Chapter 9- Savannah

Authors Note: Hey people, I'm just making this little announcement of me being super excited because I've got over 330 reads and over 45 votes! I know some people get millions of reads, but for me a few hundred is still amazing! Also, I wanted to thank these 3 people for their dedication to my story: LineyForever3, Emanda09 and theroo9 because they have been with me from the start, always reading my chapters as soon as they are published, giving really nice, encouraging comments and voting for me. Not to say my other readers are unfaithful, but these three are just exceptional. Sorry for the long wait for such a short chapter and for the boring authors note interrupting your reading.

Off-white walls, black window frame, grey curtains, black door frame (probably leading to a bathroom or something) , grey carpet, white beds x3 (one next to the wall, one next to the window and one near the bathroom door), large wooden wardrobe. Savannah surveyed the room that was to be her home for the next couple of months, and concluded that it was in drastic need of a make-over. She dumped her bag on the bed set next to the wall, and was reaching into it to find one of her posters- maybe one of the ones with the inspiring messages on it? Or perhaps her one from the Taylor Swift RED tour- when a stranger walked into the room. The newcomer had straight brown hair that hung down just past her shoulders, mildly tan skin, brown eyes and was wearing some neutral blue skinny jeans and a cream-coloured hoodie.

"Oh hey, are you my roommate?" Savannah flipped around in shock, her pony tail whacking her in the face as she plonked awkwardly onto the bed she had just claimed. "I'm Jade," The not-so-mystery girl continued as Savannah smiled uncomfortably. "I just got here, like three hours ago,"

"Yeah, I guess I am your roommate if we're in the same room," Savannah mentally facepalmed- that was so lame! "I'm Savannah,"

"Cool," Jade said. She walked over to the bed near the second door and sat down much more gracefully than Savannah did before. "Welcome to the asylum, Savannah," Savannah frowned.

"Asylum?!" She interrupted. "Hey, I may be, like, kinda weird, but-"

"Oh, please, don't tell me you haven't had something unusual happen to you in the past couple of months!" Jade smiled wryly as Savannah fell silent. "Yeah, I've talked to a bunch of people who are in the other rooms- it happened to all of us, and judging by the number of free beds in each room, there's gonna be more people coming,"

"I set fire to my netball," whispered Savannah morosely. "It was an accident..." Jade noticed Savannah's upset and smiled encouragingly at her.

"And I can move water with my mind," Savannah gaped at her- so she wasn't mad- or at least she wasn't the only mad one in this 'asylum'. "The girl next door- Maura or something- she made a pot plant in her room grow into a tree that broke the wall!"

"But why?" Savannah flushed- what a stupid question! How is anyone supposed to answer anything that vague? "What I mean is- why are we here? Why are these things happening to us? Why is this an 'asylum'?" Oh great, Savannah thought glumly, now I sound stupider than a three year old. No offence to the three year olds. My roommate's gonna think I'm so weird.

"I don't know," Jade admitted frustratedly. "But hey! we've got no choice so we may as well make the best of it- Ew!" Jade yelped.

"What- is it a spider?!" Savannah jumped up from the bed in a panic. "I hate spiders!"

"No- sorry for alarming you," Jade apologised. "It's just I sound waaaaaay too optimistic right now, even though I have no idea what the hell is going on," Savannah giggled.

"And I sound waaaaaay too pessimistic right now," She imitated in a squeaky voice, making Jade grin. "Maybe they drugged us,"

Both girls looked at each other for a moment, but it wasn't funny anymore. Jade sighed as she stood up, and Savannah followed suit.

"Maybe they did,"
