Freedom and Beyond
Wiping off my tears I took deep breaths; suddenly without warning a sharp surge of throbbing pain struck my brain. I bent over and puked out vomit, this feeling was so terrible. I thought it was probably because of the incident, and it somehow had a long-lasting effect on my health. I spit out the bits of digested fluids from my mouth before wiping it off. The headache was short; though, it was as bad as getting struck in the head by sledgehammer.
"Alright, keep this together now." I said to myself before straightening up, and then took a jog to the forest and away from the facility. My legs were still a bit too numb, but moving them would change that.
The forest was probably two kilometers away (to say the least), if I could use my teleportation again it would save me tons of energy. I stopped sprinting after a couple of yards away from my location; I lowered my body down: positioning myself like some athletic runner preparing for a race. My head faces directly towards the forest. With all my might my whole body went in for a dash, my legs forced itself to take great strides and I sprinted fast. In just ten meters of running I blinked.
"KAATHUUUMMM!!"
A great force shook out of nowhere when I appeared with my eyelids open. I felt a strong wind push against me, my feet did not feel the touch of grass, wood, or anything; I was literally flung uncontrollably by the teleportation. An adrenaline rush added with the shock filled me as I was helplessly thrown by force without knowing how far I teleported.
"CRASH!"
Twigs and fallen leaves met the force of my body finally landing and rolling down to the ground. I literally flew thirty feet from where I reappeared. Friction and gravity helped ceased me from rolling any further. I stood up with dirt and small bits of wood prickling through my skin. The hospital gown I wore was in tatters with a few small torn pieces of cloth. I was back laying in the ground injured by the collision, trying to push myself up again. I stretch out my arms to find loads of scars that were covered in blotches of blood, and worse of all, my right arm was broken. I was horrified to find it hanging uselessly with a large black bump near my fractured bone. The pain was immense this time and I was wondering if things could get any worse than that. I scream in pain and horror, as I carefully sat down to rest myself in the ground. Then suddenly I felt a sudden tingle in my open wounds. I looked at my injuries to find them healing itself. My cells can regenerate torn tissues and skin; basically healing any form injuries.
Blood that was pouring out from my scars slowly flowed its way back inside the wounds while flesh started to stretch and cover up the gaps in between; the layer of the skin was covering them up revealing a new patch of skin. A snapping sound filled my ear as the fractured bone moved inside my arm, fixing every bit of bone inside. The black bump that was there now shrink back to a smooth area of my arm. I raise my right arm high up into the sky and it was all back to normal again. The regeneration took only less than a minute to finish up. I felt so alive again and was able to rise up feeling refreshed. I was so amazed by this, and even if the people back in the facility did some sick amputation just to experiment on me (though I don't have any memory of this thanks to the amnesia) I was so glad I had such an ability. It gave me reassurance that everything will be fine.
