Whenever I go away

To my trash-filled residence

Where I sleep, eat, and stay

And though you come and go

Swimming where you please

I have to stay here wondering

If I'll ever see my babies

I wonder if I can

See them alive and well

But that'll be impossible

With the trash in where I dwell

If only you knew

How much impact you bring

When you and your family

Throw things like rings

If only you knew

How much pain you let

Into all of our lives

Until we all are dead

You humans need to stop

You need to care more

What good is the ocean

When a dump is what it's for?

I know you'll say "No way!"

I know that you'll object

You'll say that you conserve

But I'm not finished yet

It takes way more than one

To change the world, you see

And if we work together

We'll all help you and me

Please help us conserve

Please show us that you care

Please show us that you know

What's going on up there

What goes on at land

Changes what goes on at sea

It affects all of us

Not only you and me

In 5 years it's drenched

With trash and loads of junk

And in 50 years

There'll be no more of us

So if you truly think

That we matter too

Then take more charge in what you do
