CHAPTER FIVE, dojo day afternoon

Kate was currently at the dojo with the rest of her friends, watching Jack getting ready to break a board that was on top of two concrete blocks. She wasn't for sure why this was important since they all have seen him do this countless of times.

"Alright, guys." Jack smirks, getting in his stance. "Stand back." Everyone obeyed and Jack karate chopped the board in half.

Jerry rolls his eyes. "What's the big deal, Jack? You've done that a thousand times."

Jack grins. "Wait for it." He blew on the concrete blocks, and they fall to the ground in pieces.

Everyone watches with an impressed expression and speaks the same thing at the same time. "Woah!"

"Man, I'd give you a million bucks if you could do that to my cello." Eddie tells Jack. He points at himself. "Playas don't play the cello."

"Well, you're not a playa." Milton reminded him.

"I will be when I get rid of that dang cello." Eddie comments. "I'm gonna get a smoothie."

Eddie leaves the dojo and Kate turns her attention to her cousin's office when she heard a clanking noise. Then she heard Rudy shouting 'no' and water slushing around. She exchanged a confused look with the others and the five of them cautiously walked towards Rudy's office. Now Kate and her friends stood outside of the office.

"Don't you die on me, not now!" Rudy exclaims and by the tone of his voice it was clear he was upset. "It's not your time!"

"What's going on in there?" Milton wondered out loud.

"Part of me doesn't want to know." Kate admitted.

"Rudy's toilet clogged again." Jack answered Milton.

Kate nods with a disgusted look on her face. "Yeah, that's why I didn't want to know."

The sound of flushing is heard before the door opens revealing Rudy and he was wearing cleaning gear. He pants loudly, walking out of his office. "Poor Myrtle. I almost lost her." He stops walking, turning to face the teens. "Twice I had to plunged her back to life."

Jerry points at him. "How do you know if a toilet's a boy or a girl?"

"You take the top off the tank, you reach your arm in it, and you feel around-" Disgusted expressions formed on the teens faces and Kate was thankful Milton interrupted Rudy because she doesn't know how much she could stand hearing anymore of this.

"Stop!" Milton shouts, looking at Rudy with wide eyes. "I think I'd rather hear about this in an awkward conversation with my father."

"Rudy focus. The new owner of the mall's gonna be here any minute." Kim reminded Rudy.

"Hey," Eddie exclaims, running back inside the dojo with a smoothie in hand and a brochure in his other hand. "You guys gotta check this out." The group walks over to stand by him. "These brochures are all over the place. This new owner's making some big changes."

"Wow." Kim said after looking at the brochure Eddie had. She smiles. "They finally moved the baby changing area out of the food court. And if you ask me, that was a big step in the right direction."

"No way! They're bringing in a Captain Corndog!" Eddie noticed while he looked at the brochure.

"Oh, snap!" Looking at the brochure, Jerry takes it from Eddie. "That's a classy joint." He smiles. "Yeah, my sister got married in a Captain Corndog. The Captain walked her down the plank himself."

"Woah, look at that huge parking lot." Milton pointed out, taking the brochure next.

Kate moves closer to get a better look when she saw something looked off to her. Her eyes widened in realization, and she begins to grow worried. She knew her cousin wondered the same thing she was when he asks, "Wait a minute, where's our dojo?"

"There's a parking lot where our dojo should be." Eddie frowned.

"Woah." The six teens spoke in a sad tone.

****

The mall's new owner was now here and he brought his son, Arthur, with him. Kate didn't know anything about the new owner of the mall or his son, so she hoped that both were nice. And from what she heard of when they met with Rudy after they walked into the dojo the dad and son seemed like nice people.

Rudy and Arthur's dad went to Rudy's office to talk which just left Arthur out with Kate and the others. Jack walks over to Arthur with a smile on his face, offering his hand to Arthur for the red-haired boy to shake. "Hey, I'm Jack. How are you doing?"

Kate's hopes of Arthur being nice were crushed when he showed his true self. "So what do you losers do all day around this dump?" Arthur questioned in a rude tone. It turned out he only acted nice around his dad. "Sit around and pretend you know karate?" He then waved his arms around, acting as if he was doing a karate move. Kate scoffed at the red-haired boy and crossed her arms, feeling anger slowly beginning to grow.

"Yo, pretend to know karate?" Jerry raises his eyebrows and moves to stand in front of him. He smirks. "Check this out." He blows some air and gets into a fighting stance, acting as if he was getting ready to show some karate moves. He then stands up and takes a step back, glancing at Jack. "Go ahead, show him, Jack." Arthur scoffed and rolled his eyes.

Kate and the other teens backed up to give Jack some room and she hypes him up along with Eddie, Milton, Kim, and Jerry. Jack gets into his stance before he does a roundhouse kick to the dummy in front of him. He kicked off the head of the dummy and the dummy's head flew towards the open doors of the dojo, bouncing out toward the quad and landed in the nail salon near by that had its door open. Kate cringed when she heard a woman's scream, but she smiled and cheered Jack on with her friends.

As Jack high fives his friends, Arthur scoffs. "That was nothing." He walks over to grab the bo staff Milton held. "You guys wanna see some real karate moves?" He smirks. "Watch this." He walked over to stand near the dummy and screamed while he twirled the bo staff around. He then knocked off the trophies that were on display, causing them to fall and break. Kate and her friends backed away from Arthur and hid behind the dummy so they wouldn't get hit with Arhtur's crazy swinging.

Arthur's eyes widen upon seeing the damage he had done and he immediately stops using the bo staff. "Uh-oh." He threw it to Milton, who caught it, and that was when the door to Rudy's office opened, and Kate and her friends moved of their hiding place.

"What was that?" Rudy asked, looking at the group of teens with wide eyes.

"I can't believe it, sir." Arthur speaks up before the others could. He points at Milton, who looks panicked. "That kid just busted up all your trophies."

Rudy stands in front of Milton and points at him, speaking in a stern voice. "Milton, you are in big trouble."

Kate scoffs, a look of disbelief forming on her face. "This is so unfair."

"Yeah," Jack agrees, pointing at Arthur. "It wasn't Milton. It was Arthur." Arthur looked at him with offense.

"Oh," The anger fades away and Rudy nods. He smiles at Arthur. "Well, accidents happen." Arthur smiles, chuckling as he nods in agreement. Rudy walks over to him with a smile on his face. He puts a hand on Arthur's shoulder. "Thank you for showing us what a dangerous place that is to keep trophies." Arthur's dad looked proud of his son since he didn't know what Arthur actually did while Kate and her friends looked at Rudy in disbelief. They couldn't believe that he was letting Arthur get away with this.

"Now," Rudy takes his hand off Arthur's shoulder and faces his students with a smile. "Everyone give our newest member Arthur a big Bobby Wasabi welcome." He clapped along with Arthur. It seemed like them along with Arthur's dad were the only ones happy about this news.

"What?" Kate inquires, looking at her cousin with wide eyes. She scoffs. "You have to be kidding." Along with her friends, she glanced at Jerry with annoyance when he joined in on the clapping.

After the clapping is done, Jerry glances at his friends with raised eyebrows. "What?" He smiles. "I love clapping!" He claps again and grins. "Whoo!"

****

The next day Jack had begged her to hang out with him and Arthur since he had somehow got dragged into having to spend time with Arthur. Kate agreed because she couldn't say no to Jack's puppy dog eyes. The last thing Kate wanted to do today was to hang out with Arthur, but here she was. Thankfully, Jack was there too or otherwise she doesn't know if she would've been able to refrain herself from punching that spoiled brat.

Kate trails behind Arthur and Jack into the dojo with a bemused expression on her face and her arms crossed. Arthur had his arm wrapped around Jack's shoulder and was laughing about what just happened before they walked into the dojo. "Oh, man." Jack gets out of Arthur's grasp, looking annoyed as Arthur points at the others with a grin on his face. "You guys should've seen what we just did." The red-haired boy laughs. "It was a riot."

Kate rolls her eyes, standing beside Jack once the three of them were in the main area of the dojo. "No, it wasn't."

Arthur ignores her comment and chuckles. "It was like taking candy from a baby."

Jack presses his lips together and nods. "That's what you actually did, Arthur." He looks at Arthur with pure annoyance. "You took candy from a baby."

"Hey, could I-" Jerry points at the twizzlers Arthur held. "Could I get in on that?" He takes one from Arthur without waiting for a response. He grins after taking a bite out of the twizzler. "Nothing tastes better than something stolen from a baby."

Kate sighs heavily. "I really hope that doesn't mean you've done that before."

Jerry stops in the middle of taking a bite and glances at her with a sheepish expression. "Possibly." Kate just shook her head at him and he shrugged, continuing to eat his twizzler.

Kate and Jack exchange a look, silently having a conversation, and they both nod at the same time. Once they get to Rudy's office, Jack opens the door, letting Kate walk in first before he follows her and he slams the door after he was in. "What's the point of Rudy joining the dojo, huh?" Kate questioned with exasperation, crossing her arms as she faced her cousin. She furrowed her eyebrows and tilted her head to the side upon seeing him sitting on a toilet.

Jack nods in agreement. "Why do we have to be his friends?" He furrows his eyebrows when he saw what Rudy is sitting on and he outstretches his arms in frustration. "And why are you sitting on a toilet?"

Rudy smiles. "This new high-tech toilet is a gift from Mr. Turner."

"So you're just throwing Myrtle away?" Jack asks. "After everything you put her through?"

"Oh, please," Rudy rolls his eyes. "Myrtle's just an old flush bucket. The magic was gone years ago. We were just going through the motions."

"Oh, okay," Jack nods in realization. "I see what this is about." He scoffs. "You sold us out for a new toilet."

Rudy stands up. "I saved our dojo. When Mr. Turner was saying that Arthur was having a hard time making friends, I jumped on it and said he could make friends right here."

"That was a bad idea." Kate comments. She sighs. "Rudy, none of us want to be his friends. He's a jerk and a spoiled brat."

Jack nods in agreement. "Friends are loyal. Friends have your back."

"Friends aren't like Arthur." Kate added and Jack pointed at her in a sign of agreement.

"Now come on," Rudy sighs. "Just promise me that you guys will try and make this Arthur thing work."

Jack is quiet for a few seconds, but he eventually sighs and nods. "Fine." He and Rudy glances at Kate since she didn't respond yet. "Come on, Rina." Jack encourages. "If I have to try then you do too."

Kate groans, but she nods. "Okay, okay. Only if it means saving the dojo."

Jack smiles a bit and he glances at Rudy. He sighs. "If it means saving the dojo we'll give the spoiled little brat a chance."

"See?" Rudy smiles. "That's the spirit." He looks at his new high tech toilet before glancing at the teens in front of him with a grin. "Hey, guys, check this out." He stood in front of the toilet and waved his hand in front of it.

Kate raises her eyebrows when she heard a female computer voice speak from the toilet. "The Evacutron five thousand is now ready to boarding. Would you like your seat warmed?"

Rudy kneels beside the toilet with a wide smile on his face. "If this thing could cook, I would totally marry it."

Kate looks at him weirdly. "Seriously?"

"Apparently it can cook." Jack notices, pressing a button on the back side of the toilet and four waffles shot out of the toaster section of the toilet. Jack catches them and winced because of how hot they were and Rudy stood up, grabbing a plate off his desk for Jack to put the waffles on. "You're, uh, you're toilet waffles are ready."

Rudy sniffs the waffles and looks at them fondly. "You're not gonna eat those, are you?" Kate asked him, looking at him with wide eyes. She hoped that he wouldn't, but knowing Rudy he probably was.

"No." Rudy chuckles. He grins. "Not without syrup." He got the syrup dispenser that was attached to the toilet and sprayed some on the waffle.

Jack and Kate watches with disgusted expressions. "Rudy, you're gross." Kate commented.

****

Kate walks into the dojo with her friends the next day, surprised to see Arthur there with a new punching dummy that had a red bow on it. She raised her eyebrows and tilted her head to the side. She assumed Arthur got the practice dummy for them, but she didn't know his intentions for it and she had a feeling that there was something more to it considering how Arthur acted with them when Rudy or his dad wasn't around.

"Woah, what's this?" Jack inquired.

Arthur stands up from the bench he was sitting on, walking over to stand by the new dummy. He gestures to it. "It's a gift. I know I've been a little bit of a jerk."

As a scoff leaves her lips, Kate crosses her arms. "That's the understatement of the year."

Jack nods in agreement. "That's like saying Jerry's a little bit confused."

Upon hearing his name, Jerry glances at Jack with a confused expression. "What?" He looks at Arthur. "Wait, what'd I miss?" He glances between the two boys and it was obvious he was confused. "I'm confused." Kate rolled her eyes and chuckled quietly. Sometimes Jerry wasn't the brightest.

"Look, to show you that I'm not all bad, I got you guys this brand-new State-of-the-art punching dummy." Arthur explained with a smile on his face.

Jack smiles a bit. "You know what, Arthur? Maybe I had you wrong. That's a pretty cool move." While the others agreed with Jack, Kate was still hesitant with Arthur after what he had done but maybe he's trying to redeem himself so she figured she might as well give him another chance.

"Alright, that's more like it." Jerry smirks, taking a step forward to stand in front of the punching dummy. "Now I think I should be the one to break this bad boy in. Whoo!" He punched the dummy, but then a boxing glove appeared out of the punching dummy and hit Jerry right in the stomach. The hit was so hard he fell back on the floor.

A worried look forms on Kate's face and she quickly goes over to Jerry to check on him. Her friends follow her meanwhile Arthur was laughing the whole time. Kate and the others back away when Jerry raises a hand, letting them know he could get up by himself. "See, I told you guys it was a punching dummy." Arthur laughs. "You get it?"

Kate crosses her arms, looking at the red-haired boy with a glare. "Yeah, we get it, Arthur." She spoke sassily, putting emphasis on some of the words she spoke because that's just how mad she was with Arthur. Arthur rolled his eyes at her, but still had a smirk on his face, still amused by this whole situation. Kate would've took a step forward to go punch him, but Jack noticed and grabbed her arm to stop her. She glanced at him with furrowed eyebrows, wondering why he stopped her.

"Don't." Jack warns her. "You know we promised Rudy." Kate sighed heavily and nodded while Jack let go of her arm after he was sure she wouldn't go after Arthur.

"It's on, dummy." Jerry points at him with a determined expression on his face. "It's on."

Jack glares at Arthur. "That's it." He took a step forward to go at Arthur, but Kim stepped in front of him to stop him.

"Jack, you can't do this. You promised Rudy." Kim reminds him. Jack stays where he is, continuing to glare at Arthur. Kim turns to face Arthur with a glare. "But I didn't."

"No, Kim." Eddie steps in front of her before he turns to face Arthur with a scowl on his face. "I want him all to myself."

Milton puts his hand on Eddie's chest to stop him from walking towards Arthur. "No, Eddie. This one's all me." He faced Arthur with an intimidating expression before his face falters and he looks at his friends with a scared look on his face. "Wait, why can't Jack or Kate do this?"

"Guys, let's just start practice." Jack suggested.

"Woah, woah, woah, Jack." Arthur stands in front of Jack. "I got this. Since Rudy's not around and," He gestures to the green belt that was tied around his waist. "I outrank everyone, I'll lead the class."

"Are you nuts?" Eddie gestures to Jack and Kate. "You don't outrank Jack or Kate."

Arthur turns to face him with amusement. "Really? See, I don't know if you noticed," He smirks, gesturing to his green belt. "but I'm a green belt."

"Yeah, because your daddy bought it for you." Kim remarked and Kate high fived her since she thought that was a good comeback.

Arthur stands in front of Jack. "Jack, you don't know anything about karate." He glances at Kate, who stood beside him. He chuckles. "And you definitely don't know anything about karate either."

Kate stares at him with an angered expression. "Why? Because I'm a girl?"

Arthur laughs and nods. "Yeah. Karate isn't for girls so I would be surprised that you know anything about it." Kate was practically seething in anger by now because one, of the things Arthur has already done to her friends, and two, he was being sexist.

Arthur looks back at Jack with a threatening stare. "You're nothing but a scrawny little skate rat." Jack's jaw clenched and he pressed his lips together, staring at Arthur with a glare in his eyes. He was already angry at Arthur for how sexist he was being acting, especially how he was acting with Kate, but now he even more angry for how Arthur was acting with himself.

And now Kate has another reason to be mad at Arthur. "Okay," She steps between Arthur and Jack, smiling sweetly at the red-haired boy, who looked at her with a smirk. "Let me show you that karate is for everyone." Before anyone could stop her, Kate punched Arthur in the face, causing the said boy to stumble back a bit.

Arthur looks at her with shock along with Kate's friends. He now had a black eye thanks to her. Arthur scoffs, looking at the others with wide eyes. "How come none you stopped her?" He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms. "Some friends you are."

"First of all, we're not your friends. And second of all, you deserved it." Jack responds. Eddie, Milton, Kim, and Jerry nods in agreement while Kate looks proud of herself for standing up to Arthur. Jack glances at Arthur with an intimidating look and each time he stepped toward Arthur, Arthur would take a step back, obviously threatened by Jack. "And you're nothing but a spoiled little poser."

Kate laughs along with her friends at Jack's comeback. Arthur, however, wasn't amused by this and he looked like he didn't like the fact that people were laughing at him. "Poser, huh?"

"Yeah." Jack nodded and turned around to walk away.

Arthur shakes his head with an angered expression on his face. "That's it." He went after Jack and tried to throw Jack on the ground when he thought Jack wasn't paying attention. But Jack was paying attention and he turned around, grabbing Arthur's arms and threw Arthur, standing in a fighting stance afterwards.

Kate's eyes widened as she watched Arthur land in the wall with his butt stuck in it. She couldn't help the laugh that escaped her lips because she had to admit the sight of Arthur stuck in a wall was funny. Her friends laughed along with her while the only one not amused by this was Arthur.

Arthur glares at the group of teens. "You're gonna be sorry you did that!"

The laughter stops immediately when Mr. Turner-Arthur's dad- and Rudy walks in. "What is going on?" Mr. Turner asked in an angry tone, walking over to his son.

"It's a good thing you're here, dad. I was just saying my prayers and eating my vitamins until Kate punched me in the face," Arthur glares at Kate and she rolls her eyes in response, crossing her arms. "And then Jack," He glares at Jack next. "Threw me into this wall."

Rudy looks at Jack and Kate with a look that read 'are you serious' and outstretches his arms. Kate just shrugged in response. She wasn't apologetic about what she did. She thought Arthur deserved it. "We had a deal, Rudy." Mr. Turner faces Rudy with an upset expression. "You said that this was a warm, safe environment where Arthur could learn karate and make friends."

"That must've been a complete accident with Kate." Rudy laughs nervously, glancing at Mr. Turner with a sheepish expression. "She has uncontrollable reflexes sometimes." He looks at his cousin with a small glare. "Isn't that right, Kate?"

"Yeah, I guess." Kate agreed.

"And Jack," Rudy walks over to stand in front of Jack. "Did you throw Arthur into our," He glances at Mr. Turner with a smile. "Wall of friendship?"

Everyone immediately agrees with him. Rudy goes over to Arthur and helps him out of the wall. Now there was a hole where Arthur was. "Uh, they don't do that to just anyone." He smiles at Arthur. "They must really like you." He walks over to stand in front of Jack and Kate who stood by each other. "Don't you guys?"

"I'm not gonna apologize for what I did." Kate shakes her head. "He was being sexist and he deserved a punch to the face."

Arthur scoffs, rolling her eyes. "And now you're making up rumors."

"Rudy, I didn't want to fight him. He just came right at me." Jack defended himself.

"He came at you, you came at him-It's like a big comin' at you party in here." Rudy nervously smiled at Mr. Turner and once again everyone agreed. After seeing the look on Mr. Turner's face, Rudy looks back at the group of teens with a smile but it was clear to see he was angry at them by the look in his eyes. "Alright, back to practice, you loveable scamps."

Kate and her friends agreed once again and were quick to get back on the mat and starts doing some stretches. "Rudy, this is unacceptable." Mr. Turner said to Rudy. "I want Jack and Kate out of this dojo."

Kate stops in the middle of her stretch and she exchanges a wide-eyed look with Jack while her heartbeat increases. Rudy wouldn't make them leave, would he? "What?" Their friends questioned in disbelief and they all turned to face Rudy, Mr. Turner, and Arthur.

Crossing his arms, Arthur smirks at Jack and Kate. "Bye-bye, Jack and Kate."

Jack and Kate glance at Rudy and Kate glances at her cousin with a pleading expression, hoping that he wouldn't kick them out. Rudy had a pained expression on his face. He could never kick out some of his best students. "I'm sorry, Mr. Turner," Rudy shakes his head, glancing at Mr. Turner with an apologetic expression. "But that's not gonna happen."

A relieved smile tugs on Kate's lips. "Okay, then." Mr. Turner points at Rudy. "You have two hours to get out." A sad expression forms on Kate's face and her shoulders drop in defeat. "You're standing on the site of my new parking lot." Mr. Turner faces his son, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Come on, son." He left with his son and Kate was glad they were finally gone.

Kate turns her attention to her right when she heard the sound of Rudy's high tech toilet and saw the high tech toilet had moved out to the dojo. "It's time for your three-thirty appointment." The computer female voice announced.

"Oh, shut up." Rudy spoke angrily.

"I get it. It's because I'm a toilet, isn't it?" The computer female voice asked, sounding upset. The lid of the seat flipped down since it was up and the toilet turned around to head back to the office while Rudy watched with an upset expression.

****

Jack and Kate decided on leaving the dojo. While neither one wanted to leave, it was the only way to save the dojo. So the next day they packed their things out of their lockers in the dojo. "Jack, Kate, you're not leaving." Rudy told them.

Jack picks up his duffle bag after he closed his locker. "if we don't leave, you're all gonna lose the dojo."

"And we're not gonna be the reason why that happens." Kate added, closing her locker next and picked up her brown colored backpack.

"No, no, no." Rudy steps in front of the two teens before they could walk forward. "You're not going. Sometimes in life a man," He glances at Kate with a small smile. "Or woman has to decide what's really important." His attention is distracted by two mover guys carrying Rudy's high tech toilet out of his office. "Hey, not my toilet!" Rudy cries out. He grabs Jack's arm, pushing him towards the mover guys. "Take the boy instead!"

"Rudy!" Milton scolded.

"Well, I'm sorry," Rudy lets go of Jack and turns to face Milton. "But you never sat on her."

"We're not gonna take this, man." Jerry chimes in. "We gotta fight the power, yo."

Kate nods in agreement, a smile making its way to her lips. Jack drops his duffle bag on the floor and nods in agreement. "Jerry's right. We've gotta fight back. Like that guy on Meyer Avenue who chained himself to that old oak tree so they wouldn't cut it down."

Kim smiles and nods. "He stood his ground and saved that tree."

"Until it fell over in a storm, destroyed my Aunt Verna's house and she had to move into my room." Milton frowns. He shudders. "I've seen things no boy my age should see."

Kate's nose scrunches up with disgust and she shakes her head. "You ruined the mood, buddy."

"You know what? You guys are onto something." Rudy realizes. "What Turner's doing is wrong and we gotta fight back."

"What are you saying, Rudy?" Jerry asked.

"I'm saying that they can't tear down the dojo if I'm chained to that post." Rudy replies, gesturing to a post near the front. "And I will fight the good fight for as long as it takes." He smirks. "So chain me up." The six teens cheered for Rudy.

*****

"Get these things off me!" Rudy shouts from his place now chained to a post in the dojo. "I can't take it anymore. I'm going crazy!"

"Rudy," Kate raises her voice to get his attention and he glances at her with wide eyes. She chuckles. "You were already crazy before." He looked at her with a frown and she just sweetly smiled at him.

"Rudy, it's only been three minutes." Jack told Rudy, looking at him with an amused smile.

Kate brings her attention to Kate, who was walking back over to the group while on a phone call and by the tone of her voice she sounded upset. "Yeah, well, you know, if it's such a great story, why don't you cover it yourself?" She ends the call, glancing at the group with an angered expression. "That was Margaret trying to give me another lame story to cover."

Kate sets her backpack down on one of the chairs that were near her and sympathetically smiles at her. "What's the great story this time?" She asked sarcastically. Kim had told her about the countless lame stories Margaret gave her because Margaret thinks she's just good at being pretty and perky and isn't good enough to take on a real story. Kate thought that was ridiculous and thought that Kim deserved a shot at doing a real story and not the lame ones she had been given recently.

"Big news in the cafeteria, apparently Taco Tuesdays is becoming Fajita Friday." Kim spoke, pretending to act perky and then an annoyed expression was on her face after she spoke.

"Yes!" Milton cheers. "You slip the lunch lady a box of chocolates and a cat calendar-" He grins. "Oh, you can move mountains, baby!"

"All this talk about food is getting me hungry." Eddie speaks up. "I'm going over to Honey Buns to hook us up."

"No, no, no." Jerry stops him from leaving. "You can't go out there, man. That's just what they want. You go out that door, it's like we're giving up."

"Well, eventually we're gonna need something to eat." Kim pointed out.

Eddie glances at the ceiling at the air vent. "You know, our air vent connects with the nail salon." He glances at everyone with a smile. "Those ladies are always snacking on something."

Jack nods, standing up from his place where he was sitting. "Yeah, he's right."

"Yeah, but who's skinny enough to fit through that vent?" Jerry inquired. They each looked at Milton after he asked that. Milton looked to the other side of him, thinking they were looking at something or someone else, but then realized they were looking at him.

"Oh." Milton said. His eyes widen in realization. "Oh!" He then got ready to get in the vent. He took off his shirt to reveal he's wearing a white tank top and threw his shirt to Eddie-Kate wasn't for sure why he took his shirt off-and then he grabbed a nearby black belt and tied it around his head. He put on knee pads and even put black sharpie lines underneath his eyes.

A determined expression forms on his face. "Let's do this."

With Jack's and Jerry's help, Milton gets close to the vents. "I think the exhaust fan just kicked on." Jack noticed after a loud whirring and clanking noise could be heard from inside the vent.

Jerry glances at hi with confusion. "What makes you say that?" Milton screamed as he was suddenly sucked into the vent.

Kate cringes. "Yeah, the exhaust fan is on."

****

"Check it out. Turner just showed up with some people." Jack observed and everyone (besides Rudy since he was chained to the post) got up from the place they were sitting to check it out. Jack was right. There were police men out front who were blocking off the area and Mr. Turner stood in the middle with a megaphone.

"Attention dojo squatters," Mr. Turner speaks into the megaphone. "You have five minutes to get out. We are bringing in a wrecking ball."

"You don't scare us, Turner." Rudy yells. He rolls his eyes and speaks in his normal tone of voice. "That whole bringing-in-a-wrecking-ball routine-it's the oldest trick in the book." Hearing that helped calm Kate down, but her worries and nerves skyrocketed when she heard the sound of a motor roaring and she brought her attention to outside upon seeing a wrecking ball.

"Yeah," A shocked expression forms on Kate's face. "I don't think Turner was kidding."

"What?" Rudy glances out the windows with wide eyes. He panics, looking at the chains and then at the teens. "Unchain me, you fools!"

"We can't. You gave the keys to Milton." Jerry reminded him.

"What? No, it can't end like this." Rudy frowns and begins to panic more. "I-I never sat in a hot tub full of pudding." He furrows his eyebrows and tilts his head to the side. "No, wait. Yes, I did. No, that was custard."

Kate looks at him with disgust along with her friends. "Once again, Rudy," She points at him. "You're gross."

"Nobody brings a crowd out like a wrecking ball." Jerry points out. He smiles. "They're totally on our side. You can feel the love."

"Knock it down! Knock it down!" People outside chanted repeatedly.

"Oh, yeah." Kate rolls her eyes and leans against the other post across from the one Rudy is chained to as she sarcastically speaks, "I'm feeling the love."

Jerry opens the door, leaning out to yell at the people angrily, "Why don't you guys shut your pie holes?" Jerry closed the door while the people grew quiet. Kate chuckled in disbelief, surprised that they shut up.

"Y'all, I just realized that I'm in the middle of a really big story." Kim grins. "Five kids from our school fighting a great justice."

"Kim, you better get out there." Jack gestures with a nod of his head outside when he spots Margaret and a cameraman with her. "Your friend Margaret Bork just showed up."

An angered expression forms on Kim's face. "Oh, no she didn't. Not today, Margaret. Not today!" She shouted angrily as she marched out the doors.

"In two minutes, we're turning this place into a parking lot." Mr. Turner announced into the megaphone. Kate bit her lower lip and fiddled with the end of the long sleeve shirt she wore. She was worried that they might actually lose the dojo. She couldn't lose the dojo. It meant a lot to her. It was a place where she and her best friends could be themselves and do something they all love, karate.

"I'm going out there." Jerry declares. Kate moves to stand by Jack and Eddie by the door as Jerry walked outside. They couldn't hear what Jerry said that well without the loud megaphone, but they could faintly hear him. "Alright, I got some demands people. Alright, we're gonna need a big bag of cheeseburgers, some fries, some juice boxes and-And throw in some of those glow-in-the-dark straws. Yeah, they make drinking fun, you know?"

"Your demands stick!" A man told him.

"Yeah!" The crowd agreed.

"I wasn't finished." Jerry groans. "And uh-And I'm also gonna need a couple of helicopters flown by supermodels."

The man gives him two thumbs up and grins. "Now those are demands!" The crowd agreed with him again.

"Alright." Jerry smiles. "Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, now who's with me? Wasabi!"

Kate's eyes widened when the crowd chanted 'wasabi' along with Jerry. She didn't think Jerry could get them on their side. She grinned and she, Eddie, and Jack joined in on the chanting.

"Where's Arthur?" Mr. Turner shouted into the megaphone, clearly angered by what was happening.

The chanting stopped when the wrecking ball was shown. A shocked expression formed on Kate's face when she saw the wrecking ball was put directly behind where Margaret and her camera guy were filming. Jerry and the crowd moved out of the way as it began to swing.

"Kate, get out of the way!" Kim yelled.

"I'm on the air, Kim." Margaret informed her. The camera guy ran away upon seeing the wrecking ball behind Margaret and she looked at him with confusion. She turned around and a fearful look formed on her face. She screamed just as the wrecking ball swung at her, but before the wrecking ball hit her Kim ran at Margaret and tackled her out of the way.

Jerry opens the door of the dojo, looking at them with wide eyes. "Yo, Arthur's lost it, guys."

Kate glances at him with wide eyes. "Arthur's the one controlling the wrecking ball?" She frowns. "Yeah, we're screwed."

Jerry walks into the dojo, closing the door behind him. "A few more swings and this dojo's history." He said worriedly.

"What are we gonna do?" Eddie inquired.

Jack glances at his friend's and sensei's worried faces and he nods with a determined expression on his face. "I got this." He then walked towards the door.

Kate looks at him with confusion. "Jack, what are you doing?" He didn't respond as he opened the door and walked outside. Kate, Eddie, and Jerry stand by the door to watch what would happen. The crowd ducked when the wrecking ball swung by them and Jack jumped on top of a table at the same time. He jumped on top of the wrecking ball when it was close to him, holding onto the rope so he won't fall off.

Kate's eyes widen. "He's so stupid."

"Probably not my best idea." Jack admitted upon realizing what he was actually doing. He then jumped on top of the crane and Kate let out a sigh of relief she didn't realize she was holding at seeing he didn't miss the landing. Arthur got out of the crane, taking the keys with him. Jack flipped off the crane, landing on his feet and landing in front of Arthur. He did a roundhouse kick, kicking the keys out of Arthur's hand and he caught them.

Jack smirks, dangling the keys just to tease him. Arthur glares at him, lunging forward to grab the keys. Jack ducks and he easily avoids the aimless punches and kicks Arthur throws at him. Jack walked away, but Arthur grabbed his arm to pull him back. Just when Arthur thought he had the upper hand, Jack reached over with his other arm to grab Arthur's left hand and turned Arthur around. Jack kicked Arthur forward, letting go of the red-haired boy's arms and Arthur stumbled forward. The red-haired boy caught his balance, picking up a long wooden stick that was in the construction area to use as a weapon.

Jack quickly jumps on the landing part of the crane beside the open door of the crane. Arthur goes to hit Jack with the long wooden stick and Jack avoids it just in time. He avoids each time Arthur tries to hit him which angered Arthur even more. "Say goodbye to your dojo, Jack." Arthur said, causing Jack to look at his dojo with confusion and a fearful look appeared on his face when he saw the wrecking ball swinging towards the dojo. Jack being distracted gave Arthur the advantage to hit Jack. Jack wrapped his arm around the long wooden stick and punched it. The wooden stick broke in half and Arthur lost his balance as it fell on him.

Jack leans into the crane to put the keys in the ignition and turn it on. He then pushed the lever to stop the wrecking ball before it could crash into the dojo. Jack watched with a cringed expression, hoping that the wrecking ball would stop in time. Inside the dojo, Kate, Eddie, and Jerry backed away to stand by Rudy. Kate stood behind her cousin and the boys and they all covered their selves as the wrecking ball came closer. They were all thankful that the only thing the wrecking ball did was tap the door before it went back to its original place.

Jack raises his arms with a relieved expression on his face. "Yes!" Everyone cheered while Arthur groaned. Kate, her cousin and the boys stopped covering their selves and were all relieved that they and the dojos weren't ruined. Kate grinned when she noticed Kim took Margaret's place with the town news.

"I'm live on the scene here with Bobby Wasabi Dojo. We have an eyewitness to the action-Our own head reporter Margaret Bork." Kim walks over to Marget, who was in shock of what happened to her. "Margaret, in your own words, would you tell us what you saw?" She offered the microphone to her for Margaret to speak into.

"So big, so round, so coming at me." Margaret responds, giggling after each time she spoke. "Coming at me." She laughed and turned around to walk away.

"Well said, Margaret." Kim brings the microphone back in front of her, glancing at the camera with a smirk. She smiles. "There you have it, folks. I'm Kim Crawford and I have a feeling y'all will be seeing a lot more of me."

Kate didn't expect for Mr. Turner to walk into the dojo and check on them, but he did. "Is everyone okay in here?" He asked as he walked inside.

Kate stands beside Eddie and crosses her arms, looking at him with a glare. "No thanks to you."

"Look, Turner, you win, alright?" Rudy gives up. "Just go ahead and take your dojo back. Put up your parking lot. But you know what?" He smiles. "We're proud. And we will hold our heads high." He raises his hands and just as he did that the chains fell. "Really?" He shakes his head. "Hands over the head-that's all it took."

Kate glances over at the door when it opens and she's relieved to see Jack was okay. She saw most of the fight that happened between him and Arthur but not all of it since she couldn't see it well from where she was at. Jack pushes Arthur into the dojo, closing the door behind him. "I think this belongs to you." He said to Mr. Turner.

"Arthur," Mr. Turner walks over to his son, looking at him in disbelief. "How could you do something like this? I've given you everything."

"Eh. Maybe that's the problem." Rudy commented.

Mr. Turner glances at him with furrowed eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Well, this dojo might not be much, but it's built on the principles of discipline and respect," Rudy explains. "A couple things Arthur obviously doesn't have."

Arthur crosses his arms and rolls his eyes. "Blah, blah, blah. Look, can we just knock down their little dump, dad?"

"Or I can give you another black eye." Kate threatened, raising her now closed fist to act like she was going to punch him. Eddie grabbed her arm to pull her back when she took a step forward and Arthur took a step back when he glanced at Kate. Eddie let go of Kate when she lowered her arm and she smiled, happy to know that she intimidated Arthur.

"No." Mr. Turner speaks sternly to Arthur, pointing at him, and Arthur looks at him with surprise. "He's right." He faces Rudy with an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry, Rudy. Your dojo can stay."

Kate grins excitedly. "Yes!" She cheers with everyone and she immediately hugs jack back when he went over to hug her first. After their hug, Jack hugs Eddie and Kate hugs Jerry. They all face Mr. Turner and Arthur when Mr. Turner speaks to his son. "Arthur, get in the car." He demands. "You're grounded."

A confused look appears on Arthur's face. "Grounded? What does that even mean?"

"I think you're about to find out." Jack answers. He waves at Arthur and grins at him, speaking in the same sassy tone like Arthur did to him and Kate the other day. "Bye-bye, Arthur." Arthur glared at him and his dad guided him out of the dojo.

Rudy faces Jack, putting a hand on his shoulder with a smile on his face. "Jack, what you did was incredible."

Smiling, Jack shakes his head. "It wasn't just me. We all did it." Kate shares a smile with the boys and from her place between Jack and Eddie, she wraps her arms around them while Jerry and Eddie wrap their arms around each other, Jack wraps his arm around Kate's waist, and he smiles at her. Kate did her best to ignore the way her heartbeat beats faster when he did that and she smiles back at him. "Wait a minute," Jack glances around the dojo with furrowed eyebrows. "Has anyone seen Milton?"

Unbeknownst to the gang, Milton was in the nail salon getting his nails done and cheering up a girl after she had a bad break up.
