Bruised
Third POV
"For the past few months, situations concerning the green paladin have been seen." Shiro started. "Though I wish it hadn't come to this, but we have to discuss this matter." He glanced at Pidge one last time before speaking. "Princess, if you would please?"
Out of nowhere the door began to close. "I have locked us in this room until we can fix this problem. Shiro and I have agreed that that's what's best." She folded her hands, her smile was a bit shaky. She was worried about their reactions. She was worried about her reaction.
"Bullshit." Pidge whispered.
"What was that?" It wasn't Allura's fault she could hear abnormally better than the rest of the paladins, but it was hard when you couldn't understand human curses.
"Bullshit!" Pidge stood up, slamming her hands on the table. "Who gave you the right to choose what's best for me when I'm the only one who understands how I'm feeling?!"
"And that's the reason why. Pidge, look this was our last option. Of course we don't want this, and we especially don't want you to go through this again." Shiro said.
"Well if you didn't want to, then why are you doing it?" She turned to Allura then Shiro. "To see me suffer? Because if you wanted to see me cry, you'll have to try harder." She already looked broken, she just got out of a pod and now this? "Go ahead then, ask me any question you want! Cause I'm not breaking even if I wanted to!"
"Pidge, were not trying to hurt you."
"Then what are you doing?!" She looked at Shiro. "Tell me!" She slammed her first on the table, closing her eyes to stop the tears that were trying to fall. "I- I." She started stuttering. "I deserve to know." She whispered. She was staring down at the table while the tears dropped.
"We're trying to help you." Shiro reached a hand out to her.
She slapped it away. "Dammit. Dammit!" She vigorously wiped her tears away. "I'm supposed to be a paladin! The green paladin! I can't be crying over stupid little things like this!" She walk away from the table.
"It's not stupid." Lance walked over towards her. "It never was." He smiled softly.
"Lance, stop lying to me." She tried to shove him away, but he pulled her into a hug.
"No. I'm not lying, I'd never do that to you."
"I know you don't care." She stopped struggling. "No one does, nobody ever did."
"I'm sorry! Please, don't tell them!" Katie screamed.
"Go to your room." He scowled and when she didn't move he yelled. "I said go to your room!"
She looked at him wide eyed and scrambled up the stairs. She ran to her room and shut the door. Katherine began sobbing, she fell at the base of her bed.
"I should've never done it. I should've never." Katie whispered to herself. She stayed there until she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
She got up and hurried over to her closet, she rushed inside and pressed her back into the wall. She placed both hands over her mouth and tried to keep quiet as she cried.
But, she still got found.
"Get out."
Pidge was trembling, her breathing became more harsh and short. The memory was so vivid. She mimicked the position she was in that day and covered her mouth. She slightly pressed back into Lance.
"Pidge?" Lance called out to her. She had suddenly pressed back into him, so to say he was a bit confused was an understatement.
Pidge didn't know what was happening. At first she saw one of the worst days of her life and now she feels as if she's reliving it.
She looked side to side as if there was someone to help her, but all she saw were the walls of the closet she used to hide in. Where is Lance?! She looked behind her to see the same wall that had crayon colored inside. Sam?! Mom?! She tried to move, but she couldn't. She heard muffled voices, just like that day.
"Matt!" She tried escaping Lance's arms, but he was too worried to let her go. "Matt! Help! Help me!" She screamed. Lance finally let go of her after Shiro rested his hand on the blue paladin's shoulder.
Pidge fell onto the floor. "Matt. Please!" She sobbed. She felt as if she was suffocating. Pidge was holding her throat as if it would help. Shiro knelt beside her.
"Katie, snap out of it." He whispered. He pulled her into another hug. "Everything is gonna be ok. Matt is ok. Sam and Colleen are ok too. You don't have to worry."
The scene was terrifying. To see the youngest paladin crumble so easily was unexpected. She barely allows anyone to see her emotions.
"What do we do? We can't just leave her like this." Allura said frantically. "This isn't normal for humans, is it?" She looked back at the other paladins for an answer, but she never received one.
"Oh my god Pidge. I am such a terrible friend! If only I knew, I could've helped you." Hunk sobbed quietly.
"No." Hunk and Allura both turned to Keith. "It's no one's fault. No one did anything wrong. There's nothing we could've done to change what has already happened."
The group stood there in awe, until Lance broke the silence. "When did Keith become the wise one?" Lance was still frowning, but the joke did set him at ease a bit. Well until he heard her.
She let out a blood curdling cry. As if she was going through some sort of physical pain.
Katie was being dragged through the hallway by her leg. She was currently screaming and kicking, trying to stop him.
"Help! Help me! Someone, anyone!" She knew no one would hear her, still it didn't hurt to try. But I'm her situation, it did.
"Pidge, you're going to be ok. Everything is gonna be fine." Shiro whispered.
"Help me!" She screamed.
No one cares
"Someone!"
Just shut up already
"Anyone?!"
Worthless
"I'm sorry!"
Ugly
"I didn't mean to!"
Failure
"Let me go!"
It's over
"Please!"
Give up
"PLEASE!"
