You loved me

{ Bold words stand for Pidge's negative mind and Italics is Pidge thoughts.}

Third POV

He dragged her by her arm into the kitchen. "Honestly Katherine, I never would of expected you to hide from you own father." Kenneth's words sunk into Katherine. She didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be living.

"Answer me, when I'm talking to you!" He slapped her across her face. She felt the pain slowly slip through and maybe a few tears. Kenneth just simply rolled his eyes. "Hand." He reached his hand out for Katherine to grab, but she didn't. Maybe this would anger him, make him finally finish the job, but no, he just grabbed her hand himself. He took the knife and began making some cuts on her left arm. Not too deep, but deep enough.

"Please. Just end it, finish me. Kill me." Katherine whispered, too quiet for Kenneth to hear, but he definitely heard a mumble from her.

He paused from what he was previously doing. "What was that?" His expression wasn't anger or anything. He just stared at her plainly, really wondering what the young girl had said. Then he heard it, muffling sound of voices. He quickly cleaned up the knife.

"Go upstairs. Now!" He rushed her and Katherine hurriedly stood up and almost immediately fell after feeling the pain in her leg from her previous fight with her father. But nevertheless she trudged through the kitchen and up the stairs before her mother and brother could enter the door. Once she reached her room she collapsed and was met with pitch black.

Third POV

Pidge woke up, breathing heavily. The room around her was dark. Was this another dream? No couldn't be, Lance was right beside her. She scooted away from him to get a quick breathe. That was until she felt something, something in her left arm. She looked down at it, knowing exactly what she needed to do before it got worse. Pidge felt her breathing picking up as she stood up. She was in a medical room, there was bound to be a knife here somewhere.

Pidge frantically searched the counters, drawers, desks, anything, for a knife. Or a sharp object at least. Then she found it, by now she was hyperventilating, but that didn't matter to her. She pulled her sleeve up and grabbed the sharp object, whatever it was, she'd have to throw away. She pressed it against her skin before starting.

She kept going and going and couldn't find herself stopping anytime soon. It's been awhile since she's done this, before Lance had asked Allura out that one day.

She couldn't stop, she didn't want to stop. But soon she'd have to, she wouldn't want Lance waking up. She started to calm down and her heart was beating normally now.

"Pidge?" Lance's voice echoed through the room. I guess he's already awake, so much for that plan.  She froze. What was she going to do? What was she going to say? What could she say? For now she'd remain silent. "I know your still here. Hunk hasn't gotten the courage yet to fix the control panel, he thinks your going to lash out on him."

That was when she made a mistake, a terrible one in which she wished she could take back the moment she did it. She had dropped the sharp object onto the floor.

"What was that?" Lance was starting to worry. Pidge isn't a sleepwalker, is she? He has never seen her done or talk about it before in the Garrison. He finally made up his mind. He's going to turn on the lights, that would at least give him an advantage. Once he did he found Pidge, with her back towards him and her sleeve rolled up. Sleeve rolled up? That replayed in his mind again and again until he finally processed it.

He quickly made his way to her and in an instant, without warning, he spun her around so she could face him. Her eyes were flirmly closed shut, but his trailed down to her arm. He was terrified and unsure of what he'd find there. Then he saw them, the scars, the marks, the cuts.

"Why?" He whispered. "Why?!" He then yelled. "What the hell were you thinking?! Did you think you could just hide it away?!" By now her eyes were open, staring back at him. She could see it now. The anger, concern, and worry that was all over his face. "I thought we-." He paused. "Pidge, I thought we were over this." He whispered.

"I know, it's just."

"It's just what?!" He interrupted.

"You wouldn't understand."

"You keep saying that, but. You never tell so how am I supposed to understand?"

"Fine. I had a nightmare of my father. He was-He was cutting my arm. It was like I was reliving the whole thing. The feeling, the sensation all came rushing back. So when I woke up, I- I just had to. You have to understand. This calms me."

"But there's other ways to stop. Cutting won't do any good."

"I've tried! Nothing works."

"We'll just keep searching for more."

"I just want to be rid of this world. Voltron is the only thing keeping me alive."

"So, if we didn't go up to space?"

"I would've done it. That night where you found me on the roof right before we saved Shiro, I was going to do it then."

"No. I thought you were trying to find your dad and brother." Pidge flinched once the words came out. Back then she was full of hope for finding them.

"Yeah, I wanted to see if they were alive. One last time. Then you guys came, I was always upset that you guys stopped me, but now I can't thank you enough. We would've never found Voltron and Earth might've been taken over by now." She hiccuped. "But you can't blame me! I'm trying so hard! Fighting against my-." She cut herself off just at the last second. She didn't want Lance to think she was crazy.

"Your what?" He questioned, but she stayed silent. "C'mon Pidge. What is it? What happened?"

Look what you did. You got him worrying.

I didn't think he'd care. At least not about me

He doesn't.

But then. What about him crying the other day

You idiot. He doesn't actually love you

He doesn't?

Your worthless just like Kenneth said

Don't bring him up. Please

He said your a worthless piece of shit.

No. Stop!

And you believed him. Didn't you?

...

Answer me.

Yeah. Yeah I did.

"Pidge! Pidge!" Lance shook Pidge out of her trance.

"Hm?"

"You were crying and screaming Please No! What's wrong?"

"It's nothing." She brushed it off with a laugh, but soon laughs turned into sobs.

"Oh, Katie. What's going on?" Lance whispered as he pulled Pidge into a hug and she rested her head on his chest while she cried.

"What happened to you?"
