Prologue
So let me tell you, I've had this idea for a LONG time. I had two alternate titles for it. The first one I had was 'Long time no see' and the second one was 'I never knew'. But you already know what happened in the future.
So a quick thank you to MasterofCupcakes and beep24 for writing good stories to match these good titles!
Anyways, this is a VERY short prologue, so consider it as more of a teaser.
Also, I have decided to write the prologue in Third POV for extra mystery, but the rest of the story will be in First POV.
Hope you like it!
Third POV
One Year Ago
She waited at the bus station, looking up at the rainy, night sky through the transparent ceiling.
She fiddled with her luggage's handle, swinging it back and forth along with the rest of her bags.
As she waited on the iron seat, her face was blank. Even then, infinite thoughts filled her mind.
She watched every car go by in hopes of that darned bus to finally arrive. After almost half an hour, she sighed, sinking into her seat.
The peaceful silence was quickly interrupted once lightning struck somewhere near, making a car alarm go off. But that wasn't the only thing that worried her.
The figure came running towards her, soaking wet as its blue eyes only shone brighter in the storm.
She looked up at him with a knowing look, but didn't dare to keep eye contact.
Although raindrops were falling on his face, the tears welling up in eyes were far from unnoticeable.
"You broke his heart," he said with a shaky voice. "Why?"
She stayed silent. It was all too complicated to explain, that was the one thing she knew.
"What, are you just going to keep dating everyone on the team? You already broke up with two of us," he ranted.
"Jay—"
"Don't Jay me! First you break up with Lloyd and now with Cole? Who's next, Zane? Don't you dare even come close to him, he already has a girlfriend—"
"Jay—"
"I just don't get it! What, do you have to date every guy you meet?" he kept ranting.
Her eyes started welling up. "Stop—"
"You know, if you want to date someone else, then fine! Just stay far away from us," he said. "You already let everyone else get dragged into your relationship drama, but I'm not falling for it."
She looked at the ground when the bus' horn sounded in the distance.
He bit his lip. "Just go away!" he spat out, finally let tears roll down his cheeks.
And so she did.
She got up, picked up her luggage and walked up the bus' stairs.
His eyes widened, his head shaking quickly. "Wait—no! I didn't actually mean it!" he yelled after her. "I didn't mean to— I'm sorry!" He ran after the bus as it started moving.
"Nya!" was the last thing she heard before the doors closed.
Taking a shaky breath, she walked to her seat in the very back.
Just before she could plug in her headphones, she heard another voice.
"Tough day, huh?"
She wiped her teary eyes, turning around to face the young man beside her.
She smiled a little. "Kinda."
"Yeah, me too," he said. "Wanna talk about it?"
She shook her head.
"Understandable," he said, looking at her phone. "I like the Royal Blacksmiths too. Wanna listen together?"
Not having much else to do, she nodded.
"Sweet," he said, offering his hand. "What's your name?"
"Nya," she shook it firmly.
"Pretty name," he said.
"Yours?" she asked.
He took out his headphones, plugging them in.
"Morro."
