Chapter 8 - Misha🌙

The weather outside this past few days were colder now. There was a certain chill in the sky and the leaves have begun to turn to their autumn shades and hues. At night, it was even chillier and the smell of crisp after rain basked in the air. Since Michael's arrival home in these past couple of weeks, I haven't had a chance to talk to Donna.

Michael had kept me persistently at his side. After sweeping in and finishing most of my duties, I made my way into the kitchen to see the old woman. She smiled when she saw me.

"I don't think I have ever seen you this happy, Donna." I remarked.

Her smile turned into a scowl, "Yea, well don't get used to it, child."

I walked around the kitchen counter and hugged her tightly, "I missed you!"

She swatted my arms away before huffing. She leaned forward and continued kneading her dough in front of her. She looked like a child who was pouting. I gave her a sheepish grin.

"C'mon, don't get mad at me, Donna. You know it has been hard working for the Alpha's son."

Donna tsked into the air in disbelief, "The man looks at you like you're a dessert he likes to ravish."

My mouth snapped shut. The kiss we shared yesterday flowing into my mind. Why didn't she have to mention this? Shaking my head to throw my mind back on track I shrugged and plucked an apple from the fruit bowl on the counter.

"He doesn't like me." I explained. "I work for him. Obviously, that means I have to follow him everywhere."

And kiss him...touch him.

God! He had such a hard, chiseled back.

"I lived longer than you, Laurel. Understand when I tell you that Alpha Michael has his eyes on you." She pointed a flour dusted finger at me.

I scoffed before taking a bite out of my apple. She was crazy. Michael wasn't interested in me. He just has a weird way of ordering me around.

I had to admit though, my heart flutters like I was on a high each time I see his face. My palms sweat when he was near me. Each time he speaks in that thick brogue voice of his, I can't help but be soaking wet between my legs. If I could jump this man and ravish him without any consequences, I'll drag his ass behind a tree and have my way with him.

Michael wasn't pretty boy handsome. No way he wasn't. Michael was the rugged kind of handsome. His dark brown hair could use a little trim. His height and broad muscular shoulders are intimidating. If he wanted to crush me between his palms, I was pretty sure he could. Somehow though, I found everything about him made me even hotter inside. The need and desire for him only grew. Not to mention, that stubble beard only makes him even more sexy and dangerous. I find it hard to breathe around all that dominating presence.

I didn't realize I was zoning out into space until Sebastian's face appeared in front of me. I blinked and looked down at the half-eaten apple in my hand.

"What was the look in your eyes?" Sebastian asked.

"What?" I asked and averted my gaze.

"It looked like you were thinking about something very dirty." Sebastian whispered with a smirk. He leaned in closer to me, trapping me between his arms.

"What are you doing?" Donna slapped his arm.

He cowered away from Donna with a sly grin, "Why wooing the lady, of course."

"Lay off from Laurel, you halfwit." Donna snapped like a mother protecting her child.

Sebastian chuckled and sneakily grabbed my wrist before twirling me into his chest. My back was firmly pressed against his front. His lips mere inches away from my neck. I can feel his breath slowly brush against my skin.

"You can't hurt me Donna. I have your child trapped between you and I. One wrong move and I just might bite her." Sebastian threatened.

Donna picked up the rolling pin, ready to do some damage. "I dare you to bite her. I'll go straight to the Alpha and have you kicked off the pack."

Sebastian chortled before hugging me tighter. I lifted my right foot and stomped down on his feet. Who does he think he was? Manhandling me like I was nobody.

He yelped before letting me go. I ran and hid behind Donna. Donna waved her rolling pin into the air. "Serves you right, you idiot!"

"Damn, Laurel!" Sebastian swore.

"Don't you ever play that trick again." I threatened.

"Or you will do what?" His eyes glinted with amusement and teasing. I knew he was harmless and had a huge crush on me but I did not want to encourage his feelings for me when I had none for him.

"Or I will rip your throat." An ominous growl came from the kitchen doorway.

Sebastian blanched before turning to look at Michael. Michael stalked towards Sebastian before gripping Sebastian by the throat.

"Touch her one more time like that and you will wish you were dead when I am done with you. I'll break every single bone of your fingers so that you can never use them again." He threatened, his eyes dark with uncontrolled rage. I have never seen this side of Michael before and it terrified me.

Crouching lower I hid behind the Donna's back. She was tinier than me but if I crouch down far enough he might not see me.

A moment later, I heard Sebastian being dropped before he scrambled away. Not a moment wasted, Michael's footsteps moved closer to Donna and I.

"I know you are behind her." Michael said impatiently.

Not wanting to anger him any further, I peeked up from behind Donna.

"D-did you need something?" I asked, my voice shaking with slight fear.

He sighed and waved Donna to leave the room. Donna walked out immediately leaving me alone with the humongous, gigantic, and angry Alpha.

He didn't move or say anything. Instead, I can feel his eyes burning holes into my face until I finally looked up at him. He pinched my chin between his fingers gently to maintain eye contact.

The warmth of his fingers seeping into my skin.

"You know, I will never hurt you." He whispered softly.

I blinked, "But you were going to hurt Sebastian."

"He was going to hurt you!" He growled louder.

"I was handling it." I replied.

He inhaled slowly to control his temper before he looked at me again, "I won't hurt you. You know that, right?"

It was like he was asking for reassurance like he needed me to tell him that I wasn't afraid of him. I shook my head. "I do and no I am not afraid of you."

He gave me a smile, "Good. Now tell me who is this Sebastian? What is his relationship with you?"

"And why do you want to know?"

"Because I am your Alpha." He answered in an obviously tone.

"He's just a friend." I answered him after a minute.

He scoffed, "The way he was holding you didn't look like it."

"Why, if I didn't know any better I think you're jealous, Alpha." I teased and his eyes darkened not out of anger but out of pleasure. His eyes dipped to my lips and memories of our kissed hung heavily between us.

Michael's eyes flashed with sheer hunger. Picking up my apple quickly I brought it to my lips and took a bite. It broke the sexual tension between us.

He coughed awkwardly, "We have work to do. I need you to help me sort some papers in my office."

I nodded and was about to walk ahead of him until he grabbed my elbow and pulled me back. He steady me by placing a strong hand on my waist. His other hand cupped my cheeks as he dipped his head lower and gave me a quick lick and suck on the lips before pulling back.

I stared at him blankly.

"The apple looked good." He shrugged.

"Then why didn't you grab yourself an apple?" I replied with a pout.

He grinned, "It tasted better from your lips."

He walked out of the kitchen. I stared after him. My eyes dropping to ogle his nice shaped ass that molded nicely in those black denim jeans.

"Why does he keep kissing me?" I muttered as I walked after him. I eyes my apple for a moment and remembered what he said just a moment ago. Heat crawled on my cheeks and i had to bite the inside of my cheeks to stop the bubbly emotion inside me.

Arriving upstairs in his office, it was a small roomy room that has color stained windows. This room out of all the rooms in the house was more warmer and contemporary. Michael was sorting through some paper on the desk.

"What did you need help with?" I asked.

He looked stumped like he wasn't able to figure something out. I walked over to sit the opposite of him. He shifted more paper on his desk.

"I need to find an important document dating an event that happened in the past. It was documented by my grandfather. A pack battle that took place on our territory. Can you help me look?" He asked.

I smiled and began sorting through the papers. I made sure to sort them by category. Historical events, finances, account records, and statements were set in chronological order.

Morning flowed into afternoon and lunch was brought in by Donna. She quickly left after setting down the sandwiches and drinks. We ate in comfortable silence while exchanging what we found every now and then together.

I had moved to the sofa to be more comfortable. Bringing in more folders to sort all the papers on the desk. I was flipping through a stapled written report from some Alpha when I yawned and stretched on the sofa. I looked outside and it was getting dark. Michael had started a fire in the fireplace. The logs burning in the fireplace casted a warm and heated glow in the room. I sighed and snuggled further into the sofa.

Picking up the piece of paper, I flipped through the report. It said something about a very powerful amulet. A little detailed sketch was sketched onto the report. My fingers ran over it softly. I fought to keep my eyes open.

Rubbing my eyes I shook my head to stay away but all this reading was making me sleepy. My eyes remained on the drawing as sleep won over me.

The last thing I remembered was that the amulet looked awfully familiar.
