Chapter 22.
We started running away as fast as we could. We run towards the parks exit, and there we see a large boat with a ramp attached to a dock in the distance. That's our only way off the island, and once were in the boat I'll explain to the people that we were just weird travellers in costumes.
"That boat is our ticket off the island, we'll be safe once aboard. Right sis?" I say.
I looked at my wrist at noticed my sister wasn't there. Oh my god, I LEFT HER AT THE HOTEL!!! I look back in the direction we ran, the 2 boys took notice. I began running back towards the hotel, but not before a hand grabbed me and held me back. I turn my head and see it's Springtrap, big surprise.
"What the hell are you doing?! Do you NOT see molten lava coming this way fast?!" He yelled as rocks fell around us.
"I left my sister back at the hotel, let go!!" I pull my arm, but he won't let go.
"Forget it, we need to go now!" He started pulling me towards the boat.
I yank my arm from his grip, "I am NOT leaving without my sister! You two get to the boat, I will make it back in time."
He looked as if he were about to protest, I give him the deadliest glare I could give anyone. Springtrap growled and sighed frustratedly.
"Fine, but you BETTER be careful." He said sternly.
I nodded while the both of them ran towards the boat and I ran back towards the hotel. The lava was approaching fast as the bunny said, but I'm fast too. Sprinting back to the hotel, I arrive to see lava flooding through the lobby already, can't go through there anymore. I look around for anything to get up to the second floor, I quickly notice a fire escape. Oh the irony is REAL right now. I run to the fire escape and begin climbing up. Once I reach the second floor, I run into the building. It's much hotter and I can smell smoke and see heat waves. I cough as I run to my room and bust the door in.
"Shannon!!" I shout and cough.
Shannon came running from the bathroom and jumped onto my wrist, transforming back into the relic and locking. I coughed hard a few times.
"I'm sorry I left you, I was so used to you being on my wrist I forgot." I coughed again.
"No worries, just go before we're melted!" She yelled.
I take off like a rocket back towards the fire escape. I make it to see that the fire escape has melted, can't go back down that way. I run back towards my room, we could jump off the balcony since it's not that high up. I run into the room once again and run onto the balcony, I look over the edge. Lava was already flowing 10 feet outside the lobby, which is 5 feet past the balcony. If I'm gonna jump, it's now or never. I quickly climb onto the edge, watching the molten substance move to judge if I would land in it or not.
Its moving fast enough that it could reach the dock in 10 minutes, but slow enough for me to jump and land on pavement. I take a deep breath then leap from the balcony. The cool breeze during the fall was nice, I land on smooth pavement and start running. The sound of a ships horn bellowed from the dock, indicating it's leaving. I don't have much time. Sprinting towards the ship, the sound of a truck horn came from behind me. I turn my head to see an army looking truck with a familiar woman driving it, it was Claire. The lady who the guy named Owen dated.
Claire drives beside me and honks the horn, "Owen, there's someone else! Help her!"
She drove slightly ahead of me now and there was Owen hanging out of the back of the truck with his hand offered.
"Come on kid! Jump now!" Owen yelled over the engine.
I nodded and jumped towards the man with my hand out, he grabs my hand and pulls me into the back of the truck. I started laughing excitedly that I had made it. I notice a black man with glasses alongside Owen, I've never seen him before. But he's young, and judging by his body language, he's terrified. Owen sat down with a sigh.
"Thank you sir, I really appreciate it." I thank the man who pulled me in.
"Don't mention it. The names Owen." He says.
"I'm Sky." I said as we felt the truck jump off the ground a bit and land on something rickety.
We look out the back of the truck to see the dock getting further and further away. We made it onto the boat! I smile widely, then I see it. A brontosaurus was running to the dock, then she stopped dead in her tracks. She began calling out for us to return as a large ash cloud was barreling towards her, then she lowered her head knowing we weren't coming back. Like she gave up. The dinosaur turned around and faced the ash cloud then stood on her hind legs, calling out one last time.
Owen and I watched helplessly as the ash cloud engulfed the dinosaur, her cries ended slowly as a door closed in front of us. I felt the tears running down my face, we just watched an innocent animal suffer a slow and painful death by suffocation and being burned alive. So this is what the Autobots deal with in a way...
"You alright?" Owen asks.
I sigh and nod my head, "I'll be fine..."
With that said, I jumped out of the back of the truck to find my 2 compatriots. There were lots of trailers within this boat, which I find to be strange. I get a really eerie feeling in here, like I got into something I shouldn't have. I get a chill, and I'm not cold. Something is off here, very off. I walk past one of the trailers when a hand snatches my ankle, I look down to see a familiar gloved hand coming from under the trailer.
"There you guys are." I whisper.
Bendy and Springtrap crawled out from under the large trailer, both of them stretching.
"I honestly didn't think you'd make it, you surprised me once again you lunatic." Springtrap looked down at me.
"Guys, something is weird about this boat..." I shudder again.
"How so?" The bunny whispered.
"Not sure, but if you guys are spotted and they try to kill you, kill them. I don't trust anyone here..." I say.
They both nod in agreement. I motion for them to stay put as I walk back in between the trailers. I put my hand upon one of the trailers, the metal was warm. Not hot, but warm, like someone had leaned against it for a long time. I tilt my head, that's pretty strange. I'm half tempted to open this thing to see what's in it.
"Oh fuck it, I need to see what's in here." I whisper.
I walk to the front of the trailer towards the doors. There was a latch that kept the it shut, I reach for the latch and slowly pull it, opening the trailer. Opening the door carefully, I peek in to see a sleeping T-Rex. She was chained down as well. Wait, weird feelings here without being cold, dinosaurs in trailers? Oh, I think I know what's going on here...These people aren't concerned for these beautiful animals at all, they're gonna sell them.
I quietly shut the trailer doors to not awaken the tranqed carnivore, growling silently. There was a pained cry coming from a few trailers over, I gasped slightly and ran towards the trailer where the cries were coming from. The cries were getting louder and I grabbed the latch, pulling the door open. I couldn't believe what I saw. There was Blue the raptor, laying strapped down on a table with a muzzle on her head. Owen, Claire, the black guy who was in thee truck were in the trailer too. I walked into the trailer and all the attention was on me.
"You can't be in here, I'm tending to an injured animal." The brown haired lady said.
"What happened to her?" I ask firmly.
"She was shot, now you need to leave!" She commanded.
Blue was SHOT?! Ohhh whoever did that is gonna get a bullet to wherever this raptor was shot! I ignore the lady's command and approach the injured dinosaur as she was crying out and squirming. The black guy kept his distance from Blue while I was closer.
"Ugh fine, stay. But Owen, if you want Blue to live, she needs a blood transfusion. Or she'll keep losing blood and she'll be dead." The vet said.
"We'll need a dinosaur with similar DNA." Claire said.
"Like a Tyrannosaurus Rex?" I ask.
Everyone looked at me like "What the fuck?" Kinda like they weren't expecting that answer.
"Yes actually." The brown haired lady said.
"The T-Rex trailer is 5 over on your left, I know because I looked in it. She's asleep, you should be alright." I say.
"Well, we'll go get the blood for this. Sky, can you stay here and help her?" Owen asks.
I nod, "Absolutely, I can't see another animal die."
Owen nods as he grabs a huge blood bag, the sight of that bag gives me a pit in my stomach. Did Blue lose that much blood..? I shake my head as Claire and Owen left the trailer, Blue was starting to squirm more and cry louder. I quickly get on the other side of the table, the side where Blues back is to me. Her squirming was shaking the table violently, the vet was struggling to keep her still as I was trying not to get squished against the wall.
"Hey! Put pressure on the cloth over her wound so she won't bleed out!" She yelled at the scared black guy.
Oh god I feel so rude for not knowing his name, I don't mean to be. But he stepped up and got close enough to Blue and held the blood soaked cloth, then a spurt of the red liquid hit him right in the cheek. He looked mortified, his eyes land on me.
"Is it in my mouth?!" He squeaked.
"Uh, wouldn't you know if it went in your mouth? But no, it didn't. Come on man, it's just a bit of raptor blood. You act like it's poison." I giggle.
Blue was still squirming. I put my hand upon her neck, feeling the bumpy texture beneath my skin. I shush her quietly and pet her neck gently, repeating the process. The raptor struggled even more when I touched her, because she doesn't know me. I don't blame Blue, these strangers brought her here. I'd be pretty peeved too.
"Its okay, Blue. I know you don't know me, but I promise I won't hurt you...I promise." I continue to pet and shush her.
Blue's red reptile eyes landed on me as she was squirming, I look at her with a sincere smile. I continue petting her neck very gently, the raptors struggles were slowly stopping. Both the vet and guy were shocked as they were watching me calm this raptor down.
"You're doing great Blue, good girl. God, she's gorgeous." I look at the lady.
She smiles and nods, "She certainly is, finest specimen I've treated. I hope they get the blood quick."
"How much will it hurt Blue to get the bullet out?" I ask.
"Since I don't have any anesthetics here, a lot unfortunately." The vet sighed.
That gave me an idea, I smile. I stopped petting Blue and removed my backpack, opening it and looking for my anesthetics. I ruffle through my clothes and other miscellaneous things before finding my last syringe of anesthesia. I grab the syringe out of the bag and hold it towards the vet.
"Will this work on her? It's my last syringe of anesthesia, this animal needs it more than I do." I say.
She takes the syringe from my hand and runs her tongue along the needle. Okay...that's weird. Wait no, I've seen people do that in movies to determine if it's deadly or not. The vets eyes widen and land on me.
"This is the REALLY good stuff, almost impossible to find. Where the hell did you get this?" She asks.
"A hospital, they're really for my broken ribs, but I'll live. Blue needs it much more than I do." I got back to petting the raptor.
She took out a syringe with a thicker needle as the one I had was rather flimsy. The vet dumped the liquid into the larger syringe and tossed the smaller one away. She injected it into Blues leg, causing her to cry out for a second. I shush the raptor once again and pet her neck, her red slit eyes looking at me once again.
"It's okay Blue, it will get rid of your pain. You'll be alright." I whisper.
Blue snorted and chirped at me, I smile. I think she likes me, and I think she just understood me as I did her. The raptor had stopped struggling and crying out at this point, she lifted her head and looked at me dead on. She tilts her head with a small snort, I do the same. Blue seemed amused, she then nodded her head. I copy her same movements and laugh a little. The raptor snorts once again and her eyes narrow, as if to say "Really?"
"Yes Blue, I'm imitating you. Why? Just for fun." I say playfully.
Blue chirped and bobbed her head, despite the muzzle on her snout.
