"Oh no you didn't," Dylan said as his lips curled up into a devilish smirk.

Oh no!

I tried to escape but Dylan held me and splashed me with water. I squeaked as I got drained in water.

"Dylan," I screamed as I splashed him and Martin splashed along laughing.
We laughed and looked at each other.

The bathroom was a mess and Martin had gotten out of the shower. My lungs were aching from laughing. This was fun; I've never laughed so hard in my life.

We were all wet and I don't know how we had managed to give Martin a shower.

"Ugh!" I growled in frustration as I noticed what had happened to the toilet and my clothes.

"Hold on, I'll give you something to change into while your clothes dry up," Dylan said as he got out a blue dressy shirt and handed it to me.

He then went outside so that I'll change my clothes. The shirt came down to the middle of my thighs. I then went out of his room to give him my wet clothes.

"What?" I asked curiously.

He was looking at me from up to down and then his lips curled up into a smile and he said, "nothing, you look cute in my shirt." I found myself sheepishly smiling. He then took my clothes and dropped them in the drying machine so that they'll dry up.
His shirt had his breathtaking signature scent that I could now identify miles away.

We sat with Martin, laughing and playing while we waited for my clothes to dry.

"My clothes will soon dry and I'll get going," I said as I came from Dylan's room.

"Stay," Dylan said calmly as he stood up when I went next to him to get my handbag.

"Please Paige Can you stay until I sleep?" Martin said pouting as he came towards me and held my hand, giving me the puppy eyes that I couldn't resist saying no to; I looked at Dylan and he smiled at me as I came back and sat.

Martin had a stomach ache and so I went to do some tea for him while Dylan brought him a blanket after he gave me a teabag and showed me where the tea cups were.

As I was coming back holding the tea for Martin, I heard Martin say weakly in a sleepy voice, "I had so much fun today. Thank you Dylan for today."

I came closer so that I could see their faces.
Martin then stood up on the couch and hugged Dylan and said with an adorable voice "I love you."

Aw.

I could see Dylan tense up. He then softened and hugged him back and said almost a whisper, "I love you too Martin."

I smiled and stood there and waited a few seconds before going to them.

"Your tea is ready Martin. It's still hot though," I said as I sat down next to Martin and Dylan. I then went back to the kitchen and brought some biscuits for Martin to eat with the tea.

Martin then drank the tea and got ready for bed.

"Will you please tell me a bedtime story?" Martin asked me as he pulled the blanket closer and held my hand.

"My mom always read me stories before I sleep, but she stopped."

"Sure," I said as I positioned myself next to Martin on the couch.

Dylan Pov👻🔥

"Sure," she said in a soft voice as she got closer to Martin and he snuggled next to her.

She told him a story about a prince on a horse who saved a princess from some kind of danger. I didn't listen to the story, I just heard the words- horse, prince, princess, so I just assumed, I mean of course that's what always happens in such stories.
Speaking softly and calmly, she'd glance at me several times and she'd smile while telling Martin the story.

Paige had finished the story, but Martin hadn't slept yet. He wouldn't agree to sleep; he wanted us all to sleep with him so we decided to pretend to sleep next to him.

After fifteen minutes of pretending to sleep, Martin raises his head. I stretched out my hand and whispered, "sleep," as I ruffled his hair slowly and then closed back my eyes.

I waited for another thirty minutes then raised my head and checked on Martin, he was asleep.

"Paige," I whispered not wanting to wake Martin, hoping for an unknown reason she'd be asleep. I wanted her to stay the night.
She didn't answer, I then waited a few seconds and called her name again. She didn't answer and I found myself smiling.

I went to drink water and brought a blanket for Paige. As I came back holding the blanket in my hand, I found her phone ringing and it was her mom so I answered.

"Dylan hi, is there something wrong? Is Paige alright?" She asked in a worried tone.

"No, no. She's alright, but she fell asleep, I just answered so that you wouldn't get worried," I said as I went to speak on the balcony so that Paige wouldn't wake up.

"Oh," she giggled through the phone.

"I trust you Dylan," she said sharply in a serious tone and before she closed the line she said, "you guys are perfect for each other."

I then went back in and sat next to Paige, admiring her beauty.
I sat for a while watching her while she slept. I watched her long lashes and flawless tanned skin. She looked so peaceful and beautiful. I then slowly removed some strands that slipped on her face. She then raised her hand and put it on her neck, shifting a bit and turning to face the other side.

I wonder how I would have ended up if she hadn't walked into my life.

My life was so different before she came. She brought life and so much colour into my world; she's slowly turning my life from black matte to a colourful life; she's saving me.
She's that one person you meet who turns you into a different person, a person you're proud to be. She's that person who makes you see the sun where you once saw clouds. She's the once in a lifetime kind of person.

She turned my life upside down, I mean.. I had plans and goals before her.
Now she's in my dreams, plans, and goals.. Everything I do includes her.
I can't risk ever loosing her, because my biggest fear is losing her.

I kept staring and admiring her natural beauty while she slept until my weariness finally took over, numbing into sleep.

The morning.

I woke up and heard some whispers. I looked to my left and saw no one on the couch, neither Martin nor Paige.
I got up, rubbed my eyes, stretched out and headed towards the kitchen because I heard some voices coming from there.

I saw Paige baking pancakes with Martin. They were giggling, chatting and laughing.
I stood behind Martin and closed his eyes. He then screamed my name and stood up on the chair and hugged me.
Paige then looked at me and gave a heartwarming smile. Smiling back, I sat next to Martin.

"Dylan, Dylan could you flip the pancake on the pan?" Martin asked excitedly as he tapped my arm.

"Maybe," I said as chuckled and got up. Paige handed me the pan.

I put the pan on fire and waited a bit till it became hot. I then put a spoon of pancake batter on the pan and swirled it. I could see Paige and Martin waiting. I laughed to myself and flipped the pan. The pancake went up above and then landed on the pan.

Martin laughed and started clapping as he hugged Paige and said, "again, make it higher!"
I repeated the same process but this time making it higher, as Martin requested. I flipped the pan and the pancake went higher, but this time it didn't land on the pan. It landed on the floor ruining it's perfect smoothness.

I could see the look of anticipation on Martin's face turn to disappointment and then Paige laughed at me as she came and took the pan and tried to flip it. As it landed, she smirked and did it again successfully and then winked as she put three perfectly round, smooth golden pancakes on top of each other and added chocolate syrup into a smily face giving it to Martin.

"Wow," I said as I clapped my hands in awe.

Where did she learn all these? She's an expert.

She sat down in front of me on the kitchen table and handed me a plate which had two round, golden tanned mouthwatering pancakes with a spoon of butter on top I then added maple syrup.
Carefully cutting a piece, I took a bite of the deliciously looking pancake.
The main flavour was the sweetness of the of the cold syrup contrasting with the warmth of the hot pancake.

"We'd bet who would flip the most without the pancake falling. It was mostly me against Kendall. He taught me some tricks," she said a few minutes from sitting at the table, giddiness in her eyes as she recalled the times she had had in high school.

I found myself frowning the minute she mentioned his name. Words couldn't come out so I just nodded. The taste of the pancakes along with the sweetness of the syrup had suddenly disappeared and suddenly the pancake was tasteless and I lost my appetite.
For an unknown reason I felt irritated. I felt an unexplainable and unknown feeling, a feeling I barely knew existed.

Of course it had to be Kendall. Why'd Kendall come back? He definitely likes her, but does she like him?
Does she like me?
..Why do you care Dylan!?

I was cut off from my thoughts immediately.

"Hello," I answered the phone, irritation obvious in my voice.

"Sir, you have a meeting in two hours the meeting room is ready and I have arranged all the papers?" My secretary said.
I asked her some questions and told her not to worry that I'd be there in half an hour and closed the line.

"You can keep Martin with me," Paige suggested as soon as I closed the line. Martin agreed excitedly as he went to change his clothes.

"You sure?" I asked a few minutes later.

"Yes, I'll take him toy shopping. Don't worry, go."

"Okay thank you. Here's my credit card," I said removing my credit card from my wallet.

She looked at me raised her eyebrows and then turned as she held Martin's hand and said to me, "there won't be a need for that," and headed towards the door, opening it.

What? I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, "Paige..Paige!" I said as I followed her to her car and she gave me a look and opened the door to let Martin in.

"I'm sorry, but he's my cousin I can't make you pay for him. I'm the one that should be responsible for him and his expenses. I can't make you do that."

"You aren't making me do anything, I want to," she said as she got into the car, waved, smiled and then drove off in her red Mercedes.

Giving off a smile, I walked back into the house to get ready.
Damn, she's so stubborn.

5 hours later

I got to Paige's house and saw Martin on the ground playing with the new toys Paige got him. There were about twenty different toys from the little cars to the Lego blocks.

We took Martin horse riding and came back to my house so that he'll shower. I dropped Paige home. She said she'll come later and put Martin to sleep, but she had some things to do.

"I want McDonald's," Martin said to me, coming out of the room.

"Alright, I'll order for you," I said picking out my phone and dialing the number.

"No," he said with a poker face.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"I want to go there."
"I'll get you two happy meals, two ice cream... I'll double your order, but let's stay here and order," I said. I had a hectic day and I was too tired and didn't feel like going out especially to McDonald's with a kid.

"Noo!" Martin said pouting extending the word.

"Let's go," he said holding my hand as he tried to pull me off the couch, but obviously failing.

"Can we take Paige too?" Martin asked and I nodded in approval as we headed towards the car.

I went to Paige's house and took her with us to McDonald's.

After Martin had his dinner we went home and Paige took him to sleep in my bed. She stayed with him until he slept laying next to him while I signed some papers in the dining room.
She left, leaving her savory scent on my pillow and sheets and said that she'd come in the morning to say goodbye to Martin before his mother comes and takes him.
