Chapter Thirty Six

Third Person's POV

Jimin opened his older brother's room only to find it empty, a nurse suddenly stopped and looked at the young man.

"The patient was discharged the other day." He said, Jimin frowned and looked at her. "But Nurse, he's scheduled to discharge today." Jimin clarifies.

"The patient, insisted to discharged, we didn't allow him from doing so but he insisted and signed a waiver. Isn't he your brother why don't you know?" Jimin was suddenly hurt by what the Nurse said to him.

Jimin bowed to her and hurriedly walked away in front of the Nurse. Jimin checked his phone as he made his way out, no messages, no calls from Seokjin. Maybe Seokjin was staying at Dad or Mom's House, he thought silently.

"It's okay, he's thinking about my studies. I'm graduating soon." Jimin said to himself, holding himself back not to think negatively and hurt himself.

Jimin walked outside the building saying it was all okay but then his emotions were betraying him as his tears starts to stream down his face. He finally get outside, looking up at the sky,

"Ah, seriously." He hisses irritated at why he's such a cry baby. He was frustrated about knowing he had played himself, hurting Jungkook and now he's hurt because his brother didn't even bother on telling him about his whereabouts.

"Oh!" Jimin stopped and looked ahead of him, his tears were blurring his vision. He wiped it off and stared again.

"Right! It's you!" Jimin frowned, "Do you still remember me?" Jimin frown deepened.

Jimin never showed up to his class and just went to watch out for Jungkook. He remembered he once told Jungkook that he would make it up to him when he stood him. Now he would use that as a reason to talk to him and apologize for what he did.

"Were you waiting for someone?" Jimin was surprised when he noticed Namjoon in front of him. Namjoon smiled as Jimin remained silent.

"I'll give you a ride back home." He said to the young man and Namjoon seemed to notice Jimin's hesitation. "Ah, I see, you're waiting for him." He stated and averted his eyes. "All right, I'll go first then." He said in a sad tone, Jimin suddenly felt guilty and spoke.

"W-wait," He looked at the hallway in case he would find Jungkook, but when he didn't see him, he looked at Namjoon again. "I was waiting for Hoseok-hyung," He lied, Namjoon's face suddenly lit up.

"I'll come with you." He said and stood beside Namjoon, they walked out together— and Jungkook saw both of them walked away.

"Thanks for the ride."

Namjoon smiled at him in response, Jimin waved at him before Namjoon closed the car window. Jimin pretended to close the gate but when he saw Namjoon had already left he hurriedly opened the gate and ran out, to get back at Jungkook.

He doesn't want Namjoon to think he's right thinking that he's waiting for Jungkook. For some reason, Namjoon always loses his mood when they talk about Jungkook. He's not sure if the two has an argument but he cares about Namjoon, so he's being considerate of his feelings.

His every step was fast, he didn't want to waste time. He's scared that he might not be able to make it on time and lose Jungkook. Jimin curses when the traffic light turns red, Jimin bent down holding his knees, gasping for an air. He closed his eyes, calming himself. He could almost hear the beating of his chest and his every breath. He stood up straight and placed a hand over his hip.

"Jimin-hyung?" And Jimin felt like his surrounding suddenly fell silent, or he just suddenly turned deaf because even his strong heart beat earlier at the moment he can no longer hear.

Jimin slowly opened his eyes, and then his brown eyes met his dark ones. As he was looking at him, his heart seemed to beat again. His heart is now beating loudly against his ribcage. Jimin gulped while still staring at the younger male. Jimin took a step but then stop himself, stopping the urge to hold the younger.

"It's about to turn red again, better cross now." Jungkook said to him and bowed his head and started to walk past him.

Jimin sadly followed Jungkook's figure as he strolled away. He tailed at him immediately only leaving a quite distance between them.

Jungkook is walking hands inside his pocket while listening a song through his earplugs. While walking, he suddenly stumbled clumsily, Jimin chuckles and covers his mouth, because the scene was too funny.

It appears Jungkook heard his laugh and suddenly turned to look at him, Jimin quickly turned around. He clasped his hands, praying Jungkook wouldn't recognize him even though it was highly impossible.

When nothing is happening yet and he's scared to look behind him, Jimin decided to count 1-10 before allowing himself to turn around, his chest bump with Jungkook's, he backed away and looked at the young man furiously.

"You scared me!" He complained.

"You have the audacity to get mad when you're the one who laughed at me?!" Jungkook says, Jimin's eyes widened.

"You heard it?" He asked, it came out as a whisper. "Aren't you wearing earphones!"

"There's no music playing." He answered in a whisper as well. As soon as Jimin smiled at him, Jungkook groaned, both ears reddening.

"Why it has to be you." Jungkook muttered embarrassed looking away, Jimin only grins at him and asked.

"No, wait, and if it's me?" Jimin asked, Jungkook looked at him again. "Are you following me?" Jungkook asked instead of answering.

"No." Jungkook smirked and Jimin felt his cheeks warms up because Jungkook knew he was lying. The table has turned he is now the flustered one, he averted his eyes. "Admit it," Jungkook starts and Jimin suddenly felt nervous as Jungkook approached him, closing the gap between them, grinning from ear to ear. "You were about to come back for me, right?" Jimin looked at him with his big brown eyes and gulped.

"And if you're right, what is it to you then?" Jimin asked him confidently even deep down inside he wanted to bury himself in shame. When he couldn't stand Jungkook's stare at him, he averted his gaze and creats wide distance between them. Jungkook lips twitches upward but faded as he pressed his lips in a tight line. "Why?" He asked in a serious tone.

"Just ..." Jungkook is biting his lip as he anticipate for Jimin's response but then out of the blue, cold water splashed all over him. He is drenched in dirty water. Jimin's eyes followed the car that did Jungkook dirty, it went away without a care, he apologetically looked back at Jungkook.

Jungkook had his eyes pressed, brows pulled together and obviously holding back his anger. Jimin winces at the sight. He hurried to approach Jungkook, he didn't find any handkerchief and he also couldn't remember if he brought any so he wiped Jungkook's face with his sleeves. Jungkook remained standing, didn't dare to move or speak out and let Jimin do the work.

"Jungkook-ah, why are you quiet?" Jimin asked him. "Why it has to be you, damnit." Jungkook said through gritted teeth, Jimin couldn't help but smile, he bit down his lower lip afraid he might burst out laughing.

"Why it's always a big deal when it's me?"

"Jungkook, are you done?" Jimin calls and peeks inside his room, Jungkook is laying down on the bed fully clothed with his foot planted on the floor. It looks like, he was still bothered by what happened earlier as he rubs his forehead with his eyes closed.

Jimin couldn't help but laugh, he's still confused why Jungkook is so embarrassed with him. He slowly entered the room and sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the young man, his hair still wet, Jimin slap his thigh.

"You should dry your hair." He commented. "Later." Jungkook mumbled making Jimin shook his head, disagreeing. Jimin looked at the towel holder and stood up to pick it up.

Jimin cheekily pulled him into sitting position, Jungkook whined at that. "Hyung, what now?" Sitting with his eyes still closed, Jimin smiled and put the towel on Jungkook's head and starts drying the younger's hair. Jimin stopped and held Jungkook's face instead to tilt his head up, Jungkook had his eyes closed.

"Why are you so upset about it? Stop pouting, Hyung won't tell anyone." Jimin carefully said with a soft tone, Jungkook smiled, he likes the way Jimin talks to him, it's very soothing.

"When you stumbled that one time, I didn't tell you—" Jungkook's smile dropped. "Don't remind me." Jungkook said whining adorably, Jimin pat Jungkook's cheeks with his hands before drying Jungkook's hair again.

The sounds of steps could be heard but before the door swing open, Jungkook wrapped his arms around Jimin's waist and pressed his face against the older stomach, knowing exactly it's Namjoon who just barged in.

Jimin's stomach flips and his cheek suddenly heats up with the sudden hug, it was so random and it surprises Jimin. He acted as if he didn't mind even though he was surprised and want to burst out at what Jungkook did. Jimin resumed rubbing Jungkook's hair with the towel, blushing profusely. But he abruptly stopped when he felt that there were eyes staring at them. Jimin hesitated for a moment before deciding to spare him a glance. Jimin's eyes widened when he saw Namjoon, he wasn't staring at them rather he had his back facing them.

Namjoon left just like that and Jungkook let out a chuckle, Jimin was caught off guard by his reaction. He looked down at Jungkook who was holding him, and his face drop, as it slowly sink in to him.

"Jimin?" Namjoon called and Jungkook immediately went behind Jimin, he intentionally grabbed the mug that Jimin was holding and started washing it though Jimin was about to rinse it and place it to the cup holder.

Jimin felt his heart flutters at the contact, they were too close, the sides of their cheeks were touching each other. Jungkook rinses the mug and placed it to the mug holder before grabbing the other one and wash it as well, repeating what he did a while ago.

"You're taking a bit too long, so I decided to just do it."

"I'll just wait outside." Namjoon said and left them at once, with his footsteps sound slowly fading,

Jungkook pulled himself away from the smaller.

Jimin felt a lump forming in his throat after recalling it. Jimin put a smile on his face and cheekily said, "H-hey let go, I can't dry your hair properly." He said to the young man and lightly pushes Jungkook.

"Right," Jungkook said and pulled himself away. After drying his hair, Jimin returned the towel to the holder and sat down next to him and lay down on the bed while his feet were also planted on the floor.

"I'm thirsty, I'm going to the kitchen, do you want to come?" Jungkook asked him, Jimin smiled and shook his head no. When he heard the door closes, Jimin's smile fell down.

He stared at the ceiling, eyes stinging from the tightness of his chest. And when Jungkook came back he looked the other way so that Jungkook wouldn't notice the tears that well up in his eyes. Jungkook joined him to bed, he turned to look at Jimin while smiling.

"Why don't you stay the night here?" Jungkook suggested because he knew Jimin would spend his night all alone at their House.

"Should I?" His shaky voice was obvious. Jungkook smiled widely and hummed.

Jimin swallowed, he opened his mouth to speak again but because his lips were trembling he couldn't speak anymore.

"I think the bed can fit both of us." Jungkook said before he looks away and stared at the ceiling.

"J-Jungkook-ah?" Jimin softly called. "Hm?" He asked while closing his eyes.

Why?

Jimin blinked his eyes as he recalls how Jungkook approached him that day.

"Hi, Jimin-hyung. Yes, it's me, now stop spacing out."

Jimin felt his chest tightens in unbearable pain.

Why did you approach me that day?

It wasn't because you care, right? Because if that's the reason ... You wouldn't have sell me out to Taehyung.

What is it that you want from me?

"I can't stay, I'm not sure when my older brother will come back, so it would be better to stay home." Jungkook noticed that something seemed to be wrong so he looked at Jimin, worried.

Jimin pushes himself, he stood up, Jungkook slowly gets up as well.

"Jimin-hyung,"

"You don't have to walk me home."

"No, Hyung it's okay—" He didn't let Jungkook finish speaking and left.

Jungkook was surprised by Jimin's behavior. He stared at the open door, wondering what was happening to Jimin. Jungkook chased Jimin out of his room but he stopped when he saw the two at the main door, Namjoon had his hand on Jimin's, dragging him out. Jungkook suddenly felt annoyed by what he just witnessed.

Namjoon dragged the younger and pushed him inside his car, he turned around and went inside but Jimin got off and walked out of Namjoon's car. He hurried to get away because his tears were about to fall and he doesn't want Namjoon to see it.

Namjoon chased after him, turning Jimin's body to face him. He looked at Jimin angrily and confronted Jimin.

"Don't you really know?" Namjoon asked with hurtful tone. "Don't you really know what I feel about you?" He asked again, Jimin furrowed as he stared at him, completely at loss.

"Listen Jimin-ah," Namjoon began, "I like you." Jimin was surprised to hear his confession.

"And I'm fucking pissed because that bastard clearly knew what he's doing! He's doing all these shit because he knew it fucking drives me mad!" And he was even more surprised by what he said next. Jimin felt his heart crumpled as he put the pieces together.

"Jungkook saved you but it doesn't mean he's a saint, he's using you against me! You shouldn't approach him because he has ill intention to you!" He harshly tells him.

Namjoon knows Jimin care about Jungkook but it wasn't the case for Jungkook and he need to make Jimin realize that. He felt sorry for breaking the younger's heart but it would hurt more if he discover it on his own later.

"Namjoon-hyung," Jimin called and smiled, Namjoon was caught off guard. "I don't know what to say." He began.

"Actually, this is the first time someone confesses to me." Namjoon shook his head and spoke. "Jimin-ah, don't, I didn't confess because I was expecting you to say it back. I'm saying this—" Jimin cuts in.

"Can I think more about it? I don't really know what to say—" Namjoon was suddenly confused by what Jimin was saying.

"Why are you acting weirdly Jimin-ah? Didn't you hear what I said?" Namjoon asked him angrily, Jimin stared at him unfazed.

"Let's talk about this another time, Hyung." He said and Namjoon couldn't believe what he was hearing now, was Jimin ignoring what he said about Jungkook or Jimin thinks Namjoon is lying?

"I'm afraid Hyung is waiting for me at Home, I'm leaving now." Jimin smiled at him for the second time and bowed his head, he turned his back on Namjoon but the older snaps.

"Are you ignoring what I told you just because he's too precious to you? Let me add this then, Jungkook doesn't care even the slightest about you and was backstabbing you the entire time with Taehyung!" Namjoon shouts, tears slowly trickling down his cheeks.

"I-I really need to go, please, just let me be." Jimin said keeping his voice steady and ran away.

Jimin slowed down his pace, sobbing as he walked home, his tears still dripping as his heart squeezes in excruciating pain.
