One: The Biggest Loser
"Welcome to your worst nightmare," said my aunt, as she drove up to my new school. I learnt that morning that she went to this school when she was my age. My Aunt Michelle had the same principal I was going to have, Terry Cherry Perry.
"Principal Perry was what really made the school hell," my aunt had said earlier in the drive. "She made the students believe the school was haunted. Terry had no love for children, so it was always unclear why she wanted to be principal. My guess is it's only for the money. That lady has been through more side jobs than I'm able to count."
I was shocked that this lady could stay in office. But now, it was time to forget all the flashbacks and get out of this car. I was starting to look like an idiot. Quickly, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the car and into the school. I didn't even say goodbye to Aunt Michelle.
The school looked similar to my old school. It had blue lockers, and the students roamed freely. The principals office was in between two rows of lockers. So far, this wasn't a bad school. It wasn't anything like what Aunt Michelle described it as.
I found my locker, it was number 70, and it happened to be next to a brown haired guy. He had hazel eyes, and seemed only focused on getting all the right books for his classes. I wasn't surprised when he got his stuff and walked away, without saying hello or goodbye to me. The kid just seemed like a nerd.
All of a sudden, a voice was speaking through an intercom. "Hello students," it said, in an annoying voice. "Today is Tuesday, or as I like to call it, loser day. One unlucky student will be named the biggest loser in the school. Now let's see who it is."
I was panicking, but then I stopped for a moment. It couldn't be me. I've always been the coolest person at school. I thought my reputation would be the same here. Until I heard the worst...
"Brook West..."
I didn't believe what I heard. My ears must have been tricking me. But then, I saw a big spotlight go over me, and everybody in the hallway looked at me. I was the lame new girl, who nobody liked. It wasn't like Mason High at all.
I ran out of that hallway and later found myself in room 34, my first period science class. I felt relaxed as I sat down in the desk chair, and put my notebook on the table provided. The room had bare walls, and tile floors. The place really needed a makeover.
"Hello students," said the teacher. "Get out your textbooks and turn to page 700." I shot up my hand, and put on an awkward smile. "Miss, please take out your textbook, or I going to have to send you to the principals office." The teacher said, crossing his arms. He didn't understand, I didn't have a textbook. It was only my first day.
"Miss, come to the front of the room please."
I followed my teachers directions, grabbed my notebook, and walked up to him. He failed to even realize I didn't have a textbook. But anyways, he wrote me a pass, and said the following:
"Miss, please report to the principals office."
This time, I refused to say but. "Sir, this is my first day at this school. I don't have a textbook, and I have no clue how to get back to the principals office."
I heard a giggle coming from behind me. But despite my words, the teacher pointed at the door, and I walked off, and tried to find my way back to the main entrance, where the principals office is.
