bae jinyoung dragged his fatigue torso to school,yawning. it was his first time working at the convenient store during midnight hours and it sure was tiring as hell.he regretted shifting work time with jisung.

"jinyoung-ah,don't think too much,maybe he's just a friend."minhyun,his cousin patted the lad's shoulder while walking together,"you know,it's better if you focus on your studies,or else your dad might make you move back with them."

jinyoung sighed,not knowing what to reply,he approved minhyun's objective opinion,but deep inside he was unable to rid of the thoughts of her,though he didn't even know her name.

it was a rainy day,he couldn't withstand the atmosphere in the library so he reached out for some fresh air,but the suffocating humidity outdoor bothered him even more.

a girl around his age trotted towards his direction,not until she fixed a questioning look at him did he notice he was staring a bit too intense.jinyoung awkwardly drifted his attention away.

haerim felt his strong desire to talk and scanned the boy from head to toe,"so uhm... you need an umbrella?"

jinyoung widened his eyes like a flabbergasted rabbit,"how do you know!I mean,can I borrow yours?"

haerim returned a svelte smile,"I'll be stuck in the library for hours so I guess you can,the rain doesn't seem to last long."

grinning immensely,he thanked the girl for lending him her belonging.a few steps under the pouring rain,he suddenly realized he forgot to ask her name.he looked back but she was already gone.

jinyoung shrugged it off ,called jihoon and woojin for a game in a cyber cafe as he planned beforehand. by the time he noticed the darkened sky,separating ways with the two parks,the heavy rain scarcely decreased.

"23:37...what if she's still there?" jinyoung muttered,accelerating his speed towards the library.

meanwhile,haerim was utterly out of energy after hours of studies and waiting for the rain to cease,mind already drifted to dream land on the couch.

"...hey,hey-wake up..." she heard someone slightly tapped her shoulder and a magnified face popped into her sight.

"...oh it's you."she blinked a few times.

"i came to see if you left..." he blocked his face with the folded umbrella.her profile was rather adorable compared to the cold look beforehand.

for a moment of reticent,they simultaneously glanced at the non-stop rainfall.

"...i guess I'll be walking you home then." jinyoung felt his small face heating up and scratched his nape.

haerim,on the other hand, let out a soft chuckle,"nah,I should be walking you home,because that's my umbrella."

"..ah-aight sure."

he mumbled under his breath while gripping to the umbrella tighter,he gestured haerim to stand aside,shoulder to shoulder.

for the first time,jinyoung wished the path back home was more distant,so that he could cherish the concurrent company just a little longer,

along with his unbridled heartbeat.
