"Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday, Rose...Happy Birthday to you.." Mom had sung as Rosemary held the cupcake with a candle in it. "You didn't have to do this, you know but thanks." she said but then closed her eyes. She opened them and blew out the candle as Mom smiled towards her, "So what did you wish for.." she glared at me, "You never reveal wishes, or else never come true Jay..I'm surprised you didn't know that.." I rolled my eyes, "I knew that..", "Anyways. Rose, are you ready to know who your soulmate is.." her eyes widened, "I'm not twenty-one mom..I am twenty-three remember..", "The only thing that happens when you turn twenty-three is when your powers grow more stronger, that is according to Grandma Quinn though.."

She nodded, "Yes I recall that Jay but it also means that I would have to do well..", "Choose which side of the business you want to go into.." Rose had frowned. We grew up knowing our parents would never be seen together in public or even talk to each other after he went and started his business. It was also near the time I was born as he named me after himself, as what came with his only son. Though we grew up knowing about both sides of their business would have us either go into mom's cafe of french cuisine called La Papillion or go into dad's business of doing peoples' bad deeds and never get caught called the Devilry. And by both me and Rose being part devil, we kept our promises to go into a business by age twenty-three, but by the looks of Rose's face, she didn't want to do either one and neither did I but had to pick eventually.

"What if I make my own business..I do have a deposit each year from Dad and can use it for start-up cash.." Mom looked at her strangely, "I mean, it's all about what it may be. What are you thinking for an idea..", "I am going to let you guys talk it out, as I'm gonna go take a fly break. So I'll meet you guys later on at La Papillion." Mom held my hand, "Promise me you will be safe. I don't want you to run into anyone working with your father or himself..you know how they are..on this day." I nodded, "I will.." I gave her a hug and looked at Rose. "Happy Birthday Rosemary.." she smirked, "It's Rose.." I smirked, "I know. Love you." she chuckled, "Love you too Jay.." I headed out of the house and went for a fly.

It was late one night as I flew over to the second town I've lived in, and I read the welcome sign again. It always said: Welcome to Oakheart: Where The Unknowns Are Known. While soaring in the clouds and looking down at the streets and the town, as the people looked like ants, I saw ahead of me my father's business building but not much further down was La Papillion, in translation, The Butterfly.

Even though it is pronounced Butterfly, I tend to call it the Bitterfly due to my father who had helped raise money so my mom could open it in the first place. She never took it as a joke at first, but she shortly did after realizing what The Devilry was truly up to. Since then she divorced him for his actions but somehow lost the battle to sue his company when they were trying to expose the world to the different types of devils and what they can do, along with all things supernatural as before everyone believed it was a myth.

Though what The Devilry has been doing was giving people the chance to give up their bad deeds and have someone else do it for them. Just so they don't feel the guilt inside, and throughout the years it gained popularity. It just goes to show how my father, who has never shown any guilt or even a single ounce of care in his body can teach more people that it is okay to be like that. After all, the only reason I recall being named after him was just so he could hide his criminal status in the business and just put the blame on me.

Three Years Later..
