CHAPTER SIXTEEN, my left foot

Kate was in line getting lunch with Jerry when they both heard Eddie talking to Grace, one of the cheerleaders and the girl he had a crush on. "Hey, Grace." Eddie smiles. "Meatloaf and peas...Nice."

"This is hard to watch." Kate grimaced and Jerry nodded in agreement.

"You know what I do? Sometimes I take my corn nibblets and...Will you go out with me?" Eddie asked in a pleading tone.

Grace shakes her head, looking at him weirdly. "No."

"Well, now you don't get to find out what I do with my corn nibblets." Eddie remarked. Grace rolled her eyes and walked over to the table with the cheerleaders.

Kate and Jerry walk over to Eddie after getting their lunch. "Dude, you gotta let it go with Grace, man." Jerry tells him. "You're just not her type."

Eddie furrows his eyebrows. "What's her type?"

"You know, guys that do things big." Jerry replies. "The type of guy that stands out in a crowd."

"Hello? Have you seen my new scarf?" Eddie asks in disbelief. He grins. "It looks like a snake."

"Not that kind of thing." Kate sympathetically smiles as she and the boys get to the table where the rest of their friends are at, Ashton included. Since Ashton had started hanging out with Kim that also meant he started hanging out with the rest of the gang more. They all didn't mind him hanging out with them, they thought he was great. "Jer meant like doing some kind of big gesture." She and the boys sat down at the table, Kate sitting between Eddie and Ashton.

Milton furrows his eyebrows. "What's that smell?"

"It smells like actual food." Kim noticed.

"Actual food in the cafeteria?" Kate laughs in disbelief. "Kim, please. That's like a dream come true."

"Rina's right." Jack chimes in. "This is the school cafeteria. It is no place for actual food." He picked up his plate to proof his point and Kate's point, flipping the plate over and the food on it didn't budge at all.

"How does that even stay on there?" Ashton's eyes widen. He gasps. "Maybe they glue the food on the plate."

Milton looks across the cafeteria in awe. "It's them."

Everyone looked in that direction, looking in awe at seeing real food at the table the football team sat at. The football team were so special they had a blue VIP ribbon blocking off their section of the cafeteria and had an actual chef handing out real food to them. Kate honestly dreamed of being on the football team only because of the food she would get at lunch.

"Here we go. The start of football season." Milton said.

"Look at them with their prime rib." Jerry rolls his eyes. "They think they're so much better than us."

"They are better than us." Kate sighed.

"That's hurtful," Ashton frowns. "But it is true."

"Ooh," Jerry smiles, pointing at one of the football players. "I'm going to go ask that guy if I can eat his fat."

Kim's eyes widen, grabbing Jerry's arm to pull him back down when he stood. "Sit down!"

"Don't you have any dignity, Jerry?" Kate raised her eyebrows.

"Nope." Jerry shakes her head. "Wait, what does dignity mean?"

"It means..." Ashton's voice trails off when he realized he doesn't know what it means. He glances at Kate for help. "Kate?"

Kate chuckles lightly, rolling her eyes. "It means someone who's worthy of honor or respect."

"Oh." Jerry's eyes widen in realization. He shakes his head. "Then no, I don't have that."

"You know, their quarterback just moved away." Eddie speaks up. "And they're holding tryouts to find a replacement."

Everyone went back to eating their food, showing no interest. "Nice, I guess." Kim shrugged.

"Wait a minute!" Milton exclaims, causing the friend group to look at him with confusion. "I think we all know there's someone sitting right at this table that could replace him."

Jerry and Eddie act all cocky thinking that Milton was talking about them. "If I have to. I mean, come on." Eddie grinned, pointing at his right arm he was flexing.

"Well, I guess I could. I got muscles." Jerry smirked.

Milton stares at them with disbelief. "I was talking about Jack, ya toads."

Jack chuckles. "I would love to, but between school and karate and..." He smiles. "I just got a turtle. It's a whole thing. The walking it alone takes forever."

"But at least the turtle is really cute." Kate smiled. She had helped Jack pick out what turtle he should get so she had seen the turtle before and it was super cute.

Jack nods in agreement. "Yeah, true."

"Jack, you're the most athletic person we know." Milton comments. "The school needs a quarterback."

"And we need meat, man." Jerry added.

Jack looks at him slightly offended. "Dude, what part of 'got a turtle' don't you understand?"

"I-I tell you what, I'll even go with you to the tryout for moral support." Milton smiled.

"I'll go too." Kate added, smiling at Jack, who smiled back at her.

Jack glances at Milton, scoffing as he shakes his head. "It doesn't just work like that, Milton. The don't let any kid tryout for the football team."

When the football coach walked by, Milton calls out to him. "Coach Marmar, Jack would like to tryout-"

Coach Marmar interrupts him, smiling as he points at Jack. "Oh, great, Jack. We'll see you tomorrow at three thirty then."

"Well," Kate shares a surprised look with Ashton. "I guess they do let any kid tryout for the football team."

Jack's eyes widen, glancing at his friends with surprise. "What just happened/?"

Ashton smiles. "You're trying out for the football team, buddy."

"I'd support you and the team by joining the pep squad again," Kim chimes in, looking annoyed. "But, um, as you know, Grace kicked me off for no reason."

"Uh, you drop kicked the mascot." Milton reminded her, causing Ashton to laugh in disbelief and stare at Kim with wide eyes.

"You what?"

"He was saying inappropriate things to me through his blowhole." Kim defends herself. "I belong on that pep squad, front and center." She smiles, resting her chin on her hand after setting her elbow on the table. "And I'll say it, I like being looked at."

Jerry rolls his eyes. "Kim, you had your shot. Okay?" He chuckles. "Leave the pep to the professionals."

Kim furrows her eyebrows, pointing at him. "You have pep?"

"Oh, I have pep, sister." Jerry smirks, standing up. He looks at the drum line. "Yo, drum line, give me a beat." After the drum line started playing a beat, he dances towards the open area of the cafeteria. "S-E-A-F-O-R-D."

Everyone stands up, now all smiling and excited, repeating what he sang. "S-E-A-F-O-R-D."

"Greatest school in history." Two male cheerleaders picked Jerry up, putting him on their shoulders.

"Greatest school in history." Everyone repeated, following Jerry towards the door.

"Show your spirit, let's march the hall." Jerry sang.

"Show our spirit, let's march the hall."  Jerry's eyes widen when he saw how close he was to the wall.

"Woah, woah, woah, I'm gonna hit the wall." He begins to panic. "I'm gonna hit the wall!" He fell backwards, but everyone continued to walk out of the cafeteria, leaving Jerry on the floor.

"Let's get going, Jack. Hustle it up." Milton now wore Seaford themed clothes along with a whistle. He looked exactly like the football coach. He and Kate stood in the dojo, waiting for Jack to change.

Jack walks into the room wearing football gear, looking annoyed. "Milton, I'm just going down for a tryout. Do I really have to wear this?"

Kate winces when Milton suddenly blew the whistle. Milton throws a yellow flag. "Five yards for a bad attitude, fella." Jack looked at him weirdly and shared a look with Kate.

Rudy rushes out to the room, looking panicked. "Sweet Moses, is it Halloween already?" He shakes his head, beginning to walk to his office. "I gotta put out the raisins."

"Wait, Rudy." Kate chuckles, grabbing his arm to pull him back. "It's not Halloween." She let go of his arm as he looked at her with confusion.

"Yeah," Milton nods. "Jack's trying out for the football team."

Rudy smiles. "Oh, I played a little pigskin. You're looking at the man responsible for the tackle hard round the world."

Kate quickly begins to leave along with the boys. "Okay, see you later." Jack waved.

"Gotta go." Milton added.

"We don't wanna hear about it." Kate bluntly said.

"September 17th." Rudy quickly spoke, causing the three teens to stop, their shoulders dropping in defeat.

"So close." Kate muttered, longingly looking at the door. Jack chuckled lightly, smiling at her with amusement.

"City championship. Seaford up by six, ten seconds on the clock." Rudy explains. "Suddenly created high's legendary fullback Bronco Wiznewski burst through the whole. As he raced for our end zone, I felt the weight of a city's dreams on my shoulders. I hit him so hard, he spit out his mouthpiece, his teeth and his pride."

Jack furrows his eyebrows. "So wait, you won the championship?"

"No," Rudy had a sheepish look on his face. "We forfeited. Apparently there's some rule you have to be on the team to make a tackle." He scoffs. "That's dumb."

Kate nods in realization, crossing her arms. "I knew you weren't on the football team." Rudy shot her a small glare and she sheepishly smiled at him.

Rudy smiles at Jack. "Jack, I'm so proud you're going out for football. I-I want you to have something special." He picked out something that was being held by his belt and he hands it to Jack.

Jack unwraps it, revealing it was a mouthpiece. "What is this?"

"Bronco's mouthpiece." Rudy replies, causing Kate's face scrunch up with disgust. "I'd give it a quick boil." He suggested before he walked away.

Jack grimaces, immediately dropping the mouthpiece and then wipes his hand on his jersey. "Milton, I gotta let you in on something. I can't throw a football." He admitted. Kate already knew this which was why he was directly talking to MIlton.

Milton raises his eyebrows. "Can't or won't?"

"Can't."

Milton flips the hat he wore to the side. "Can't or don't?"

"Can't."

"Can't or shan't?"

"I can't throw a football!" Jack exclaimed out of frustration.

"Come on, Jack. I'm sure it's not that bad." Milton tried to reassure him.

Kate grimaces. "Oh, trust me. It's bad."

****

The trio were now on the football field and Jack was showing Milton how he couldn't throw a football. Kate grimaced as he threw a football, the football rolling off his shoulder and landing in front of him. Milton's eye widened and he glanced at Kate.

"Wow, you're right." Kate nodded and shrugged.

Milton glances at Jack. "When you say you can't throw a football, you really can't!" Jack rolled his eyes and Kate sympathetically smiled at him.

Ashton decided on trying out to be a cheerleader along with Kim and Jerry so now he was currently at cheer tryouts. He thought it seemed like fun and he was strong and flexible so he figured why not try it.

"Alright, people, it's open tryouts for the pep squad which means we have to see..." Grace looks at Kim with disgust. "Everyone. Oh, it's our old friend Kim Crawford." She glances at the girls by her. "Hide the mascot."

"Hey," Ashton glares at Grace, stepping forward. "That's my friend you're talking about! Just 'cause she drop kicked the mascot one time doesn't mean it'll happen again." Kim looked at him with surprise, her lips forming into a soft smile. She was touched by him defending her, she didn't think he would but it meant a lot to her that he did.

Grace smiles dreamingly at him, looking surprised to see him at tryouts. "Ashton! I didn't know you're trying out for cheer."

"Yeah, well," Ashton shrugs, smiling slightly. "I thought it'd be fun."

"Alright," Grace stands, walking over to Jerry as she held a clipboard. "Jerry, you're up next. What are you going to do?"

"I'm goig to do two handsprings, hit the mini tramp and come down with a perfect landing." Jerry smirks. "In other words, it's gonna be sweet and awesome. Or as I like to call it: 'swasome'." He then did two handsprings, then jumped on the mini tramp and landed perfectly on the mat, impressing everyone. However, when he stood, he raised his arms in victory showing his hairy armpits.

"Whoo!"

Grace and the other cheerleaders looked at him with disgust. "Not gonna happen, Jerry. And about your pits...Get help." Jerry's eyes widened, lowering his arms.

Grace turns to face Ashton with a dreamy smile. "Okay, Ashton, you're up next."

Jack throws a football at a tire, this time almost hitting the outside of the tire. He smiles excitedly. "Oh, guys, I'm totally getting the hang of this. I hit the tire!"

Kate and Milton smile at him. "That was great."  Milton comments, picking up the football off the ground. "But with a small adjustment you can make it through the tire."

Jack furrows his eyebrows. "Really?"

"It's simple physics." Milton nods. He holds out the ball. "The ball is a spheroid, so if you release it at forty degree angle while pronating your hand, you'll eradicate wind resistance." He smiled, handing the ball to Jack.

Kate  and Jack stares at him with confusion. Jack glances at Kate. "Did you understand any of that?"

"Nope." Kate shakes her head. "I was hoping you did."

Jack then threw the ball at a forty degree angle, this time the ball went through the tire. "Yes!" Kate cheers, jumping up and down out of excitement. "You actually did it!"

"You got it through the tire!" Milton smiled widely.

Jack laughs. "I'm a natural pronator!" He and Milton chest bump and Milton grunted and stumbled backwards, starting to cough. Jack then smiled widely at Kate and high fived her. "Alright, Jack," Coach Marmar walks over to him. "Let me see you hit Murphy in the end zone."

"Oh, Murphy?" Milton asks in disbelief. "Come on, coach. He's never gonna catch it. Look at him down there." He holds his arms up like a T-rex would. "He's got those tiny, little T-rex hands."

"Milton! I got it." Jack reassured him.

Kate grins whenever Murphy caught the ball after Jack threw it to him. "Jack, that was a perfect throw." Milton comments excitedly. "He caught it." He looks at Murphy with a smile. "Great catch, Murphy." His friends looks at him weirdly when he roared like a T-rex would. He glances at Jack with a smile. "Jack, you did it. He's gotta go with you."

"Nah, I'm going with Mike Reynolds." Coach Marmar spoke.

"What?" Milton inquires in disbelief as Kate glances at coach with disbelief. "But he threw the ball perfectly to that little-fingered freak!" Milton exclaimed.

"Yeah, sorry." Coach Marmar apologized.

Milton frowns. "That is so unfair!"

"Well, at least you tried, Jack." Kate smiles at Jack, patting his shoulder. "That's all that matters."

"Thanks, Rina." Jack smiled at her. He and Kate glanced at Milton with surprise when the red-haired boy yelled angrily, running over to a football and kicked it. They watched with wide eyes as it went through the touchdown goal.

"Woah!" Coach Marmar said with surprise, walking over to Milton. "You just kicked a fifty-yard field goal." He points at Milton as Kate and Jack walk over to stand by Milton. "What's your name, nerd?"

"Milton Krupnick." Milton responded.

"Krupick, you're our new kicker." Coach Marmar tells him. "You're starting Friday's game."

Kate's eyes widen and she smiles at Milton. "Milton, you're on the team!"

"Do you know what this means?" Jack asked excitedly.

"Yeah, I know exactly what this means." Milton replies, looking like he was in shock. He jumps up and down out of excitement. "I'm a jock!"

"Come with me." Coach Marmar grabbed his arm, dragging him towards the locker room.

"Ow, take it easy." Milton winces. "Ow, ow!"

****

Four days later and Milton became the star of the school. Posters of him were hung up all over the place and he and his friends got special treatment. At lunch, Jack was filling Eddie in on what he missed out since Eddie had left to go to the bathroom towards the end of the game.

"Dude, you missed the best part of the game." Jack smiles. "Milton drifted a forty-five yarder right into the wind."

"Why do the good things always happen when I'm in the port-a-pooper?" Eddie frowned.

"Yeah, we're the Krupnick party." Jerry tells the boy guarding the VIP section. "He's meeting us here."

"We're with The Foot, hon." Kim sassily said when the boy glanced down at the clipboard to make sure.

The boy nods, smiling as he pulls back the blue ribbon to let the group in. Everyone looks at the fancy set up in awe while they sit down at the table. "I can't believe this is actually happening." Kate smiled widely, sitting between Jack and Ashton.

"Hey, can you smell that? That's the smell of fancy." Jack grinned.

Eddie glances up with an excited smile. "I made it, grandma! I made it!"

"Thanks to Milton, we're in for a whole new life at school." Kim commented, wrapping her arms around the plate and cup with an awestruck expression.

"You are not kidding." Jack speaks. "Mr. Bauer gave me detention for riding my skateboard. But when I dropped Milton's name, poof, it went away."

"I forgot to turn in a book to the library and was going to have to pay a late fee, but after telling the librarian I was friends with Milton she said I didn't have to pay and even gave me a pardon from having to pay late fees ever again." Kate grinned. She knows using her friendship with Milton as an advantage is wrong, but she couldn't help herself. She didn't have any cash on her and she didn't want to get into anymore trouble.

"Oh, that's nothing." Kim smirks. "Guess who made the pep squad?"

Eddie furrows his eyebrows. "I thought Grace wasn't gonna let you in."

"Yeah, at first." Ashton nodded.

"But Milton made a phone call and three spots magically opened up." Kim smiles widely. She glances at Jerry as she grimaces. "All this one has to do is shave his pit poodles."

Ashton glances at Jerry with a pleading expression. "Come on, man. It's not that hard."

Jerry pouts. "I'm not doing it."

Kim glares at him. "Yes, you are."

"Told you I'm not doing it." Jerry argued.

Ashton grimaced as Kim and Jerry started arguing, but he raised his eyebrows when the fight ended after Kim punched Jerry's arm. "Ow!" Jerry winces, in pain while holding his arm. He whimpers. "Fine."

"Alright, everybody, I have used game socks." Milton announced, throwing his socks at the crowd following him into the cafeteria. The crowd were chanting 'fight' as they all walked into the cafeteria and some of them reached to grab the socks when Milton threw them.

The crowd separates while Milton walks over to the table with his friends. He takes his helmet off, revealing he was drenched in sweat. He takes the water bottle he got from the waiter, pouring the water over his head. He drank some water and then spit it out in a nearby bucket.

"Hey, Milton. Coming from practice?" Jack inquired.

"No," Milton replies, sitting down. "History. The Russian revolution really takes a lot out of me."

Kim looks at him with disbelief. "Are you wearing one of my Uggs?"

Milton grins, lifting his foot to show his friends. "I sure am. When you have a loaded gun, you have to keep it in a holster, honey." Kim grimaces in response and Milton puts his foot down as a chef sets a bowl of shrimp in front of Milton. "Ooh, shrimp cocktail, my favorite." Milton grinned.

"Oh, hey, Milton. I came up with a really cool way to impress Grace." Eddie speaks up. "All I need is to be the scoreboard operator."

"I got you." Milton nods. He glances at Coach Marmar, who was walking by. The man stops walking, turning to face Milton. "Can my friend Eddie be our scoreboard operator?"

"What, you mean this nerd?" Coach Marmar asks, pointing at Eddie. Eddie rolls his eyes. Coach Marmar nods. "You got it, Foot." Eddie grinned and did a small dance in his seat.

Kate glances at Milton with a small smile. "You think you're gonna make it to karate practice today?"

Milton takes out his phone to check his schedule. "I had study group at 3:00. Had to push that back due to an interview with the school paper." He grimaces. "Sorry, not gonna happen."

"It's okay." Kate reassures him. "I'll let Rudy know you're busy."

"Thanks, Kate." Milton smiled. He picked up a piece of shrimp, but before he could eat it, Coach Marmar called out to him.

"Hey, Milton! Team pictures. Gotta go."

Milton looks disappointed, setting the shrimp down as he stands. He apologetically smiles at his friends. "See you guys." He then grabbed his helmet and followed the coach and team out the hallway. His friends all smiled and waved goodbye. Kate had to admit she felt bad for Milton. It seemed like he barely got time to do anything now that he's on the football team.

"Oh, ho, ho. Just a little off the end there." Jerry said to the chef when he started hutting the meat on the plate on the middle of the table. "Yeah." He smirks. "Perfect." His friends looked at him with shock when he took the rest of the meat.

****

Ashton, Kim, and Jerry made it on the pep squad, thanks to Jerry actually shaving his pits. Well, he was held down as Kim used waxed to shave them, but she didn't even make a dent in it.

It was now time for the next football game. Kate wore a Seaford hoodie to support the football team, sitting beside Jack and Rudy at the stands. Her dad even decided on going to the football game to support the school. He usually didn't go to the school's football games, but after hearing Kate's friend was on the team he decided to go to support her friend.

Jack glances at Rudy with amusement. "Rudy, you really went for it."

Kate laughs. "Yeah,  that sure is...Something." She gestured to the yellow and blue paint on him along with the whale hat. He also had yellow and blue face paint and wore a t-shirt he made that said Krupnick 'Krazies'.

"Absolutely." Rudy grins. "Check out what's gonna happen every time we score." He lifts the fins of the whale hat and confetti shot out of the whale's blowhole. "That was my blowhole!"

"Okay, I gotta admit." Tanner speaks up, smiling at his nephew. "That was kinda cool!"

"Yeah, it was!" Rudy smiled widely.

"Rudy, that has gotta be the most ridiculous outfit I've ever seen in..." Jack's voice trailed off, his eyes widening as saw Phil walk up to them wearing a Crayfish costume.

Kate's eyes widen with surprise. "Jackie, I think you spoke too soon."

"Yep." Jack agreed.

"Crayfish coming through!" Phil announces, passing by people in the stands, ignoring the protest of people in the stands. "Rolling in hot!"

"Look who washed in in low tide." Rudy remarked.

"Rudy, they ran out of tickets. Please, can I sit next to you?" Phil questions. "You won't hear a pippich out of me."

"This is whale country, Phil." Tanner said with a disgusted expression on his face. He gestures for Phil to leave. "Get out of here." He looks at Rudy with surprise when he let Phil sit beside him. "Rudy, what are you doing?"

"I'm being nice." Rudy shrugged.

"You don't be nice to the enemy!" Tanner dramatically spoke.

Kate chuckles, putting her hand on her dad's arm. "Dad, calm down."  Tanner huffed in annoyance, crossing his arms and faced the field.

"Milton Krupnick lines up for a forty-two yarder," The announcer speaks. "His third field goal of the game."

"Okay," Phil stands up. "I'm going to try to distract him so he misses it!"

Tanner glances at his nephew with a glare, pointing at Phil. "This is why we don't let the enemy sit with us."

"Hey!" Phil shouted, waving his arms. Whenever he started squealing loudly, the others looked at him weirdly.

"Here's the snap..." The announcer said. Everyone looks at the field, watching in anticipation. "And the kick is good!"

Kate stands up along with her dad, Jack, and Rudy, cheering loudly for Milton along with the other people in the stand. Well, besides Phil. "No, I wanted him to make it. That's great." Phil frowned, sitting down the same time the others do.

The cheerleaders run out to the field. "Okay, its show time." Kim smiles at Jerry and Ashton. "I'm going up."

"Wait, what?" Jerry looks at her with panic. "What are you talking...No, no, no, wait, wait." As Jerry helped Kim up on his shoulders, still panicking, Ashton stood behind them along with another male cheerleader to be there to catch Kim if she falls. Jerry squealed in pain, holding onto Kim's ankles while she stood on his shoulders. His armpits were still in pain from getting waxed.

"Give me an 'S'!" Kim shouted.

"S!" The crowd repeated.

"Give me an 'E'!"

"E!"

"Give me a...help!" Kim worriedly yelled when she and Jerry started falling. Ashton had stepped forward in an attempt to catch Kim, but it was too late. He grimaced along with everyone else as Kim's head got stuck in a tuba.

"That's a riot!" Rudy laughs. "That girl just took a header into a sousaphone."

"When I get this thing off my head, you're dead, Jerry!" Kim exclaimed angrily.

Ashton quickly follows them. "Kim, it wasn't his fault!"

"Wait," Kate's eyes widen in realization and then she grows worried. "I think that was Kim." She had trouble telling since Kim was facing the crowd across the field. She watched with a grimaced expression as Kim ran after a nervous Jerry.

"It's even funnier now 'cause I know her." Rudy grinned, earning an eye roll from Jack and Kate.

"Attention both sides, would you please direct your eyes to the scoreboard." The announcer said, gaining everyone's attention. "Some kid named Eddie has given himself a massive wedgie." Kate grimaced, feeling bad for Eddie as the crowd laughed.

"Hey," Tanner furrows his eyebrows, glancing at his daughter. "Isn't that your friend Eddie?"

"Yep." Kate sighed.

Meanwhile, Grace thought the gesture was sweet since it seemed like Eddie almost killed himself for her. Grace smiles at him. "Yes, Eddie! I'll go out with you!"  Eddie smiled widely and waved at her and then groaned in pain.

"The Whales take a time out." The announcer voices. "A fifty-two field goal will win it for 'em."

Jack nudges Kate to get her attention, gesturing with a nod of his head to the field when she locked eye with him. She nodded, smiling slightly and the two of them got up and ran to the field to go talk with Milton. "Longest in Seaford history, and it looks like they're going to bring in 'The Foot'." The announcer added.

"Hey, Milton, check it out. We got free popcorn just for knowing you!" Jack showed the bag of popcorn he had got from someone on the way to the field.

Kate also held a bag of popcorn and was currently eating hers. She wasn't going to let a good bag of popcorn go to waste. "Milton, you're doing a really good job." She smiles softly at her friend. "I hope you know we're proud of you."

Milton smiles widely. "Thanks, Kate. That means a lot."

"Hey," Jack said, furrowing his eyebrows when he noticed the sudden sad look on Milton's face when he looked at the ground. "Are you okay?"

"Not really." Milton admitted, causing Kate to look at him with concern.

"What's the matter?" Jack asked.

"Every time I look at the football, I think of all the things I'd rather be doing." Milton responded.

"If there are other things you'd rather be doing then why be on the team?" Kate inquired.

"Look around you, Kate." Milton answers with a smile. "I'm doing it for you guys."

Jack looks at him with confusion. "What?"

"You said it yourself. Me getting on the football team, was the best thing that ever happened to you guys. I-I mean, because of me, Kim and Jerry made the pep squad, Eddie got a date with Grace." Milton points at Rudy in the stands. "And when's the last time you saw Rudy look so happy?"

The three teens glanced at Rudy, seeing he pushed the fins of the whale hat again which caused confetti to shot out and everyone around him smiled. He grins. "Out me blowhole!"

"Man, I didn't realize that we were all getting something out of it except for you." Jack said, looking guilty.  "None of us would want you to be unhappy." Kate nodded in agreement.

"So you guys would be okay if 'The Foot' walked away?" Milton nervously asked.

"Of course." Kate reassures him. "We don't want you to be miserable."

"Yeah, dude, as long as your happy." Jack smiled.

"That's all that matters." Kate added.

Milton smiles at them. "Thanks, guys."

Coach Marmar walks over to them, patting Milton's shoulder. He grins. "Go get 'em, Krupnick." Everyone chanted 'foot' as Milton ran onto the field. Jack and Kate stayed on the field, smiling at their friends when they joined them. Kim finally had got the sousaphone off her head with Ashton's help, she was relieved he got it off because she was worried she would never get it off.

"If he makes this, Milton Krupnick will be a Seaford high legend." The announcer voiced.

Milton glanced at his friends, thinking over what Jack and Kate said to him. "Here's the snap..." Milton ran forward, kicking the ball. Everyone watched nervously as the ball flew through the air. Then the crowd erupted into cheers when it went through the goal.

Milton runs over to his friends, who immediately high five him and congratulate him. "Milton, you did it." A football player compliments the red-haired boy. He smiles. "We won the game. Party at my house."

"Yeah, you know...You guys go ahead, get it started without me." Milton suggests. "I'll catch you later." The boy smiled and nodded before walking away with the rest of the team.

Jack grins at Milton. "Dude, Milton, that was awesome! You did it. And even though you're retiring from the team, you should go celebrate the victory with your guys."

"I'm going to." Milton smiles at his friends. "With you guys." His friends smiled at him.

"Whoo! Yeah!" Jerry cheered. Ashton gestured for another male cheerleader to help him and the two of them picked Milton up, putting him on their shoulders which surprised Milton.

The friend group then started singing the song Jerry came up with as they all walk away. "S-E-A-F-O-R-D. Greatest school in history."

Jerry stops walking when a girl walked by. "Yo, ho, ho, Dana, I didn't know you were here." Ashton and the other male cheerleader suddenly lost grip of Milton, both of them grimacing when Milton fell backwards, landing in front of Jerry. "Sorry, Milton, that was my bad. Bro, did you know Dana was here?" He grins. "Whoo. She was looking good." He looks in the direction Dana was at and calls out to her. "Yo, Dana, you don't mind my pits, right?"

A/N ashton is now friends with the group, yay ! i love him already, i honestly based his personality off of adam davenport from lab rats :) it was so hard figuring how to add kate's dad into an episode, but i thought this episode was a good way to do that. also for his personality just think of shawn spencer from psych !!
