I lifted her chin and looked her in the eyes, "So I've had this question in my mind.." She raised a brow, "Where exactly are we going to live..that is if you would like to live together that is..", "Well we didn't have peach hearts..so living together seems to be okay with me.." I nodded, "As all I know is we can't go back to my mothers house since she lives with my grandparents, nor not to my father's new place as my mom would mentally go insane if I did even though he is well on his second honeymoon by now."

She muttered, "Ok. How about we will go live wherever the world takes us. Leave it all leading to a surprise." She smiled slightly. "So anywhere in the world you say? Does outer space count.." She laughed as I laughed as well, "Yeah even outer space counts..but I don't think we would be able to live without oxygen." She giggled, "What would your thoughts be if you were willing to live somewhere new.", "How new?"

She stared at me, "I know about an apartment on Shakespeare Street in between Downtown Oakheart District and Olympus Hills. It's only four hours away from both your grandparents' house and my mothers' house." Though living on Shakespeare Street sounded romantic it was a party street with crazy people who drink twenty-four seven and party like anytime, but that's on the south end as I wouldn't take her there. She continued to stare at me but then oddly looked around. "You okay?" she nodded slowly as I stood up, helping her up from her seat. "So would you rather take a bus or a quick transportation to cut the time in half."

She looked confused as I hoped by quickly I meant to fly. "I guess quick..", "You guess huh..well I take your guess as a yes.." I snapped as my wings came out as I leaned in and kissed her. "I know this already but I won't drop you.." I mumbled, "I know you won't..and I don't say this often to people but I trust you.." I led her out of The Magician Cove, and right then I took hold of her as we took off into the sky.

While I was flying to the height we were at before, I had paused and began to float in the air for a few minutes as I was taking in the view. Everything seemed to be calm and collected but something didn't seem right. As I saw a weird glow coming out of the clouds from a far distance. It was the color of a lighter shade of red, the color of red that was in between the peach color symbolizing fools love. That was strange. But out of the clouds appeared to be an arrow and it was coming towards her. It could only mean one thing.

Though without instinct I went to grab it but by doing so I ended up dropping Maya as well. My eyes widened as I looked down and went for her.  "Maya!" I groaned as the arrow was heating up in my hands as when I let it go it  left a scratch on my forearm. In the shape of a half complete arrow. I flew all the way down and saw her in the middle of an intersection screaming in pain. Out of all days, my father had to choose this day to attack. Then I heard the familiar sounds of an ambulance coming, that wasn't a good sign.

"I'm so sorry Maya.." I mouthed,  "Miss. If you can hear us, answer these questions. First, what's your name?" I began to panic as I broke the promise to never drop her, but I did. I felt so bad as I just wanted to help. "Her full name is Mariah Jamie Gib-..", "I'm sorry who are you?" The paramedic asked as I knew it was wrong to interfere but I had the gut instinct to. "Jac-.."

Her voice sounded off as I saw them place an oxygen mask on her as her eyes closed. "Could you tell me where you're taking her..", "No sorry..family only.." they had driven off as I just took flight and followed them all the way to the nearby health center. I landed and saw her being pulled in as the same paramedic went to enter her entrance. "You again..are you family.." I had lied, "Yes.." he sighed, "Ok.." he walked me to her room, "So she had quite a weird fall but she definitely looked like she has a strained back but she is having iv fluids being placed in her arm as we speak." I nodded as when we walked in she was connected to a pacemaker. "She'll be okay right?"

"All I can say is you only get an hour sir, once she awakes that is. It's what the law is." Even though it was the law, it was heartbreaking seeing her like this. I went to hold onto her hand. "Please stay alive and be awake and healthy..I can't lose you.." Her eyes flicker open as seeing the IV in her arm was gonna help her hopefully. She looked over at me, "Jacob..I.."

"Shh..save your voice..you're gonna be okay..the doctor said you strained your back..you may be in pain for a while..but the IV should help you." I took a few breaths but then she glared at me. She was definitely mad. "Why did you drop me?" She questioned as the sound of her voice was a bit raspy, "Once I said I trust you and you said you won't drop me. But you did, so why did you?" She wouldn't let me speak as she had no idea what was coming for her.

She coughed, "Well umm..it's a bit complicated..", "Jacob. Tell me.." I sighed and looked at me and rolled up my sleeve. "You were close to being marked by..by..the.." She stared at the marking. "The Devilry. It's a company where they did all the bad deeds in the world.." her eyes widened, "but why me to be marked but ended up on you.." She was confused. "Let me start from the beginning. When I was above in the clouds with you, I saw you were all happy, and started to be open with me, but that triggered The Devilry to come and hunt you. One of the workers there must have shot an arrow, the red maroon arrow to make one fall out of love. And so I saw heading straight for your glowing heart. If it went through your heart, you would have died right there in my arms.."

Her eyes widened, "So I panicked and grabbed it the wrong way and while doing so, I accidentally dropped you. But as soon as I released it to go and get you it started to slice my skin into the shape like it had a mind of its own.", "So what does this mean? Does this mean you technically saved my life.." I nodded as she looked at me, "What do they want from me? Besides falling out of love with you?"

"They want three things, they want us to be enemies, hence the falling out of love part. Two they want you dead so I can be miserable like my father and be forever loveless and three they want your blood.." Before she spoke another word I had  groaned as the cut was feeling bad. I then placed my hands over my ears, "Jacob. What's wrong.", "I don't know. It must be something with the maroon arrow. It must have been cursed. Maya whatever you do please..you gotta..please...forgive me..I don't want us to be enem-"

My ears began to ring as I knew we both didn't want us to become enemies as that was the last we wanted after all we've been through. "How long until the effects of the arrow of hate fully take effect?" My eyes closed as everything went blank, my mind felt empty as I felt my hands drop from my ears, I opened my eyes and laughed as I made eye contact with her. She gave off an odd feeling as I stopped laughing.

"What affects? An arrow? As a bow and arrow or you talking about cupid arrows? What are you talking about? Also who are you? Do I know you?" Who was this girl who had been asking me lots of questions? "Wait, why am I in the hospital?" Now I was asking lots of questions as I was confused. The girl got out of the bed but instead of standing still she had then just fell on top of me. She had instead tilted, falling on top of me.

When she fell I saw her squinted her eyes. What was she doing? Trying not to cry? Though when her eyes opened being filled with tears, something inside me made me remember her. I don't why I forget for a second who she was, but I knew who she was now. "What happened..", "I fell..but your eyes..there back to normal.." I raised a brow, "What do you mean?", "They were solid black.." I shrugged, "Oh. That's weird.." she looked at me strangely, "What's the last you remember.." I don't recall much, as the last thing with her was when we were at the cafe. "The last thing I recalled was being at The Magicians' Cove..what are we doing here at the hospital.." I had placed my other hand on her back in the middle. I felt something off.

"Oh, it seems like you have a dislocated bone in your spine.." she kept giving me a stare that had looked concerned, but what was concerning besides a bone being dislocated, "Here. Take a deep breath in.." I mumbled, she took a few breaths, "I-I know you're in pain but I am sure I can help fix it so you won't feel it anymore.." While she took a few breaths I had placed a hard push of pressure onto her spine but then I heard a pop. It must have gone back into place. "Ah!?", "Sorry.." tears streamed down her face, as I began to wipe the tears away.

"I'm guessing you're doing a bit better.." she nodded as I had helped her stand up just as the doctor came in, "I heard a scream, Ms. Gibson..was it you who screamed?" She seemed to be silent as I spoke for her, "Oh she's fine..she just had a dislocated bone in her spine.." The doctor looked at me weirdly, "Okay..umm I'll ask you more questions later..as your time is running short.", "What do you mean short?" What did he mean short? Why is he saying it was short? The doctor ignored me as he checked her spine to see if it was straight. He ran his finger down her spine and then asked her to walk in a straight line. "By the looks of it, your spine is off centered in a way and still curved but it isn't in bad shape. You may need X-rays..but before that how do you feel Ms. Gibson?"

She took a breath and looked at him, "Besides feeling off balance a little..and a bit of pain..I feel okay.."  He nodded,  "My recommendation after getting X-rays is that you should wear a brace..until four months pass to protect the spine from more damage and to gain some more balance in your step while straightening out the odd curve as well." she nodded, "Ok. Thank you Doctor." he handed a vest to me and left. "You have ten minutes remaining by the way.." the doctor closed the door as I looked at her.

"Why is there a time limit? Are you staying overnight or something? Plus what on earth happened and why are you here?" My mind was racing with questions as I didn't know what had happened as I just wanted answers to why she is here, why there is a time limit and much more. She sighed, "Well to keep it simple, you had dropped me while we were flying into Downtown Oakheart and Olympus Hills." I chuckled slightly, "But why would I drop you..I promised you I wouldn't.." she held my hand and showed me my forearm as there was the arrow marking. I knew that arrow anywhere.  My eyes had widened and I then frowned, "Oh my..Maya I am so..so..sorry..", "It's not your fault.." she mumbled.

"It is..well more so my dads fault but still.." I looked up at her, "Would you like me to at least try and walk you to the room where they do X-rays.." she nodded as I placed down the vest, but when I opened the door and held her hand, there were police waiting outside the door. "I tried to tell you, your time is coming to end..", "Woah. Woah. Care to explain to me why there is a time limit.." Seriously. Cops. Just great. "You should know. There are time limits when it comes to visitor hours but more limited due to your previous record.." My eyes widened, if only they were my father and not me.

"Wait what? No. You got this all wrong officer..that is for my father..not me.." and also if only they knew that we both had the same name but different middle names. They brought out handcuffs as I panicked and let go of her hand and made a run for it as they followed behind me. Eventually they got me and placed me in the back of a cop car driving all the way to Oakheart Juvenile Center.
