty and the porta potty shakes as he tries to get out. "Oh, it's horrible." Suddenly the porta potty began to tip over. "Woah! Woah! Woah!" Everyone grimaces and winces as the porta potty fell. "Okay, that is not good." Jack said in a disgusted tone.

Next the courtyard was changed to look something different as everyone changed back into their regular clothes. They all sat on tools in front of a firepit. Sand was on the floor and torches were lit. Bobby sat off to the side next to a gong as Rudy walked around the gang.
"This is where our game takes a little..." Bobby hitting the gong interrupts Rudy's sentence. "Twist, that you couldn't possibly have seen..." Bobby hits the gong, eyes widening and he quickly holds the gong to make the noise stop after seeing the annoyed look Rudy gave him. "Coming."
"Now, we'll go-" Bobby hits the gong again. Rudy glares at him. "Would you please stop that?"
"I'm sorry." Bobby apologizes. He smiles sheepishly. "Love the gong."
Rudy looks at the friend group. "It's time for a vote to decide which of you will be going home in shame." Jack waved goodbye at Milton, who looked at him nervously.
"I've counted the votes." Rudy announces. He walks by Jerry and Eddie. "And the person voted out of the dojo is..." He pauses for dramatic effect, looking at the scroll he held. "Going home." Jerry and Eddie sigh in relief as Rudy walks to stand between the girls. "And that person is..." Kate and Kim exchange a nervous look. "One of you." Rudy stated after dramatically pausing and Kate and Kim looked relieved. Kate was starting to get annoyed with Rudy being so dramatic. She was getting anxious, she just wanted to know who was going home.
It seemed like she wasn't the only one who couldn't wait any longer to know who was going home. "Who is it?" Bobby anxiously asks. "Tell me! Tell me!"
Rudy stands between Jack and Milton. "It's..." He looks at Milton, causing the red-haired boy to look down with a frown. Then at the last second, he looks at Jack. "Jack."
Jack's eyes widen in disbelief. "What?" Kate's eyes widen and she glances at her friends with shock. Voting Jack off wasn't part of the plan. "W-Wha-After what I did for you people?" Jack stammers, staring at his friends with hurt and disbelief as he stands up. Pointing at the, he glares at his friends. "You stabbed me in the back!"
"In my defense," Kate chimes in. "I voted for you."
"Everyone but Kate stabbed my in the back!" Jack corrects himself. He sends a thankful smile to Kate. "Thanks, Kate." He glares at the others. "At least I know one of you is my true friend."
"Ooh, I did not see that coming." Bobby grinned, shaking his head while two ninjas then guided Jack away.
****
Everyone had a talking segment for this show after different parts of the actives. Kate's talking segment was now. She sat on a chair with a mad expression on her face. "I feel like the others planned something without letting me know. When Jack was there, we planned on taking Milton out. And now suddenly everyone is voting Jack off?" She scoffs, shaking her head. "I guess you don't really know who to trust."
She groans in annoyance. "This is why I don't like reality shows. I only did this one 'cause I wanted the water rider, but now I'm not even for sure if it's worth it because it seemed like this stupid show is starting to tear all of our friendships apart."
****
The next day Kate on a chair with her arms crossed, glaring at her friends. "I can't believe Jack's gone." Eddie admits. "It doesn't feel right. He's our friend."
"I'm really gonna miss him." Kim sighs. "I feel so bad." Kate stared at her suspiciously. She didn't believe the blonde at all. It was obvious she was faking being upset.
"I thought we were voting Milton off, not Jack." Kate grumbled, shooting Milton with an apologetic look when he looked at her with offense.
"We had to vote him off!" Kim said in a defensive tone. "Or otherwise he would've done the same to us."
"Kim, I've got to admit," Milton says, moving to sit besides Kim on the couch. "Voting Jack out was brilliant."
Kim smirks. "Well, we gotta work together. It's the only way anyone wins on these shows." Milton nodded in agreement.
"Hold up." Kate's eyes widened, realizing the two secretly teamed up and it seemed like Jerry was in on it too.
Eddie realized that as well. "What's going on? Did you guys form an alliance?"
"No, no, no, no, no," Jerry argues, standing up. "It wasn't like that, man, okay? We just met in secret and decided to do whatever it takes to win," Kate scoffs, glaring at Jerry with annoyance. Jerry's eyes widen in realization. "And now that I'm hearing it, yes, absolutely, we have an alliance." He sat back down while Kim and Milton looked at him in annoyance.
"Guys, we're supposed to be friends!" Kate sighs heavily. "Not form secret alliances behind others backs."
"That's not really fair, is it?" Eddie asked.
"Well, you're not going to have to worry about it for much longer because you're out next." Kim replied, causing Eddie to gasp.
"Can I be out next instead?" Kate raises her eyebrows. She frowns, crossing her arms. "'Cause I don't wanna be on this show if it's gonna keep ruining our friendships."
"Yeah, sure, why not. One less person to worry about." Kim grinned, shrugging her shoulders.
"What?" Jerry's eyes widen as he stands. He points at Kim. "You told me Milton was out next."
Milton gasps, standing up. "What? You told me Jerry was next!"
"What?" Jerry exclaimed in disbelief.
"See? This is what I'm saying!" Kate exclaims, standing up. "Our friendship is being ruined because of this stupid show."
"Everyone, calm down." Kim tries to calm everyone down as she stands up. Her friends glare at her and she chuckles nervously. "I mean, how much fun was this ball pit?"
"You know who you can trust in this game?" Milton asked.
"No one!" Everyone shouted and stormed off to their rooms, but they all went to different ones. After realizing they were in different rooms, they all mumbled about how they really needed to put name tags on their rooms and then went to their rooms.
****
"Welcome to our next challenge." Rudy announces. Everyone was in their gis again and this time in the courtyard was a green colored table with food trays on it and name tags in front of it. Everyone walks to where their name tag was at. "It's called the Bonsai Brunch. They say revenge is a dish best served cold." Kate looks at Rudy curiously, wondering what he meant by that. Then her eyes widen in realization and she gasps. Jack must be coming back for revenge. "That's why we brought in a very special chef, your old friend...Jack."
The ninja standing near Rudy takes off his mask, revealing Jack and he puts on a chef hat that was given to him. He smirks at his friends as they all gasp in shock. Kate's gasp of shock wasn't because she was surprised to see Jack since she already figured it out, her gasp of shock was because she was wondering why he looked so attractive in that black gi and chef hat. She grew confused and shook her head. Why was she suddenly thinking of her best friend that way?
Jack grins, walking in front of the table. "Hello, friends." He stands at the other side, facing his friends. "I put together this menu with you in mind. At least one of you must clear your plate or I'm back in the game."
"Martial arts requires focus and mental toughness." Rudy explains. "Those skills are about to be put to the test."
Jack stands by Kim, smiling at her. "Hello, Kim. Maybe you can make a meal out of," He picks up the silver casing, revealing mealworms in a bowl. "Mealworms."
Kim gags, stepping back with her hands up in defense. "I'm out."
Jack sets the silver casing to the side and walks over to Eddie. "Eddie!"
Eddie groans. "Oh, come on!"
Jack grins at him. "You wanna see what I have for you?" Eddie hums in disagreement, immediately shaking his head. Jack frowns. "What's the matter? Cat got your..." He picks up the silver casing, revealing tongues on the plate. "Tongue." Eddie looked at in disgust and then fainted.
Jack puts away the silver casing and stands in front of the table, directly in front of where Kate was. He smiles at her. "Hi, Kate."
Kate nervously smiles back at him. "Uh, hi?"
"I'm sure you'll really like what I got for you." Jack grinned.
"I'll stop you there." Kate points at him. She backs up, shaking her head and crosses her arms. "I'm gonna assume it's something as worse as the other meals you had for the others and just say I'm out."
"Great choice." Jack smirked. He had to admit he was relieved Kate already went out because he went easy on her since she defended him and voted Milton off instead of him and if she didn't already went out then Jack wouldn't be able to be back in the game.
Jack walks over to Milton. "And Milton, you know what goes great with lobster?" Smirking, he lifts the silver casing. "A Panamanian dung slug."
Milton's face scrunches up in disgust, but he picks up a slug. "Just pretend like it's a big French fry..." He grimaces. "With mucus sacks...Swimming in a nice, green slime sauce." He pinches his nose as he gulps down the dung slug, surprising his friends. "Okay. Going down, going down." He smiles, raising his arms in victory. "Yeah!" Then his eyes widen and he panics. "Turning around. Coming up. Coming up!" He then turned around and threw up.
"Jerry, you're our only hope to get Jack out of the game." Kim said to Jerry.
"Don't worry, I got this." Jerry smirks and takes a bit off of everyone's plate. "Let me warm up with a couple of appetizers."
"Wow." Kate commented in surprise.
"Jerry's gonna do this!" Milton smiled.
"Hit the road, Jack." Kim smirked.
Jack didn't look worried. "Not yet. Jerry has to clear his plate." He pulled up the silver casing and Jerry shrieked when he saw what was on the plate.
Kate stares at him in disbelief. "Jer, you freak out over a cracker?"
With shaky hands, Jerry picks up the cracker. "It's a cracker, you big baby!" Kim shouts in disbelief. "Man up!"
Jerry nods and he nervously takes a bite. "I can't!" He shouted and ran off, earning a grin from Jack.
Rudy stands by Jack with a smile. "Well, congratulations, Jack. No one could clean their plate so you are back in the game!"
Jack takes his chef hat off excitedly and cheers. "Yeah, back in the game," He grins, throwing his hat on the ground. "Fools!"
"Jerry," Kate glances over at Eddie as he walks over to where Jerry now was. She tilts her head to the side, looking at the boy on the floor with concern after seeing he was curled up in a ball, rocking back and forth with a scared look on his face. "Are you okay?" Eddie asked him.
"Put a robe on, Nana! I'm just a little boy!" Jerry cried out.
****
The friend group, including Jack, were now in their regular clothes back in the dojo. The tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. "Okay, look, it's obvious there's a lot of tension in the air." Eddie finally breaks the silence. "Why don't we just take our minds off of it and play a little game?"
"What kind of game?" Jerry questioned.
"Uh...It's called One-Word Story." Eddie explains, standing up. "So, we go around in a circle and make up a story." He smiles. "But each of us only gets to say one word." He claps. "I'll start. This..."
Kate went next. "Stupid."
Then Kim. "Game..."
And Jack. "Eats..."
Then Milton and Jerry were last. "Hairy..."
"Moose..."
"Okay!" Eddie quickly spoke, stopping anyone else from continuing.
"I have a game. It's called you five loose and I win a water rider on national television." Kim smirked.
"That's also a stupid game." Kate muttered.
"That's right," Jack's eyes widen in realization. "We're on television." He stands up, facing the hidden camera. He points at Kim. "Hey, everybody, Kim has a crush on the new boy Ashton Talbot!"
Kim's eyes widen in disbelief and she stands up, looking at the camera nervously. She shoves Jack to the side. "I do not!" Kate looked at her with surprise. She thought that Kim liked Jack and that Jack liked Kim, but maybe she thought wrong.
Jerry laughs. "Really?"
Kim looks at him with an amused smile. "What are you laughing at?" Putting her hands on her hips, she looks at the camera. "The first night here, Jerry cried for his mommy!"
Jerry's eyes widen and he gasps. He looks at Milton with a glare when the red-haired boy laughed. "What are you laughing at?" He runs over to Milton's room and then comes back with a stuffed animal. He shows it to the camera. "Milton can't go to sleep without his little bunny."
Standing up, Milton faces him with shock and gasps. He takes the stuffed bunny from Jerry. "How long have you known about Rondelle?"
"Guys," Kate exclaims, gaining everyone's attention. She stands up and frowns. "This is what I've been talking about. This stupid show is tearing our friendship apart! And all of this pointless arguing is so childish honestly."
"At least I'm not the one who still sleeps with a night light on because they're scared of the dark!" Jack exclaimed angrily.
"Jack!" Kate scolded, looking embarrassed but she still glared at him.
Jack grimaces, apologetically smiling at her. "Sorry, Rina. I didn't mean to say that. I just said that because it was a heat in the moment thing."
Before Kate could reply, Kim speaks up. "Oh, so you're sorry when you expose her secret but not when you expose ours?" Kim asked in disbelief and the arguing continued. Kate didn't even bother stopping the argument this time and she sighed, sharing a disappointed look with Eddie when he walked back to the room. She didn't even realize he had left until she noticed him walking back.
Someone hitting a gong gains everyone attention and stops the fight. Everyone looks at Rudy. He smiles goofily. "Wow, that is fun." He giggles and Kate smiles at him with amusement. "Okay," He said, looking more serious. "Time for the final challenge. When it's over, only one warrior will remain."
"Oh, it won't be over 'till the blonde's on the water rider." Kim commented.
"Right. But which one of us is the blonde?" Jerry inquired.
Kate glances at him with a deadpanned expression. "Kim is. She's the only blonde here, Jer."
****
"Welcome to the Hang Tough wall." Rudy speaks. Now out in the courtyard a sand pit was there and a wall was behind it. On the wall it said 'wasabi warrior' and there was a small ledge where the six students stood in their gis. "The last person to drop will be presented with the title of Wasabi Warrior by Bobby Wasabi himself." He pointed over at Bobby, who was in the middle of eating a sandwich.
Bobby hands the sandwich to a ninja beside him and sheepishly smiles. "You got that right, Rudy."
"So that's it? All we have to do is stand here?" Jerry chuckles. "This is gonna be a piece of cake. I was born standing up. No, literally, my mother had me on a bus and there was no empty seats."
"It seems too easy." Kate comments. "There has to be a catch."
"Kate's right." Rudy nods. "It's more than just standing." A peg appears from the wall above each student, causing them all to look up. "Grab ahold of your peg because you're about to hang tough."
Each of the six teens grabbed the peg above them, all equally shocked when the ledge they stood on disappeared. "Release the Wasabi Wind!" Rudy exclaimed. Then a big fan was aimed at them, causing all of them to sway.
"A little breeze doesn't bother me." Kim speaks. "I'm not letting go until my butt hits that water rider."
"Guys, I don't know if I can keep hanging on any longer." Jack admits and Kate rolls her eyes. It was so obvious he was faking. "My arms...Are getting...So-"
"Forget it, Jack!" Kate yelled along with the others, they were all annoyed with him. It was obvious that Jack was pretending to be tired.
"It's time for the Flaming Balls of Fury!" Rudy announced.
Kate looks at her cousin nervously. "I don't like the sound of that."
Everyone shrieked and tried to dodge the balls that were shot out of a cannon. "Is this even legal?" Eddie called out.
"I'm gonna be very surprised and mad if it is legal." Kate muttered angrily.
"Is that all you got? You call yourselves ninjas?" Jack challenges. He winces when a ball hit his crotch. "Nice shot." He commented in a weak tone.
"You guys must be getting pretty hungry up there." Rudy notices. "We've blended together the delicious leftovers from our eating challenge." He explained how everything that was in the eating challenge was added together.
Jerry interrupts him, staring at him with panic. "The saltines?"
Rudy nods, dramatically replying with, "Yes, Jerry, the saltines!" Jerry screamed in fear.
Kate glances above her as ninjas put a bucket of all the leftovers above each of them. She grimaces, closing her eyes. "Prepare yourselves for...The Shower of Shame!" Bobby spoke.
Everyone grimaced and groaned in disgust as the buckets were poured on them by the ninjas. "That was disgusting!" Kim commented.
"Yeah, well, why don't you stop whining and drop already?" Jack questioned.
"Oh, let's just let Jack win something again." Milton rolls his eyes. "We never get tired of seeing that."
"Stop feeling sorry for yourself because you're a little weasel." Kim remarked.
"You're a backstabbing liar." Jerry told her.
"Yeah!" Jack agreed. Kate rolled her eyes, sighing heavily when her friends started arguing.
"Stop it!" Eddie shouts, causing everyone to grow quiet. "I tried to warn you about this. Kate tried to warn you guys too, but no one listened. We're supposed to be friends."
"Eddie and Kate are right. Look at us," Jack scoffs. "Hanging on poles, covered in slop and yelling at each other."
"It's like my mom's book club." Kate glances at Jerry with surprise. Jerry nods. "Them ladies get real, yo."
"How do we end this?" Kim inquired.
"To save our friendship, we all drop down together." Eddie answered.
"He's right." Jack nods. "We've got to show that our loyalty to each other is stronger than just some dumb prize." His friends nod in agreement. "You guys ready?"
"Yeah." Jerry replied.
Jack starts the count down, eventually joined by his friends. "One, two, three! Go!" They all let go of the peg at the same time, grunting when they landed on the sand. They climbed out of the sandbox and that was when Jack realized something.
"Wait a minute. Where's Eddie?"
"What?" Kate looks around, her eyes widening and she gasps in disbelief upon seeing Eddie still hanging on. "Eddie!"
Eddie grins down at his friends. "What's up, suckers? Yeah!" He then drops to the ground. "Woah!" His friends looked at him with a mad expression.
"Eddie?" Kim glared at him.
"This is unbelievable!" Milton shook his head as Eddie climbed out of the sandbox.
"He was working us the whole time." Jerry realized.
"I have to admit," Kate crosses her arms, smiling slightly at Eddie. "That's impressive."
"We have our Wasabi Warrior!" Rudy exclaimed as balloons and confetti fell down on the six students.
"Well played, Eddie." Bobby smiles and claps. "Well played."
"No hard feelings, right, guys?" Eddie smiles at his friends. "Just playing the game."
Jack walks over to Eddie, looking at him with a harsh glare. "Eddie," Eddie looks at him nervously. "You are a lying, conniving snake." Jack tells him. "Seriously, dude, that...Was...Awesome!" He grinned, pulling Eddie in for a hug.
Everyone else commented in agreement all either patting Eddie on the back or would pull him in for a hug.
