I woke up to the ringtone of my phone; it was about nine o'clock.
"Hello," I said with my sleepy voice.
I switched on the light and added a pillow behind my head, sitting up on the bed.
"Hi Paige, sorry for waking you up but it's important," my dad said over the phone.
"No problem, Dad. I was going to wake up anyway at nine thirty for breakfast," I said.
"Okay good. Can you come to my office later if I couldn't come for breakfast?" he asked as he whispered some instructions to some guy at work.
"Yes, don't worry I'll come. But try to make it to breakfast with me and Chloé," I requested.
"Alright baby girl. Bye."
"See you."
I closed the line and got up from bed. After brushing my teeth and hair, I arranged my outfit for today.
I picked out a short, black, leather skirt and a white, Gucci shirt which had an opening at its back with black, Jimmy Choo heels. I then headed downstairs after having my bath.
"Hello Jane, the table looks lovely," I said as I arrived to the dinning room.
There were different kinds of bread- from white baguette to toasts and eggs. Different kinds of cheese were arranged deliciously and nicely with freshly squeezed orange juice and tea. Pancakes and waffles are Jane's specialty; she made the best pancakes I've tasted.
Every Saturday we had a traditional family continental breakfast at home. Unfortunately, this Saturday Mom couldn't make it because she had a meeting in France.
"Hello Harold," Chloé said as she got up and hugged my father.
"Chloé, it has been a long time," my father said hugging her back.
"Dad hi," I said, glad that he could make it.
"Girls, looking lovely both of you," my father said dropping a brown file on the table in the corridor.
"Hello Jane. Thank you for this lovely breakfast," my father said taking a seat.
"It sure is," Chloé said excitedly.
We both took a seat next to my father.
"So girls, I have something tonight and I want you guys to come. It's a business opening," Dad said.
"Alright. Chloé we're going shopping later," I said smiling. I loved going to such events.
"Another reason for Paige to go shopping," Chloé sighed and then we all laughed.
We talked about lots of things. Mostly about Chloé and her father. Her father's main company was in Switzerland, but he also had some work here in New York. Dad has been close friends with her father before we were born.
We had our breakfast and then Dad left to work .
Chloé had some drawings to do because of some fashion project so she decided to go up to her room and work on the project. She was studying fashion design. She was really good at it with amazing drawings. Sometimes, I'd help her with the designs.
When we were young, we made a promise that when we grow up we'll have our own fashion show. We'd always say that we'd both design the clothes together and I'd be one of the models.
Four hours later, after I had studied for my upcoming exams, I went to Chloé's room to ask her about lunch.
"Chloé? Want to have lunch here or we'll go out?" I asked her and before she could answer I continued, "Or you know what? Let's go get sushi."
"Alright, let's go."
She got up and got ready for lunch.
I didn't feel like driving so the chauffeur took us.
After having lunch, we went shopping.
After hours of checking different shops, Chloé found a red, Ralph Lauren, above the knee dress which was open at its back.
I didn't buy an outfit. Instead I decided to get a new shoe and a purse. A cream Louboutin shoe with stones and an Yves Saint Laurent beige purse, made their way to my shopping bag.
The event was at 9 p.m. We went to have a manicure and style our hair. The stylist straightened my hair and tied it into a high pony tail. Chloé left her hair down but just straightened it.
I chose to wear a white, tight, Chanel skirt with a dark beige shirt which was longer on the sides and back than the front. I applied some mascara and eye liner with nude lipstick to add some edge. I ended my look with some gold earings to match my heels. Looking at my reflection, I smiled in satisfaction.
I decided to head to Chloé's room to check on her and to see if she needs any help.

"Wow Paige you look stunning," she said.
"You look beautiful as well. I like that red lipstick, very bold. I'm going to borrow it some time," I said.
She wore a short red dress, exposing her long tanned legs. Her yellow hair with golden strands was pulled up into a neat ponytail. Everything fitted perfectly and elegantly.

I sneakily took a piece of macaroon before heading out without Chloe noticing. If she did notice, she would keep on rambling about how obsessed I am with macaroons and I was not willing to hear her complaints.
We arrived at the place after about twenty minutes.
The minute we stepped into the place, scents of champaign mixed with liquor permeated the room. As we walked farther, I could smell a faint perfume with a dominant smell of cigar which almost made me choke. It was filled with business men in suits and their wives or dates in cocktail dresses and formal clothes.
I greeted and spoke to many people from my father's partners to my friends. I had some canapés with caviar and salmon.
I then stood with Chloé, chatting. As I turned my face, I saw the guy from yesterday- Dylan. He was speaking to some business men. He looked nice and so hot in thattriple black suit- sharp looking, and well fitted.
It made him look even more handsome.
Exactly the sort of thing any woman would swoon over.
When he was done speaking, he turned my way and saw me. He paused and raised his champagne glass as he gave me a smile. That automatically made me smile and I raised mine back.
Chloé leaned closer, not tearing her gaze away from him and whispered, "okay he's hotter in person than in pictures."
"Oh Chloé shut up," I smiled wider and averted my attention from him and looked back at Chloé.
She winked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"He was checking you out by the way," she said after a few minutes.
"Oh yeah?" I smiled, taking a sip to cover up my smile.
I looked at him again, thinking of what Chloé just said.
"You guys would look good together."
"We both don't date. And besides he's totally not my type," I lied.
She just hummed and gave me a look before she laughed and I joined her.
A guy then approached us, looking better each time he got closer. He had mesmerising deep ocean blue eyes. His face was strong and defined with strong arched brows and very thick eyelashes.
Why are boys blessed with eyelashes they don't deserve?
"I'm Edward Baizen." He gave a triumphant smile.
Another good looking guy. He was cute, but honestly, unfortunately not as hot as Dylan.
Why the hell are you comparing him with Dylan, Paige?
"I'm Paige," I smiled sweetly handing out my hand to shake his.
Instead of shaking my hand he brought it up and kissed my hand, earning him a sweet smile.
"I'm going to leave you guys and give you some privacy. See you in a bit," Chloé chirped giving me a wink.
I was slightly shaking my head to give her a signal not to leave me. She saw it and still left.
Oh Chloé damn you.
I spoke with Edward for a while. He was alright but maybe a little boring. I didn't enjoy the conversation very much. We spoke about thee party, future plans; all the basic things. It seemed so boring that i was praying someone would save me. The conversation flowed, but as usual didn't spark a thing. It was normal as usual, just like every other conversation I've had with guys.
"Hello," a deep voice said, interrupting us.
It was the devilishly handsome guy- Dylan Sparks. He came and stood next to me.
"Thank you for keeping my date occupied," he said as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
I looked at him with wide eyes, getting a weird look and smirk in return.
Poor Edward.
He greeted Dylan and then walked away.
"Why the hell did you do that?" I chided as I removed his hand from my waist.
"I saved you. You should thank me," he said with a smirk.
"Oh thank you," I sarcastically said as I shook my head and looked at the ocean-blue-eyed guy who disappeared, giving us one more final glance before he did.
"Besides I'm much more fun," he teasingly said as he held a strand from my hair and slid his hand downward till the bottom of the strand, letting it slide back to its position as he reached the end.
"You wish," I said, my voice coming out as a whisper.
Something then grabbed my attention, it was Chloé speaking to an attractive guy and she was having a good time. She had that triumphant smile of hers as she giggled between the conversation, while he had a genuine smile which made him look cute- the good kind of cute.
They looked like they were flirting, with Chloé flipping her hair.
I was glad and hoped they'll hit it off.
"Excuse me- a minute," I told Dylan.
As I was about to leave, I mistakenly bumped into Dylan and my drink poured all over his shirt.I've never been this clumsy, I've never done such things.
I hoped no one saw, I thought as I looked at the glass which had a few drops in it.
His eyes widened and so did mine as I saw the mess on his shirt.
"I'm so sorry!" I spluttered as I tried to take out tissue paper from my purse.
"I've got a speech to say in an hour and half," Dylan said harshly, pissed as he looked at his watch.
Oh great. I was screwed.
I turned to see if anyone saw and thank God no one noticed.
"Come with me," I pulled dylan.
He jerked his hand away.
"No. I don't want you to ruin anything again," he angrily said.
"Just come I know a dressing room here, I'll help you clean," I said reassuring him.
"How do you know?"
"I have my sources." I winked.
I led him to a room which had a restroom inside.
"I'm sorry again," I said looking at the floor.
"It's okay. Don't worry," he said coming closer.
We were now looking at each other in the eye.
He didn't say anything and neither did I.
I then broke the silence by saying, "take off your shirt."
"I didn't know you wanted to see me shirtless that much," he said, laughing.
I rolled my eyes at his arrogance.
He took off his jacket and then shirt.
His six-packs popped as he took off his shirt, revealing his abdominals which were sculptured to perfection, instantly giving off the impression that he just came out of a Calvin Klein shoot.
Enough stop drooling Paige.
You've seen better my inner self snapped at me.
"I wouldn't want to stop you from staring at my body, but we've got a time ticking," he said with a smirk.
Could this get any more embarrassing?
I took the shirt and went to clean it in the toilet. When I was done, I dropped in front of the aircondintioner and went to sit on the bed.
Dylan came and sat next to me and asked, "So you're going to watch me say my speech?"
"Do you want me to?" I asked teasingly.
"Maybe."
"I didn't know you were the founder of the Cancer Health Centre," I continued.
"Yeah. I'm not all heartless and bad. Your father and my father are part too," he said.
"You looked nice today," he continued, looking at me and smiling.
A blush crept on my cheeks. Never have I ever blushed because of just a compliment.
"Thank you," I said looking down smiling.
"You don't look bad yourself," I said winking as I looked up at him.
"Do I ever look bad?!" he said with a smirk.
"Don't flatter yourself," I said, rolling my eyes.
I stood up to check the shirt.
"Almost dried," I hollered and he nodded as he gave a half smile.
I was running away; it was getting a little bit awkward. All this eye staring and sweets talks was certainly not good.
I pretended to speak to Chloé on the phone so that time would fly before something happens that I would regret.
"Here. It's dry," I handed him the shirt once it was all dried up.
"Thank you," he avowed, as he took it and wore it.
We heard whispers and then Dylan closed my mouth and said, "inside the closet quick."
"No." I crossed my arms, raising my brows.
He looked at me and sighed before he held my wrist.
"Not your choice," he said, dragging me to him.
"Dylan," I squeaked as my body collided with his.
"I'm sorry, but I had to," he whispered as he closed the closet, letting the darkness settle in.
I took deep breaths, calming myself. My hands were on Dylan's chest; I was so confused and shocked to do anything other than breathe.
"Why?" I whispered.
"Trust me I know what I'm doing."
"Are you scared?" he asked as he brought his hands and held mine.
"No." I shook my head even though he couldn't see me, "I'm confused."
He leaned closer, feeling his lips against my neck, "don't be."
And just this simple gesture sent goosebumps all over my body. Why? I have no idea.
"Yes the stakes are high."
"But no one should know."
"We'll play with the records. No one would know."
"But Sir, if someone finds out, our lives would be ruined."
"That's why if anyone finds out, we'll kill him- a car accident would be perfect so that know one would doubt anything."
"Alright Sir, I'll see them tomorrow by ten at the port."
And they left.
These were the only things we could coherently hear. They walked passed the room, deep into the corridor as their voices disappeared along with their figure.
They were two men and none of their voices sounded familiar.
We got out from our hiding place.
"Okay, what?" I questioned looking at Dylan, confused.
"I don't know, but we're about to find out. Don't tell anyone about this. Well keep it between us," he said, seriously.
I dusted myself and said, "include me in your plan, I want to be part."
He gave a half smirk and shook his head amused.
I winked before leaving to Chloé.
"You were with him weren't you?" Chloé asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Keep your voice down, Chloé," I said calmly, still shocked from before.
Just then Dylan was welcomed on stage to say his speech.
I was saved by the bell.
Dylan gave a touching speech that made my heart twitch, wondering if he wrote it or it was written by someone else. It seemed coming from his heart, and that warmed my insides as I sheepishly smiled at him.
Chloé and I then decided to leave.
I smiled to Dylan while leaving and he nodded slightly, almost unnoticeable.
