"You know, if the world were to ever end, that I would stick by your side till our last breath of air.", said Terra to her partner on the other end of the phone, as she lays in her bedrooms bed. Her partner, Amiyah, replies with, "Of course, I know because I would do that exact same for you too."

1 week later

Terra turned the tv on and switched it to the news, "BREAKING NEWS! A massive asteroid called Helios is hurtling towards Earth at speeds faster than a bullet and is the largest known asteroid to our knowledge. It is estimated that the asteroid will collide with Earth approximately at 4:00am eastern standard time in Manhattan, New York. This could quite possibly be the end of the world as we know it." Terra dropped the remote, her bright blue eyes begin to darken with fear and tears. Hastily, she grabbed for her jacket and shoes, bolting out the door ignoring the panic that had started to ensue outside. After running for about two blocks, she slows down and pulls out her phone, dialing in a number. There comes an answer from the phone, "Terra, hrraaaarrhh, bay? What are you doing up at this hour?", asks Amiyah sleepily, "It's literally half past midnight." "Have you seen the news yet?", asks Terra franticly and out of breath. Amiyah replies confused, "Huh?" "Have you seen the news yet?", repeats Terra, but louder this time. Amiyah, coming to her senses says, "No, no I have not. Why?" Terra, after a moment of silence then says, "I'll be at your house in about ten minutes or so, be dressed warmly. I promise that I will fill you in with what's going on when I get there." At that Terra hangs up. Leaving Amiyah to ponder why Terra is in a rush to get to her house at half past twelve, and not even giving a single explanation as to why. What could she have seen on the news that would have caused her to be so shaken up.

10 minutes later 

Amiyah threw on a plain black t-shirt with a pink long sleeve shirt under it and a pair of blue jeans. Now waiting anxiously for her girlfriend to arrive. Suddenly, there came a loud pounding from the front door. Immediately, Amiyah, raced down the stairs. Flinging the door open, Amiyah started to lecture Terra, "Terra you better tell-,", but was cut off by Terra, now clinging onto her and planting a soft kiss on her lips. They held that position for a few seconds before breaking apart. She then grabbed Terra's chin, lifting it so that their eyes would meet, "Baby, let's go sit down. Then you can tell me what's the matter."

They walked into the living room, sitting down close together on the couch. When they got situated, Terra finally spoke up in a small voice, "We have such little time left." "What do mean by that baby?", says Amiyah softly, scooting Terra closer to her and combing her hand through Terra's short fluffy black hair. "The world, the world is going to end....in a few hours.", says Terra, her eyes start to cloud from the tears starting to pool down her face. Amiyah looks at her, her chocolate brown eyes widen, "Your joking, right?", asks Amiyah even though she can already tell that Terra is being completely serious with her. Terra shakes her head. Digging her head into Amiyah's neck, soaking Amiyah's shirt with her tears. "Wha, what are we going to do.", asks Terra trying hard to choke back a sob. "I don't think that there is anything that we can do. But I know that we can make the most the time that we have left.", says Amiyah trying to not break down into tears when looking at her distraught girlfriend. Thinking that she needs to stay strong for her sake, when an idea popped into her head, "I think I have good idea of what we can do before the worlds end."

1 hour later, 2:13am

"Are you sure that this is a good idea?", asks Terra, her voice still a bit shaky, as they both look up at the eight-foot-tall fence that surrounds Central Park. "Of course, I mean there won't be any point to arresting us if we get caught.", says Amiyah trying to be optimistic. Terra hesitates, but then goes along with Amiyah. Amiyah climbs over first successfully, then Terra climbs over as well, but jumps off into Amiyah's arm from the top. They both fall to the ground with a thud. Amiyah bursts into a fit of giggles, "You made a scrunched-up face when you jumped. You look very cute when you scrunch up your face.", making Terra's cheeks turn strawberry pink. "Come on, lets hurry up to the spot, ok.", says Terra, flushed, as she helps Amiyah up. For a while they hoarse around on their way to the special spot that they have in mind. Playing tag, running between trees, giving piggyback rides, and holding each other's hands as they went. It looked as if it was just a regular old night for them and not their last one together.

30 minutes later, 2:52am

"Look, there's the spot!", says Amiyah, pointing to a nice big plate of rock surrounded by a patch of flowers in front of a glimmering pond. From there is a perfect view of the sky, with the moons beaming light shining down on them as they go to sit. When they get comfortable, Terra speaks up, "It's real hard to believe that in about an hour the world is going to blow.", laying her head on Amiyah's shoulder as she speaks. Amiyah bends down, coming back up with a pretty little Japanese anemone flower in hand. "Ya, it is but we should try to focus on all the good things we've had and not dwell on the end.", says Amiyah, placing the flower in Terra's fluffy black hair. For a while they just sat there and chatted about all of the good times they had together. Talking about how they first met, how they confessed to each other, all the fond memories that they shared together, and even acknowledged some the sad ones as well.

58 minutes later, 3:50am

"Hehe, look at that, time really does fly by.", says Amiyah with a sad smile, showing Terra what the time on her watch says. It reads 3:50 am. Even though she tried really hard to forget about it, the situation they are in begins to flood back into Terra's mind. Before she could start to tear up, Amiyah gets up and reaches out her hand to Terra saying, "May I have this dance?"  Terra without hesitation swiftly accepts Amiyah's hand. Amiyah leads her into dance, made from a mix of blues and foxtrot. Wrapping one hand around Terra's waist and taking her other hand around hers. Guides the first few steps, helping Terra get the gist of it. Together they flow so well that it looks as if they were almost flying through the breeze like two doves. Their eyes shimmering, interlocked, never breaking. As they twirl, they let all their sadness be spun out of them like a spider spins its web, so that only their love and happiness is left. The asteroid can now be physically seen hurtling closer to them with every step that they take. Finally, they pull into each other for one final kiss under the light of the moon, holding it until they cannot bear any longer without a breath of air. "See you soon, baby.", says Amiyah with a sad smile. "See you soon too.", says Terra with a sad smile as well, holding back the urge to break down into tears again. Pulling back in again for one more final kiss as the world disappears in the blink of a fiery eye.
