Green Gem| HTTYD. Part 4
Sky was almost finished eating her meal as the Yautja had finished his, the small dragons only staring at her while she ate. She looked to her alien friend as they only continued to stare.
"They're just like my dogs, I swear." She said as she took another bite.
"Hm?" Fugi asked.
"They're just like dogs, or hounds. They sit and stare, it's their way of begging. Only differences here are they're dragons and they don't bark." Sky said.
"I see." Fugi said as he stared into the flames.
The human had finished her meal and stuck her knife into the log, heading over to gather more meat for the Night Lights. The little reptiles were bouncing with delight as Sky had placed 3 smaller pieces of the sheep onto the stick, gurgling happily and smiling. Toothless only lay next to the log as he watched his young jumping playfully.
The Light Fury glanced towards them as the scent of multiple steaks cooking was much stronger, her stomach growled loudly. She huffed and attempted to look away, but the sight of her young and her mate being close to the human and alien made her work up her courage.
The female dragon rose from her resting place and cautiously made her way over to the campsite.

The little dragons were practically squealing in excitement when I took the 3 cooked steaks and placed them all on my rock plate, I swear they looked like they were about to receive a million dollars to be honest.
"Okay, one for EACH of you. No hogging." I say firmly yet sweetly as I took a steak.
I hand the first one to the white night light, ladies first haha. She IMMEDIATELY clamped onto the sheep meat and ran off to go eat it, nearly took off my fingers. Guess she likes to eat in peace, that's cool. I hand the second sheep steak to the night light with white spines, he did the same thing as his sister and ran off to eat his food. The little Night Light with a white nose sat patiently waiting for his, I carefully handed him the cooked meat as I was worried he might get my fingers.
But he didn't clamp down onto it like his siblings, he gently took it out of my grip and began to eat it. This Night Light certainly differs from his rougher siblings, he DEFINITELY takes after his father. I smiled as the little dragon slowly ate the meat, savoring every bite. I kneel down in front of him as he was tearing off a chunk, he noticed me and stopped mid chew.
"Don't tell your siblings this," I looked for the other Night Lights, "But you're my favorite."
The baby dragon smiled and went back to eating. I stood up and saw that the Light Fury was coming over, slowly but surely. She must be hungry, that or she might feel motherly while I'm near her kid. Her beautiful blue eyes glistened in the moonlight as she was approaching, I slowly stepped away from her baby to hopefully ease her. She still came slowly, but she seemed a bit more relaxed and slightly quickened her pace.
"Fugi look, she's coming over!" I whispered over my shoulder to him.
"Alright, just be cautious. She doesn't seem to be as relaxed as the male here is." He warned as he grabbed another large steak for himself.
The Light Fury was only 10 feet away now, still rather cautious of us. I don't blame her really. I only saw bits and pieces of The Hidden World, I never saw the whole thing because I cried when I saw a clip of the dragons all leaving. But I do remember seeing her in a cage on a boat of dragon poachers and Toothless walked right past her, broke my heart.
"Hi girl...it's okay." I said softly.
Her ears perked as I spoke, she let out a curious purr as she continued walking our way. Now only 5 feet away, but that's where she stopped. My favorite Night Light had finished his food and went on his merry way as his mother sat down. I believe this is as close as she's going to get, but I will respect her distance.
"Would you like some sheep steak?" I ask her.
She only blinks and licks her snout. Eh, I'll take that as a yes. I nod at her and look to the resting Night Fury.
"Would you like one too, Toothless?" I ask him.
Toothless' head shot up as he licked his face, he purred happily and his green eyes lit up. I laugh.
"Okay, I'll make 2 more and turn in for the night." I say as I head to grab more meat.
I grabbed 2 more smallish pieces of the sheep meat while leaving Fugi's pieces alone, noticing that there was definitely a dent in the food supply. Well, in my part anyway. I won't touch Fugi's pieces because I don't think he'd like me touching them without permission, or giving his food to wild dragons. I go over to the fire and jab the stick I'm using through the meat, then placing it back over the fire.
The fire wasn't as big as before, so I gathered some of the drier pieces of wood and tossed them into the flames. The fire went WOOSH, oh that worked beautifully. I looked to where the Light Fury sat, she was watching me curiously. I then noticed that her wings were rather sparkly, almost as if glitter was sprinkled on them. The sparkly features made me think of freshly fallen snow. Yes, that's what I'll call her!
"I think I'll call you...Snowfall." I said aloud.
Snowfall tilted her head with a small 'rawr'. I looked away from her to focus on the meat, which was already a nice brown while I was rotating. Wow that was fast. I removed the steaks and placed them on my rock plate, putting the stick aside. Toothless lifted his head to see me coming with his medium rare steak, he smiled with his toothless smile.
"Here you go Toothless!" I toss the steak towards him.
His teeth protruded from his gums and caught the steak in his mouth, happily chomping away at it. Snowfall stayed where she was, but she seemed fidgety and I saw her licking her lips.
I won't toss this one to her, I think I'll just personally give this one to her. I carefully step towards her as I try not to scare her. Snowfall squinted and showed her teeth, and I stopped where I was.
"Hey girl, you want it?" I hold the meat out to her.
She eased as I stopped where I was, her inching forward. Snowfall was now inches from the meat, she then snatched it and held it in her teeth. Hey, she didn't try to get my fingers! Sure she snatched it, but her kids were more rough. The Light Fury reared her head back and swallowed the meat whole. Snowfall glanced at me, snorted, then ran off back to her side of the cove.
I feel the strong need to gain her trust.
"She's rather strange." Fugi said.
I face my Yautja, "Fugi...I feel like I need to gain her trust."
"May I ask why?" He asks as he reached for his mask.
"I don't know why...But really think I have to. I need to show her that not all humans are bad, and I think I just made a little bit of progress." I say with a yawn.
"You go and rest." Fugi said.
"What about you? Aren't you tired?" I ask.
"I will come in shortly." He says.
Okay, I'm too tired to even consider arguing. I nod, walk around Toothless, grab my knife off the log and head into our cozy little shelter. I put the knife in my bag, which I had put in here earlier, and put it against one of the walls. I laid down on the sheep wool carpet, it's actually quite soft and not scratchy. That's nice. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.

I stared into the fire, thinking to myself. The "Night Fury" as the ooman had called it stood and stretched it's limbs, giving a tired yawn and trudging off towards the female on the other side of this cove. His offspring were already asleep while laying against their mother, I should rest myself. But one thought still plagues my mind.
Why do I care for this ooman so dearly? I have sworn to protect her to the best of my ability as a part of Yautja tradition, yes. But this? This is much more complicated. Perhaps I consider her a good ally?
A friend?
