But now I know why
Third POV
"For the fifth time Pidge, your not supposed to eat it!"
"Then what are they here for?!"
"Your eyes!"
"I agree with Pidge, their better eating." Keith grabbed one of the cucumbers off his eye and into his mouth.
"Not you too Keith." Lance sighed as he got up the floor and grabbed a bowl with sliced cucumbers inside and handed one back to Keith.
"Now I'm trusting you not to eat it." Lance looked straight at Pidge.
"No promises." She shrugged and snatched the fruit off his hand before throwing it in her mouth and grabbing another. "Where'd you even find cucumbers?"
"I don't know, I got them from Hunk." The blue paladin poked Hunk, in a weak attempt to waken him.
"huh? What?!" Hunk jumped up causing his cucumbers to fall off.
"Where'd you get the cucumbers?" Pidge asked.
"The what?"
"Cucumbers."
"?????"
"C.U.C.U.M.B.E.R.S!" She raised one of them in her hand.
"Oh. You know that one alien at the space mall that sells earth things? Well he had a bunch of cucumbers that he was selling as something.... else." He looked to the side and the group got the picture.
"And this was supposed to be relaxing." The hothead of a paladin groaned.
"It is! Shiro and Allura get it." Lance argued pointing to the two.
"They're asleep."
"It's just that peaceful." Lance smirked.
"Sure." Keith rolled his eyes. Hunk started laughing and soon after Pidge did as well, but it got a different reaction. Everyone stared at the small paladin.
"What." She stopped laughing and stared at the guys.
Hunk couldn't answer, he just stared at her speechless, I don't even know what was happening with Keith, and Lance was just Lance, nothing really changed about that.
"It's just, we haven't seen you genuinely laugh or smile in a long time. Too long." Lance finally let out.
"Oh. Oh! That reminds me, I have to go an upgrade my lion's defenses. Sorry Lance.
"As long as you had your daily break it's fine with me because a stressed Pidge is a grumpy Pidge and a grumpy Pidge is a scary Pidge, a very scary Pidge."
Pidge giggled a little and walked away. The truth is even though Lance or Hunk holds a group fun activity everyday, she needs a break. A moment to just break down and cry a little, she knows that if Hunk finds out she's a dead man, but she just can't keep her feelings bottled up like this, especially after these past few months.
She curled up, bringing her knees up to her face, sitting on the pilot's chair of the green lion. Green purred.
"I'm sorry green you shouldn't see me like this." She hiccuped, still in tears. Green purred again. "I know, I know. I shouldn't keep it secret from the rest of them, but I can't have them worrying about me every single time I shed a tear. In this war, my feelings are unimportant and could get in the way." She sniffled. "There's no excuse either." Green growled loud, no longer was it heard in Pidge's head. "Is there something wrong?!" Pidge jumped up, sitting correctly in her seat.
"Pidge?"
Shit
"Oh um Lance?" Pidge quickly wiped away the tears that stained her face.
"We're you just crying?"
"No."
"Then what was that?" He didn't seem convinced
"I was talking to Green until she growled, so I got shocked." It wasn't a total lie, just a few things left out.
"I heard you whimper." He walked closer to her, but she had yet to turn her chair around.
That's when she thought of an idea that was full proof.
"Just hurting a little."
"WHAT! Are you hurt, where is it?!" He turned her chair around and saw her face stained and red.
"It's kind of personal."
"Pidge."
"And it's embarrassing."
"Just say it, I won't judge you."
"It's my- my." She whispered.
"Pidge, I can't hear you."
"Period. It's my period." She sighed in defeat and so did Lance.
"Oh thanks god, I was afraid you were bleeding or something."
"Well technically I am-."
"Nope don't finish that. I don't want to know." He interrupted her. "Is this your first time?"
"No. It's just there's nothing to take for the pain, kind of don't trust the space stuff here." She whispered the last part and Lance instantly understood.
"If you want I could carry you back to your room and we could cuddle."
"Awww someone wants to cuddle? It's fine Lance, I'll stay here."
"Then I shall wait with my princess."
Pidge blushed at the nickname.
"No need, I don't want to waste your time."
"I could never waste time with you, it's impossible."
"Lance seriously, I want to be left alone." It came off a little harsh, but he understood she needed her space. He was starting to walk off when he heard a purr.
"Blue?"
"She's probably calling you since I didn't hear it."
"Your right. Bye Pidge!" And he ran off after tripping over one of Pidge's gadgets on the floor, which earned a light snicker from Pidge. She sinker back into her chair.
"What am I going to do girl?" She questioned Green, knowing she'd only respond with purrs that told her to tell the others. "I can't let them know, they've been focusing on me too much you know? That whole thing with Lance, then my ankle, got captured by the Galra, was tortured and watched as my brother and dad were killed in front of me, now I'm super depressed and I almost died, then Lance again, telling the group about my real name, plus I had a heartbreaking past."
"Damn I have a depressing life." She said out loud.
"Oh and I can't forgot that voice in my head that was basically pushing me to my limits. Which now that I think about it disappeared. Good." She sighed. "Don't tell them either Green, can't have them worrying."
Too late.
Green had told the other lions who told their paladins.
