One finds out

In front of May, laid a dead body and a very familiar classmate with blood dripping from his mouth. Her eyes widen as she saw the blood dripping from his fangs. She took a few steps back, shivering in fear. For her, everything around her blurred and the whole world was revolving around her. Her legs felt weak, she collapsed on the ground panting.

The classmate, a boy with purple hair, glanced at her. Bloodthirst in his eyes, his nerves were visible through his neck. May's eyes focused on his bloody hands, holding the heart of his victim. May felt like puking. Every single cell of her body was shaking in fear. Her head swirled. She wanted to scream and die or lose consciousness. She didn't want to die a painful death.

The boy, stepped into light. Her eyes widens as she tried to shop herself from shaking.

T-The B-b-boys.... The-They're demons!!

She suddenly noticed grey dust flying. She looked behind Paul, seeing a werewolf on ground, transforming into another of her classmate, whose name she didn't know. He turned into ashes, which rose in the air in the circular motion, similar to a thin storm. Those rose in the sky, forming a wolf when the dust touched the moonlight. May couldn't believe her senses. Those dusts, howled before completely vanishing.

Her breaths felt heavy as her chest rose and fall hastily. Her eyes traveled back to Paul. Whose back was bent, his hands on the road and eyes piercing into May's. May felt like screaming, she parted her lips, ready to release all her fears in the scream. But Paul suddenly came right in front of her, holding her shoulders.

"D-D-D-don't-" he tried to speak. Paul's fangs were barely shrinking. But It was coming back when Paul looked at May's neck. May looked over her shoulder, terrified. The heart.... It fell on her laps as blood scattered all over her dress. She screamed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" She pushed Paul away from herself as she rose to her shaky feet and ran. Paul clenched his fist as his forehead ache. He tried not to lose control.

"I d-d-don't want to h-h-hurt y-you." He stammered in pain. The fangs grew. He lost control as a sinister look appeared on his face.

"Pathetic, running away from your death. I can smell the blood on you. I am preying on you tonight, May. I'll hunt you-"He grinned as he sprinted "Like an animal! You can't run away from me May."

Tears started flowing from her eyes. Her heart beat raced. She could feel him nearby. She heard a supersonic wind nearby, stopping her in the way. Her breaths didn't steady, she was about to scream when someone put a hand on her mouth and disappeared into darkness.

"I can hear your heartbeats, beating fast. Begging to be eaten by me. I can hear you breathing. I can hear your tears and sweats hit the ground May. You can hide, but can't escape me." Paul said as he reached the spot where May was a mere seconds ago. He smelled the air.

"I can smell the perfume on you. I can smell the delicious blood on your clothes."

May tried to steady her breath, in front of her, was another of the boys. His green eyes observed her movement, his fingers trembled in pain and excitement.

"I don't want to hurt you." Drew spoke as he held May's hand.

"Your safe here with me." he said as squeeze her hand lightly. May's eyes travelled to his lips, where a very small fangs were present.

"Y-y-your f-fangs."She stammered. They both were at top of a tree nearby Paul.

"I can hear you May." Paul growled. May was about to scream, but Drew put his hand on her, pushed her against the tree, another of his hand slammed the surface near her face. Her eyes widen, as she let out a muffled scream. Drew's eyes twitched as his fangs grew. May let out a muffled sobs as tears flow down her cheeks.

"D-D-don't.... D-d-ont you dare scream!" Drew yelled. The leaves around them rustled and within a second, they both were on the ground, Paul on top of him. He immediately bite May's neck, his fangs piercing into her feeble self. She let out a scream. Drew immediately pushed Paul away from May. His fangs grew, but then shrank. He couldn't let himself lose control.

"Get a grip Paul." Drew screamed at his friend. May put a hand on her neck, it was paining badly. She tried to get up and go for it. But Drew's yell stopped her. "YOUR SAFE HERE MAY!DON'T RUN! THERE ARE OTHER HUNTERS WHO MIGHT KILL YOU!"

"Oh and what are you going to do Drew? She will die tonight. Either by my fangs, or someone else. Or worse, someone's claws. She has seen too much. She is now a danger to our kind! We have to kill her NOW! I'll let her become a part of your meal too." Paul spoke smirking.

Poor May just stood there, terrified and trembling.

"Let me put her out of her misery Drew, she is suffering. I promise to make it quick" he sang in a sing song.

"I won't let you even lay a finger on her." Drew growled as he punched Paul. A Redish- Black blood oozed out from Paul's jaw. May gasped. Drew gulped, but didn't let his fear be seen on his face.

"Oh now you've done it."He growled before pouncing on Drew.

May couldn't bear to see the fight so she closed her eyes, praying that some miracle would stop them.

"What the hell is happening here!?" Ash came in, with his eyes wide. May opened hers, relieved. Within a flash of a second, someone was behind her, lifted her hand off her neck.

"It seems like Paul lost control today. She has been bitten." The voice behind spoke. May froze.

"Don't worry. We're vegetarians." Gary said grinning as he came in front of her, before suddenly taking Paul off Drew.

"Take care of the girl Ash." He commanded as he struggled with Paul. Drew had blackish red blood all over his face. Paul was merely bruised.

"Let me first wipe the blood off you." Ash said as he took off his handkerchief and took the organ that was attached at May's dress, ate it in front of her, and licked his lips.

"You need a pair of clothes. I'll be back." He said before vanishing within thin air. May was traumatized. She never felt this afraid her whole life. Gary managed to get Paul off Drew.

"That idiot left you alone? Seriously? HOW DUMB IS HE!" Gary yelled as he struggled to keep Paul off Drew.

"We have to take you away from him. Gary, try to get Paul back in control, while I'll take May somewhere safe." Drew barely managed to speak. He wiped off the blood on him, drank it and then picked May up bridal style. He vanished within thin air. Jumping between Trees with her. May looked at his wounds, feeling guilty that he got hurt because of her. There was another feeling that stirred inside her. She looked at Drew's placid yet focused face. The moonlight shine was bright tonight, reflecting on his charismatic features that she never noticed. His green hair swayed with the wind. She felt safe in his arms. It felt like she was flying. Drew glanced at her, his emerald eyes locked with her sapphire. That moment, where they were in the sky, the moon behind Drew, their eyes locked, took their breath away. For a mere seconds before Drew looked at the path and continued. She tighten her grip around his neck, bringing her face near his as she looked down. Seeing herself at such a height, scared and yet amazed her. Drew glanced at her. He could her heart pace going back to normal, she stopped shivering in fear, her breaths were normal. Her hair untied cause of the speed they were going. He felt comfortable with her by his side. Her sapphire eyes shine in the moonlight as it reflected the earth, the trees, its leaves flashing on her pupils.

Drew internally sighed dreamily, before getting focused on her safety.

Whereas on the other hand, Ash had reached May's room. He heard one of the girls ask about May's whereabouts. Deciding on interrupting their future plans on finding her, he knocked on their door. Misty opened it. Her eyes widen with surprise before it got filled with contempt.

"What is it?" she spat. Ash glanced at her, a bit hurt by her tone.

"May told me to let y'all know she is staying over at some of her friends, so will catch up with you later tomorrow." He said. The moment Misty blinked her eyes, he speed inside their room, took out May's clothes and hid it behind him before reappearing in front of Misty.

"You can confirm her by messaging or calling her later. She doesn't want to be disturbed for half an hour perhaps." He spoke before walking off.

"HEY COME BACK!" Misty yelled as she came out of her room and ran after him. But the moment she was close to him, her eyes widen. He disappeared.

"But, he was right there." She muttered under her breath.

"Mist?" Dawn called as she peeped outside the door "who was it? And why you yelled and ran?" she asked.

"Nothing." Misty murmured under her breath. "It was one of those boys. Ash. He said May is with some other friends of hers. Won't be back tonight." She said dubiously.

"Y'all do you think that's strange? I mean May doesn't have friends here other than us." Leaf pointed out.

"Exactly." Dawn agreed.

"Do you think we should check on her?" Misty asked.

"With all the things happening in the city, I don't think its safe to assume that she'll be fine." Leaf said. Misty nodded in agreement. "We should go searching out for her. It's dangerous for her to stay out at this time."

But Dawn disagreed. "I don't think so. She is one of us. She'll be fine! Besides, after today's fight, it's quite great if she stayed over with some other friends of hers. Maybe they're at this school too? And maybe she could gather about the mystery too!" Dawn exclaimed in delight. Misty and Leaf looked at down. "I am calling her." They both said, already dialing their friend's number. Dawn groaned.

"She doesn't want to be disturb for half an hour guys! Just drop a mess- " " The number you're calling is switched off. Please try again later." Both their phones interrupted Dawn midways.

"Alright. Now I am worried." Dawn confessed. Before going out of the room.

"Hey, she just wants to have some alone time." Leaf remarked, stopping Dawn in mid tracks. "We'll contact her after half an hour." she added.

"No! What if she is in trouble!?" Misty exclaimed. "We're going out to find her." She said determined.

"No we're not! She wants some alone time!" Leaf retorted.

"What if she doesn't want to be alone? What if Ash is lying?"

"Why would he be lying to us? BESIDES why can't you respect our alone time Misty!"

"We DON'T KNOW HIM! HE CAN'T BE TRUSTED! And I do respect our alone time! Which is why she should have her alone time with US!"

"YOU DON'T GET IT DO YOU!? YOU DON'T GET HOW DOMINATING YOU'RE AT THIS MOMENT!! YOU'RE NOT OUR MOTHER MISTY! STOP ACTING LIKE ONE! FOR HEAVEN SAKE! STOP BEING SO SELFISH! We all need some alone time dammit! Learn to leave us alone! Don't be such a bitch will ya! Don't act being over smart. You're not!!" Leaf yelled. Dawn and Misty were taken aback. Misty tried to not cry. Leaf was emotionally overwhelmed. They both looked away. Dawn sighed.

"Let's just call it a night. We'll call her later." she said feebly. All girls felt mentally and emotionally drained.

******************

Drew took May out in a haunted castle. No one was home. The gates opened on their own with a creak. The castle's door opened by itself. The spider webs spread across the corners of the hall. Objects and furniture were old and ragged. Whenever moved, they made a creepy and unpleasant sound to one's ear. The rooms were dimly lit by old fashion candles handing on the ceilings and walls. It looked like a perfect spot for Halloween. Drew took May upstairs. The stairs made lot of squeaky noise. May even heard a rat running down the stairs.

Drew laid May on the bed. Their eyes met as they stared at each other. May could feel herself wanting to drown in those emerald eyes. Suddenly, her mark started to sting a bit. She had completely forgot about it.

"The mark hurts?" Drew asked as he took a few steps back from her.

"Yeah..." she trailed as her fingertips touched her vulnerable spot.

"I am sorry you'ad to go through such an experience." He apologized as he went near the cupboards, searching for something. May was silent the whole time that he spent looking for something. She observed his movements as a doubt occurred in her mind.

He, too, is a vampire. Then why did he save her? Why did they save her? What did they mean when they said Paul lost control? And of all, what was she feeling? Why is she feeling attracted towards Drew?

May looked down. The mystery. They're the main part of it aren't they? They're the reason of murders in the city. They're the reason why people are dying.... But if so then why did they save her from Paul? And Who was the one who Paul killed?

"Here." Drew walked near May. As he put a small copper vessel besides her. "Use the water droplets inside it. Sprinkle only three water drops on the mark. It would stop the pain. But the mark will vanish just for sometime. It'll come back."

"Thanks..." Drew looked at May. She looked up at him and caught him staring. Drew didn't look away while May did, blushing.

"Um.... Your wounds." She asked.

"I can't heal them. I can't touch the V healer."

"V healer?"

"Doesn't matter."

"It does! Can I touch it?" May asked. Drew's eyes widen. "Yeah... it's in you."

"What?"

Silence.

"WAIT WHAT!?"

"O blood type are natural V healers. Vampires feed on human blood for their survival. If they are devoid of them, they would need to drink O blood type so that the nourishment could... well... they could be recovered and nourished. If they're hurt, O blood type would save em." Drew looked at the Moon while explaining it.

That left May in a dilemma. Drew saved her life. And she wants to return the favor. But of course, those wounds aren't near too severe that she'll let her blood be drunk. Her mind suddenly betrayed her, as it started imagining Drew, laying soft kisses on her neck. How would it feel?

STOP IT

"So is it compulsion for you to drink it?"

"Wounds like these... They'll heal overtime. But just being in contact with O blood type oughta recover it. Bu-" "You can use my blood." May blurted out. Drew looked at May, amused and surprised. A small smirk curled up his lips.

"Are you sure." he said seductively as he put both his hands besides May. May's face heat up and her heart began to beat faster. She noticed how close their faces were.

"Y-yes" she breath out, bit her lower lip. Drew slowly brought his face closer and closer to May's neck.

Before bursting out laughing.

"Wh-What!" May exclaimed flustered.

"Y-your face! You should have seen the look on your face!"

May slowly pouted.

"You're such a airhead. I can't touch the V healer because I am not allowed. We have it in store. I don't need to drink your blood for healing. In fact. Watch this." Drew chuckled before stepping out in the moonlight. Chanting some spell.

"The Moonlight Shines
The scars are mine
Bring me back
Once what was mine"

His wounds healed automatically. May's jaw dropped as Drew smirked. "So... you were just..."
"Playing with an airhead? Yeah june." Anger fueled inside her.

"Why you..." She growled under breath, took out the nearest weapon, the most common one in a bedroom, and threw it at Drew.

Drew lost his balance as he fell off. The pillow's mark on his face. May laughed at him. They both felt something inside them, as if they were complete. Joy and one more foreign emotion.

May soon took another pillow and started hitting Drew, with him defending with his pillow. Peals of laughter left them both as they playfully glared at each other.

"You're going down" they both exclaimed, charging at each other, secretly smiling inside while they smirked on the surface. The room was filled with life, as they both fought each other.

"You hit quite better than expected from a human girl"

"Oh yeah? Wish I could say the same for you"

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know. Maybe just-" May brought her face close to Drew's ear "I was expecting a lot more." Drew's ears turned red at the closeness. May then hit him on his face (With the pillow ofc.) Feathers soon were decorated on the floor as the pillow's life was drained and the teens (Or teen looking) threw it in a corner to wilt, laughing and they fall on the bed of feathers, smiling happily.

Just like All good things have to come to an end, so did the moment as there was a knock on the door.

"Drew? You there? Paul wants us all down with the girl. It's important." Ash voice rang in the house. May suddenly remembered how scared she felt when Paul was chasing her. She was vey hesitant to go down. But Drew helped her up, held her hand firmly, gave her a nod. She just forced a smile before walking down with him.

Paul and the others were downstairs waiting for them to arrive. May hid behind Drew when she saw Paul looking at her. The two boys sighed.

"There is nothing to worry about." Ash said comfortingly.

"You're safe." Drew added.

"As long as you don't speak a word to your girlfriends." Gary added rather bitterly.

Paul looked at Gary before heading few steps towards May.

"I apologize for the events that took place today. My intentions weren't to hurt you May." He could see the fear in her eyes " I believe, by now, you've known that we are all vampires."

She nodded.

"You have to know a few things about us. First, you're not to mention this to anyone else that you know that we're vampires." May looked on the ground, not tempted to listen to him.

"Second, it's for the safety of you and your friends. And third, Never. I repeat. Never scream in fear around a Vampire. They'll lose control on themselves and come after you. As you had seen it an hour ago." He commanded sternly. May couldn't believe the tone at which he could mention those, like she wasn't in danger, like he wasn't threatening to kill her a while ago.

"Also, don't go outside at night. Werewolves and Vampires might hunt you down. I killed one of them who were tailing you. The others probably ran away when they saw me killing him. And I am sorry for what I've done." He admitted sincerely.

".... What's going in this city?"

"We can assure you that we won't hurt you. We're vegetarian." Gary said grinning. May looked at him confused.

"Gary meant, we're one of the very few vampires who don't believe in hunting Humans and preying on them." Ash explained.

"Then how are you nourished?" May asked, tilting her head in confusion.

"Blood banks, hospitals, stealing blood from hospitals to survive." Drew spoke up, glancing at her. May looked down, the boys were living a cheap life, they couldn't even hunt for themselves. Instead, decide to steal food to survive.

"But not all vampires share our ideology." Gary continued.

"Werewolves, purely believe in hunting in groups, hypnotizing, luring them into relationships and traps to kill them. While Vampires, bite one, if they let her or him live, can use that person as fuel whenever they want, one click of a finger, and they're in front of you, hypnotized, ready to serve their blood. Not remembering what happens once those vampires drink it. Basically like parasites. But sometimes, when those vampires and werewolves who are friends, they work together. The vampires drink every single blood left in the body, while werewolves eat the organs. They just fight over who eats the heart." Ash explained. May felt sick hearing all of this.

"Our existence must be a secret to even your friends, May." Paul said, coming back to the main point.

"It's quite important that they don't know who we are. Otherwise, they're life can be danger. None of us can explain you more than this." Paul said. May was curious, but she dared not speak a word.

"Also, change your bloody clothes." Paul said. That's when May noticed small fangs on each of them, even Drew. "Ash." Paul called. Ash then gave May her clothes.

"It's not safe for you to leave, so you can stay here." Ash said chirpily.

"Are you crazy!? what if her friends find out?" Gary argued.

"I already told them that she'll meet them later tomorrow." Ash answered

"WHAT!?" Gary shouted.

"Relax Gary. Besides, I told them that she is at a friend's. Also, its not safe for her to leave alone at this hour. " Ash tried to reason with Gary.

"ASH! SHE ISN'T SAFE HERE TOO!" Gary argued. They continued arguing, while May just went and changed her clothes. The moment she came back, both the boys fired her with questions.

"MAY! You want to stay here with us tonight right?"

"May! don't be just a fool, we're vampires, you want to go back to your friends right?"

"May! We saved you, so that means you're staying! Right?"

"May! Paul lost control too! What if you had a nightmare and then screamed? Its not safe for you!"

"May, we'll still save you!"

"May! We ourselves could lose control too."

"MAY! ANSWER US!!" Both the boys yelled.

"SILENCE!" Paul yelled. Everyone was silent, and they looked at Paul, alarmed.

"Ash is right, it isn't safe for you to go out alone." He said. Ash did a fist bump in air with an excited "YES!" but then Paul continued "So Drew here is dropping you off." Ash stood there dumbfounded

"Sure Paul, No problem this side. C'mon January." Drew said as he took her hand and left.

"THAT'S SO NOT FAIR! I ALWAYS WANTED A SISTER HERE!!" Ash whined as the two left,

"SHE IS A HUMAN AND WE'RE VAMPIRES!"
"I DON'T CARE!"

"WELL YOU SHOULD!"

"How long are they going to argue like that?" May asked looking at Drew.

"For awhile." he replied, then held May bridal style before sprinting away.

Within half a minute, they reached May's room. May held the door knob.

"Thanks for today Drew." May said smiling.

"Wait May!" he stopped her from going in. "You aren't.... going to tell anyone of our existence are you?" he looked at her hopeful.

"I-..." she trailed. She didn't know what's was supposed to be done. Drew looked down, before vanishing. May sighed. She opened the door, only to find Drew inside her room. May yelped, her foot slipped. But luckily, Drew caught her. Their faces were inches close. A blush spread across May's face.

"Umm..." Drew held her up, and gave her a red rose.

"Thought I'll give you a parting gift, afterall, you won't want to see us Airhead." He said before vanishing.

"I-..... HEY! I'll be definitely seeing you!" She spoke out loud. But Drew wasn't in front of her. She sighed, before going to bed.

Little did she know, Vampires have quite the ears.
