Chapter 7
The next few days were spent pacing restlessly in cabin three. Chiron wouldn't let anyone outside, no matter how old they were. We weren't even allowed to shower. (Note to all you Percy lovers out there: Do not spend time near him after he hasn't showered for more than two days. There is not enough soap in the world.)
Meals were brought to our cabins by not-so-helpful satyrs and dryads. Whenever we asked what was happening, we got snapped at and shunned. Activities were cancelled, so there was no capture the flag. The Romans were spending time with their distant brothers and sisters, though Hazel was alone in the Hades cabin, and Reyna was actually living in the Big House.
One day, while Percy stared out the window and I lounged in my bunk reading a book, Chiron stopped by. Despite the fact that the guy had been alive for like, a billion years, he looked only thirty. At least, usually. Today, his face was lined and looked at least ten years older.
"Percy," He said quietly. "I'm speaking to all the senior campers, and I think you might want to come along." Percy looked up and grinned. "Yes! I can finally get out of here!" He said excitedly. "Bring your weapon, and follow me. I'm collecting all of them." Chiron grunted.
"Hey!" I yelled before they walked out the door. Percy spun on his heal and Chiron looked over his shoulder. "What?" Percy asked. I glared at him. "Can I come too?" I questioned Chiron hopefully. Chiron shook his head. "I'm afraid you can't, Erica." He replied, sounding sympathetic.
Percy grinned triumphantly at me before turning back around and following Chiron out the door. I sighed and went back to reading my book.

An hour later, Percy came back through the door, looking miserable and slightly ruffled. "How'd it go?" I asked him, not looking up from my book. "It sucked." He replied blandly. I snorted. "Well that's nice. What sucked the most?"
"The forest." Percy climbed the bunk ladder as he spoke. "What happened to it?" I sat up in my bunk and peered at Percy. "It's dying." He said unhappily. "The dryads aren't happy, and neither are the satyrs, but there's nothing they can do. We can't do anything either. It's being poisoned, and we don't know by what."
I sighed heavily and went back to reading my book. "Any other news?" I asked. I felt a bump as Percy kicked the ladder. "Besides the fact that Leo and a bunch of other Hephaestus campers are rigging the forest, not really."
We sunk into a grim silence, each of us lost in our own thoughts. I looked into the mirror on my bed post. My black hair was tangled and falling out of the careless ponytail I had thrown it into. My face, though still pale and freckly, had changed in its own way. My dark blue-green eyes were dull, sunken, and kind of terrifying.
As I let myself fall into the terrible thoughts that pressed the back of my mind, I realized that the fountain in the corner was glowing. "Uh, Percy?" I called nervously. Percy looked down at me, and I pointed at the fountain. His eyes widened and he jumped off the bed.
"Iris Message." Percy explained as I got up and followed him over to the fountain. "I don't know who it's from though. No other cabin has water connection..."
"Who said its from a cabin?" I retorted. "What if it's from Olympus?" "Erica, I seriously doubt we're getting an Iris Message from Olympu-"
"Percy Jackson?" A voice echoed from the fountain. Percy turned. "Uh, yes?"
The Iris Message was blurry and dark. I had to idea who was speaking, and it was honestly freaking me out. "Percy, how do you hang it up?" I asked fearfully. Percy stared at me. "Erica...let me listen to this. It could be important."
"Percy, what're you-"
"PERSEUS JACKSON!"
Shoot. They used his whole name.
Percy turned and looked at the fountain. "What?" He asked. An evil laugh (sure, keep talking Percy. Don't trust your obviously smarter sister) responded to this.
"Listen carefully. You camp is being destroyed from the inside because of you. We are watching. We are coming for you. We will not hesitate to kill to get to you. Your sister will come first. We are watching your mother and step-father. We know how to hurt them. We know how to hurt you. Don't make us do this. Deliever yourself. Thank you for listening."
This Iris Message disappeared. Percy and I stood there, staring dumbfounded at the now peaceful fountain.
"Yeah...that's not terrifying at all." Percy muttered. I stared at him. "I swear to Zeus-"
Thunder rumbled in the distance.
"-that if you go and 'deliver yourself'-" I made air quotes. "I will murder you." Percy laughed. "I know they're just trying to spite me." He said, attempting a very brave grin. He couldn't fool me. He was scared. I hugged Percy tightly. "I'm sure Sally and Paul will be fine." I told him quietly.
"What about you?" Percy asked me, his voice cracking. I felt a tear hit the top of my head. He was so much taller, stronger, older than me...and yet I was the one comforting him. "Don't worry about me." I said, smirking into his shirt. "I'm no daisy."

That night, at dinner, the dryads and satyrs stopped by as usual. Except this time, we got a little surprise.
"GROVER!" Percy and I yelped. Grover the satyr grinned at us. "Hey guys!" He said, giving each of us hugs. "I finally got your cabin! They keep putting me in Ares."
Percy sucked in a breath. "How's it smell in there, buddy?" He asked Grover did his cute little goat bleat. "Blahahaha! Horrible!"
Percy and I laughed. We ate our dinner quickly, and Percy suddenly became very serious. "Grover I need to tell you something." He said.
