When people hear the name, Jacobsen, they think of the business owner who runs The Devilry where he and his minions are doing people's bad deeds, and or seeing a troubled old man playing around with arrows. Sadly only four people knew the truth, the truth behind the name, those four knew me as a Jacobsen who is pure and innocent. The four who knew were my grandmother Quinn, my mom Candiance, my sister Rosemary, and Maya.
"Please rise.." Judge Kelsey spoke as I saw Maya standing up and looking down at Kelsey speaking towards everyone but mainly at her for what had happened. "Ms. Gibson..eyes forward.." Kelsey said. She had tilted her head up and looked into the eyes of Kelsey, the head judge of the court. "Mariah. Can you tell us what happened on May twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth. From start to finish and all the information you know, and how you and Jacobsen came into this mess and happened to cross pathways.."
She looked at Maya but she didn't speak, as we both had known how it started but both had different endings. As both of us got into this mess due to the glow of our hearts. "She's not gonna speak to you..just saying.." Her mom commented as Kelesy looked over at her, "Hey I was just saying..she will speak when she is ready to speak.." But looking over at her trying not to cry and or speak was either because of the pain she was in, or because she was called Mariah and not Maya.
"If you speak with that snarky attitude, I have the right to send you straight to jail..", "No! No! I'll speak! I'll speak!" she yelped in defense for her mom, everyone's eyes widened looking at her. She had her hand on her throat as something had to happen for her to do that. She looked at me and then looked back at Kelsey. "I'll speak for Jacob..not Jacobsen." I smiled slightly, "Who is this Jacob?" Kelesy asked in confusion, as the jury chattered in confusion as well, nobody knew my nickname and only four people did and she was one of the four.
"He's my son!" my mom yelled, as then Rosemary also stood up with her. "He's my brother!", "He's the only one who you call Devil and Jacobsen as he is not the same person minus the same name. That is fathers' name. You assume too much about all the Devil myth and stuff like I used to do. But he is not one in any shape or form. Look at his tattoos, look at the veins, look at his feather colors. Look at every detail before you judge! Don't you know not to judge a book by its cover!", "Maya save your voice.." her mother whispered.
She looked over at me then looked back at Kelsey. "Speaking of this Devil. You need to start speaking and tell me everything, from fact to fiction or myth as we have it of things you know about him." I see her glaring at Kelsey as she had told them everything, but not in all its' details as Judge Kelsey was not part of the Supernatural world. Knowing the truth had always made me feel sick to my stomach, it had to be said and done. "Your honor if I may interject.." their lawyer tried to speak but Kelsey had interrupted.
"Hush!" I began to worry about Maya and her voice, she had spoken and even yelled and held her hand still on her throat. "It started only a day before my birthday..and surprisingly it was his as well. Before night came, my father had a second chance at falling in love..He was getting remarried. And when the night came was also when I had my first encounter with Jacob.." I looked at the judge and the jury as half were annoyed and others were dozing off. "You all know him as the Devil in Oakheart. But deep down inside of me, he has shown me he isn't that as I know him as Jacob Mason Willis. And he is not such a word Devil..but more of a goofy, caring, loving guy who saved my life multiple times.." Their attitude began to change. "Saved your life multiple times?" She nodded, "But back to the day before our birthday. During the late afternoon, my mother was helping me get ready to be the flower girl."
She then went on telling her story, as I tried to escape from the cuffs and started clicking and hitting them against one another. While she was nearly done telling her side of the story, Kelesy looked over and yelled at me as Maya just finished her side of the story. "Someone hold the Devil down! I know the sound of escaping from anyone." Kaiden, one of the many police officers, held me down. "And so that was how we met, and how he became my savior in a multiple dark suicidal moment. How I treated him as a normal person and eventually how I dealt with him being my lover.."
She said, as Kelsey was annoyed with me through the expression on her face. "Now..to hear from your side of the story..", "I just want to say that I have a name you know." I smirked as she glared, "Anyways..my story begins on July fourth..for the first time I had seen her face in the folder by accident on my sister's birthday."
