The Fate of Two

We had it going pretty well. Things were so normal for once; tossing the object freely into the air as it soared high and low. I being new to this "frisbee" game was absolutely terrible at it. The guys just laughed and joked about my ridiculous catches and throws. It kind of sucked, but at least I was enjoying something for the first time, engaging in this new activity. I was able to learn the identities and personalities of the group. For whatever reason I can easily tap into their entire lives, seeing every memory; except for the ones far too... uncomfortable to look at. John was part of the high's schools football team, him being the captain of the team; and Erik was also a part of it too. Both were close friends ever since they were just kids. The girl whose hair was tied into a ponytail, was named Alissa Mane. Her backstory's pretty normal just like everyone, but I refused to look at the flaws and dark secrets she kept. Alissa was talented, smart, also as athletic as her two male friends, and was very friendly towards the people around her. I liked her a lot for that.

"Hey, guys! I gotta leave, so I'll check you out tomorrow in school." A girl by the name of Jessie Lee said standing up to her feet, giving a wave of goodbye as she left the area. Eventually, the rest followed along as it had been an hour, and the sun was already slowly starting to set.

"Hey, nice meeting you again!" Erik said as he patted my back with a smile. I smiled back as I watched the rest of them slowly leave the field and were all finally out of distance.

It felt so refreshing to be part of their little activity and to know their memories and past relations. Now I know this sounds like an invasion of their personal lives, but I just couldn't help it. At least I didn't peak into all of it, so that's fair enough. Sooner or later I'll meet one of them again. I turned around to see the sky's turning into a hue of orange and blue with the sky seemingly growing darker. It's getting late and almost everyone here is gone. I left the area, taking the path down to the center of the park where it was close the entrance gate. Passing the antique looking fountain and the row of trees that stood at both sides of the brick path leading to the gate, I thought of another plan. I have no idea where I could stay; though, no one's definitely allowing a stranger like me to just be invited to their house. I was going to create a separate pocket-dimension of my own.

As I was out of the park and into town. I went to a nearby phone booth to do a little business. Once I entered, I close the glass door behind me and used my psychic abilities to allow my vision to wander every lane, building, and sites. This took a while and people passing by the phone booth must've been curious about some kid just standing idly and staring into nothingness; however, I could care less about that. Now the following goes for what I've found out about this place: in the most obvious of sense this is a town with a population of at least three-thousand residents, there's an elementary school along with a high-school, multiple convenience stores, a bakery and the small local town businesses, and houses (obviously). The town was called, "Granville" a place that was not too far from the nearest city but the town was surrounded by woodland; though there were other towns nearby just miles away. I quickly left the phone booth and headed down the road to find the more secluded area of the town. I took a left turn on the sidewalk moving a few yards straight, then taking a right over the road, and then down the sidewalk again where I passed a flower shop and other smaller stores heading forward to find that alleyway. It took a lot of left and right turns, where I encountered the many folks who were going by their business. I was cautious about who to trust, but in retrospect, I was too easily persuaded by a bunch of teens who I just met. That doesn't matter at least I know who they actually are, no one can hide a secret from me.

Finally, after an hours stroll, I stopped in between two old run-down buildings creating an alleyway. An area where a few people would normally pass by, lest they even care. I made way down the narrow alleyway where the walls were covered with a few graffiti with littered trash and junk laying around. The sun was finally fading away as the shadows covered the alleyway and soon darkness would befall the town. There was a wall at the end of the alleyway that marked a dead-end path; close to it, however, was a single metal door. I twisted the handle before opening it. A smile formed on my face, for in front of me wasn't a dark room but instead what was inside was a wide field of grass with a crystal clear lake and setting sun, where the stars dangled above the ever-changing color of the blue sky that was now turning darker to reveal the magnificence of space. The strong wind gushed past my face and I entered my new home, for now.
