Will's POV

I was pacing outside the operation theatre for hours which felt like eternity. I was praying silently, grabbing coffee for Mary and Jill who were waiting with me and replaying your voicemails just to hear your soft voice.

I hoped you were alright as I was trying to get out as much information as I could from the doctors. The overcoming nostalgia made me feel vulnerable. My hopes were dwindling when the doctors refused to declare any news till the end.

When the end was nearing, I felt lost in all my pessimistic thoughts. The doctors emerged out of the operation theatre, all looking at me with a sombre expression. My hands balled into fists in trepidation. I was petrified, my body trembling and cowering in fear, my hands clammy, my throat dry, sweat trickling down my forehead and my heart hammering loudly against my chest.

The head doctor removed his glasses slowly and patted my shoulder. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he smiled.

Suddenly, all the others around us started applauding. The nurses were wiping their tears and cracking a lovely smile, the doctors were pulling me into a warm hug and nodding towards the door as I stood frozen.

Slowly, I strode towards your room. Words couldn't explain how I felt at that moment when I saw you. You were sitting on the bed, your warm brown eyes twinkling and tears tumbling down your rosy cheeks.

I could feel tears rolling down my cheeks and we both laughed lightly as our eyes met. I gingerly pulled you into a hug and roughly planted a kiss on your forehead. We were quiet and both of us didn't feel the need to say anything. I could feel us talking a million words through that gentle hug where we refused to let go of each other.

I sat beside you and you weakly stroked my cheeks. Your pink, plump lips parted when you whispered, "So, I was right . . . "

"You're always right," I breathed and chuckled. You hushed me and looked at me in awe and wonder.

You continued in a low voice, "I was right, I never lost you. I never lost my Will. I never lost my Will to live."
