Chapter 10

A/N: Okay, I'm going to say it again...alyssa_coyle you are the best freaking person on the planet! Thanks for keeping me going! (Hey, you guys should really check out her stories, especially if you love the Maze Runner!)

"What did we ever do to you?" Percy snapped at Arc. Arc laughed harshly. "You destroyed me." He said quietly. "I sided with Kronos, young demigods. And because you destroyed him, he destroyed me."

"Idiot!" I yelled at him. "That's your fault not ours! You sided with Kronos in the first place!"

"Plus, that is so forever ago." Percy said. "That war is way out of date." Right...he talks about a war like a piece of clothing that went out of date last year.

Arc hissed. (Yes, he hissed. Like a snake.) "Foolish children! If you wouldn't have beaten Kronos, I wouldn't be forced to live like a filthy human!"

"If we hadn't beaten Kronos, you would have been a filthy servant!" Percy snapped. "LIES!" Arc screamed. He lurched at Percy and pushed him over. Percy gasped.

"DON'T YOU TOUCH MY BROTHER, YOU FILTHY-" I refuse to include the word that followed that sentence in my story. I brought my dagger down on Arc's back, but he was too quick for me. He slapped me away like a bug and where he touched my skin burned.

I laid on the ground for a moment, shaking like I had just been stabbed by a poison knife.

Percy was suddenly back on his feet. Riptide was in full sword mode in his hand. "Don't you ever, ever touch my sister you jerk!" He moved Riptide in a slashing motion. Arc moved his hand and blocked it on sight.

Percy's eyes widened as Arc slapped him away. Percy dropped to the ground, clutching his chest. "What did you do to him, you monster?" I whispered.

Arc loomed over me, his eyes glittering savagely. "My touch is poison to any god or half-god who touches me. I could kill you right now..." He said, listing his hand above my chest. "But I won't."

With that, Arc turned and melted into the trees, leaving every demigod staring after him in stunned silence. Percy groaned on the ground. Chiron sighed. "Okay, take all injured to the infirmary. I'll handle Percy."

I watched as Percy was carried away by Chiron, and suddenly I couldn't take it anymore. Were the gods so cruel that they had to take away every last person I loved? Not even checking to see who was hurt, dying, or dead, I ran back to cabin three and buried myself under the covers of my bunk.

I didn't get out of bed the next day until someone came pounding on my door. "ERICA!" Annabeth's voice yelled. I sighed and rolled over in bed. "GO AWAY ANNABETH!" I screamed back. Annabeth stopped pounding on my door. For a second, I thought she had gone away.

That was before my door blew up.

"Thanks, Leo!" Annabeth shouted over her shoulder as she walked through the smoking rubble. Count on demigods to take knocking down someone's door to the next level.

I faced the wall and pretended to be asleep. My bed rocked as Annabeth sat down on the edge of it and put a hand on my shoulder. "You want to come with me to visit Percy?" She asked quietly. I sighed again and flipped myself over. "I don't know. Will it make me more depressed than I already am?" I muttered. Annabeth smiled sadly. "I don't think it will."

She got up and walked out the "door". "I'll be waiting outside." She said. I nodded and Annabeth walked outside. Then, I heaved myself out of bed and got dressed. I didn't bother with my hair, I just put it up into a sloppy ponytail.

There were more people outside today, though I wasn't sure how the circumstances had changed. Nothing was exactly organized, there didn't seem to be any classes going on. Most people were patrolling the edges of the forest, though a few were playing volleyball or just sitting in the grass.

Annabeth lead me to the infirmary. I was surprised to see how empty it was. I had kind of expected more people to be injured. (No, I didn't underestimate my fellow campers...I just...um...CUT!)

I couldn't help myself, and I ended up scanning the bunks for Nico. "He's not here." I said, surprised. Annabeth smiled a little. "Left this morning." She murmured quietly. For some reason she seemed to know that I was talking about Nico.

Annabeth lead me behind the curtain that surrounded Percy's bed. "Hey Seaweed Brain." She said softly. Percy opened his eyes and smiled. "Hey, Wise Girl." He muttered. "Are you okay?" I asked. Percy looked at me. "Never been better, Princess. I'll live, I've handled worse."

I laughed and felt a tear snake its way down my face. "Thank the gods." I said quietly. Annabeth sat down beside Percy's bed, and I figured I should give them some space. Plus, I had someone I wanted to see.

I banged on the door of the Hades cabin. "NICO!" I yelled. "NICO ARE YOU IN THERE!?" Yes, I sounded desperate. Because I was. Whoa, where'd I get that crazy idea? (Note my high sarcasm levels).

The door opened and I was face to face with...
Hazel.

"Hi Hazel." I said. "Is Nico in there?" "Shouldn't he be in the infirmary?" Hazel asked. I grinned. "Not anymore. He got out this morning."

Hazel's eyes glowed like an excited child's. "Well, he's not in here, but I'll help you find him." Though she kept her voice calm, she was bouncing on the balls of her feet, and I could tell she was nervous. She hadn't seen her brother in a long time.

Hazel and I ran through camp calling for Nico. I finally suggested that we check in the Big House, because he might be having a meeting with Chiron.

I was greeted by an unpleasant surprise.

Reyna and Nico were sitting together on the couch. Reyna had her arms around Nico. Hazel coughed loudly. Nico looked over Reyna's shoulder and caught my eye. "Erica?" He asked. I turned and walked out of the Big House, suddenly not so sure I wanted to see Nico anymore.

A/N: So, anyone reading this story, do you ship Erico? Let me know. (Even though your opinion really doesn't matter that much) *COUGH COUGH*

Kidding. Don't worry. Your opinion matters. (But I'm the author, so I make the decisions XD)
